A novel, simple, rapid, and non-expensive analytical method based on square wave voltammogram at Pt-microelectrode coupled with partial least square multivariate calibration was used for the simultaneous quantitation of thymol (THY) and carvacrol (CAR) in thyme and oregano essential oils. Results demonstrated that the multivariate calibration method successfully exploited the first-order advantage, rendering highly satisfactory quantitative figures (average recoveries not statistically different than 100%). Moreover, the results agree well with those obtained from the official analytical method. Last, the method's environmental sustainability was asserted using the AGREE metric, highlighting its eco-friendly nature. More importantly, the proposed analytical procedure does not require previous sample preparation or electrode surface modification. The results underscore the suitability of the method for determining THY and CAR in essential oils at low concentrations (LOD ~ 7.6 µM) with REP% below 5.6%, meeting the requirements of the green analytical chemistry. The R package 'tosr' enables the construction of the Tree of Science (ToS), a metaphorical representation of scientific papers on a specific topic. The ToS's roots symbolize seminal works, the trunk stands for structural works, and the leaves depict the current literature. Traditionally, researchers have had to limit their ToS to data from a single database, such as Scopus or Web of Science (WoS). The 'tosr' package overcomes this limitation by allowing researchers to merge seed files from both Scopus and WoS, thereby facilitating a more comprehensive bibliometric analysis. This paper describes the development and application of the 'tosr' package, demonstrating its unique capabilities in creating a completer and more cohesive ToS and citation network for any scientific topic. Virtual education began to emerge with the advent of the internet and digital technologies in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. It has been instrumental in overcoming geographical limitations, expanding educational access and reducing the gap between learners worldwide who have and have nots. Over the last few decades, a significant number of investments and initiatives (at both government and institutional levels) have been observed aiming to establish a sustainable online education system. The objective of the study is to provide an overview of the research trend on virtual teaching for online learning from the perspective of higher education across the globe in the 21st century. The required publication data has been collected from Scopus and Web of Science databases and various bibliometrics tools and techniques have been employed to visualize publication growth. It is found that the highest contribution has been made by China (16.92%), followed by the United States (15.38%), Spain (12.05%) and the UK (6.15%). The study identifies three dominant trends: 1) the evolution of technology-driven learning and training systems; 2) the rise and impact of immersive learning in digital environments; and 3) a systematic review of e-learning methodologies. This research outlines the overall progression of scientific literature in virtual education and highlights the need for comparative and nuanced research among online learning modalities, essential for guiding educational policymakers and university administrations in the optimal combination of traditional and virtual learning methods. Purpose: Effectuation has received increased attention in the field of entrepreneurship. However, previous studies have focused on performance rather than on networking and word-of-mouth (WOM) marketing. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to understand the mediating effect of networking on the relationship between effectuation and WOM marketing. Design/methodology/approach: This study used partial least squares structural equation modeling to investigate the relationship between effectuation and WOM marketing mediated through networking. The research model was assessed using data from a sample of 256 entrepreneurs. Findings: The results reveal that effectuation positively influences WOM marketing, mediated by networking. This study provides new insights into the precursors of WOM marketing and highlights the importance of networking in this process. Practical implications: The implications of these findings suggest that entrepreneurs should create networking plans that focus on the maintenance and creation of new customers. This plan could be tracked via email, cell phone or online social data to maintain awareness of the failures and successes of the process and for continual improvement. Originality/value: A vast number of studies have been conducted on effectuation and networking. However, to the best of the authors' knowledge, no previous study has investigated the influence of these two variables on WOM marketing. Can, and should, artificial intelligence (AI) and its machine learning (ML) variant be applied to study scholarly literature? With AI and ML rapidly disrupting industries, we investigate how scholars in entrepreneurship and small business management can capitalize on AI and ML to support their scholarship and comprehensively review, catalog, and analyze the literature. We examine various ML tools and deploy these tools against a published literature review to consider whether ML complements or substitutes scholars' agency. We show that ML can reinforce human findings to support replicability and robustness, adding additional layers of transparency and validity to conclusions from human-derived systematic reviews. Our contributions provide scholars with valuable guidance and a blueprint for adopting ML into their scholarship and not replacing their scholarship. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
