Background: Many flaps have been described and used for coverage of various soft tissue defects of hand, which can be regional or distant. Objective: In this study main goal is to evaluate the assessment of flap viability and post-operative hand function by Total Active Motion (TAM) and Hand grip strength. Method: This was a comparative observational study, conducted at department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Burn and Plastic surgery in Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital (SOMCH) from January 2018 to October, 2019. A total of 16 patients with acute hand injury or pathology in the palm which may create surgical wound, admitted in the study place during the study period were the study population. Where those who had Acute wound in palm with exposed tendon, nerve and bones or degloving hand injury were included in the study. Patient were divided into two group namely Group-A and Group-B. Patient chosen for groin flap were allocated in group-A and for reverse pedicled radial forearm flap were in group-B. Results: During the study, complete flap survival was 100% in both group A and B. The main purpose of this research is to analyze the perception of climate change impacts on human health in Bangladesh through data from nationality representative surveys conducted in some district of Bangladesh. In Bangladesh there have a few research has been conducted on public perceptions about the impact of climate change on human health. A structured questionnaire method was conducted, and data collected from 615 respondents. The findings of this study reveal that out of 615 respondents, 76.0% of the respondents replied positively while remaining 24.0%, almost one-fourth of total respondents, indicated that they have not heard the term climate change before. Knowledgeable in climate change, 92.5% of respondents agreed that climate change has an impact on human health while only 7.5% respondents disagreed with this statement. 90.5% of respondents argued that they are agreed with the opinion that climate change is a serious threat to human health.

Under the Penal Code dating back to 1860 induced abortion is permitted in Bangladesh only to save the life of the mother. Legalization of first trimester abortion on broad medical and social grounds was proposed in 1979 but legislators did not take action. In 1979 however the Bangladesh Government included menstrual regulation (MR) in the national family planning programme and encouraged doctors and paramedics to provide MR in all government hospitals and health and family planning complexes (Bangladesh Population Control and Family Planning Division 1979). The Government considers menstrual regulation to be an “interim method of establishing non-pregnancy for a woman at risk of being pregnant whether or not she actually is pregnant." Nearly 8000 doctors and 6500 paramedics now provide MR services in government clinics throughout the country in addition to those providers who work in private MR clinics. Despite the widespread availability of legal and safe MR services however many young women resort to illegal and unsafe abortion. This report describes some aspects of the sexual and reproductive health situation of adolescent women in Bangladesh and summarizes the available data on young women’s experiences with menstrual regulation and induced abortion. The quest for alternative matrices for plant tissue culture is a continuing process. This inquiry has two aspects. One being commercial for low cost tissue culture, and the other obviously is the better root induction vis-à-vis higher percentage of survival, particularly with respect to micropropagation. The advantage of alternative matrices raises the concomitant question of plant intelligence in sensing its environment. The present review apart from summarizing the works with alternative matrices, attempts to raise some issues related to plant sensitivity, which remain unanswered due to lack of present understanding in this area of plant biology.

The technique of Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis (SHS) was used to prepare NiAl from compacts using elemental powder mixtures in stoichiometric amounts under vacuum and argon atmosphere. Considerable changes in the oxygen contents of the specimen before and after the SH-synthesis were not observed. But, unusual occurrence of an impurity phase was noticed in the product as second phase precipitate. The sparsely distributed precipitates could be detected only in the Transmission Electron Microscope and was characterized to be an oxide of aluminium (alpha-Al2O3) containing nickel oxide (NiO), whose solubility in alpha-Al2O3 at room temperature has not been reported earlier. This paper reports dioxygenase activity in rat embryos and demonstrates for the first time the ability of rat embryo lipoxygenase (LO) to oxidize xenobiotics in vitro. Significant dioxygenase activity towards linoleic acid was found in cytosol isolated from rat embryos in different developmental stages on day 9 and 10 of gestation. All four xenobiotics tested were oxidized at significant rate by the LO in the presence of linoleic acid. Both dioxygenase activity and benzidine oxidation were inhibited by the known inhibitors of LO, i.e. nordihydroguaiaretic acid and eicosatriynoic acid. These findings suggest that LO may be an important pathway for xenobiotic metabolism in the rat embryo.

The extracellular β-glucosidase has been purified from culture broth of Myceliophthora thermophila ATCC 48104 grown on crystalline cellulose. The enzyme was purified approximately 30-fold by (NH4)2SO4 precipitation and column chromatography on DEAE-Sephadex A-50, Sephadex G-200 and DEAE-Sephadex A-50. The molecular mass of the enzyme was estimated to be about 120 kD by both sodium dodecyl sulphate gel electrophoresis and gel filtration chromatography. It displayed optimal activity at pH 4.8 and 60°C. The purified enzyme in the absence of substrate was stable up to 60°C and pH between 4.5 and 5.5. The enzyme hydrolysed p-nitrophenyl-β-D-glucoside, cellobiose and salicin but not carboxymethyl cellulose or crystalline cellulose. The K m of the enzyme was 1.6MM for p-nitrophenyl-β-D-glucoside and 8.0MM for cellobiose. D-Glucose was a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme with a K of 22.5MM. Enzyme K activity was inhibited by HgCl2, FeSO4, CuSO4, EDTA, sodium dodecyl sulphate, p-chloromercurobenzoate and iodoacetamide and was stimulated by 2-mercaptoethanol, dithiothreitol and glutathione. Ethanol up to 1.7 M had no effect on the enzyme activity.
