Programa de doctorat: Innovació i Intervenció Educatives La tesi se centra en el reconeixement de les veus de l’alumnat i en la seva participació en els contextos d’aprenentatge, i situa els nois i noies com a agents actius i corresponsables de l’acció educativa. Tot i que cada vegada són més els centres educatius que s’estan replantejant la seva manera de treballar, sovint l’alumnat continua tenint poques oportunitats per participar i les seves veus es troben invisibilitzades. La finalitat de la recerca és reconèixer les veus de l’alumnat per comprendre la seva participació en els contextos d’aula i reflexionar al voltant de la pràctica educativa a secundària. La recerca parteix d’un enfocament col·laboratiu en què l’alumnat i el professorat es consideren participants clau. Això ha facilitat la consecució d’unes relacions més democràtiques i horitzontals entre els agents i ha establert múltiples canals de reflexió, diàleg i intercanvi al voltant de l’acció educativa per construir una cultura escolar participativa. La tesis se centra en el reconocimiento de las voces del alumnado y en su participación en los contextos de aprendizaje, y sitúa a los jóvenes como agentes activos y corresponsables de la acción educativa. Aunque cada vez son más los centros educativos que se están replanteando su manera de trabajar, a menudo el alumnado tiene pocas oportunidades para participar y sus voces se encuentran invisibilizadas. La finalidad de la investigación es reconocer las voces del alumnado para comprender su participación en los contextos de aula y reflexionar en torno a la práctica educativa en secundaria. La investigación parte de un enfoque colaborativo en el que el alumnado y el profesorado se consideran participantes clave. Esto ha facilitado la consecución de unas relaciones más democráticas y horizontales entre los agentes y ha establecido múltiples canales de reflexión, diálogo e intercambio en torno a la acción educativa para construir una cultura escolar participativa. The thesis focuses on the recognition of students' voices and their participation in learning contexts, and situates young people as active agents and co-responsible for educational action. Although nowadays there are more schools that are rethinking the way they work, students often have few opportunities to participate and their voices are invisible. The aim of the research is to recognise students' voices in order to understand their participation in classroom contexts and to reflect on teaching and learning processes for the purpose of implementing more democratic, inclusive and participatory educational practices in secondary schools. The research is based on a collaborative methodological approach in which students and teachers are considered key participants. This has facilitated the achievement of more democratic and horizontal relationships between actors and has established multiple channels of reflection, dialogue and exchange around educational action to build a participatory school culture.

The article aims to conceptualize the participation of secondary school students and to highlight which elements may condition such participation and how they should be reconsidered in a non-attendance learning model. This article is part of a Doctoral Thesis that analyses, from a collaborative approach, the participation of young people for the purpose of implementing more democratic, inclusive and participatory educational practices. The results confirm the benefits of placing students as co-responsible agents in participatory learning contexts and the challenges that the centre must face to promote the active participation of secondary school students. El artículo pretende conceptualizar la participación del alumnado de secundaria y poner de manifiesto qué elementos pueden condicionar dicha participación y como se deberían reconsiderar en un modelo de aprendizaje no presencial. Este artículo se enmarca en una Tesis Doctoral que analiza, desde una aproximación colaborativa, la capacidad de participación de los jóvenes con el objetivo de implementar acciones educativas más democráticas, inclusivas y participativas. Los resultados constatan los beneficios de situar al alumnado como agentes corresponsables en los contextos de aprendizaje participativos y los desafíos que debe afrontar el centro para promover la participación activa del alumnado de secundaria. O artigo tem como objetivo conceituar a participação de alunos do ensino médio e mostrar quais elementos podem condicionar sua participação e como devem ser reconsiderados em um modelo de aprendizado não presencial. Este artigo está enquadrado em uma Tese de Doutorado que analisa, a partir de uma abordagem colaborativa, a capacidade de participação dos jovens com o objetivo de implementar ações educativas mais democráticas, inclusivas e participativas. Os resultados confirmam os benefícios de colocar os alunos como agentes co-rresponsáveis em contextos participativos de aprendizagem e os desafios que a instituição deve enfrentar para promover a participação ativa dos alunos do ensino médio.

Introducción: Candid #1 es una vacuna eficaz para prevenir la fiebre hemorrágica argentina (FHA). Se produce en las instalaciones habilitadas del Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Virales Humanas "Dr. Julio I. Maiztegui". Con la introducción de la vacuna, la incidencia de la FHA ha disminuido significativamente. Por poseer un reservorio distinto al humano, no es posible su erradicación y resulta imprescindible sostener la vacunación en el área endémica. Objetivo: Garantizar la calidad de los resultados de los ensayos de liberación por control de calidad, de la vacuna a virus vivo atenuado Candid #1, mediante el cumplimiento de los requisitos regulatorios establecidos en metodologías validadas o verificadas. Métodos: Mediante la utilización de herramientas de calidad, se analizaron las variables que impactan sobre los resultados de los ensayos de liberación de la vacuna Candid #1. Resultados: Se obtuvo la incertidumbre expandida (U) asociada a la expresión del resultado en los ensayos cuantitativos (potencia, U=0,32; humedad residual, U=0,58; osmolalidad, U=12,6; pH, U=0,18). En los ensayos cualitativos se realizaron revalidaciones y verificaciones. Conclusiones: La incertidumbre se utilizará para establecer límites internos en los ensayos de liberación y para evaluar la consistencia de la producción. Los datos generados permiten establecer un material de referencia para consideración de la autoridad regulatoria nacional. Finalmente, el conocimiento exhaustivo de los parámetros de calidad que caracterizan a cada lote de vacuna aporta significativamente a garantizar su seguridad y eficacia. Introduction: Candid #1 is an effective vaccine to prevent Argentinian hemorrhagic fever (AHF). It is produced in specific facilities at the Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Virales Humanas "Dr. Julio I. Maiztegui". With the introduction of the vaccine, the incidence of AHF has decreased significantly. It is not possible to eradicate AHF because it has a reservoir outside the human being, for this reason it is essential to hold vaccination in the endemic area. Objective: To guarantee the quality of the results of the quality control release tests of the Candid #1 live attenuated virus vaccine, by complying with the regulatory requirements through validated or verified methodologies. Methods: The analysis of the parameters that plays a key role in the quality of Candid #1 for assays of batch release using quality tools. Results: The expanded uncertainty (U) associated with the expression of the result in all the quantitative assays (Potency, U=0.32; Residual moisture, U=0.58; Osmolality, U=12.6; pH, U=0.18) was obtained. Revalidations and verifications were also done in the qualitative assays. Conclusion: The calculated uncertainty will be used to set internal limits on release assays and to assess the consistency of production. Furthermore, the data generated in this study would allow having a potential reference material for consideration by the national regulatory authority. Finally, the in depth knowledge of the quality parameters properties of each batch of vaccine significantly contributes to ensuring the safety and efficacy of the product. The quality control tests of the Candid#1 vaccine required for internal release needs the use of rabbit immune serum (RIS). It is a biological reagent produced in INEVH and it must be qualied to ensure its proper use. The aim of this study was to estimate the expanded uncertainty (U) through validation studies of identity test in which the titles of IRS are determined, and thus establish its specication for use in control tests where the title of it is critical. Validation studies made possible calculate the U established by statistical analysis of the values obtained experimentally in intermediate precision, resulting=0.30. Determination of the U of the methodology established that 500 is the minimum qualication that must have an IRS to be used in quality control testing of the vaccine Candid# 1. En un consultorio odontológico, diversas fuentes de posible infección, como saliva, sangre, instrumentos contaminados, etc., pueden ser transmisores de microorganismos tanto a pacientes como al personal odontológico. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue evaluar la eficacia de los procesos de esterilización de los consultorios odontológicos del Distrito VI de la Provincia de Buenos Aires mediante la utilización de Indicadores Biológicos. Participaron del estudio 283 odontólogos que llevaron a cabo un total de 320 procesos de esterilización por calor seco y 19 por calor húmedo. En base a los resultados obtenidos se observó que el 35 % (112/320) de los procesos de esterilización por calor seco controlados no cumplieron con los requisitos, de los cuales 63 repitieron el control y, 55/63 (87%) resolvieron el problema mediante distintas acciones correctivas. Con respecto a la esterilización por calor húmedo, el 32 % (6/19) de los procesos no cumplieron con los requisitos, en 3 de los 6 positivos se efectuaron correcciones simples obteniéndose resultados satisfactorios. El presente trabajo muestra la importancia para la comunidad, de la implementación de rutina de un sistema de control que permita garantizar la esterilidad de los materiales utilizados en los consultorios odontológicos. In a dental office, several infectious sources, such as saliva, blood, contaminated dental instruments, may be vehicles for microorganisms to reach patients and dental proffesionals. In this work the efficacy of the sterilization process performed at dental offices belonging to the VI district of Buenos Aires Province from Argentina was evaluated through the use of Biological Indicators. Two hundred and eigthy three dentists participated of the study performing a total of 320 dry heat sterilization process and 19 wet heat ones. It was observed that the 35 % (112/320) of the dry heat sterilization process controlled didn't meet the requirements, 63 of which repeated the control and 55 (87%) solved the problem through the adoption of several corrective actions. In relation to wet heat sterilization, the 32 % (6/19) of the process didn't meet the requirements, 3 out of 6 positives overcame the problem after the implementation of corrective actions. These results show the importance for the whole community of a control program implementation in order to guarantee the sterility of the instruments used in the dental practice.

Treball de recerca realitzat per alumnes d’ensenyament secundari i guardonat amb un Premi CIRIT per fomentar l'esperit científic del Jovent l’any 2010. L’objectiu bàsic ha estat elaborar una obra lexicogràfica del vocabulari de l'agricultura de Sant Pere Pescador. Pel que fa al marc teòric del treball, calia presentar la disciplina de la lexicografia; determinar les característiques generals de les obres lexicogràfiques; i analitzar les característiques de tres obres lexicogràfiques concretes per decidir, finalment, quines característiques tindria el vocabulari. Pel que fa al marc pràctic, calia recollir unitats lèxiques de l'àmbit agrícola, i finalment, elaborar una obra lexicogràfica amb tot el vocabulari recollit. Els objectius tant teòrics com pràctics s'han assolit ja que amb aquest treball de recerca s'ha aconseguit un bon coneixement de la lexicografia, s'han analitzat les característiques generals de les obres lexicogràfiques i s'ha elaborat un vocabulari.

27. [Stability of Candid#1 vaccine to prevent Argentine Hemorrhagic Fever].

Candid#1 is the first live attenuated vaccine produced and registered in Argentina. Produced since 2003 at the INEVH to prevent Argentine hemorrhagic fever, it is obtained by harvesting supernatants of diploid cells infected with an attenuated strain of Junin virus and subsequent lyophilization. The stability of this vaccine is crucial to ensure its effectiveness. This study was aimed to evaluate the stability of Candid#1 by exposing it to different time and temperature conditions. Three vaccine batches produced in 2003 were analysed according to the following storage scheme: (a) reconstituted vaccine at 2 °C to 8 °C for 8 days; (b) lyophilized vaccine at 2 °C to 8 °C for 6 months; (c) lyophilized vaccine at -18 °C to -20 °C for 10 years. The potency was assessed in Vero cell monolayers under agar. The results were: (a) reconstituted vaccine was stable between 2 °C and 8 °C for 8 days, (b) lyophilized vaccine was stable between 2 °C and 8 °C for 2 months, and (c) lyophilized vaccine was stable 9 years between -18 °C and -20 °C, keeping all its properties. These results allowed us to establish the following storage conditions and expiration times for Candid#1: (a) reconstituted: 12 hours between 2 °C and 8 °C, (b) lyophilized: 30 days between 2 °C and 8 °C and (c) lyophilized: 9 years between -18 °C and -20 °C. Based on our results, favorable changes were made in the conditions of transport, storage and distribution of the vaccine. Domestic freezers in strategically located centers were installed, allowing the preservation of vaccine stocks for distribution to secondary vaccination centers.

- Abstract
The activity of LCM virus was first reported in Argentina at the beginning of the seventies and only five strains have been isolated from rodents Mus domesticus and two from humans. The objective of this paper was to find differential biological characteristics of Argentine strains of LCM virus comparing them in relation to the historical strains WE and Armstrong. Regarding the results obtained in tissue culture, when L 929 cells were used, plaque forming units (PFU) were obtained with human and mouse strains, whilst on Vero cells only human strains developed PFU. Differentials characteristics of historical and Argentine strain's plates were not found, neither differences related to the strain's origin. Neither historical nor Argentine strains were lethal to new-born mice giving a persistent infection, that was demonstrated when we inoculated new-born mouse by intracranial route with different strains of LCM virus and virus was isolated from brains harvested at different days post inoculation. The only exception was Cba An 13065 strain that exhibited virulence in new-born mice, only with 0.026 PFU was obtained 1 DL50. All the strains resulted lethal to adult mice. The mouse strains were more virulent than human strains, being Cba An 13065 the most virulent. These results demonstrate a different behavior in tissue culture between human and mouse strains and allow the identification of virulence markers by intracranial inoculation into new-born or adult mice.

Candid #1 vaccine against Argentine Hemorrhagic Fever produced in USA versus lots of the same vaccine made in Argentina were compared in guinea pigs regarding safety, immunogenicity and protective efficacy against a challenge with pathogenic Junin virus. Lots No Exp 3, 7A and 8A of Argentine origin as well as lot TSI 5-1-92 from USA were inoculated in guinea pigs of 250-400 g in two consecutive assays. Ten animals inoculated with saline performed as normal controls in each experiment. Parameters studied were: a) temperature; b) body weight; c) neutralizing antibodies to Junin virus; d) response to viral challenge. Animals gained weight and remained normothermic up to the challenge. Guinea pigs that received Candid #1 from any manufacturer elicited neutralizing antibodies to Junin virus (titles from 40 to 81920) and survived to challenge whilst 8/10 animals died in each control group. Data presented demonstrated that Candid #1 vaccines from USA or Argentine manufacturers were equally safe, immunogenic and protective in guinea pigs.

- Abstract
Different proportions of IgG subclasses have previously been reported to distinguish the immune response elicited by primary and recurrent viral infections, as well as viral vaccines. The goal of this study was to study the IgG subclasses composition in the immune response of patients with Argentine hemorrhagic fever, and vaccinees with Candid #1 strain of Junin virus. Twenty-four individuals inoculated with Candid #1 vaccine and 67 patients with Argentine hemorrhagic fever were studied. Blood samples were drawn at 30, 60, and/or 180 days post-inoculation with Candid #1 and 30, 60, and 90 days after clinical onset of the disease. Specific anti-Junin virus IgG subclasses were titrated with specific human monoclonal antibody fluorescence isothiocyanate conjugate (FITC) by immunofluorescent assay (IFA). IgG(1) anti-Junin virus was found in every subject studied and IgG(3) was also detected in some patients with a severe form of Argentine hemorrhagic fever. IgG(2) and IgG(4) were not detected in any serum sample studied. The mean titer of specific IgG(1) in vaccinees was significantly lower than in patients with Argentine hemorrhagic fever (P < 0.05), but no difference was found between mild and severe cases of the disease (P > 0.05). The results of this study demonstrated a central role of IgG(1) in human recovery from infection with every strain of Junin virus, an observation stressed by the immune response to Candid #1 vaccine, which resulted in no difference in IgG subclasses composition from that found in mild cases of Argentine hemorrhagic fever., (Copyright 2003 Wiley-Liss, Inc.)
