Abstract

The article explores the status of the U.S. libraries at the time of the presidential election in 2012. It demonstrates how libraries can be politically engaged without bias towards a particular party, noting that libraries itself is an example of grassroots democracy. It highlights the US Presidential Libraries, a national network of the libraries of former presidents. It explores the role of the National Archives in Washington, D.C. as the classrooms of democracy.

Abstract

This report documents the results of a test program to investigate the performance of the fluidic subsystem when subjected to environmental extremes. Twenty-one fluidic digital to analog convertors were subjected to the environments of High Temperature, Low Temperature, Acceleration, Vibration, Acoustical Noise and Altitude, and their performance compared to baseline data. Abstract

A program was conducted to design, build and test a series of laminar angular rate sensors (LARS), operating on gas, to determine the performance effect of various geometric parameters. The concept of flow source supply, positive pressure control ports and vent isolation from atmosphere were evaluated. Performance of the optimized LARS is compared to a baseline device. A feasibility model of a dual axis LARS was developed. (Author)
