Plant extracts can be therapeutic alternatives for depression and anxiety. However, some plant-derived preparations can also be toxic. Moringa oleifera leaves are used in human nutrition due to their high nutritional value and antioxidant activity. This study investigated a saline extract from M. oleifera leaves (MoLE) for secondary metabolites, proteins, cytotoxicity, hemolytic activity, in vivo acute oral toxicity, and neurobehavioral effects. MoLE contains flavonoids (rutin and vitexin), lectin, and a trypsin inhibitor. It is neither cytotoxic nor hemolytic for human cells and did not present acute oral toxicity (2000 mg/kg) to mice. The elevated plus maze test showed that MoLE (500, 1000, and 2000 mg/kg, p.o.) significantly increased the number of entries as well as the time spent by mice in open arms, while it decreased the number of entries and the time spent in closed arms when compared to the control. MoLE (500, 1000, and 2000 mg/kg, p.o.) reduced immobility time of mice in the tail suspension and forced swimming tests, compared to the control. The anxiolytic-like effect of MoLE is possibly mediated by a GABA mimetic action once it is prevented by pre-treatment with flumazenil. The present study demonstrated that MoLE has antidepressant and anxiolytic effects in mice and is a promising herbal medicine.

Moringa oleifera Lam. (horseradish tree) leaves demonstrate high nutritional value, are rich in proteins, and are widely used in folk medicine and food. This study investigated the presence of secondary metabolites and antinutritional proteins in leaf extract (LE) and the protein-rich fraction (PRF) derived from M. oleifera leaves, as well as the cytotoxicity to human cells, hemolytic activity, and in vivo acute toxicity and genotoxicity in mice. The flavonoids rutin and vitexin as well as trypsin inhibitors and lectins were detected in LE and PRF. Neither sample demonstrated toxicity against human peripheral blood mononuclear cells and both showed low hemolytic action. In vivo, LE and PRF did not show antinutritional effects and caused no death. The hematological parameters of the animals in the treated group were similar to those of the control. A significant increase in the serum levels of alanine aminotransferase and a discrete leukocyte infiltration with cytoplasmic vacuolization of the hepatocytes in the liver were detected in LE-treated animals. The preparations were not genotoxic or mutagenic. This study shows that LE and PRF are not antinutritional agents and presented low acute toxicity and no genotoxicity or mutagenicity. The present study contributes to the determination of the safety of using M. oleifera leaf proteins.

In this paper, I examine the problem of the emergence of non-existential phenomena in the field of historical existence. According to hermeneutic ontological pluralism outlined in the fundamental ontology of Being and Time, life and existence are two autonomous and irreducible modes of being. Based on the results of the recent science of sleep, I will emphasize the relevance of a formal indication, formulated by Heidegger in the Fundamental Concepts of Metaphysics, to explain the ontological commitments entailed by the interpretation of a special kind of phenomenal experience in the stage of deep dreamless sleep. Based on the concepts of existential feeling and bodily feeling, I will present the interpretation of the experience in dreamless sleep as the feeling of being alive. This interpretation leads to the conclusion that the ontological commitments involved in dreamless sleep reach the metaontological level, suggesting the need to elaborate a dynamic mereology of modes of being.

Este artigo apresenta uma análise da abordagem de Heidegger à dialética transcendental no contexto de sua interpretação da Crítica da Razão Pura de Kant. Inicialmente, reconstruo a interpretação fenomenológica da Crítica da Razão Pura como sendo uma fundamentação da metafísica. A seguir, apresento a compreensão de Heidegger sobre o que ele chamou de significado positivo da dialética transcendental. O foco principal de sua interpretação é a noção de ilusão transcendental. Concluo este artigo examinando a noção de uma ilusão original, que Heidegger concebe como mais básica do que a ilusão transcendental examinada por Kant. Enfatizo que as subreções transcendentais que Kant explicou na dialética transcendental são interpretadas por Heidegger como casos particulares de uma confusão mais geral, cuja origem pertence à própria estrutura da compreensão do ser.

In this paper, I present a hermeneutic version of ontological pluralism, addressing the question of the discursive articulation of ways of being. The first section presents the notion of a pluralism of ways of being as a restriction of an ontological monism. The second section puts forward a criticism of Kris McDaniel’s proposal of understanding ways of being as kinds of quantifiers. The third section analyses the notion of way of being as a modal concept, explaining ways of being as internal possibilities endowed with a normative force regarding the identity-conditions of entities. The fourth one is a statement about the need of developing a pluralist account of the propositional reference to entities based on ontological pluralism. The fifth section deals with the issue of the discursive articulation of ways of being. The two last sections present a hypothesis concerning a semantic condition for an adequate articulation of ways of being. I argue for a kind of finitude-sensitivity in the semantics of the discursive articulation of internal possibilities, which implies the requirement of developing a hermeneutic notion of silence that may properly work in the discursive articulation of ways of being.

In this paper I approach the hermeneutic of living nature as suggested by Martin Heidegger in The Fundamental Concepts of Metaphysics. On the basis of complex hermeneutic procedures, Heidegger held the well-known thesis about the animal’s poverty of world. My hypothesis is that the relevance of this thesis should be minimized for the sake of the acknowledgment of a poverty in the world proper to human beings. Poverty in the world refers to the main result of a comparison between the structure of the intentionality of animals and the transcendental-formative structure of human existence. Such a comparison does not only point out the lack of the “something as something-structure” in the intentionality of animals, but also the necessary fragmentation in the human sharing of life’s intentionality. From here results a very important semantic limitation, for every meaningful speech about animal life should take into account the incompleteness in the sharing of the intentional spheres of living beings and humans. I conclude suggesting a set of questions that should be focused in a constructive hermeneutic of living nature. Key words: Heidegger, hermeneutic of nature, lfe, intentionality.

O Batólito Catolé do Rocha, situado no Domínio Rio Piranhas-Seridó da Província de Borborema (Nordeste (NE) do Brasil), é um importante representante do magmatismo ediacarano pós-colisional que acometeu essa região. Ele inclui sienogranitos e quartzo sienitos metaluminosos a ligeiramente peraluminosos, rochas básico-intermediárias e, subordinadamente, diques e/ou bolsões de microgranitos menores. Esse batólito é tido como representante da suíte cálcio-alcalina de alto K, que inclui principalmente granitos de afinidade química próxima aos de tipo-I caledonianos. Contudo, são diversas as evidências litoquímicas que aproximam o batólito aos magmas de tipo-A. As rochas graníticas são álcali-cálcicas a alcalinas, possuem caráter ferroano, concentrações significativas de elementos litófilos de raio grande (LILE) e de alto potencial iônico (HFSE) e enriquecimento de terras-raras leves (LREE) sobre pesados (HREE). Suas assinaturas químicas permitem classificá-los como granitos de tipo‑A2 pós-colisionais. Estimativas geotermobarométricas apontam cristalização sob pressões de 4,6 – 6,3 kbar (~16 – 24 km de profundidade) e temperaturas entre 950 – 750°C, em condições de baixa fugacidade de oxigênio (-4 < ΔQFM < -1). Evidências químicas e distintas condições redox estimadas para os granitos e rochas básico-intermediárias do batólito sugerem que se trata de magmas distintos, com misturas do tipo mixing e mingling locais. A origem do batólito parece estar relacionada a fontes enriquecidas (metassomatizadas), com diferenciação controlada principalmente por processos de cristalização fracionada.

O processo no qual se trabalha o desenvolvimento da aprendizagem tem sido larga-mente estudado por diferentes campos de estudo. Dentro das mais variadas concepções a respeito da aprendizagem, alguns modelos sugerem a existência ou formas distintas de aprender entre os indivíduos. Todavia, essas informações passam despercebidas pelos professores que inconscientemente aumentam a ausência de reciprocidade entre modos de aprender e modos de ensinar. Neste trabalho apresentamos uma análise sobre uma entrevista feita a professores de ciências e matemática, onde trazemos informações sobre a relação entre a forma de o professor ministrar os conteúdos das ciências e da matemática e a forma de aprender dos alunos. Utilizando o inventário de estilos de aprendizagem proposto pelo psicólogo e teórico da educação David Kolb, cuja teoria é baseada na aprendizagem experiencial, são identificados os es-tilos de aprendizagem de 105 estudantes do terceiro ano do ensino médio. Através de entrevista, foram indagados professores de física, química, biologia e matemática perfazendo um total de 9 professores pesquisados sobre variáveis sócio demográficas como: formação, estrutura da escola que atua e dificuldades na realização da prá-tica pedagógica, além do conhecimento sobre as formas individuais de aprender e preferências didáticas. No geral, constatou-se que os professores de ciências e mate-mática entrevistados criam de maneira involuntária uma forma particular de ensinar e isso aliado ao pouco conhecimento a respeito dos estilos de aprendizagem, acabam por ignorar os diferentes saberes. Apesar disso, é importante destacar que houve uma compreensão por parte dos professores na intervenção aplicada, onde considerou as diferenças individuais dos alunos na aquisição de conhecimentos.

RESUMO No Curso de Inverno de 1928/29, Heidegger afirmou que a matematização irrestrita no conhecimento dos seres vivos resultaria numa falha no propósito de elaborar a ontologia da vida orgânica. No presente artigo, examino as razões que justificam essa concepção. Com base em interpretações das investigações de biólogos como Hans Driesch J. v. Uexküll e Hans Spemann, o argumento de Heidegger integra quatro passos: 1) uma abordagem mereológica do corpo orgânico, concebido como uma unidade funcional de aptidões e intrinsecamente relacionado a um ambiente; 2) uma análise formal da constituição dinâmica das aptidões, cuja estrutura pulsional consiste no atravessamento regulatório de uma dimensão; 3) uma interpretação do princípio de unificação das aptidões em termos da aptidão para comportar-se com algo em um ambiente. Esta argumentação leva a duas conclusões gerais: a matematização irrestrita implica uma descrição mecânica que supõe a desconsideração da determinação modal dos organismos; a estrutura dimensional, regulatória e protointencional das aptidões orgânicas é o fator limitante da matematização da vida.

The effect of renal insufficiency on the pharmacokinetics of etoricoxib, a selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-2, was examined in 23 patients with varying degrees of renal impairment (12 moderate [creatinine clearance between 30 and 50 mL/min/1.73 m2], 5 severe [creatinine clearance below 30 mL/min/1.73 m2], and 6 with end-stage renal disease requiring hemodialysis) following administration of single 120-mg oral doses of etoricoxib. Even the most severe renal impairment was found to have little effect on etoricoxib pharmacokinetics. The low recovery of etoricoxib in dialysate (less than 6% of the dose) supports that hemodialysis also has little effect on etoricoxib pharmacokinetics, and binding of etoricoxib to plasma proteins was generally unaffected by renal disease. Single doses of etoricoxib were generally well tolerated by patients with renal impairment. Based on pharmacokinetic considerations, dosing adjustments are not necessary for patients with any degree of renal impairment. However, because patients with advanced renal disease (creatinine clearance below 30 mL/min/1.73 m2) are likely to be very sensitive to any further compromise of renal function, and there is no long-term clinical experience in these patients, the use of etoricoxib is not recommended in patients with advanced renal disease. O presente estudo tem por objetivo investigar a promoção da alfabetização científica na atribuição de significados ao ensino dos conteúdos de física moderna e contemporânea no ensino básico. Utilizamos como alvo de investigação alunos do terceiro ano do ensino médio e livros didáticos de física aprovados pelo Plano Nacional do Livro Didático 2018. Posteriormente, sentimos a necessidade de investigar alunos da graduação para fundamentar as hipóteses apresentadas no presente artigo. A coleta das informações foi feita através de questionários aplicados aos alunos do ensino básico, no conjunto de métodos da análise de conteúdo nos livros didáticos e, por fim, a aplicação de uma Sequencia Didática Interativa em alunos do ensino superior durante um evento científico. Os resultados obtidos nos fez inferir que a falta de atribuição de significados efetivos aos conteúdos da física moderna e contemporânea pelos alunos do ensino básico está relacionada com a didática do professor de física visto que os livros didáticos interligam os conteúdos com o cotidiano. Além disso, notou-se uma possível propensão de didática voltada ao conteúdo nos futuros licenciados, visto que os resultados apresentados pelo grupo divergiram tanto dos objetivos dos documentos oficias de educação como também dos parâmetros da alfabetização científica.

No presente artigo, examino o problema da normatividade na relação com a dimensão ancestral das possibilidades legadas pelos mortos. Seguindo o projeto de uma fenomenologia da espectralidade, apresentado por Hans Ruin, esboço uma interpretação de algumas indicações formais, presentes na analítica existencial de Ser e Tempo, a respeito da atmosfera (Stimmung) do ser-com-os-mortos. O sentimento existencial que manifesta uma sintonia já ocorrida com o âmbito da ancestralidade é o respeito (Ehrfurcht): respeito para com as possibilidades que podem ser retomadas no modo da réplica a uma herança. Da análise desse sentimento, resulta que a dimensão ancestral oferece a matéria da individuação histórica, mas não contém a medida da adequada resposta às possibilidades legadas. Concluo ressaltando que o aspecto autonoético do sentimento de respeito em relação às possibilidades ancestrais revela o abandono e a vulnerabilidade dos vivos em face a uma dimensão que comanda sem abrigar em si mesma uma medida da justa resposta.

O sexto volume de Studia Heideggeriana reúne alguns dos trabalhos apresentados no III Congresso da Sociedade Iberoamericana de Estudos Heideggerianos, que aconteceu no Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, de 19 a 21 de Outubro de 2015. O tema do congresso foi apresentado na forma da pergunta de Hölderlin “Há uma medida sobre a Terra?”. O tópico foi sugerido como forma de promover estudos históricos e filológicos, mas também abordagens críticas e interpretativas sobre o problema da medida na obra de Heidegger.

Nine healthy male volunteers were studied to assess the possibility of an interaction between theophylline and nifedipine or verapamil using a randomised, crossover design. Subjects received theophylline 125 mg 8 hourly with and without nifedipine 20 mg 12 hourly and verapamil 80 mg 8 hourly. Nifedipine treatment reduced mean total theophylline clearance by 9%, due to decreased clearances via 1- and 3- demethylation. Verapamil treatment reduced mean total theophylline clearance by 14%, due to decreased clearances via 1- and 3- demethylation and 8-hydroxylation. Verapamil and nifedipine at usual clinical doses are unlikely to cause clinically significant changes in theophylline disposition. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

1. A radiometric high performance liquid chromatographic method is described for the assay of theophylline metabolism in vitro by the microsomal fraction of human liver. 2. Formation of the three metabolites of theophylline (3-methylxanthine, 1-methylxanthine and 1,3- dimethyluric acid) were linear with protein concentrations to 4 mg ml-1 and with incubation times up to 180 min. 3. The coefficients of variation for the formation of 3-methylxanthine, 1-methylxanthine and 1,3-dimethyluric acid were 1.2%, 1% and 1.6%, respectively. 4. Theophylline is metabolised by microsomal enzymes with a requirement for NADPH. 5. The mean (n = 7) Km values for 1-demethylation, 3- demethylation and 8-hydroxylation were 545, 630 and 788 microM, respectively, and the mean Vmax values were 2.65, 2.84 and 11.23 pmol min-1 mg-1, respectively. 6. There was a high correlation between the Km and Vmax values for the two demethylation pathways suggesting that the demethylations are performed by the same enzyme. 7. Two groups of six healthy male volunteers were studied to assess the possibility of an interaction between dextropropoxyphene and theophylline or tolbutamide using a randomised, crossover design. Subjects received theophylline 125 mg 8 hourly or tolbutamide 500 mg i.v. with and without dextropropoxyphene hydrochloride 65 mg 8 hourly. Theophylline 8-hydroxylation was reduced by a mean of 17% but there were no changes in theophylline 1-demethylation, theophylline 3- demethylation or tolbutamide hydroxylation. Paracetamol disposition was studied in groups of pregnant and non- pregnant women of comparable age. Paracetamol apparent oral clearance was 58% higher and elimination half-life was 28% lower in the pregnant women compared to the control group. The higher clearance in the pregnant women was due to increased activity of the glucuronidation (75% higher) and oxidative (88% higher) pathways of paracetamol metabolism. Five subjects who participated in an earlier study (Lelo et al., 1986b) of the comparative pharmacokinetics of caffeine (CA) and its primary monodemethylated metabolites paraxanthine (PX), theobromine (TB) and theophylline (TP) were administered CA to steady-state. Using areas under the plasma concentration-time curves for each of the dimethylxanthines derived from CA in the steady-state study and individual plasma clearances of PX, TB and TP determined in the previous study, the fractional conversion of CA to PX, TB and TP and the individual partial clearances of CA have been defined. The mean (+/- s.d.) fractional conversion of CA to PX, TB and TP was 79.6 +/- 21.0%, 10.8 +/- 2.4% and 3.7 +/- 1.3%, respectively. When only demethylation pathways are considered PX, TB and TP accounted for 83.9 +/- 5.4%, 12.1 +/- 4.1% and 4.0 +/- 1.4%, respectively of the CA demethylations. The mean partial clearance of CA to PX was approximately 8-fold and 23-fold greater than those to TB and TP respectively. These data confirm earlier reports that PX is the major metabolite of CA in humans but suggest that PX formation is quantitatively more important than previously believed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The pharmacokinetics of caffeine (CA), paraxanthine (PX), theobromine (TB) and theophylline (TP) were studied in six healthy male volunteers after oral administration of each compound on separate occasions. The total plasma clearances of CA and PX were similar in value (2.07 and 2.20 ml min-1 kg-1, respectively) as were those for TP and TB (0.93 and 1.20 ml min-1 kg-1, respectively). The unbound plasma clearances of CA and PX were also similar in magnitude (3.11 and 4.14 ml min-1 kg-1, respectively) as were those of TP and TB (1.61 and 1.39 ml min-1 kg-1, respectively). The half-lives of TP and TB (6.2 and 7.2 h, respectively) were significantly longer than those of CA and PX (4.1 and 3.1 h, respectively). The volume of distribution at steady state of TP (0.44 l kg-1) was lower than that of the other methylxanthines (0.63- 0.72 l kg-1). The unbound volume of distribution of TP (0.77 l kg-1) was however the same as that of TB (0.79 l kg-1) whereas the unbound volume of distribution of PX (1.18 l kg-1) was similar to that of CA (1.06 l kg-1). Salicylic acid and acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) disposition after an oral dose of aspirin, 900 mg (equivalent to 689.7 mg of salicylic acid) was studied in eight males, eight females and eight females receiving oral contraceptive steroids (OCS). Salicylic acid clearance was 61% higher in males compared to the control female group, an effect due largely to enhanced activity of the glycine conjugation pathway (salicyluric acid formation) in males. Salicylic acid clearance was 41% higher in OCS-users compared to the control female group due to increases in both the glycine and glucuronic acid conjugation pathways in the pill users. There was no difference in any salicylic acid disposition parameter between males and OCS-users. Area under the plasma concentration-time curve (AUC) and elimination half-life of aspirin was significantly greater and aspirin plasma hydrolysis rate was significantly lower in both female groups compared to males. There was no difference between OCS-users and the control female group in any of these parameters. Aspirin AUC and elimination half-life were significantly correlated with aspirin plasma hydrolysis rate. These data confirm the importance of hormonal factors in the regulation of drug conjugation reactions in humans and suggest that sex-related differences in salicylic acid and aspirin disposition may be of clinical importance. The effects of separate 5 day pretreatments of propranolol 120 mg day-1 and 720 mg day-1 on theophylline clearance and metabolism at steady- state were determined in seven healthy males. Propranolol 120 mg day-1 decreased theophylline plasma clearance (CL) by 30%. Clearance of theophylline to each metabolite was reduced by this treatment, clearances to the two demethylated products by 42-43% and clearance to the 8-hydroxylation product by 27%. Propranolol 720 mg day-1 decreased theophylline CL by 52%. Again, clearance of theophylline to each metabolite was reduced by this treatment, clearances to the two demethylation products by 73-77% and clearance to the 8-hydroxylation product by 44%. These data are consistent with a dose-dependent and selective inhibitory effect of propranolol on the separate forms of cytochrome P-450 involved in theophylline demethylation and 8- hydroxylation. The effect of pretreatment with ranitidine (150 mg twice daily for 5 days) on the disposition of lignocaine was examined in 10 healthy volunteers (five male, five female). Each subject received separate oral (250 mg) and intravenous (1.5 mg/kg) doses of lignocaine hydrochloride before and after ranitidine. Lignocaine systemic clearance was reduced by 9% (1.11 to 0.99 1 h-1 kg-1; P less than 0.01) following ranitidine pretreatment. The volume of distribution at steady- state was reduced by 15% (3.34 to 2.85 1 kg-1; P less than 0.005). Lignocaine oral clearance, elimination half-life and oral bioavailability were unchanged after ranitidine pretreatment. There was no sex difference in the effects of ranitidine pretreatment on lignocaine disposition. These results are consistent with small reductions in blood flow to the splanchnic and other vascular beds due to ranitidine. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The effect of rifampicin pre-treatment (600 mg daily for 6 days) on theophylline disposition at steady state was investigated in six healthy males. Following rifampicin treatment total plasma clearance of theophylline increased by 82%. Theophylline clearance through each metabolic pathway was increased, 1-demethylation by (116 +/- 34%) (mean +/- s.e. mean), 3-demethylation by (91 +/- 16%) and 8-oxidation by (81 +/- 17%). Renal clearance of unchanged drug was not altered. Previous studies have suggested that two forms of cytochrome P-450 are involved in theophylline metabolism, one mediating the N-demethylations and the other 8-oxidation. Thus, unlike the selective inductive effect of rifampicin on antipyrine metabolic pathways, rifampicin does not differentially affect those forms of cytochrome P-450 involved in theophylline metabolism. The disposition of clofibric acid, a drug metabolised largely by glucuronidation, was studied in eight males, eight females and eight females receiving oral contraceptive steroids (OCS). Clofibric acid plasma clearance was not significantly different in males compared to the control female group but was 48% greater (P less than 0.01) in women receiving OCS compared to non-pill using females. This difference was due to an alteration in clofibric acid metabolic clearance as there were no differences between the groups in clofibric acid free fraction. Along with previous data the results suggest that induction of drug glucuronidation by OCS may be of clinical importance, although any sex- related differences are unlikely to be of clinical significance. Essa pesquisa apresenta um estudo multidisciplinar sobre gestão de águas nas ilhas de Belém. Destaca por meio de um diagnóstico temático socioambiental experiências ribeirinhas na utilização de projetos de captação de água de chuva. Com a utilização de Sistema de Informação Geográfica (SIG), apresenta a sistematização dados e informações considerando aspectos diversos relacionados ao uso do recurso natural água em seis projetos de captação de água de chuva distribuídos em nove ilhas da cidade de Belém. Em um universo de aproximadamente 3.000 habitantes sem serviços públicos de saneamento básico, destaca ações alinhadas, conscientemente ou não, à Política Nacional de Recursos Hídricos e aos objetivos e diretrizes propostos no Plano Diretor Municipal de Belém. O produto final dessa pesquisa trata-se do resultado de uma dissertação de mestrado do Programa de Pós-Graduação do Núcleo de Meio Ambiente da Universidade Federal do Pará (NUMA/UFPA) onde se propõem o uso de um Atlas como ferramenta de auxilio à gestão ambiental, demonstrando como o uso de SIG por meio do Atlas pode contribuir na gestão de recursos naturais nas diversas temáticas que envolvem o uso de tecnologias sociais na busca de sustentabilidade e desenvolvimento local no que se refere ao uso da água em Belém.

Es conocido que con posterioridad a la publicación de Ser y Tiempo (1927), Martin Heidegger reelaboró y reconsideró muchas de las observaciones críticas que se hicieron acerca de su obra fundamental. A eso dedican gran parte de las lecciones magistrales de Marburgo que Heidegger dictó entre el año 1923 y 1928. Sin embargo, ya de regreso en Friburgo de Brisgovia, dictó en el semestre de invierno de 1929/30 la lección magistral Los conceptos fundamentales de la metafísica. Mundo – finitud – soledad cuyas temáticas son, sin duda alguna, novedosas: Heidegger se refiere a la relación entre filosofía y metafísica, profundiza sus análisis en la disposición afectiva del aburrimiento (Langeweile), enuncia las tres famosas tesis sobre la piedra, el animal y el ser humano, dialoga con la biología de su tiempo (Roux, Driesch y Von Uexküll), toma distancia de las antropologías filosóficas nacientes (Scheler y Plessner) e, incluso, según algunos intérpretes, entrega claves imprescindibles para entender el comienzo del “giro” (Kehre) heideggeriano. No por casualidad, Safranksi califica esta lección como una “obra principal secreta” (ein heimliches Hauptwerk) (Safranski, 2002, p. 217) A esta temática está dedicado el presente volumen de la revista Studia Heideggeriana.

No presente artigo, examino alguns aspectos da dimensão epistêmica da fenomenologia hermenêutica. Inicialmente, mostro como as estratégias metódicas da fenomenologia hermenêutica contém procedimentos justificacionais que são compatíveis com o conservadorismo epistêmico. A seguir, reconstruo as autocríticas elaboradas por Heidegger aos principais resultados de sua própria interpretação da vida biológica. A conclusão é que a tese da pobreza de mundo dos animais precisa ser abandonada ou restringida, porque ela resulta de um procedimento argumentativo que contém uma falácia mereológica. Ressalto a seguir o emprego por Heidegger de um recurso hermenêutico sem correspondente no conservadorismo epistêmico: a consideração da dimensão das sintonias afetivas na avaliação da situação hermenêutico. O artigo é concluído como um comentário crítico sobre a interpretação esteticista da fenomenologia hermenêutica.

Num mundo globalizado com constante avanço tecnológico, cada vez mais as instituições necessitam de recursos relevantes para tomada de decisões. A situação ocorre em diferentes áreas de atuação e níveis hierárquicos, sendo estes recursos necessários para gestores e técnicos. Para atendimento aos usuários, frequentemente são realizadas demandas ao setor de Tecnologia da Informação (TI), que consomem tempo e impactam no custo de oportunidade dos trabalhadores dessa área. Uma forma de reduzir a demanda junto aos profissionais da TI é pela utilização do Business Intelligence (BI), que permite modelagem de dados com ferramentas analíticas e sintéticas de acordo com o desejo das instituições. Para o êxito na utilização do BI, é indispensável que os usuários detenham conhecimento das utilidades e ferramentas disponíveis. Realizamos nossa pesquisa no âmbito da Auditoria Geral do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (AGE/RJ). De acordo com Decreto Estadual 43.463/2012, AGE/RJ é o órgão central do sistema de controle interno do Poder Executivo do Estado do Rio de Janeiro e atua nas atividades de fiscalização contábil, financeira, orçamentária, operacional e patrimonial da Administração Direta e Indireta, quanto à observância da legalidade, legitimidade, economicidade na aplicação dos gastos públicos e constitui etapa final do controle interno. Em sua estrutura hierárquica, a AGE/RJ é composta pelo Auditor Geral, seguido de Superintendentes e Coordenadores, segundo e terceiro escalões, respectivamente. Diante das atribuições legais do órgão, estudamos acerca do nível de conhecimento sobre BI dos segundo e terceiro níveis hierárquicos da AGE/RJ. O objetivo da pesquisa é identificar o nível de conhecimento de BI dos Superintendentes e Coordenadores de AGE/RJ. Foi aplicado questionário com perguntas fechadas e escala likert. O resultado apresentado mostra uma relação entre as funções exercidas dos servidores e o conhecimento sobre BI. A pesquisa serve como parâmetro para necessidade de capacitação de grupo de servidores com características semelhantes.

Um dos principais resultados da analítica existencial de Ser e Tempo é a prioridade dopossível sobre o efetivo no modo de ser da existência humana. A possibilidade tem um significadofundacional na estruturação modal da existência. Neste artigo, apresento o esboçode uma noção existencial de necessidade. Seguindo um caminho aberto por Oskar Becker,identifico o existencialmente necessário nos limites da projeção em possibilidades existenciais,isto é, na historicidade autêntica do Dasein. Concentrando-me na noção de destino,apresento um conceito de necessidade existencial baseado na simplicidade e na obrigaçãode uma existência condicionada por finitude e liberdade finita. O objetivo deste artigo é identificar uma estrutura fundamental, resultante da ontologia da vida orgânica esboçada por Heidegger nos Conceitos Fundamentais da Metafísica,que pode ser designada como “o mistério na vida”. Na primeira parte do texto destacoalguns elementos gerais da hermenêutica da vida. Na segunda, reconstruo a interpretação ontológica dos organismos animais que conduz ao conceito de aptidão, cuja determinação ontológica é que faz necessária a introdução de uma classe especial depossibilidade: o ser-possível como ser-apto. Na terceira parte, apresento a caracterização heideggeriana das aptidões como envolvimentos em comportamentos estruturados pela perturbação cativada (Benommenheit), ressaltando como a perturbação impedeque aos comportamentos possa ser atribuída a estrutura do algo enquanto algo, implicando que os organismos estão abertos a algo que não se lhes apresenta como aberto. Considerando a relacionalidade intrínseca aos organismos, essa limitação implica aimpossibilidade de determinar completamente a essência da vida. Portanto, argumento na última parte, a ontologia da vida elaborada por Heidegger não apenas exige um tipo especial de possibilidade para conceitualizar o ser apto orgânico, mas também resulta no reconhecimento de um mistério na vida.

O meu objetivo neste artigo é a formulação de uma hipótese que estabelece a conexão interna entre o risível e o pensamento do ser, oferecendo algumas direções para um tratamento sistemático do problema do cômico na obra de Heidegger. O artigo é concluído com um comentário sobre relação entre o cômico, o trágico e o pensamento, tomando por base a interpretação heideggeriana de Heráclito.The main purpose of this paper is the formulation of a hypothesis about the internal link between the laughing and the thinking of Being, offering some guidelines for a systematic treatment of the issue of the comical in Heidegger's work. I conclude the paper with a remark on the relation between the comical, the tragic and the thinking, having Heidegger's interpretation of Heraclitus as a starting point.

Este artigo apresenta uma breve consideração da abordagem hermenêutica da natureza no projeto de Heidegger de uma ontologia fundamental. Apontase para uma diferença central na interpretação privada da vida em Ser e tempo e na abordagem circular dos organismos vivos em Os conceitos fundamentais da metafísica. Esta abordagem circular possui não apenas um signifi cado metodológico, mas também um conteúdo positivo para a ontologia das ciências da vida. Tomando por base um conjunto de resultados experimentais e conceitos fundamentais da Biologia, a interpretação circular apresenta o conceito de organismo nos termos de um círculo ambiental de desinibições pulsionais, no interior do qual os comportamentos animais exibem a estrutura da perturbação (Benommenheit). O principal resultado da hermenêutica da vida animal é a admissão de um limite na comensurabilidade possível entre a abertura para ser do humano e do animal.

The disposition of prednisolone has been studied in eight male subjects with and without the concomitant administration of cortisol which produced plasma cortisol concentrations 10-fold higher than endogenous levels. The clearance and steady-state distribution volume of total prednisolone were increased as was the prednisolone free fraction but the clearance of unbound prednisolone was unaltered by cortisol co- administration. In this paper I present the general lines of Heidegger's doctrine of temporality in Being and Time. Besides the ontological aspects that distinguish such approach, I also stress a main feature of the so-called phenomenological chronology, that is: the identification of modes of time, and the determination of an explanatory dependency relation between them. The finitude of temporality and the genesis of the modes of time from Dasein's originary temporality are both analyzed with more emphasis. The paper ends with a short review of four issues that a further analysis of Heidegger's phenomenological chronology surely must address in detail.

Neste artigo examinamos a noção de impessoalidade (das Man), apresentada em Ser e Tempo, de Martin Heidegger. Tomando como via interpretativa a análise de uma comparação estabelecida por Heidegger entre o das Man e o conceito de ens realissimum, sustenta-se que a impessoalidade possui uma função ontológica central no programa da ontologia fundamental. O modo de ser impessoal representa a fonte elementar de toda inteligibilidade, de modo análogo ao modo como o conceito de ens realissimum, na tradição ontoteológica, significou o fundamento de determinação de coisas em geral. Assim, o paralelo entre as noções de impessoalidade e ens realissimum permite captar a natureza social da projeção de ser pela compreensão de ser que caracteriza o ser humano.In this paper we examine the notion of impersonality (das Man) presented in Heidegger's Being and Time. Taking as interpretative guideline the analysis of a comparison made by Heidegger between the das Man and the concept of ens realissimum, we maintain that the impersonality has a central ontological function within the program of the fundamental ontology. Like the concept of ens realissimum in the ontoteological tradition, which played the rolle of ground of determination for things in generall, the impersonal manner of being represents the elemental source of all inteligibility. The parallel between the notions of impersonality and ens realissimum enables then a grasping of the social nature of the projection of being by the human understanding of being.

Abstract Background Adherence of Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria to lung cells is a first step in the progression from asymptomatic carriage to pneumonia. Adherence abilities vary widely among S. pneumoniae patient isolates. In this study, the binding properties of S. pneumoniae isolates and the effects of binding on activation of the Nuclear Factor-Kappa-B (NFκB) pathway and cytokine secretion by type II pneumocytes were measured. Methods Mechanisms of high- and low-binding S. pneumoniae adherence to A549 cells were investigated by blocking putative receptors on bacteria and host cells with antibody and by eluting choline-binding proteins off of bacterial surfaces. NFκB activation was measured by western blot and immunocytochemistry and cytokine secretion was detected by a protein array. Results This study shows that S. pneumoniae isolates from pneumonia patients (n = 298) can vary by as much as 1000-fold in their ability to bind to human lung epithelial cells. This difference resulted in differential activation of the NFκB pathway. High-, but not low-binding S. pneumoniae used Choline-binding protein A (CbpA) to bind to complement component C3 on epithelial cell surfaces. Interleukin-8 (IL-8) was the only cytokine secreted by cells treated with either low- or high-binding S. pneumoniae. Conclusion These results indicate that S. pneumoniae clinical isolates are not homogeneous in their interaction with host epithelial cells. The differential activation of host cells by high- and low-binding S. pneumoniae strains could have implications for the treatment of pneumococcal pneumonia and for vaccine development.

INTRODUÇÃO: A cidade de Limeira, em São Paulo, abriga o maior polo de produção de joias e bijuterias do país caracterizado pela terceirização, destacando-se a exploração de trabalho infantil, em condições de nocividade para a saúde do trabalhador. Para enfrentar este problema, articulou-se uma rede intersetorial. OBJETIVO: descrever as ações da rede e destacar limites e potencialidades de seu processo de formação e consolidação. MÉTODOS: realizou-se estudo de caso, combinando a análise documental e a participação direta dos pesquisadores nas atividades no período de 2007 a 2011. RESULTADOS: analisaram-se aspectos culturais, ideológicos e institucionais que determinavam a situação e as ações que propiciaram mudanças. Coube destaque à construção do Termo de Ajustamento de Conduta, que assegurou a implantação de ações coordenadas, a realização de diversos eventos de sensibilização, a mobilização da população, a implantação do Programa de Saúde do Trabalhador e a criação de grupos de trabalho que discutem a temática constantemente com a finalidade de articular a rede intersetorial. CONCLUSÃO: a governança em rede propicia o estabelecimento de um processo de transformação cultural e institucional para o enfrentamento do trabalho infantil. É imprescindível realizar novas intervenções neste fluxo produtivo de modo a implicar o empresariado em um processo de mudança.

Resumo: Nos Conceitos fundamentais da metafísica, Heidegger esboçou uma ontologia da vida que concebe os animais e as plantas como totalidades relacionais compostas por aptidões, complexidade orgânica e relação ao ambiente. A estrutura da aptidão é apresentada como formalmente determinada pelo fenômeno da pulsão (Trieb). Tal determinação concede à aptidão a característica de uma dimensão em sentido formal. Neste artigo, realizo uma análise da dimensionalidade orgânica, a partir de dois aspectos da dimensão enquanto tal: a travessia de algo para algo e o domínio de regra para a acolhida de uma multiplicidade. Esses aspectos proporcionam o marco para examinar a dimensionalidade da aptidão pulsional. Da análise resulta que o traço dimensional das aptidões compromete a ontologia da vida, com a aceitação de características como não fixidez, desenvolvimento plástico e relacionalidade ao ambiente e a si mesmo.

Background: Fasting and post-methionine load hyperhomocysteinemia are independent risk factors for vascular disease that are common in chronic renal failure. Folate decreases but seldom normalizes fasting total homocysteine (tHcy) concentrations in such patients. Glycine betaine (GB) is known to decrease tHcy in other clinical settings, but whether it is beneficial in chronic renal failure has not been established., Methods: We conducted a crossover-controlled trial in 36 patients with chronic renal failure to determine if oral GB decreased fasting or post-methionine tHcy concentrations. All subjects received, in randomized sequence, 5-mg folic acid and 50-mg pyridoxine daily, with or without GB 4-g daily, for three months each. Fasting plasma tHcy, GB, folate, B vitamins, serum lipids and creatinine were measured at one and three months, and methionine load tests were performed at the end of each three-month treatment phase., Results: GB and N,N-dimethylglycine (DMG) levels in plasma and urine increased markedly during GB treatment. Fasting tHcy decreased from baseline with both treatments but did not differ between treatments. Post-methionine tHcy decreased with both treatments and was 18% lower on GB than on folate and pyridoxine alone (P < 0.001). There were small increases in lipids during treatment with GB but the ratio of total: HDL cholesterol was unchanged., Conclusions: GB supplementation had no effect on fasting tHcy in patients with chronic renal failure who were folate and pyridoxine replete, but it significantly decreased tHcy concentrations after methionine loading.
