The article reveals main facts of the historical development of the Museum of Bulgarian book publishing (second half of 19th and early 20th century) founded in the city of Plovdiv by the end of 1960s. The permanent exhibition was inaugurated at 22nd of May 1975 in the house of the founder of our national typography - Hristo Gruev Danov (1828 - 1911). The key events, related to emergence and evolution of publishing business were shown in six exhibition halls, via artifacts, documents, pictures, etc. The old Revival house, in which the Museum was arranged, deserves a special attention. It combines the vision of a typical medieval tower and the artistry of а Renaissance edifi ce. Nowadays, the Museum of typography is a pleasing cultural topos located just to the entrance of the Old town and very close to the Orthodox cathedral. It attracts a lot of visitors, mainly Bulgarians, who are inspired by intellectual dignity of Revival period and by the personal magnetism of the popular originator of our national typography - Hristo Gruev Danov. An important feature of the Irish Independent newspaper at the turn of the twentieth century was its use of a bilingual platform for the promotion of the Irish language revival movement. Having pledged its “heartiest support … to the Irish Language and Industrial Revival Movements, as to every movement for the National and material regeneration of Ireland” in its first edition (Irish Independent, January 2, 1905), it was clear from the outset that the Irish Independent would foster the core values of nationalism, economic progress and cultural revival as promoted by the “Irish-Ireland” movement. However, the Irish Independent was also aware of its vital role as the harbinger of news and information within the realm of the British Empire. In the period immediately preceding political independence, against the backdrop of the First World War, the Irish War of Independence and the co-operation movement, the Irish Independent promoted the “Irish-Ireland” ideology and its related aims of language and cultural revival, while also functioning within the paradigms of the imperial regime. Through an analysis of both Irish and English language articles, along with bilingual advertisements, announcements and reports concerning the Irish-speaking districts, the role of women and the high moral tone of the nationalist movement, this article will explore the function of this bilingual forum as a voice for the emerging new Irish language community. Conflicting identities and cultural variances within the Irish Independent during this period mirror the framework created for nationalist identity, while also retaining cultural and economic links with the British Empire. Objective: To observe the effects of dexmedetomidine on cerebral oxygen saturation and postoperative recovery in elderly patients with ovarian cancer. Methods: Sixty elderly patients with ovarian cancer were randomly divided into two groups. Both groups were given total intravenous anesthesia. Patients in group D were given a loading dosage of dexmedetomidine 0.5 μg/kg, followed by continuous infusion 0.2 μg·kg(-1)·h(-1) until 30 minutes before the end of operation. Group C were given normal saline at the same time. The cerebral oxygen saturation was observed and recorded before anaesthesia (T0), an hour after operation (T1), the end of operation (T2) and 30 min after tracheal extubation (T3). The time of extubation and adverse reactions such as restlessness, shivering and respiratory inhibition were observed in both groups. Results: There was no significant difference in cerebral oxygen saturation between the two groups at different time points ( P >0.05), and the degree of restlessness and its incidence in group D were lower than those in group C, and the adverse reactions such as shivering were lower ( P <0.05). Conclusion: Dexmedetomidine has no obvious effect on cerebral oxygen saturation in elderly patients with ovarian cancer. It can effectively prevent and reduce postoperative restlessness, does not affect recovery time, and has fewer adverse reactions.
