The underrepresentation of women in physics is a global phenomenon, and women in developing countries report experiencing additional barriers at all career levels. To enable women in these nations to overcome these barriers, we must consider the inclusion of women in physics in the unique cultural context of developing countries and consider the lived experience of women physicists from developing countries. The IUPAP Women in Physics in Developing Countries workshop provided an opportunity to discuss the challenges and celebrate the successes of women from developing countries who are working for greater inclusivity.
