- Abstract
The Marine Corps MOS structure is heavily oriented to combat and combat support specialties. The need for non-military skills is less demanding but does occur frequently in the supporting establishments and higher echelons for the FMF. This study: (1) reports the requirements for civilian-oriented professional skills cited by major commands; (2) inventories the professional skill spectrum, competence, and availability of reserve officers to meet such requirements; (3) describes automated and manual reserve consultant (RESCON) systems by which command, staff, or project officers can obtain the immediate or near term services of professional qualified consultants; (4) details the manual system design; (5) present an implementation plan; and (6) provides a sample User's Manual.
