U ovom radu definiran je pojam IPO (inicijalna javna ponuda), te analiziran IPO na Zagrebačkoj burzi. Nakon uvoda u prvom dijelu rada, u drugom dijelu definiran je pojam IPO, te navedene prednosti i nedostaci inicijalne javne ponude, kao i sam proces provedbe IPO-a. Na kraju drugog dijela napravljen je pregled IPO-a na europskim burzama. U trećem dijelu rada prikazan je IPO u Hrvatskoj kroz povijest, te napravljena analiza i usporedba poslovanja i provedbe najznačajnijih IPO-a u Hrvatskoj, onih INA d.d. 2006. godine, Atlantic Grupe d.d. 2007. godine, te prvog IPO-a nakon velike svjetske gospodarske krize, Tankerske Next Generation d.d. 2015. godine. This paper defines the term of an IPO (initial public offering), and analyzed the IPO at the ZSE. After the introduction in the first part, the second part defines the term of an IPO, and lists the advantages and disadvantages of an IPO, as well as the process of the IPO. At the end of the second part is a review of IPOs on European exchanges. In the third part of the paper presents the IPO in Croatia throughout history, and an analysis and comparison of management and implementation of the most significant IPO in Croatia, those INA dd 2006, Atlantic Grupa dd 2007 and the first IPO after world´s economic crises, Tankerska Next Generation dd 2015.

Inicijalna javna ponuda je prva javna ponuda dionica nekog poduzeća investicijskoj javnosti. Financiranje poduzeća emisijom dionica nastaje iz potrebe da se investira u rast i razvoj poduzeća. Emisija dionica najčešće se odvija neizravno, odnosno putem posrednika – investicijskih banaka. Postoje mnoge prednost zbog kojih bi se poduzeća trebala odlučiti na IPO kao način prikupljanja financijskih sredstava. Kao mjesto provedbe IPO-a poduzeća se sve više odlučuju za velike strane burze poput NYSE, što je bio i slučaj sa Alibabom koja je bila predmet ovog istraživanja. Initial public offering is the first time that the stock of a company is offered to the investment public. Raising capital by issuing shares arises from the need to invest in business development and growth. The process of issuing shares usually takes place indirectly, through an intermediary – investment bank. There are many advantages for the company to decide on the IPO as a way to raise capital. Companies are opting for large foreign stock exchanges such as the NYSE for their IPO, as was the case with Alibaba, which has been the subject of this study.
