Background: Although considerable progress has been made over the last decades, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) incidence and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) mortality rates have remarkably increased in the Brazilian Amazon region. Here, we employed temporal analysis to determine the impact of public policies on the HIV epidemic in the state of Pará, Brazil, which has the second highest HIV incidence rate in the Amazon region. Design and methods: This is an ecological study conducted in the state of Pará, employing secondary data of HIV/AIDS cases notified to the Information System for Notifiable Diseases, 2007-2018. The following epidemiological variables were collected: year of notification, municipality of residence, age, sex, education, exposure category, and HIV/AIDS diagnostic criteria. The study population was composed of 21,504 HIV/AIDS cases. The HIV/AIDS incidence rates were analyzed employing the temporal trend analysis (TTA) followed by the chi-square test and residue analysis to determine the association between the epidemiological variables and time series periods. Results: A total of 50% of the notifications were composed of AIDS cases. TTA identified two periods in HIV/AIDS incidence, with stabilization of cases in the first period (G1, 2007-2012) and an upward trend in the second period (G2, 2012-2018). The most prevalent epidemiological characteristics in G2 (versus G1) were as follows: young people, brown skin color, higher schooling, and homosexuals. Conclusion:s Public policy to control HIV infection in the Brazilian Amazon region has been partially effective. HIV screening tests and treatment should be made widely available to eradicate HIV infection in the Amazon region by 2030. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this research wasto identify in the literature the risk factors of the Nursing Risk Assessment of Infection present in patients with Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome hospitalized. This is an integrative review, carried out in the PubMed, SCOPUS, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature databases, Latin American Literature in Health Sciences, Scientific Electronic Library Online. We selected 10 articles that met the inclusion criteria. Case-control studies, clinical, transverse, cohort and descriptive studies were identified. Five of the 19 factors present in the nursing diagnosis "Risk of infection", indicated in the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association, were: immunosuppression (considered the most prevalent present in 70% of the studies), malnutrition, peristalsis, invasive procedure and chronic disease. It is concluded that the knowledge about the risk factors in the studied population is susceptible, so a guide is offered for targeted and effective assistance in order to reduce risks. - Abstract
The study aimed to evaluate in the scientific literature the impact of educational actions on HIV/AIDS prevention among adolescents in schools. This is an integrative review of the literature, carried out in databases, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, Scientific Electronic Library Online, Database of Nursing and Collects -SUS, in which 20 articles were searched and included through the following descriptors: Health Education; Adolescent health; HIV; Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome. It was observed that there are challenges in relation to the biopsychosocial factors of the students, some methodologies used and how to evaluate these actions, however it was possible to identify that use the school as the main space of actions and use active methodologies, especially peer education, leads to positive results in reducing risk behaviors, breaking of taboos and prejudices, increasing reproductive health skills and adherence to condom use. The most effective way to achieve positive results in educational actions is through active methodologies in the school environment, with respect to biopsychosocial aspects, to reduce new cases of HIV / AIDS, negative impacts and show the relevance of the knowledge acquired in these actions., O estudo objetivou avaliar na literatura científica os impactos das ações educativas sobre prevenção de HIV/AIDS entre adolescentes nas escolas. - Abstract
Aim: To evaluate the influence of social and clinical aspects in terms of medication adherence of patients co-infected with HIV/Tuberculosis. Method: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study using a quantitative approach, performed in a public institution in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, in the period from August 2014 to January 2015, with 34 users co-infected with HIV/TB. The instruments used were: sociodemographic and clinical assessment; the Morisky-Green test and evaluation of the difficulty level for adherence. Results: adherence to treatment was significantly associated with the time of diagnosis for HIV over five years, with moderate difficulty regarding medication adherence (p=0.019). Conclusion: professionals need to consider the compliance with treatment in the general context in which users are found, including the associated factors and the actions planned by the service significantly influencing the treatment outcome.
