Cilj ovoga rada je napraviti SWOT analizu njemačke Savezne Države BadenWürttemberg. Baden- Württemberg je u političkom, socijalnom, ekonomskom i tehnološkom smislu jedna od tri najrazvijenije savezne njemačke države. Baden-Württemberg je savezna pokrajina u jugozapadnom dijelu Njemačke. Glavni grad ove pokrajine je Stuttgart. Osim vrlo snažne uloge koju ima u Saveznoj Republici Njemačkoj, svakako ima i slabosti i prijetnji s kojima se suočava. U radu će biti prikazane snage i prilike te slabosti i prijetnje s kojima je suočen Baden-Württemberg.

The scientific monograph titled Logistics and Management – selected topics is the result of a bilateral project, lasting from 2013 to 2015 and titled “Preparation of a joint scientific monograph in the field of logistics and management issued at the Faculty of Logistics in Celje and the Maritime Faculty of Kotor”. The project was managed by Professor Maja Fošner, PhD, from the Faculty of Logistics at the University of Maribor, and Professor Veselin Draskovic, PdD, from the Maritime Faculty of Kotor, Montenegro. The main goal of the monograph is to give a comprehensive account of selected areas from the field of logistics and challenges in the development of logistics, such as risk management and supply chains, transport cost, competences in logistics, urban logistics, green logistics, seaport cooperation, logistics network optimisation, logistics in tourism, logistics in performance management, systemic logistics providers and solutions to problems of transportation task. Wishing to offer a comprehensive presentation of various areas in the field of logistics, the authors of the monograph contributions, who participated on the project (Maja Fošner, Bojan Rosi, Borut Jereb, Marjan Sternad, Veselin Draskovic (ed.), Mimo Draskovic, Sanja Bauk, Senka Sekulac-Ivosevic), invited to cooperation also other researchers from the Faculty of Logistics and the Maritime Faculty of Kotor (Irena Gorenak, Matjaž Knez, Matevž Obrecht, Sonja Mlaker Kač, Tina Cvahte, Darja Topolsek, Drago Pupavac, Zeljko Ivanovic, Oleksandr Dorokhov, and Ludmila Malyaretz) who enriched the present monograph with their contributions. The monograph is aimed at professional public and anyone interested in the field of logistics. It should also serve as a useful aid in the study of logistics.

In the age of global expansion of business operations and contemporary way of life the material and information flows in and between different companies are growing rapidly they are thus becoming more and more difficult to manage. Had business functions in companies been dealt with separately until now (purchase, production, finances, sale, etc.), today the emphasis is placed on their integration due to their interdependence. By studying supply chains inside and between business partners, companies can gain competitive advantage and become more adjustable, taking the increasingly changing market circumstances into account. This enables them to meet consumers' demands and expectations requisitely holistically. Taking all the crucial activities into account, the logistics management plays a key role in the companies facing the challenges of the new millennium. Based on the numerous megatrends, which influence each and every business entity, this article aims to explain the increasing strategic importance of logistics management. The latter may not be dealt with one-sidedly as a cost moreover, the key aspects such as competitiveness as well as long-term existence of a company must also be considered. Innovation and systemic thinking in it and about it are needed. Doba globalne ekspanzije poslovanja in sodobnega načina življenja povzroča hitro in vedno težje obvladljivo rast blagovnih in informacijskih tokov v podjetjih in med njimi. Če smo nekdaj obravnavali poslovne funkcije v podjetju (nabavo, proizvodnjo, finance, prodajo …) ločeno, se danes stroka vse bolj posveča njihovemu povezovanju zaradi soodvisnosti. Proučevanje oskrbnih verig v podjetju in med poslovnimi partnerji daje podjetju možnosti, da postane bolj konkurenčno in bolj prilagodljivo, glede na vedno hitrejše spreminjanje tržnih razmer. To pomeni čimbolj celovito zadovoljevanje odjemalčevih zahtev oz. pričakovanj. Pri spletu teh aktivnosti ima ključno vlogo menedžment logistike kot odgovor in strategija podjetij, pripravljenih na izzive 21. stoletja. V članku smo želeli pokazati, kako se na številne t.i. megatrende8, ki vedno bolj vplivajo na poslovanje slehernega gospodarskega subjekta, povečuje strateški pomen menedžmenta logistike. Slednje ne smemo enostransko obravnavati kot strošek, ampak celoviteje, tj. kot ključni vir konkurenčnosti in dolgoročnega obstoja podjetja. Pospeševati moramo inoviranje in sistemsko razmišljanje o in v njej.

Risks in logistic processes represent one of the major issues in supply chain management nowadays. Every organization strives for success, and uninterrupted operations are the key factors in achieving this goal, which cannot be achieved without efficient risk management. In the scope of supply chain risk research, we identified some key issues in the field, the major issue being the lack of standardization and models, which can make risk management in an organization easier and more efficient. Consequently, we developed a model, which captures and identifies risks in an organization and its supply chain. It is in accordance with the general risk management standard – ISO 31000, and incorporates some relevant recent findings from general and supply chain risk management, especially from the viewpoint of public segmentation. This experimental catalogue (which is also published online) can serve as a checklist and a starting point of supply chain risk management in organizations. Its main idea is cooperation between experts from the area in order to compile an ever-growing list of possible risks and to provide an insight in the model and its value in practice, for which reason input and opinions of anyone who uses our model are greatly appreciated and included in the catalogue.

Attention in lean and green intralogistics has been increasing recently. Automated storage and retrieval systems that are used to buffer materials and products for a specific time period to be used later play significant role in intralogistics activities. In this study, we analyze an autonomous vehicle system known as shuttle-based storage and retrieval system (SBS/RS) in comparison with traditional crane- based system known as mini load automated storage and retrieval system (CBAS/RS). Models for throughput and energy consumption calculations have been proposed for both systems. We also present performance comparison of SBS/RS and mini-load CBAS/RS for the selected storage rack configurations and velocity profile of the selected material handling equipment. The results may serve as guidelines to warehouse designers and managers for designing new or improving existing automated warehouses.

Business logistics in Europe as well as worldwide is developing extensively both in practical and in scientific area. Increasing global trade and declining percentage of logistics costs in GDP indicates that logistics business is performing more efficiently than ever before. Logistics practice is again reflected on 15th international scientific conference Business Logistics in Modern Management 2015 which was held at the Faculty of Economics of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek. Inspired by ever changing market and contemporary logistics and supply chain management problems, Conference continues with tradition of scientific and professional papers that contribute to business logistics theory and practice in all main logistics research areas. This year’s publication presents 21 papers and 44 authors from 9 countries (Germany, Austria, Russia, Poland, Slovenia, Nigeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia). Traditionally, retailing logistics plays primary role in considerations of this Conference. First section starts with analysis of contemporary retail trade as a driver of supply chains, and continues with significance of retail internationalization development in multichannel environment. Authors are also emphasizing interesting topic of emerging RFID technology in retail studied from younger consumers' point of view. This thematic section ends with discussion about scope and significance of concentration in retail trade. Second thematic block is raising challenges in procurement and distribution channels. First article is considering procurement from business conduct approach, while second suggests appropriate procurement algorithms using harmonization method. Next article in this section gives an overview of Eco-food production, distribution channels and market perspectives in Croatia. A European experience in innovative solutions for a «last mile» delivery, with special emphasize on necessity to introduce innovative types of delivery vehicles is next topic, and this section ends with review of distribution channels of major construction materials. Transport and warehouse as main logistics components are topic of third thematic section. First paper examines the conditionality of logistics performances of transport corridor with cost and non-cost factors related to transport corridor where the port is located. Next article is evaluating methods to optimize the handling of reusable containers for parts supply at the manufacturer, and provides a determination for safety stocks of these containers. Two articles regarding warehouse issues provide review of evaluation problem and assessment method of warehouse process efficiency, and present the introduction of variable pay schemes in warehouse logistics leading to productivity improvement. Next article discuss about significance of the intermodal transport route through the port of Rijeka for sustainable transport by highlighting the significance of the introduction of new seaborne truck traffic services from the Southeast Europe countries to the North Adriatic Italian port terminals for the reduction of vehicles gas emissions and sustainable development. Transportation is in focus of last article in this section as well – implication of food standard and food safety supply chain for the final products transportation are considered through case study of Croatian chocolate producer. Last section presents development perspectives of supply chain and logistics. First article is talking about dimensions for supply chain integration - by applying process modelling and simulation methods, authors managed to represent characteristic features of supply chain operation at each integration level for all identified factors in article. Croatian competitiveness in the European logistics space is presented in second article of this section where authors argues that improving Logistics Performance Indicator to acceptable levels would significantly improve trade expansion, ability to attract foreign direct investments, and economic growth of Croatia. One more interesting idea comes with an article about “smart-box”, a business concept towards the physical internet that will enable private persons to ship their private parcels or luggage through designed intelligent containers (so-called “smart boxes”) and technologies for the branch-wide transport-related information flow. Next article provides policy framework for business concepts and models of urban/city logistics of developing economy in which author analyses the effect of traffic congestion, noise pollution and other negative externalities on city/urban logistics. A contemporary development of information technology infrastructure for optimizing logistics operations in segment of cold chain is next article’s topic. Finally, last paper presents goals and benefits of university/industry partnership projects in the field of logistics.

As the world economy is slowly recovering from years of crisis, business logistics continues to strengthen its position as the key rationalization and developing business function - both at the level of one economic entity and in the context of the entire supply chain who now know no boundaries. Continuing the respectable tradition, 14th International Scientific Conference Business Logistics in Modern Management once again explores the scientific and technical challenges within the different areas of logistics and supply chain management. Of particular importance is the fact that this year the Conference has highly emphasized international character due to scientific and professional contributions achieved through 17 papers and 33 authors from 10 countries (Germany, Austria, Poland, Turkey, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Serbia, Hungary, Bosnia and Hercegovina and Croatia). Certain papers in this publication are the continuation of the ERASMUS collaboration and other projects between scientists from the Faculty of Economics in Osijek and scientists from institutions of higher education in Pforzheim, Celje, Szeged, Poznan and Subotica. In accordance with the growing importance of logistics in retailing, the largest number of papers is in the first thematic block with the same name. The section starts with a paper which is seeking for optimal strategy of stocking of retail outlets. It continues with discussion about space and technology developments and efficiency in retail trade, folowed by paper on logistical challenges and potentials in multi-channel food retailing & distribution. Furthermore, authors discuss issues of retail ready packaging in food manufacturing industry, new scopes of retail internationalization, logistic distribution centers as business success factor, and modern developments in distributive trade. Second thematic block is devoted to supply chain management from information and comunication technology view and to supply chain security issue. Authors present interesting joint maturity model of business inteligence driven supply chain, followed by paper about changes of supply chain management in the information technology industry and its relation to sustainable development, and by paper that emphasize charachteristics of supply chain management in the global electronic market. Here are also papers on influence of authorized economic operators on supply chain security, and on packaging quality assurance in supply chain. Last section, called logistics in theory and practice, starts with a comparative literature analysis of definitions for logistics that aims to provide general definition of logistics, as well as definition of logistics subcategories. Next paper talks about firms' logistics capabilities for increasing international competitiveness. Besides, there are two case study papers concerning efficiency of cargo tram for city logistics compared to road freight transportation in Istanbul ; and new distribution channels in historical city cores in the Adriatic region. We conclude whole publication with analysis of logistics education at Cracow University of Economics. Finally, we would like to thank the Faculty of Economics in Osijekas the organizer, and to the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, who have both supported the maintenance of this Conference. Likewise, we would like to offer a sincere thanks to international reviewing committee for their contribution in improving the scientific quality of this publication.

In the past few years traffic volume is increasing. As a consequence, negative external traffic effects are increasing too, in particular CO2 emissions, which result in global warming and climate changes. CO2 emissions, a by-product of vehicles are much higher in cities due to traffic density. According to European standards, Celje is not a large city however its traffic poses a great problem that the city authorities will soon be confronted with. This paper focuses on the city centre of Celje, where traffic flow was measured and CO2 emissions calculated. Using alternative solutions the aim was to present impacts on the environment in the municipality of Celje in an event of changed traffic regimes. In order to reach the guidelines of sustainable transport development in the municipality of Celje, in the future, different measures for reducing negative external effects of city transport will have to be put into force, for only this way the quality of city life can be improved and compatibility of environmental, economic and social objectives provided. В последние несколько лет объем перевозок увеличивается. Следствие этого является возрастание негативных внешних эффектов обусловленных трафиком, и в частности, выбросы CO2, которые приводят к глобальному потеплению и изменению климата. Выбросы CO2, как побочный продукт использования транспортных средств гораздо выше в городах вследствие интенсивности движения. В соответствии с европейскими стандартами, Целье не является большим городом, однако его транспорт создает большую проблему, с чем городские власти в скором времени будут сталкиваться. Данная статья посвящена городскому центру Целье, где транспортные потоки были измерены и рассчитаны выбросы CO2. Целью работы было использование альтернативных решений с тем, чтобы представить воздействие на окружающую среду в городе Целье в случае изменения режимов движения. С тем чтобы обеспечить устойчивое развитие транспорта в городе Целье в будущем, различные меры по снижению негативных внешних эффектов городского транспорта должны быть введены в действие, ибо только таким образом качество городской жизни может быть улучшено и обеспечена совместимость экологических, экономических и социальных целей.

Članek obravnava aktualno problematiko možnosti integracije okolju prijaznih obnovljivih virov energije s sodobnimi tehnologijami v energetski menedžment logističnih procesov. Slednji je namreč v globalnem poslovanju izredno pomemben in pripomore tako k večji učinkovitosti kot tudi uspešnosti poslovnih sistemov. V članku so predstavljena nekatera obstoječa raziskovalna spoznanja, ki se navezujejo na obravnavano tematiko in predstavljajo osnovo razumevanja našega raziskovalnega problema. Spoznanje tega dela je, da se potrebe sveta po energiji še naprej povečujejo, konvencionalni energetski viri pa so omejeni. Zato je skrajni čas, da dovolj celostno spremenimo modele obnašanja in oskrbovanja z novimi okolju prijaznimi energetskimi viri energije, s čimer posredno in neposredno zmanjšujemo onesnaževanje okolja in povečujemo kakovost življenja. Predstavljena sta nov poslovni model in možna integracija obnovljivih virov energije v energetski menedžment skladišča in logističnih procesov z novim in inovativnim tehnološkim pristopom, tako imenovanim Vehicle to Grid (V2G).

V članku je predstavljen uspešen in učinkovit projektni način vpeljevanja novosti v visokošolskem izobraževanju. Posebej sta opisana delovanje e-študija na Fakulteti za logistiko Univerze v Mariboru in izvajanje pedagoškega procesa v spletnih predavalnicah, ustvarjenih v spletnem učnem okolju.

Modern complexity of management is associated with important decision making, confronting a great number of useless in- formation. Selection of information - the choice of only quality, i.e. essential ones, is a big problem in managerial decision- making. Implementation of systemic approach i.e. systemic thinking can help dealing with it. It is known that decision-making based only on intuition is insufficient, especially nowadays, in the time of global business. Therefore, managers have to operate with adequate knowledge capital. It is synergetic composition of inborn talents, feelings, abilities as well as gained knowledge and experiences. DNT put this capital knowledge into function of management decision- making, thus easier and holistic information management needed for quality and efficient and successful problem solving. It enables managers to be creative, co-operative and interdisciplinary. It opens possibilities for combination of theory and practice in the decision making processes, as presented in our contribution. Quality, holistic management decision making, create competitive advantages. It can be proved by a practical example of de- cision making about preventive measures in the winter time (roads gritting and ploughing). Great importance of quality, timely and enough holistic information is presented with the model of Short Term Road Ice Prediction, which gives information for quality decision making. Sodobna kompleksnost managementa je povezana s sprejemanjem (bolj ali manj) pomembnih odločitev. Te so po- sledica velikega, mnogokrat (žal) neuporabnega števila informacij. Njihovo selekcioniranje - izbor samo tistih kakovostnih, tj. bistvenih za konkretno problematiko managerskega odločanje je velik problem. Pri tem lahko pomaga sistemski pristop oz. sistemsko razmišljanje. Vemo, da odločanje zgolj na intuiciji (pa naj bo ta še tako dobra), ni več dovolj, zlasti v času globalnega poslovanja. Zato mo- rajo imeti managerji še ustrezen kapital vednosti in znanja. Ta je sinergijska kompozicija tako prirojenih talentov, čustev, spo- sobnosti kot tudi pridobljenih znanj in izkušenj. DNT ta kapital vednosti in znanja postavlja v funkcijo managemeta odločanja, tj. za lažje in celovitejše obvladovanju informacij potrebnih za kakovostno, tj. učinkovito in uspešno razreševanje problemov. Pri tem managerjem omogoča, da zmorejo biti (bolj kot sicer) ustvarjalni, sodelovalni in interdisciplinarni. Pomeni, da znajo v procesih odločanja sinergijsko kombinirati teorijo in prakso, takšno, kot je npr. tematika našega članka. Kakovost, tj. celovitost managerskih odločitev ustvarja konkurenčne prednosti. To lahko tudi potrdimo na praktičnem primeru odločanja o preventivnih (varnostnih) ukrepih v zimskem času (posipavanje in pluženje cest). Slednje kaže velik pomen kakovostnih, tj. pravočasnih in dovolj celovitih informacij za kakovostno odločanje, ki nam jih daje predstavljeni model Kratkoročna napoved nastanka poledice.

We humans regularly face problems, conflicts, and crises. Are we able to recognize them in time and requisitely holistically to comprehend, prevent, or solve them, at least? Often we do try to solve problems / problematiques, conflicts, and crises in an efficient and effective, hence systemic way. Unfortunately, we find again and again, that in our behavior, action, life practice, we are too narrow-minded, one-sided, remaining on the level of a single specialized expertise and profession only. Therefore we lack interdisciplinary, co-operative and creative approaches; innovation lacks. Briefly, we often find that we are not meeting the law of requisite holism. This makes us unable to solve our "difficulties" in a satisfactory and long-term style. Dialectical network thinking is a new methodology able to help us in such efforts. Redno se ljudje srečujemo z bolj ali manj zapletenimi problemi, iz njih ali zaradi njih nastajajočimi konflikti in krizami. Ali smo jih sposobni pravočasno in dovolj celovito dojeti, da bi jih preprečili, razrešili ali vsaj obvladali? Mnogokrat se sicer skušamo lotevati razreševanja nastalih problemov/problematik, konfliktov ter kriz na učinkovit in uspešen, tj. sistemski način. Žal pa vedno bolj in vedno znova ugotavljamo, da smo pri našem ravnanju (= delovanju, življenjski praksi...) "preozki" - enostranski, zgolj na nivoju posameznih (specialističnih) znanj in strok, zato nismo interdisciplinarni, sodelovalni in kreativni niti inovativni. Skratka, mnogokrat ugotovimo, da nismo dovolj (= potrebno in zadostno) celoviti. To nam povzroča, da vseh navedenih zapletenih "težav" ne zmoremo zadovoljivo in trajno obvladovati oz. razreševati. Dialektično omrežno razmišljanje je nova metodologija, ki zmore pri tem pomagati.
