Introducción: La prescripción de antimicrobianos es un quehacer habitual en la práctica médica contemporánea, tras la pandemia de SARS-CoV-2 se ha descrito un aumento dentro del ámbito hospita-lario. Nuestro objetivo fue identificar los principales vicios de prescrip-ción inapropiada de antimicrobianos en un hospital de tercer nivel en México. Material y Métodos: Estudio de cohorte prospectivo en paciente mayores de 18 años en quienes se prescribió al menos un fármaco antimicrobiano durante su hospitalización en el Centro Médi-co “Lic. Adolfo López Mateos” entre el 1 de marzo y el 30 de abril de 2023. Los vicios de prescripción fueron identificados mediante revisión del expediente clínico y base de datos del laboratorio de microbiología, se agruparon en las siguientes categorías: Espectro redundante, aislamiento microbiológico clínicamente relevante sin co-bertura, posología inadecuada, duración inapropiada, interacciones farmacológicas peligrosas, falsos cognados, no de-escalamiento de acuerdo con susceptibilidad antimicrobiana y uso de antibióti-cos fetiche en cobertura empírica. Resultados: Se revisaron 720 cédulas de prescripción antimicrobiana en 280 pacientes, con una mediana de edad de 51 años (ric: 32 – 63 años), 47% eran hombres. Se considero como prescripción inapropiada un 31.4% (n=226) del total de cédulas, con la siguiente distribución: 20% tenían un espectro redundante, 10% aislamiento microbiológico sin cobertura, 16% posología inadecuada, 40% no de escalamiento, 40% duración inapropiada, 10% falsos cognados, 10% interacciones peligroSas y 60% uso de antimicrobianos fetiche como cobertura empírica

The incidence and distribution of coccidioidomycosis are increasing. Information scarcity is evident in Mexico, particularly in non-endemic zones and specific populations. We compared the treatment and outcomes for patients with isolated pulmonary infections and those with disseminated coccidioidomycosis, including mortality rates within six weeks of diagnosis. Of 31 CM cases, 71% were male and 55% were disseminated. For 42% of patients, there was no evidence of having lived in or visited an endemic region. All patients had at least one comorbidity, and 58% had pharmacologic immunosuppressants. The general mortality rate was 30%; without differences between disseminated and localized disease. In our research, we describe a CM with a high frequency of disseminated disease without specific risk factors and non-significant mortality. Exposure to endemic regions was not found in a considerable number of subjects. We consider diverse reasons for why this may be, such as climate change or migration.

For some time past, conceptual and technological approaches in the field of semantic knowledge graphs (ontologies) have been finding their way into the domain of technical writing, technical information management and knowledge management, with the aim of enhancing the classical classification-based methods and thereby, solving problems that either cannot or can only be solved with difficulty in form of previous approaches. As these concepts are quite new in this field, they are still subject to current research in the academic field. This paper aims at providing a microservice-based software platform to support further studies in this area. In the sense of exploratory prototyping, the platform should make it possible to research various technological and conceptual questions and to demonstrate applications derived from them, regardless of the development status of existing, proprietary productive software applications.

Semantic Correlation Rules (SCR) and microDocs are new concepts in the field of content delivery. SCR allow to define relationships between information units based on their metadata and, therefore, allow for the dynamic aggregation of microDocs. The creation of SCR heavily relies on the capabilities of modern content management systems (CMS) or ontology editors. The evaluation and visualization of the emerging microDocs, on the other hand, relies on the capabilities of content delivery portals (CDP). At this time, the support of both concepts in most software solutions currently being used, is only partly existent. This paper aims to demonstrate, how these currently existing limitations can be overcome, to reveal important factors to be considered and to showcase future possibilities of the aforementioned concepts. For this purpose, we developed a series of prototypes and conceptional visuals regarding creation of SCR, aggregation of microDocs and their visual appearance taking human perception into account.

Planetary rings are observed not only around giant planets 1 , but also around small bodies such as the Centaur Chariklo 2 and the dwarf planet Haumea 3 . Up to now, all known dense rings were located close enough to their parent bodies, being inside the Roche limit, where tidal forces prevent material with reasonable densities from aggregating into a satellite. Here we report observations of an inhomogeneous ring around the trans-Neptunian body (50000) Quaoar. This trans-Neptunian object has an estimated radius 4 of 555 km and possesses a roughly 80-km satellite 5 (Weywot) that orbits at 24 Quaoar radii 6,7 . The detected ring orbits at 7.4 radii from the central body, which is well outside Quaoar's classical Roche limit, thus indicating that this limit does not always determine where ring material can survive. Our local collisional simulations show that elastic collisions, based on laboratory experiments 8 , can maintain a ring far away from the body. Moreover, Quaoar's ring orbits close to the 1/3 spin-orbit resonance 9 with Quaoar, a property shared by Chariklo's 2,10,11 and Haumea's 3 rings, suggesting that this resonance plays a key role in ring confinement for small bodies., (© 2023. Haumea-one of the four known trans-Neptunian dwarf planets-is a very elongated and rapidly rotating body. In contrast to other dwarf planets, its size, shape, albedo and density are not well constrained. The Centaur Chariklo was the first body other than a giant planet known to have a ring system, and the Centaur Chiron was later found to possess something similar to Chariklo's rings. Here we report observations from multiple Earth-based observatories of Haumea passing in front of a distant star (a multi-chord stellar occultation). Secondary events observed around the main body of Haumea are consistent with the presence of a ring with an opacity of 0.5, width of 70 kilometres and radius of about 2,287 kilometres. The ring is coplanar with both Haumea's equator and the orbit of its satellite Hi'iaka. The radius of the ring places it close to the 3:1 mean-motion resonance with Haumea's spin period-that is, Haumea rotates three times on its axis in the time that a ring particle completes one revolution. The occultation by the main body provides an instantaneous elliptical projected shape with axes of about 1,704 kilometres and 1,138 kilometres. Combined with rotational light curves, the occultation constrains the three-dimensional orientation of Haumea and its triaxial shape, which is inconsistent with a homogeneous body in hydrostatic equilibrium. Haumea's largest axis is at least 2,322 kilometres, larger than previously thought, implying an upper limit for its density of 1,885 kilograms per cubic metre and a geometric albedo of 0.51, both smaller than previous estimates. In addition, this estimate of the density of Haumea is closer to that of Pluto than are previous estimates, in line with expectations. No global nitrogen- or methane-dominated atmosphere was detected.
