The article covers the territorial dimension of the north Mozambican insurgency. Based on the analysis of the local context and security, economic and identity dimension, it measures the level of territorial control of Ansar al-Sunna. The analysis argues that despite a success of the group to dominate over some population centres, the actual level of territorial presence is rather low. As such, Ansar al-Sunna does not present a viable alternative for the local population and thus creates an opportunity for the state administration to uproot its presence and recapture the region of Cabo Delgado in case it is able to provide meaningful services to its inhabitants. The presented paper revisits the theory of Carl Schmitt from the perspective of border barrier building and applies it to three cases of barriers in the Middle East. It firstly introduces the term nomos as a territorial order that is the basis for all law and is particular to each state. Then, it argues that states build border barriers in order to create or maintain this nomos while facing challenges from hard-to-identify enemies. The process-tracing analysis of the events leading up to a construction of a border barrier and its immediate outcomes in the cases of Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey concludes that these border barriers were built in order to help create or protect the nomos, both through delimitation of space and through identification of enemies challenging it. The outcome of this research suggests that the Schmittian theory might be useful in the analysis of the border barrier construction, but further research is needed to confirm this. While the bipolar Cold War system in Europe was characterized by a stability of borders, the end of the Cold War brought into the former Soviet bloc a wave of more or less successful attempts of secession. In our article we point out that unrecognized entities in the proximity of Russia are not genuine attempts to establish full-fledged members of the international community but rather a deliberate reaction to a changing geopolitical situation in Europe. We argue that Russia's approach towards Eurasian unrecognized entities is not based on the denial of sovereignty first approach, but rather on utilitarian and selective application of normative theories of secession. The Kosovo precedence based on the application of priority of self-determination over the territorial integrity is a welcome pretext for justifying Russian geopolitical strategy vis-a-vis Moldova, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine. The paper deals with the presented justifications of the secession (both primary rights and derivative rights theories) of the post-Soviet unrecognized entities as well as their effectiveness and dependence on Russian support. We conclude that none of the analyzed unrecognized entities fits into a new set of normative criteria applied in the case of Kosovo and that they are only geopolitical outposts of the Russian foreign strategy of maintaining controlled instability. The article aims to provide an analysis of 2014 general elections in Republic of South Africa. The author analyses of key political, demographic and economic factors (both at national and at provincial level) to describe the context of the fifth general elections in May 2014. Then the author turns his attention to the electoral campaigns and describes political strategies of main political parties. In the final part he presents the electoral results and principal changes in voting patterns. The article argues that the most interesting questions about the parliamentary elections were not concerned with who was about to win but with the capability of minor political parties to challenge the African National Congress' ultradominant position and its aim to gain the constitutional majority in the National Assembly. Text provides an analyses of key political, demographic and economic factors at the state as well as provincial level which will heavily impact voting behavior and preferences during at fifth parliamentary (and provincial) elections next year. The most interesting questions about the following parliamentary elections are not concerned with who will win but with such questions as capability the political parties - Joseph Malema's far-left Economic Freedom Party, centrist Agang and the main opposition party Democratic Aliance (DA) to challenge the African National Congress' (ANC) predominant position in the political system of Republic of South Africa and its aim to gain a constitutional majority in The National Assembly. ANC is also close to electoral defeat by DA in the far most important province Gauteng, which is the political as well as the economic center of the state. The aim of the text is to analyze possible changes in voting patterns which might lead to crossing the political line still based on the racial cleavage. The article reports on the struggle of Czech Republic's political parties Social Democrats (CSSD) and Civic Democrats (ODS) with issues on their respective programs. It mentions that CSSD's programs have problems on its execution due to its demand of huge economic resources while ODS created a program that is not attractive for those who need good reasons for voting them. When asked whether speculation over corruption in the industry is an isolated case, in which an insurance company was supposed to sponsor a planned urological conference, he said it is not an isolated case. He tackled the impact of corruption to levels of trust between doctors and patients. He wanted to know the degree to which medical institutions' are willing to fight corruption. The article focuses on the issue of security in Western countries. It mentions that the news from across the globe which include the attempt to murder the Danish caricaturist, the attempt to blow up an American airliner, and the unstable situation in Afghanistan and Yemen could form a series of coincidences. Thus, it states the events point to the West's weakness in protecting universal liberal democratic values in confrontation with its enemies.

An interview with Jirí Pospíšil, Justice Minister of the Czech Republic, is presented. When asked about his view of the state of Czech legislation, he replied that the current legislation of the country is being updated and modified to gradually allow the people to fit into the European Union.

The article examines the factors that prompts the international community not to recognize Kosovo, Serbia as an independent state. It is explained that the territory of the province does not cope with the standard to become an independent state and it has no structured economy. Moreover, it cannot survive through its own economic income because of its dependence to the donations from other nations.
