Waste processing in Salatiga City could have been more optimal. It can be seen from the data from the Salatiga City Environment Service that the waste processing facility in the form of an active waste processing site with reduce-reuse-recycle is only one out of seven registered units. This has the potential to cause accumulation at the final processing site. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an effective waste processing facility. Planning for waste processing using the biodrying method can effectively process waste that produces products in the form of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF)[1] [Ma2] . Planning for waste processing is carried out until 2032 in two service areas: Service area 1 (Argomulyo District and Tingkir District) and service area 2 (Sidorejo District and Sidomukti District). The amount of waste generated by service area 1 reaches 49.33 tons/day and 522.67 m3/day, while service area 2 reaches 49.62 tons/day and 414.01 m3/day. Planning for waste processing using the drying method includes picking bay units, shredding, drying, screening, and loading RDF.[3] [Ma4] RDFs potential in 2032 as a result of waste processing in service area 1 is 11159.03 tons/year with sales of Rp. 7,270,755,009 / year and in service area 2 it is 10,471.09 tons / year with sales of Rp. 6,822,524,206 / year

Pesatnya perkembangan teknologi di era globalisasi saat ini membawa pengaruh besar dalam proses pencarian informasi. Kita dapat melihat pertumbuhan yang sangat besar pada volume berita online yang tersedia pada jaringan internet, maupun pada jaringan lainnya. Salah satunya adalah sosial media yang memilik banyak informasi yang mengenai artikel-artikel berita atau artikel-artikel informasi lainnya. Berita merupakan sumber informasi mengenai kejadian terkini yang mana dapat ditemukan pada internet dan media sosial. Saat ini berita-berita yang disebarkan terutama berita mengenai politik yang dapat mengakibatkan salah penafsiran karena berita tersebut belum tentu benar atau salah sehingga dibutuhkan pengklasifikasian artikel politik apakah termasuk dalam kategori hoax atau non hoax. Hoax adalah berita kebohongan yang disebar untuk memperoleh kepercayaan agar masyarakat akan merasa yakin bahwa konten tersebut benar. Dampak lain dari hoax dapat merugikan emosi hingga finansial masyarakat. Proses klasifikasi hoax menggunakan tahap preprossessing yang terdiri dari tokenization dan stemming. Dilanjutkan dengan proses pembobotan kata dan jaccard similarity hingga proses klasifkasi dengan menggunakan metode Vector Space Model (VSM). Hasil evaluasi pada penelitian ini menggunakan confusion matrix, dimana diperoleh hasil precision sebesar 0,92 recall sebesar 0,80 dan akurasi didapatkan sebesar 87 %.

This study aims to analyze budgetary slack at the management level. This budgetary slack is viewed from several independent variables consisting of participatory budgeting, information asymmetry, and organizational commitment by making managers spread across the city of Surabaya as the research samples. Participatory budgeting is budgeting that involves all levels of personnel in preparing the budget. The opportunity for employees to participate in preparing the budget is closely related to the level of budgetary slack. Information asymmetry is the difference in information held between the principal and the agent. Organizational commitment can be interpreted as a situation where the executives stay in an organization where they work and are committed to their work. This study uses a quantitative approach involving multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that participatory budgeting has no effect on budgetary slack, while information asymmetry and organizational commitment have an effect on budgetary slack.

This research aimed to afford the backhand drive stroke technique training in audiovisual based for beginner category badminton athletes. This development research was referred to the development model that has been done by Borg & Gall and has been modified by Sugiyono into two steps, there were pre-development step and development step. The large scale testing was consisted of ten beginner category badminton athletes of PMS Surakarta. The effectiveness testing was done to 25 beginner category badminton athletes of PMS Surakarta by using pre-experiment Intact-Group Comparison, the groups were divided into two in order to make one group would be given a treatment, other group would be a control group. The result of the research showed that the group which was given backhand drive stroke technique training based on audiovisual treatment had higher scores than the control group.

Peraturan Menteri Keuangan (PMK) Nomor 25 Tahun 2014 tentang Akuntan Register Negara mengubah secara radikal tatanan Profesi Akuntan Indonesia. Peraturan yang ditetapkan dalam rangka menjaga kualitas profesi akuntan tersebut, menyeret lembaga pendidikan yaitu Pendidikan Profesi Akuntansi (PPAK) yang berada dibawah Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia untuk merasakan dampak atas pelaksanaan peraturan tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada PPAk FEB UGM dalam rangka menganalisis adanya kesenjangan harapan antara mahasiswa dan pengelola terkait tindak lanjut pengelola dalam mengatasi dampak dari PMK Nomor 25 Tahun 2014. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan kualitatif dengan strategi studi kasus. Hasil analisis menyatakan adanya kesenjangan harapan mahasiswa terhadap pengelola maupun sebaliknya, serta tanggapan langsung dari organisasi profesi yang membawahi PPAK, yaitu IAI. Hasil penelitian ini juga membahas mengenai faktor-faktor penyebab adanya kesenjangan harapan dan bagaimana strategi yang dilakukan pihak pengelola untuk mengatasai kesenjangan tersebut.

The theory of capital structure has experienced remarkable development. This development enables companies to have many options to consider the external factors in determining various compositions of the companies debts and equities. In this study, the researcher uses theoretical basis of Market Timing Theory (MTT) introduced by Baker and Wurgler (2002). The result of this study indicates that marketto-book ratio has a negative effect on the level of company leverage. This is also proven on the factors of earning after tax and asset structure of the company. The implication of this study is that when the company obtains lower level of leverage, there will be overvalue on the stock price, and it would be the right time for the company to release the shares.

The paper presents and discusses some results of an experimental research aimed at analysing the influence of compaction variables (w and energy) and method on the resulting microstructure of a compacted silty soil. In particular, the experimental data here discussed allow to compare the microstructure induced by different dynamic compaction techniques, comparing that characterising specimens obtained by two laboratory methods (Proctor standard and Harvard) and that of samples compacted in-situ during the construction of an embankment built for river regimentation purposes. Both undisturbed and disturbed samples have been retrieved from the embankment, the latter one with the purpose of collecting the soil subsequently used for laboratory compaction. Microstructural analyses (SEM, MIP) performed on laboratory and in-situ compacted samples evidenced a substantial similarity of the texture induced by the various compaction techniques, highlighting that laboratory compaction is suitable to provide soil samples representative of earth in-situ compacted soil.

Abstract Background The functional state of human telomeres is controlled by telomerase and by a protein complex named shelterin, including the telomeric DNA-binding proteins TRF1, TRF2 and Pot1 involved in telomere capping functions. The expression of hTERT, encoding the catalytic subunit of telomerase, plays a crucial role in the control of lymphocyte proliferation by maintaining telomere homeostasis. It has been previously found that hTERT activity is down-regulated by the human T cell leukaemia virus type 1 (HTLV-1) Tax protein in HTLV-1 transformed T lymphocytes. In this study, we have examined the effects of Tax expression on the transcriptional profile of telomerase and of shelterin in human T lymphocytes. Results We first provide evidence that the up-regulation of hTERT transcription in activated CD4+ T lymphocytes is associated with a down-regulation of that of TERF1, TERF2 and POT1 genes. Next, the down-regulation of hTERT transcription by Tax in HTLV-1 transformed or in Tax-expressing T lymphocytes is found to correlate with a significant increase of TRF2 and/or Pot1 mRNAs. Finally, ectopic expression of hTERT in one HTLV-1 T cell line induces a marked decrease in the transcription of the POT1 gene. Collectively, these observations predict that the increased transcriptional expression of shelterin genes is minimizing the impact on telomere instability induced by the down-regulation of hTERT by Tax. Conclusion These findings support the notion that Tax, telomerase and shelterin play a critical role in the proliferation of HTLV-1 transformed T lymphocytes.

Simple Summary: Amphibians around the world are at risk due to a deadly fungal infection caused by Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd). This study reports a relevant Bd detection in amphibians within two protected areas in northwestern Italy, specifically near Turin. The investigation was prompted by an unusual number of common toad deaths, which led to further analysis of other amphibians sampled in the area. Testing revealed that Bd was present in 38.6% of the sampled amphibians, with higher positivity rates in La Mandria Park compared to the Vauda protected area. However, while Bd was identified, the exact cause of the observed mortality remains uncertain and may involve other pathogens or multifactorial causes. This represents the first reported case of Bd detection in Piedmont in 18 years, underscoring the ongoing threat this pathogen poses to local wildlife. The results highlight the need for comprehensive monitoring and conservation efforts to protect vulnerable amphibian species from Bd and other potential threats. Chytridiomycosis, caused by the fungus Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd), is a significant threat to global amphibian populations, leading to widespread declines and extinctions. In the spring of 2023, Bd presence was detected in different amphibian species within two protected areas near Turin, Piedmont, Italy, following an unusual mortality event among the common toad (Bufo bufo). Histological and molecular analyses confirmed Bd infection in a deceased Pelophylax sp. specimen, prompting further investigation. Sampling of 166 individuals across seven amphibian taxa revealed an overall Bd occurrence of 38.6%, with Pelophylax sp. showing the highest detection rate (50.5% of 93 individuals). A marked difference in the positivity rate was observed between the two locations, with La Mandria (67.2% of 58) exhibiting significantly higher rates than Vauda (22.9% of 35). While Bd was identified in the sampled amphibians, the exact cause of the observed mortality remains unclear and may involve other pathogens or multifactorial causes, including but not limited to Bd. These findings represent the first documented case of Bd presence in Piedmont after an 18-year gap, highlighting the potential influence of local environmental factors on infection dynamics. The study emphasises the need for expanded, standardised field sampling and further investigation into the various factors affecting amphibian health to guide conservation efforts for vulnerable amphibian species. Background: The success of vaccination programs depends on a complex interplay of logistical, social, and structural factors. The objective of this study was to analyze the different approaches to vaccine administration implemented by several Italian regions since the onset of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Methods: After careful qualitative review of information gathered from scientific articles, official reports (grey literature), contact with regional health authorities, and local health departments, five vaccination strategies across several Italian regions focusing on alternative vaccine providers and/or settings were identified. The innovative practices implemented by different actors covered specific topics and were then examined and described in detail. Results: In Veneto, where prevention departments were the main actor, herpes zoster vaccination coverage for the 65-year-old cohort increased from 44.4% to 54.9%; in Tuscany, family pediatricians administered 64% of all childhood vaccines; in Liguria, pharmacies delivered 70.1% of COVID-19 vaccines, while vaccinating in schools in Taranto led to higher human papilloma virus vaccination rates compared to regional and national averages. Finally, in all the regions, hospitals focused on vaccinating healthcare workers and vulnerable populations. Conclusions: The positive outcomes of these five experiences may, in a context of limited resources, encourage other national and international entities to adopt innovative practices, which offer new perspectives beyond the traditional delivery methods (i.e., local health authority vaccination centers for childhood and adolescent immunizations, and family doctors for adults and the elderly). These strategies suggest the efficacy of specific local approaches favored by regional autonomy in optimizing vaccine distribution and coverage. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction In its first response to the emerging epidemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Italian government implemented national restriction measures with strict physical distancing and restrictions on public movements [...], Problem After Italy's first national restriction measures in 2020, a robust approach was needed to monitor the emerging epidemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) at subnational level and provide data to inform the strengthening or easing of epidemic control measures. Approach We adapted the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control rapid risk assessment tool by including quantitative and qualitative indicators from existing national surveillance systems. We defined COVID-19 risk as a combination of the probability of uncontrolled transmission of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 and of an unsustainable impact of COVID-19 cases on hospital services, adjusted in relation to the health system's resilience. The monitoring system was implemented with no additional cost in May 2020. Local setting The infectious diseases surveillance system in Italy uses consistent data collection methods across the country's decentralized regions and autonomous provinces. Relevant changes Weekly risk assessments using this approach were sustainable in monitoring the epidemic at regional level from 4 May 2020 to 24 September 2021. The tool provided reliable assessments of when and where a rapid increase in demand for health-care services would occur if control or mitigation measures were not increased in the following 3 weeks. Lessons learnt Although the system worked well, framing the risk assessment tool in a legal decree hampered its flexibility, as indicators could not be changed without changing the law. The relative complexity of the tool, the impossibility of real-time validation and its use for the definition of restrictions posed communication challenges. Probleme Apres avoir pris ses premieres mesures de restriction nationales en 2020, l'Italie avait besoin d'une approche solide pour surveiller l'epidemie naissante de maladie a coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) au niveau regional, et fournir les donnees permettant de renforcer ou d'alleger les mesures destinees a l'endiguer. Approche Nous avons adapte l'outil d'evaluation rapide des risques du Centre europeen de prevention et de controle des maladies en y integrant des indicateurs quantitatifs et qualitatifs issus des systemes de surveillance nationaux existants. Pour definir le risque lie a la COVID-19, nous avons associe la probabilite d'une transmission incontrolee du coronavirus 2 du syndrome respiratoire aigu severe, a l'impact immediat des cas de COVID-19 sur les services hospitaliers, en procedant a des ajustements selon la resilience du systeme de soins de sante. Le dispositif de surveillance a ete mis en reuvre en mai 2020 sans entrainer de couts supplementaires. Environnement local En Italie, le systeme de surveillance des maladies infectieuses repose sur des methodes uniformes de collecte de donnees dans les provinces autonomes et regions decentralisees a travers le pays. Changements significatifs Les evaluations des risques realisees toutes les semaines avec cette approche ont permis de surveiller l'epidemie a l'echelle regionale du 4 mai 2020 au 24 septembre 2021. L'outil a identifie les dates et lieux susceptibles de connaitre une augmentation rapide de la demande en services de soins de sante si aucune mesure supplementaire de controle et de lutte n'etait prise dans les trois semaines. Situacion Tras las primeras medidas nacionales de restriccion en Italia en 2020, se necesitaba un enfoque solido para supervisar la epidemia emergente de la coronavirosis de 2019 (COVID-19) a nivel subnacional y proporcionar datos que informaran sobre el refuerzo o la flexibilizacion de las medidas de contencion de la epidemia. Enfoque Se adapto la herramienta de valoracion rapida de riesgos del Centro Europeo para la Prevencion y el Control de las Enfermedades, al incluir indicadores cuantitativos y cualitativos de los sistemas nacionales de vigilancia existentes. Se definio el riesgo de la COVID-19 como una combinacion de la probabilidad de transmision descontrolada del coronavirus del sindrome respiratorio agudo grave de tipo 2 y de un efecto no sostenible de los casos de la COVID-19 en los servicios hospitalarios, y se ajusto en relacion con la capacidad de recuperacion del sistema sanitario. El sistema de supervision se aplico sin costes adicionales en mayo de 2020. Marco regional El sistema de vigilancia de las enfermedades infecciosas en Italia aplica metodos de recopilacion de datos coherentes en todas las regiones y provincias autonomas descentralizadas del pais. Cambios importantes Las valoraciones semanales de los riesgos mediante este enfoque fueron sostenibles en la supervision de la epidemia a nivel regional entre el 4 de mayo de 2020 y el 24 de septiembre de 2021. La herramienta proporciono valoraciones fiables de cuando y donde se produciria un rapido aumento de la demanda de servicios sanitarios si no se incrementaban las medidas de contencion o mitigacion en las tres semanas siguientes. Lecciones aprendidas Aunque el sistema funciono bien, el hecho de enmarcar la herramienta de valoracion de los riesgos en un decreto legal dificulto su flexibilidad, ya que los indicadores no se podian modificar sin cambiar la ley. La relativa complejidad de la herramienta, la imposibilidad de validacion en tiempo real y su uso para la definicion de las restricciones plantearon problemas de comunicacion.
