The modified logistic regression (Morais-rodrigues et al., 2020) was used to classify breast cancer subtypes using all microarray database samples. A stabilizing term, that allows the assignment of values to αi∗ parameters, was inserted in this methodology and with that, during the derivation there is the insertion of the identity matrix (positive defined) which added to the other semi-defined part, results in a positive defined matrix, which has auto values > 0 and determinant > 0, square matrix is full rank if it is reversible (determinant > 0) , which results in a single solution. In the results it was observed that some genes were located topologically in the extremities after plotting the parameters αi∗, these parameters are related to the expression of genes with a suppressor or oncogenic profile in breast cancer, and with genes not studied yet. Some of these genes were found in gene regulatory networks from the search of Iglesias-Martinez et al. (2016), and S-score values were associated with these genes, negative value S-score is indicative of tumor suppressing or reduced gene activity and the positive value S-score is indicative of oncogene or increased gene activity (de Souza et al., 2014). In view of the importance of these genes, this article provides a literary review of them.

Staphylococcus aureus is the main etiological agent of mastitis in small ruminants worldwide. This disease has a difficult cure and possible relapse, leading to significant economic losses in production, milk quality and livestock. This study performed comparative genomic analyses between 73 S. aureus genomes from different hosts (human, bovine, pig and others). This work isolated and sequenced 12 of these genomes from ovine. This study contributes to the knowledge of genomic specialization and the role of specific genes in establishing infection in ovine mastitis-associated S. aureus. The genomes of S. aureus isolated from sheep maintained a higher representation when grouped with clonal complexes 130 and 133. The genomes showed high genetic similarity, the species pan-genome consisting of 4200 genes (central = 2008, accessory = 1559 and unique = 634). Among these, 277 unique genes were related to the genomes isolated from sheep, with 39.6 % as hypothetical proteins, 6.4 % as phages, 6.4 % as toxins, 2.9 % as transporters, and 44.7 % as related to other proteins. Furthermore, at the pathogen level, they showed 80 genes associated with virulence factors and 19 with antibiotic resistance shared in almost all isolates. Although S. aureus isolated from ovine showed susceptibility to antimicrobials in vitro, ten genes were predicted to be associated with antibiotic inactivation and efflux pump, suggesting resistance to gentamicin and penicillin. This work may contribute to identifying genes acquired by horizontal transfer and their role in host adaptation, virulence, bacterial resistance, and characterization of strains affecting ovine.

The Brucellaceae family comprises microorganisms similar both phenotypically and genotypically, making it difficult to identify the etiological agent of these infections. This study reports the first isolation, identification, and characterization of Pseudochrobactrum saccharolyticum (strain 115) from Latin America. Strain 115 was isolated in 2007 from a bovine in Brazil and was initially classified as Brucella spp. by classical microbiological tests and bcsp31 PCR. The antimicrobial susceptibility of strain 115 was tested against drugs used to treat human brucellosis by minimal inhibitory concentration test. Subsequently, the whole genome of the strain was sequenced, assembled, and characterized. Phylogenetic trees built from 16S rRNA and recA gene sequences enabled the classification of strain 115 as Pseudochrobactrum spp. Phylogenomic analysis using Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms and Average Nucleotide Identity allowed the classification of the strain as P. saccharolyticum. Additionally, a Tetra Correlation Search identified one related genome from the same species, which was compared with strain 115 by analyzing genomic islands. This is the first identification and whole-genome sequence of P. saccharolyticum in Latin America and highlights a challenge in the diagnosis of bovine brucellosis, which could be solved by including the sequencing of 16S rRNA and recA genes in routine diagnostics.

Resumo Profissionais que atuam em hospitais/maternidades enfrentam muitos desafios no atendimento a mulheres que estão vivenciando óbitos fetais, isso porque o habitual nesses locais é lidar com nascimento e vida. Nesse contexto, o objetivo deste estudo foi compreender a perspectiva de profissionais de saúde sobre o parto e o pós-parto de mulheres com diagnóstico de óbito fetal. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa orientada pela perspectiva construcionista; foram realizadas entrevistas semidirigidas com profissionais que atuam em um hospital/maternidade do estado de São Paulo. A análise discursiva indicou que as/os profissionais de saúde se identificam com o luto das mulheres e das famílias, mas não conseguem se aproximar delas e oferecer intervenções terapêuticas para além da medicalização. Desse modo, é fundamental investir na formação profissional para lidar com a morte, nos cursos de graduação em saúde e nos de educação continuada, nas maternidades e casas de parto. Resumen Los profesionales que trabajan en hospitales / maternidades enfrentan muchos desafíos en el cuidado de mujeres que están sufriendo muerte fetal, porque lo que se acostumbra en estos lugares es lidiar con el nacimiento y la vida. En este contexto, el objetivo de este estudio fue comprender la perspectiva de los profesionales de la salud sobre el parto y el puerperio de las mujeres diagnosticadas de muerte fetal. Es una investigación cualitativa guiada por la perspectiva construccionista, se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a profesionales que laboran en un hospital / maternidad del estado de São Paulo. El análisis discursivo indicó que los profesionales de la salud se identifican con el duelo de las mujeres y las familias, pero son incapaces de acercarse a ellas y ofrecer intervenciones terapéuticas más allá de la medicalización. Por ello, es fundamental invertir en formación profesional para afrontar la muerte, en cursos de pregrado en salud y en educación continua, en maternidades y centros de nacimientos. Abstract Professionals working in maternity hospitals face many challenges in the care of women who are experiencing fetal deaths, because the usual in these places is to deal with birth and life. In this context, the aim of this study was to understand the perspective of health professionals about the labor and postpartum of the women diagnosed with fetal death. This is a qualitative research guided by the constructionist perspective; semi-directed interviews were conducted with professionals working in a maternity hospital in the state of São Paulo. The discursive analysis indicated that health professionals understand the mourning of the women and families, but cannot approach them and offer therapeutic interventions beyond medicalization. This way, it is essential to invest in training actions to deal with death, in undergraduate health courses and in those of continuing education in maternity hospitals and birth centers.

Resumo Este artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa que teve por objetivo estudar a perspectiva dos homens/pais sobre o parto domiciliar e os modos como eles participaram do nascimento de seus/suas filhos/as. Realizamos entrevistas semiestruturadas com cinco homens que participaram dos partos domiciliares e do nascimento de seus filhos. A análise discursiva possibilitou identificar que os homens prepararam-se para o parto, vivenciaram muitas expectativas e aprendizagens nesse processo, enfrentaram diversos preconceitos contra o parto domiciliar e participaram ativamente do parto e do pós-parto. Concluímos que, na perspectiva dos homens/pais, o parto domiciliar é uma experiência enriquecedora que amplia as possibilidades de participação dos homens nesse evento e o exercício da paternidade durante o planejamento e o parto. Résumé Cet article présent les résultats d’une recherche qui a eu pour but d’étudier le point de vue des hommes/parents sur l’accouchement assisté à domicile et la manière dont ils ont y participé. Nous avons mené des interviews semi-structurés avec cinq hommes qui ont participé à des accouchements assistés à domicile. L’analyse discursive a permis d’identifier que les hommes se sont préparés à l’accouchement, ont vécu de nombreuses attentes et ont appris dans ce processus, ont fait face à divers préjugés contre l’accouchement à domicile et ont participé activement à l’accouchement et au post-partum. On conclut que pour les hommes/parents, l’accouchement assisté à domicile est une expérience enrichissante qui élargit les possibilités de participation des hommes à cet événement et l’exercice de la paternité pendant la planification et l’accouchement. Resumen En este artículo presentamos los resultados de una investigación que tuvo por objetivo estudiar la perspectiva de los hombres/padres sobre el parto domiciliar y los modos en que ellos participaron en el nacimiento de sus hijos/as. Realizamos entrevistas semiestructuradas con cinco hombres que participaron en los partos domiciliarios y el nacimiento de sus hijos/as. El análisis discursivo posibilitó identificar que vivenciaron muchas expectativas y aprendizajes en ese proceso; enfrentaron diversos prejuicios contra el parto domiciliar y participaron activamente en el parto y en el posparto. Concluimos que en la perspectiva de los hombres/padres el parto domiciliar es una experiencia enriquecedora que amplía las posibilidades de participación de ellos en ese evento y el ejercicio de la paternidad durante todo el proceso de planificación y del parto. Abstract This article reports the results of a research on how fathers perceive and participate in home births. For that, five men who participated in the home birth of their children underwent a semi-structured interview, whose content was analyzed by means of discourse analysis. The results indicate that, despite the prejudices against home birth faced by these men, they actively participated in childbirth and postpartum. From the male perspective, home birth is an enriching experience that increase men’s participation and widen the exercise of paternity during the whole process.

Acinetobacter baumannii is an important Gram-negative opportunistic pathogen that is responsible for many nosocomial infections. This etiologic agent has acquired, over the years, multiple mechanisms of resistance to a wide range of antimicrobials and the ability to survive in different environments. In this context, our study aims to elucidate the resistome from the A. baumannii strains based on phylogenetic, phylogenomic, and comparative genomics analyses. In silico analysis of the complete genomes of A. baumannii strains was carried out to identify genes involved in the resistance mechanisms and the phylogenetic relationships and grouping of the strains based on the sequence type. The presence of genomic islands containing most of the resistance gene repertoire indicated high genomic plasticity, which probably enabled the acquisition of resistance genes and the formation of a robust resistome. A. baumannii displayed an open pan-genome and revealed a still constant genetic permutation among their strains. Furthermore, the resistance genes suggest a specific profile within the species throughout its evolutionary history. Moreover, the current study performed screening and characterization of the main genes present in the resistome, which can be used in applied research to develop new therapeutic methods to control this important bacterial pathogen.

A. baumannii displayed an open pan-genome and revealed a still constant genetic permutation among their strains, similarly to the genera Escherichia, Klebsiella, and Pseudomonas. CONCLUSIONS Our study is the first one to evaluate the resistome of the species A. baumannii using comparative multi-omics methods. Furthermore, the resistance genes suggest a specific profile within the species throughout its evolutionary history. Moreover, the current study performed the screening and characterization of the main genes present in the resistome, which can be used in applied research for the development of new therapeutic methods to control this important bacterial pathogen.

Infectious causes of myositis are reported relatively uncommonly in horses. Among them, bacterial causes include Streptococcus equi subsp. zooepidemicus, Actinobacillus equuli, Fusobacterium spp. Staphylococcus spp, and Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis. Infection can be spread to muscles via haematogenous or extension from skin lesions. Parasitic myositis has also been documented. In this report, a 12 year-old Italian Quarter Horse mare presented with diffuse subcutaneous nodules and masses ranging from 2 × 3 to 5 × 20 cm in size, and adherent to subcutis and muscles that were first macroscopically and cytologically diagnosed as pyogranulomas. Subsequently, histological, molecular, bacteriological, and biochemical investigations were performed. All the data obtained allowed to diagnose a severe and diffuse multibacterial granulomatous myositis caused by Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis and Corynebacterium amycolatum. Following the therapy and an initial disappearance of most of the lesions together with a general improvement of the mare, the clinical condition deteriorated, and new nodules appeared. Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) and PCR techniques revealed the presence of bacteria as Glutamicibacter creatinolyticus and Dietzia spp. To the authors’ knowledge, this case report represents the first description of multibacterial granulomatous myositis due to Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis, Corynebacterium amycolatum, Glutamicibacter creatinolyticus, and Dietzia spp. in a horse reared in Italy.

Bacteria of the genusGlutamicibacterare considered ubiquitous because they can be found in soil, water and air. They have already been isolated from different habitats, including different types of soil, clinical samples, cheese and plants. Glutamicibacter creatinolyticus is a Gram-positive bacterium important to various biotechnological processes, however, as a pathogen it is associated to urinary tract infections and bacteremia. Recently,Glutamicibacter creatinolyticusLGCM 259 was isolated from a mare, which displayed several diffuse subcutaneous nodules with heavy vascularization. In this study, sequencing, genomic analysis ofG. creatinolyticusLGCM 259 and comparative analyseswere performedamong 4representatives of different members of genusfromdifferent habitats, available in the NCBI database. The LGCM 259 strain's genome carries important factors of bacterial virulence that are essential in cell viability, virulence, and pathogenicity. Genomic islands were predicted for 4 members of genusGlutamicibacter,showing ahigh number of GEIs,which may reflect a high interspecific diversity and a possible adaptive mechanism responsible for the survival of each species in its specific niche. Furthermore,G. creatinolyticusLGCM 259 sharessyntenicregions, albeit with a considerable loss of genes, in relation to the other species. In addition,G. creatinolyticusLGCM 259 presentsresistancegenes to 6 differentclasses ofantibiotics and heavy metals, such as: copper, arsenic, chromium and cobalt-zinc-cadmium.Comparative genomicsanalysescouldcontribute to the identification of mobile genetic elements particular to the speciesG. creatinolyticuscompared to other members of genus. The presence of specific regions inG. creatinolyticuscould be indicative of their rolesin host adaptation, virulence, and the characterization ofastrain that affects animals.

We describe the experience of study circles on the theme 'good obstetrics practices backed by scientific evidence' and argue that they prepared midwifery students to dialogue with hospital staff and empowered them in the process of negotiating the implementation of practices put forward by the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM). We conclude that study circles are an efficient strategy of preparing midwifery students to be active participants in the maternity care team and lead discussions of evidenced-based practice.

Methods based around statistics and linear algebra have been increasingly used in attempts to address emerging questions in microarray literature. Microarray technology is a long-used tool in the global analysis of gene expression, allowing for the simultaneous investigation of hundreds or thousands of genes in a sample. It is characterized by a low sample size and a large feature number created a non-square matrix, and by the incomplete rank, that can generate countless more solution in classifiers. To avoid the problem of the ‘curse of dimensionality’ many authors have performed feature selection or reduced the size of data matrix. In this work, we introduce a new logistic regression-based model to classify breast cancer tumor samples based on microarray expression data, including all features of gene expression and without reducing the microarray data matrix. If the user still deems it necessary to perform feature reduction, it can be done after the application of the methodology, still maintaining a good classification. This methodology allowed the correct classification of breast cancer sample data sets from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) data series GSE65194, GSE20711, and GSE25055, which contain the microarray data of said breast cancer samples. Classification had a minimum performance of 80% (sensitivity and specificity), and explored all possible data combinations, including breast cancer subtypes. This methodology highlighted genes not yet studied in breast cancer, some of which have been observed in Gene Regulatory Networks (GRNs). In this work we examine the patterns and features of a GRN composed of transcription factors (TFs) in MCF-7 breast cancer cell lines, providing valuable information regarding breast cancer. In particular, some genes whose αi ∗ associated parameter values revealed extreme positive and negative values, and, as such, can be identified as breast cancer prediction genes. We indicate that the PKN2, MKL1, MED23, CUL5 and GLI genes demonstrate a tumor suppressor profile, and that the MTR, ITGA2B, TELO2, MRPL9, MTTL1, WIPI1, KLHL20, PI4KB, FOLR1 and SHC1 genes demonstrate an oncogenic profile. We propose that these may serve as potential breast cancer prediction genes, and should be prioritized for further clinical studies on breast cancer. This new model allows for the assignment of values to the αi ∗ parameters associated with gene expression. It was noted that some αi ∗ parameters are associated with genes previously described as breast cancer biomarkers, as well as other genes not yet studied in relation to this disease.

espanolEl objetivo de esta investigacion fue el de identificar y analizar los factores asociados a las muertes fetales intrauterinas desde los registros medicos de un hospital publico en la region metropolitana de Sao Paulo, de 2010 a 2015. Metodo: Este es un estudio exploratorio descriptivo y retrospectivo. Resultados: El analisis de los registros medicos permitio identificar que la edad gestacional al momento de la muerte fetal estuvo mayoritariamente entre 28 y 37 semanas, el peso de la mayoria de los bebes fue superior a 2000 g y las patologias predominantes fueron las sindromes hipertensivos. Conclusion: Dada la posibilidad de identificacion temprana y monitoreo de tales patologias por la atencion primaria en la atencion prenatal es esencial invertir en atencion prenatal, a fin de prevenir la muerte fetal, asi como mejorar los registros en las fichas clinicas e implementar acciones para monitoreo de la muerte fetal. EnglishThe objective of this research was to identify and analyze the factors associated with intrauterine fetal deaths from the medical records of a public hospital in the metropolitan region of Sao Paulo, between 2010 and 2015. Method: This is a descriptive and retrospective exploratory study. Results: The analysis of the medical records allowed us to identify that the gestational age at the time of fetal death was mostly between 28 and 37 weeks, the weight of the majority of babies was over 2000 grams and the predominant pathologies were hypertensive syndromes. Given the possibility of early identification and monitoring of such pathologies in prenatal care these deaths could have been avoided. Conclusion: It is essential to invest in prenatal care, in order to prevent fetal death, as well as to improve clinical records and implement actions to monitor fetal death. portuguesO objetivo dessa pesquisa foi identificar e analisar os fatores associados aos obitos fetais intrauterinos a partir dos registros nos prontuarios medicos, de um hospital publico da regiao metropolitana de Sao Paulo, no periodo de 2010 a 2015. Metodo: Realizou-se estudo exploratorio descritivo e retrospectivo. Resultados: A analise de prontuarios permitiu identificar que a idade gestacional, quando da ocorrencia do obito fetal, majoritariamente estava entre 28 e 37 semanas, o peso da maioria dos bebes estava acima de 2000g e as patologias predominantes foram as sindromes hipertensivas. Conclusoes: Dada a possibilidade de identificacao precoce e monitoramento de tais patologias pela atencao basica na assistencia ao pre-natal, concluiu-se que e fundamental investir nestes servicos, com vistas a prevencao do obito fetal, bem como na melhoria dos registros nos prontuarios e na implementacao de acoes de vigilância do obito fetal.

A partir da contribuição de pesquisadores e organismos internacionais dedicados ao estudo destas questões, este texto tem como finalidade oferecer subsídios teóricos que sustentem a proposta de que a promoção da maternidade segura requer a efetiva participação de obstetrizes e enfermeiras obstetras, profissionais que, a partir da perspectiva da promoção da saúde, podem colaborar na constituição de uma rede efetiva de cuidados, cuja premissa básica seja a atenção humanizada e baseada em evidências científicas a fim de melhorar a experiência da mulher e da família no processo de gestação, parto e pós-parto.Brazil needs to improve maternal and perinatal health care, given the high rates of morbidity, mortality and cesarean sections, the medicalization process of the female body and the violation of the sexual and reproductive rights of women during pregnancy and childbirth. OBJECTIVE: To understand the typical actions of the mother during the pregnancy of her teenage daughter. METHODS: Qualitative study, based on the theoretical-methodological framework of social phenomenology of Alfred Schütz. The data were collected in 2009, and the subjects were nine mothers of adolescent primigravidae. RESULTS: The mother of the pregnant adolescent is typified as one that reacts with surprise and disappointment to being notified of the pregnancy and who, subsequently, conforms to the new reality. In reflecting on her own experience of an adolescent mother, she has expectations to support her daughter during the pregnancy and to offer support, so that the course of her life is not impaired as a result of pregnancy. CONCLUSION: Considering the experience and expectations of the mother of the pregnant adolescent, this study could give subsidies to the planning and execution of the care for this binomial, decreasing the distance between the demands made by it and the practice of health professionals.OBJETIVO: Comprender la típica actitud de la madre frente al embarazo de su hija adolescente. MÉTODOS: Investigación de abordaje cualitativo, fundamentada en el referencial teórico-metodológico de la fenomenología social de Alfred Schütz. Los datos fueron recolectados, en el 2009, y los sujetos fueron nueve madres de adolescentes primigestas. RESULTADOS: La madre de adolescente embarazada es tipificada como aquella que reacciona con sorpresa y decepción frente a la noticia del embarazo y que, posteriormente, se conforma con la nueva realidad. Al reflexionar sobre su propia experiencia de madre en la adolescencia, tiene expectativas de apoyar a su hija en la gestación y ofrecerle soporte, para que el curso de su vida no se perjudique como consecuencia de su embarazo. CONCLUSIÓN: Considerando la vivencia y las expectativas de la madre de adolescente embarazada, este estudio puede conferir subsidios a la planificación y efectividad del cuidado a ese binomio, disminuyendo así la distancia entre las demandas presentadas y la práctica de los profesionales de salud.OBJETIVO: Compreender o típico da ação da mãe diante da gravidez da filha adolescente. MÉTODOS: Pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa, fundamentada no referencial teórico-metodológico da fenomenologia social de Alfred Schütz. Os dados foram coletados, em 2009, e os sujeitos foram nove mães de adolescentes primigestas. RESULTADOS: A mãe de adolescente grávida é tipificada como aquela que reage com surpresa e decepção à notícia da gravidez e que, posteriormente, se conforma com a nova realidade. Ao refletir sobre sua própria experiência de mãe na adolescência, tem expectativas de apoiar a filha na gestação e oferecer-lhe suporte, para que o curso de sua vida não seja prejudicado em decorrência da gravidez. CONCLUSÃO: Considerando a vivência e as expectativas da mãe de adolescente grávida, este estudo pôde conferir subsídios ao planejamento e efetivação do cuidado a esse binômio, diminuindo a distância entre as demandas por ele apresentadas e a prática dos profissionais de saúde.

O modelo de assistência ao parto e nascimento no Brasil tem sido tema de muitas discussões e estudos sobre a incorporação de práticas obstétricas que considerem a autonomia da mulher no processo de parturição. O modelo proposto pelas Casas de Parto configura-se como um cenário para esses cuidados. Este estudo voltou-se para a compreensão da vivência da mulher parturiente no contexto de uma Casa de Parto situada em São Paulo. Os dados foram coletados no período de março a outubro de 2007 e analisados à luz do referencial da Fenomenologia Social de Alfred Schütz. Sete mulheres participaram da pesquisa. Os resultados evidenciaram que a mulher que escolhe a Casa de Parto para dar à luz busca pelo cuidado humanizado e que nesse contexto ela passa por experiências positivas e negativas. Faz-se necessário discutir as políticas públicas de assistência ao parto, sua implementação e seu impacto sobre os indicadores de saúde perinatal. El modelo de atención del parto y nacimiento en Brasil ha sido tema de muchas discusiones y estudios sobre la incorporación de prácticas obstétricas que consideren la anatomía de la mujer en el proceso de parición. El modelo propuesto por las Casas de Partos se configura como un escenario para tales cuidados. Este estudio apuntó a la comprensión de la experiencia de la mujer parturienta en el contexto de una Casa de Partos situada en San Pablo. Los datos fueron obtenidos en el período de marzo a octubre de 2007 y analizados a la luz del referencial de la Fenomenología Social de Alfred Schutz. Siete mujeres participaron de la investigación, y los resultados evidenciaron que la mujer que escoge la Casa de Partos para dar a luz lo hace por el cuidado humanizado y, en este contexto, tiene experiencias positivas y negativas.. Se hace necesario discutir las políticas públicas de atención del parto, su implementación y su impacto sobre los indicadores de salud perinatal.

This study aimed to analyze the scientific production of nursing dissertations and theses with a phenomenological approach published from 1981 to 2002. A descriptive, retrospective and bibliometric research was carried out. The material analysis, which is part of the database of the catalogue Information on Nursing Research and Researchers, resulted in 217 studies, 71,9% from the master's course and 28,1% from the doctoral course. Among the obtained results, it stands out that the theoretical-philosophical reference chosen to support the data discussion found in investigations has not been used emphatically. There is a need to discuss the unveiled data, through the subjects' discourse, in the light of the philosophical reference framework mentioned in the research trajectory. Este trabajo tuvo como objetivo analizar la producción científica sobre disertaciones y tesis de enfermería con aproximación fenomenológica publicadas de 1981 a 2002. Fue una investigación del tipo descriptivo, retrospectivo y bibliométrico. El análisis del material perteneciente a la base de datos del catálogo Informaciones sobre Investigaciones y Investigadores en Enfermería resultó en 217 estudios: el 71,9% de maestría y el 28,1% del doctorado. Entre los resultados alcanzados, se destaca que el referencial teórico-filosófico elegido para soportar el análisis de datos encontrados en las investigaciones no ha sido utilizados con énfasis. Se destaca la necesidad de discutir los datos encontrados a través del discurso de los sujetos, a la luz del referencial teórico-filosófico mencionado en la trayectoria de investigación. Este estudo teve por objetivo analisar a produção científica sobre dissertações e teses de enfermagem com abordagem fenomenológica, publicadas de 1981 a 2002. Trata-se de pesquisa do tipo descritiva, retrospectiva e bibliométrica. A análise do material, que consta na base de dados do catálogo Informações sobre Pesquisas e Pesquisadores em Enfermagem, resultou em 217 estudos: 71,9% do curso de mestrado e 28,1% do curso de doutorado. Dentre os resultados obtidos destaca-se que o referencial teórico-filosófico escolhido para subsidiar a discussão dos dados encontrados nas investigações não tem sido utilizado com ênfase. Aponta-se a necessidade de discutir os dados desvelados, por meio dos discursos dos sujeitos, à luz do referencial teórico-filosófico, mencionado na trajetória da pesquisa.

Buscando compreender a vivência do climatério realizei pesquisa qualitativa de abordagem fenomenológica. As entrevistas foram realizadas com sete mulheres, entre 48 e 55 anos de idade, que apresentaram menopausa espontânea. Para desvelar a essência do fenômeno ser mulher vivenciando o climatério elaborei a questão norteadora: Fale-me, como é para você estar vivenciando o climatério? Dos depoimentos emergiram as Unificações Ontológicas: percebendo mudanças no seu corpo, vivenciando sentimentos de ambigüidade, conscientizando-se do mundo por meio do corpo no tempo e no espaço, refletindo sobre a sexualidade e reconhecendo novas maneiras de co-existir no mundo, que foram analisadas e interpretadas à luz do referencial teórico filosófico de Maurice Merleau-Ponty. Os resultados do estudo culminaram na elaboração de pressupostos para a pesquisa, o ensino e a assistência à mulher climatérica, que vão além do biológico, contemplando a dimensão humana existencial. Trying to understand the climacteric experience, I have accomplished qualitative survey of phenomenological approach. The interviews were accomplished with seven women, aged between 48 and 55, who have presented spontaneous menopause. In order to unveil the essence of the phenomenon "being woman experiencing the climacteric", I have prepared the guiding question: Tell me, how it sounds to you to be living the climacteric? Ontological Unifications arose from the testimonies: realizing changes in her body, experiencing feelings of ambiguity, becoming aware of the body in space and time, bethinking about the sexuality and recognizing new ways to co-exist in the world, which were analyzed and interpreted under the light of Maurice Merleau-Ponty's philosophical theoretical referential. The results of the study have culminated in the elaboration of presuppositions for the survey, the teaching and support to the climacteric woman, that go beyond the biological, contemplating the existential human dimension.

OBJECTIVE: To understand the typical actions of the mother during the pregnancy of her teenage daughter. METHODS: Qualitative study, based on the theoretical-methodological framework of social phenomenology of Alfred Schütz. The data were collected in 2009, and the subjects were nine mothers of adolescent primigravidae. RESULTS: The mother of the pregnant adolescent is typified as one that reacts with surprise and disappointment to being notified of the pregnancy and who, subsequently, conforms to the new reality. In reflecting on her own experience of an adolescent mother, she has expectations to support her daughter during the pregnancy and to offer support, so that the course of her life is not impaired as a result of pregnancy. CONCLUSION: Considering the experience and expectations of the mother of the pregnant adolescent, this study could give subsidies to the planning and execution of the care for this binomial, decreasing the distance between the demands made by it and the practice of health professionals. RESULTADOS: La madre de adolescente embarazada es tipificada como aquella que reacciona con sorpresa y decepción frente a la noticia del embarazo y que, posteriormente, se conforma con la nueva realidad. Al reflexionar sobre su propia experiencia de madre en la adolescencia, tiene expectativas de apoyar a su hija en la gestación y ofrecerle soporte, para que el curso de su vida no se perjudique como consecuencia de su embarazo.
