Emotions play an integral role in learning. It is an effective response to a stimulus which can be experienced felt along a positive-negative continuum. Achievement emotions arise from academic activities, and can activate or de-activate educational motivation responses. Based on Control Value Theory, this study examined how negative achievement emotions impact high school students' decision to pursue tertiary education, and what were the contributing factors of these emotions. One thousand five hundred and forty-seven high school students participated in the survey, and data were solicited via established inventories as well as an open ended question. Quantitatively, Partial Least Squares structural equation modelling found boredom and test anxiety to significantly lower students' decision to pursue tertiary education. The precursors to negative achievement emotions stem from examinations and assessments, struggle in lessons, learning itself, parental expectations to excel, and mental health issues. Findings demonstrated the potential of emotions in influencing students' value orientation with respect to tertiary education. As the study is based on a post-pandemic context, implications of findings are discussed in view of the underlying post-pandemic challenges accompanied by recommendation to stakeholders.

DNA was extracted by boiling method. IS6110 PCR method by a specific pair of primers designed to amplify 123bp and 245bp sequences of the insertion sequence, 6110, in the M. tuberculosis genome was used to analyze sputum samples."n"nResults: 32 out of 248 (12.9%) of samples had positive culture. PCR yielded a sensitivity of 93.8% and specificity of 99.1% for the diagnosis of TB patients with TB confirmed by culture. There were two out of 32 (6.3%) PCR-positive cases among the patients with non-TB disease."n"nConclusion: The findings of the present study indicate that Multiplex PCR may provide a faster method of detecting tuberculosis, thus enhancing diagnostic procedures and we conclude that the performance of an IS6110 PCR assay is valuable in the rapid diagnosis of tuberculosis.

This study is aimed to investigate and compare how the work schedule of bus drivers in urban areas can have impact on bus drivers' control on speed and acceleration. This study also assesses the influence of bus driving behavior on fuel consumption. The work schedule assessed in this research is morning shift (6.00 am to 3.00 pm), afternoon shift (3.00 pm to midnight) and direct shift (6.00 am to midnight). The result from this study indicated that for all driving shifts, drivers spent more than 70% of their driving time for accelerating and braking. Drivers were also significantly driving faster and applying sharper acceleration when accelerating and braking during morning shift. The variation of bus driving behavior between different working shift hours were found to influence bus fuel consumption significantly.

The main purose of this study is to analysis the speeding behavior during approaching the U-turn facility road segment based on driving simulation test. In previous studies, it has been shown that speeding behavior is a complex problem that requires a full understanding of drivers’ attitudes and beliefs. Such understanding is needed to improve the speeding behavior of drivers that comes from the effective design and interventions. Therefore, this study will analyse the speeding behavior in approaching the U-turn facility as a key variable in this study which may affect the collision result. Totally 50 participants were recruited in this experiments based on driving simulator. The scenarios and road environment in the driving simulator were based on site location at FT050 Jalan Batu Pahat – Kluang, Johor. Results shows significant increase in speed of up to 40.01% more than the speed limit at the approaching the Uturn facility road segment. The paper concluded that speeding behavior during approaching the U-turn facility road segment based on driving simulation test will trigger significant increasing of speed.

Forty-six cases of patients suffering from acne cystica (conglobata) were treated by low-dose dapsone plus folic acid (1 mg/day). This study has been performed on patients that had no response to other treatments. Several essential and careful tests and examinations were performed on patients before and during treatment. Ten patients of 46 above-mentioned cases were excluded from treatment protocol, because of the reasons that have been mentioned in this article. In 33 cases of 36 patients that recieved the treatment, the cystic lesions were disappeared without any exception and had satisfactory response to treatment.

Research shows that students can significantly improve their understanding and retention of topics presented in an engineering course when discussions of theoretical and mathematical approaches are combined with active-learning exercises involving hands-on physical experiments. In this paper, the design and application of a beam testing system (BTS) to promote experiential learning in mechanics of materials are discussed. Students in the experimental group were given the opportunity to verify their analytical predictions on two separate projects by conducting experiments using the BTS, whereas those in the comparison group only performed the analysis part. Based on statistical analysis of the performance of the two student groups on a common exam problem, the experiential learning is found to have a positive but limited impact. Moreover, the students' responses to an anonymous survey indicate that the students in the experimental group generally had a higher degree of satisfaction with the class projects than those in the comparison group.

Background: Olfaction has recently found clinical value in prediction, discrimination and prognosis of some neurodegenerative disorders. However, data originating from standard tests on olfactory dysfunction in Huntington's disease are limited to odour identification, which is only one domain of olfactory perceptual space. Method: Twenty-five patients and 25 age- and gender-matched controls were evaluated by the Sniffin' Sticks test in three domains of odour threshold, odour discrimination, odour identification and the sum score of them. Patients' motor function was assessed based on the Unified Huntington's Disease Rating Scale. Results: Compared with controls, patients' scores of all olfactory domains and their sum were significantly lower. Besides, our patients' odour threshold and odour discrimination impairments were more frequently impaired than odour identification impairment (86 per cent and 81 per cent vs 34 per cent, respectively). Conclusion: Olfactory impairment is a common finding in patients with Huntington's disease; it is not limited to odour identification but is more pronounced in odour discrimination and odour threshold. Facial feature recognition is an important subject in computer vision with numerous applications. The human face plays a significant role in social interaction and personology. Valuable information such as identity, age, gender, and emotions can be revealed via facial features. The purpose of this paper is to present a technique for detecting age, smile, and gender from facial images. A multi-task deep learning (MT-DL) framework was proposed that can simultaneously estimate three important features of the human face with remarkable accuracy. Additionally, the proposed approach aims to reduce the number of trainable network parameters while leveraging the combination of features from different layers to increase the overall accuracy. The conducted tests demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms recent advanced techniques in all three accuracy criteria. Moreover, it was demonstrated that multi-task learning (MTL) is capable of improving the accuracy by 1.55% in the smile task, 2.04% in the gender task, and 3.52% in the age task even with less available data, by utilizing tasks with more available data. Furthermore, the trainable parameters of the network in the MTL mode for estimating three tasks simultaneously increase only by about 40% compared to the single-task mode. The proposed method was evaluated on the IMDB-WIKI and GENKI-4K datasets and produced comparable accuracy to the state-of-the-art methods in terms of smile, age detection, and gender classification. Hand hygiene is a handwashing method that significantly lowers the likelihood of pathogens (dangerous germs) on the hands. While assistant healthcare workers are part of the healthcare team, they always deal with patients' care but did not get proper training like nurses or doctors before becoming assistant healthcare This study is to assess the relationship between level of knowledge and five moments hand hygiene practice among assistants healthcare in one of the teaching hospitals in Malaysia. A cross-sectional research methodology was used; 154 Assistants healthcarewere chosen using random number generators after the sample size was calculated. The Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice on Hand Hygiene questionnaire used was adopted from WHO publications. The ANOVA revealed a significant effect of Level of Knowledge on Level of Practice (F(1, 152) = 3.416, p = 0.006). Specifically, for each unit increase in Level of Knowledge, Level of Practice increased by 57.725 units (β = 57.725, p = 0.006). These findings emphasise the need for targeted interventions and training programmes aimed at bridging the knowledge-practice divide and eventually raising hand hygiene compliance in the medical setting

Both excessive and insufficient workloads can cause stress among employees. It has been established that as tasks take longer to complete, employee happiness tends to decrease, which can significantly impact their overall health and mental well-being. The primary objective of this study is to examine the relationship between age and working conditions concerning job stress among registered nurses in a government hospital in Sabah. The quantitative survey approach was employed, involving 60 registered nurses with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Purposive sampling was utilized to ensure a sample that would provide comprehensive insights and discoveries into the factors influencing job stress among nurses in this specific setting. The analysis indicated that there was no statistically significant relationship between age, working conditions as demographics, and job stress (p = 0.499). The average stress level reported by respondents was 15.7 ± 2.32379 on a scale where higher scores indicate greater stress. This finding suggests that the observed demographic characteristics, including age and specific working conditions, did not correlate with higher or lower levels of job stress among the nurses surveyed. Based on the survey results, it can be concluded that age and the specific working conditions studied do not appear to significantly influence the experience of job stress among registered nurses at the government hospital in Sabah. This implies that other factors not explored in this study may have a more pronounced impact on job stress levels within this population. Future research could explore additional variables or consider different methodologies to further understand the complexities of job stress among healthcare professionals.

Psychological distress among students leads to less productivity, reduced quality of life, and learning difficulties and may negatively affect patient care. Objective: The main aim of this study is to identify stress factors among UMS students.Methodology: A cross-sectional descriptive, universal sampling of 152 student nurses was included in this study. Respondents were given a self-answered structured questionnaire conclusive of socio-demographic data, the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), and factors associated with stress. A descriptive analysis was used to analyze the data. Results & Findings: Out of 152 students, the majority have moderate stress (83.6 %), about 12.5 % have low-stress levels, and only 3.9 % of respondents have high stress levels. The results show that students experienced or reported significantly higher academic factors (24.9 %), followed by interpersonal factors (24.6 %) Conclusion: According to study findings, stress is most prevalent among nursing students and is attributed to academic and interpersonal causes. It is advised to use proactive learning strategies, peer and staff mentoring and modeling, professional networks and social support, psychological support, and faculty role and behavior.

The country has been facing the Covid-19 crisis that has affected the rest of the world in this decade. Numerous approaches and alternatives are implemented by the government to overcome this pandemic either controlled or stopped utterly. In order for the government to succeed, the emphasis on breaking the chain of infection of Covid-19 and the direction of the Movement Control Order (MCO) must be strengthened. Thus, the main goal of this study is to identify the level of patient’s knowledge regarding Covid-19 and Movement Control Order as well as to analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge about Covid-19 and Movement Control Order () among patients who come for treatment at the Kinarut Health clinic. Methodology: This study applies the quantitative research methodology, specifically surveys through questionnaires, whereas the sampling method used is systematic sampling with 200 patients in the Kinarut area. Analysis of instrument evaluation and sampling technique is also discussed in this study. Analysis: The finding showed that the patients' knowledge level about Covid-19 was at a moderate level with a mean value = 3.610, SD = 0.345. The level of knowledge relating to Movement Control Order (MCO) is also at a moderate level with a mean value = 3.610, SP = 0.345. Result: The correlation analysis showed that there is a strong relationship between the level of knowledge about Covid-19 and the level of knowledge of the Movement Control Order, with a correlation value of r = 0.71, p> 0.05. Thus, the results of this analysis show that there is a strong relationship between the variables of the knowledge level of Covid-19 and Movement Control Order in breaking the chain of infection Covid-19, particularly among patients who are living around Kinarut.
