In recent years, research on digital transformation and its applications in various fields has expanded, leading to the creation of extensive, diverse, and scattered knowledge in this area. In recent years, digital transformation has been identified as a research priority for managers and researchers in the public and government sectors. The importance of this research area and attention to it in digital government studies has made it necessary to identify its sub-domains and research trends. This study aims to review research in the field of digital transformation in government and public organizations, identify core articles, recognize sub-domains, and research trends.Introduction In recent years, research in the field of digital transformation, especially in the government and public administration sector, has become one of the important priorities of organization managers and researchers, and has led to the creation of vast and scattered knowledge in this field. Many studies have tried to deeply understand and better understand the different dimensions of digital transformation; However, until now, a comprehensive and up-to-date research has not been done regarding the investigation of the sub-fields of digital transformation research in public and public administration, as well as its research process, and there is no complete insight into the study process of this field. Based on this, the main and new research topics in the field of digital transformation of government and public administration, as well as how these researches are going, remain unanswered. Therefore, in the end, the present research seeks a deep understanding, a comprehensive and up-to-date study regarding the study of research sub-fields. digital transformations in government and public administration, as well as a complete insight into the study trends of this field. In other words, the answer to this question, which are the main fields, new topics and research trends of digital transformation, focusing on the public and public sector, is placed in the headlines?In this study, firstly, the introduction and the theoretical and experimental background related to the research topic, including digitization, digital transformation, and their dimensions are investigated and research questions are presented. Then the methodology of the research is discussed and the findings obtained from the articles are collected and the results of the analysis are shown. At the end of the research, the most important recommendations and ideas for organizations and organizational researchers have been presented.Materials and MethodsThis research focuses on the field of digital transformation in government and public management using bibliometric analysis. The data for this study was collected from 479 articles published between 2000 and 2023 in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. Co-word analysis and co-occurrence analysis of keywords were performed on the collected data to identify the core articles and sub-domains. Furthermore, a coverage map and average word lifespan were created to determine the research trends in this field.Discussion and Results Research on digital transformation in the government and public sector was categorized into seven clusters, and the core articles in this field were identified. According to the findings of this study, recent topics such as smart government, linked open data, co-creation, COVID-19, digital readiness, digital participation, and digital services are new topics that have been discussed in the field of digital transformation in the government sector and have been the focus of researchers' attention.ConclusionBy identifying the core articles, sub-domains, and research trends in digital transformation in the government and public sector, this study provides a cohesive perspective on this field and helps researchers in choosing their research direction.

Serious concerns have been raised on the potentially negative impact of public measures to contain the COVID-19 pandemic on academic research, including the closure of research facilities, and the challenges of lockdown. However, it is unclear whether COVID-related mobility restrictions have penalized academic productivity, and if this is the case, whether it has had an equal impact on all research areas and countries. Here, we examined about 9.2 million submissions to 2689 Elsevier journals in all research areas in 2018–2021 and estimated the impact of anti-COVID mobility restriction policies on submissions to journals. Results showed that anti-contagion public measures had a positive impact on academic productivity. However, submission patterns changed more in non-Western academic countries, with the exception of Italy, which had stringent lock-down measures. During the early stages of the pandemic, the abnormal peak of submission was dominated by health & medical researchers, whereas later, there was an increase in submissions to social science & economics journals. Although anti-contagion public measures have contributed to change academic work, it is difficult to estimate whether they will have any potentially long-term effect on the academic community- either positive or negative. At the Technische Hochschule Dresden, the predecessor institution of the TU Dresden, a specialization "Engineer for Process Engineering" was established in 1953 with the filling of the specialist professorship for chemical engineering, and the present Institute for Process and Environmental Engineering was founded. Since then, the profile in education and research of the institute within the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering of the Technische Universität Dresden (TUD) has been considerably extended. It is an essential basic work to discuss the future of science education research in Japan to clarify the themes and methods used in the Journal of Science Education in Japan. This study examines the research themes, methods, and their combinations used in 1,109 articles published in the journal from 1977 to 2020, using the categories proposed by Tsai and Wen (2005) and those devised by us. Results reveal that research on teaching using quasi-experimental designs and interpretive approaches has been conducted more frequently since 2000 than before. Further, the results partially support the concerns by Ohtaka (2001) about a lack of diversity in science education research. Purpose: Analyzing the subject structure of research in this field can provide valuable information about the current state of the field, including its issues and needs, strengths, gaps, and shortcomings. The present study aims to analyze the global research topics in information science and library science, while also reviewing research topics from previous years and identifying thematic gaps. This analysis will provide a foundation for planning and policy research in this field. Methodology: The present study utilized an automated classification technique. Data analysis was performed on 85,403 articles indexed on the Web of Science website between 1945 and 2019 in the field of library and information science. The source and tool used for extracting research data was Web of Science. After preparing and pre-processing the data and formulating the classification plan for articles across 31 thematic categories, the logistic regression algorithm has been employed for the automatic classification of articles. This algorithm assigns articles to their respective thematic categories using the Cosine similarity criterion. The various stages of the research were performed using the Python 3.7 programming language and the Pandas, Numpy, NLTK, and Plotly software packages. Findings: Most of the global research in this field is dedicated to information technology, while the field of organizational management has the least amount of research. The growth trend of research in many thematic areas is increasing. However, there is further growth in areas such as web studies, information technology, information behavior, user studies, information retrieval, and search engines. After the 1990s, popular terms such as social media, big data, virtual library, IoT (Internet of Things), machine learning, deep learning, data mining, open data, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, cloud computing, virtual reality, augmented reality, and machine translation have emerged in research in this field. It appears that the utilization of keywords pertaining to traditional subjects in the field has declined, while the usage of concepts encompassing new topics related to technology and the web has increased. The rapid growth of fields such as web development, technology, artificial intelligence, and data mining has led to the evolution of research topics and increased connections with computer science and information technology, particularly in recent years. The changes in the subjects of this field can be attributed to the development of the web and advancements in technology. Additionally, the concepts and research topics in this field have had an impact on globalization, communication progress, and overall development in various economic, social, and cultural dimensions. Conclusion: The conclusion of the study highlights the thematic trends in library and information science research over different time periods. It also identifies the weaknesses in the scientific output of this field, while outlining the evolutionary process and the path of progress and development in the field of science. Due to the fact that scientific outputs are derived from the issues, needs, and priorities of a society at any given time, studying them can help clarify the most important issues and research needs in the field of library and information science. This, in turn, can provide a foundation for identifying future research needs and subjects in the field. In other words, having a clear understanding of the subject areas of library and information science will help researchers in this field identify the most important issues and needs. This, in turn, will enable them to take appropriate actions when selecting topics for future research. By conducting needs-based research, we can lay the groundwork for policy development and research planning in this field. This approach will also help address potential challenges and problems that may arise. This is despite the fact that if the needs and issues are ignored, research resources and credits will be spent on topics that do not have the necessary priority and importance. Plants, and the biological systems around them, are key to the future health of the planet and its inhabitants. The Plant Science Decadal Vision 2020-2030 frames our ability to perform vital and far-reaching research in plant systems sciences, essential to how we value participants and apply emerging technologies. We outline a comprehensive vision for addressing some of our most pressing global problems through discovery, practical applications, and education. The Decadal Vision was developed by the participants at the Plant Summit 2019, a community event organized by the Plant Science Research Network. The Decadal Vision describes a holistic vision for the next decade of plant science that blends recommendations for research, people, and technology. Going beyond discoveries and applications, we, the plant science community, must implement bold, innovative changes to research cultures and training paradigms in this era of automation, virtualization, and the looming shadow of climate change. Our vision and hopes for the next decade are encapsulated in the phrase reimagining the potential of plants for a healthy and sustainable future. The Decadal Vision recognizes the vital intersection of human and scientific elements and demands an integrated implementation of strategies for research (Goals 1-4), people (Goals 5 and 6), and technology (Goals 7 and 8). This report is intended to help inspire and guide the research community, scientific societies, federal funding agencies, private philanthropies, corporations, educators, entrepreneurs, and early career researchers over the next 10 years. The research encompass experimental and computational approaches to understanding and predicting ecosystem behavior; novel production systems for food, feed, and fiber with greater crop diversity, efficiency, productivity, and resilience that improve ecosystem health; approaches to realize the potential for advances in nutrition, discovery and engineering of plant-based medicines, and "green infrastructure." Launching the Transparent Plant will use experimental and computational approaches to break down the phytobiome into a "parts store" that supports tinkering and supports query, prediction, and rapid-response problem solving. Equity, diversity, and inclusion are indispensable cornerstones of realizing our vision. We make recommendations around funding and systems that support customized professional development. Plant systems are frequently taken for granted therefore we make recommendations to improve plant awareness and community science programs to increase understanding of scientific research. We prioritize emerging technologies, focusing on non-invasive imaging, sensors, and plug-and-play portable lab technologies, coupled with enabling computational advances. Plant systems science will benefit from data management and future advances in automation, machine learning, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence-assisted data integration, pattern identification, and decision making. Implementation of this vision will transform plant systems science and ripple outwards through society and across the globe. Beyond deepening our biological understanding, we envision entirely new applications. We further anticipate a wave of diversification of plant systems practitioners while stimulating community engagement, underpinning increasing entrepreneurship. This surge of engagement and knowledge will help satisfy and stoke people's natural curiosity about the future, and their desire to prepare for it, as they seek fuller information about food, health, climate and ecological systems.

Citation analysis can uncover ways to apply the use of software in different research synergies. A cited reference search on MATLAB in the Web of Science database retrieved 6,873 citing articles from 2000 to 2020. These articles were analyzed by research areas to reveal the use of MATLAB in unexpected subject-specific disciplines. The VOSviewer software tool was used to generate and analyze keyword co-occurrence clusters by research area. The study found that MATLAB not only holds applications in the Technology and the Physical Sciences disciplines but also extends to the Life Sciences & Biomedicine, Social Sciences, and Arts & Humanities. During the past five years, the Government of Tanzania has reinvigorated its power generation capacity significantly to ensure smooth execution of its industrialization agenda and cope with the fourth industrial revolution. To ensure reliable availability of power to sustain its growing economy, Tanzania embarked on a deliberated measure to forge an energy mix. This deliberate measure encompasses the use of renewable energy technologies such as wind, solar, biomass, wastes, and micro hydro; natural gas; and other energy sources which are locally available including coal and geothermal. To effectively and efficiently manage such a growing power system and make electricity accessible to all for higher levels of industrial investment and services, the adoption of the smart grid technologies becomes inevitable. This article, tried to unveil possible potential research areas in which scholars, through academia-industry collaborations, can dwell to ensure that the Tanzania smart grid concept is seamlessly realized and maintained, with the expected efficacy. The concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has been the object of study by the academic world in recent years, however, despite the large number of published works, there are still many gaps in its conceptualization and the implications it has on business management. In this sense, despite the great interdisciplinarity of the concept, a large part of academic production is focused on the field of business, something that has limited the construction of new research perspectives which will allow to continue expanding in knowledge. The objective of this work is to provide evidence of the scientific production developed in the field of CSR that serves as a basis for researchers in making strategic decisions about the orientation of their work, taking into account new perspectives based on the impact generated by the publications in the different research areas. For this, a search of existing publications on the Web of Science (WoS) was carried out. The analysis of the results was developed through the use of the InCites citation analysis tool, which made it possible to evaluate the productivity and performance of the research developed. The results show the existence of research areas with low productivity in the topic under study, but with a high impact of their publications. It is concluded that publication in these research areas should be a priority for researchers, who, by directing their work toward them, might open up new research perspectives and continue to delve into the concept. This research aims to deepen and identify what are the themes and changes that have existed in Latin American scientific work around the studies of the world of work. To this end, bibliometric tools will be developed to identify, characterise and analyse themes within the debates and approaches in which labour studies have developed in the 21st century. To achieve this objective, this paper proposes to present a review of the current debates in labour studies in Latin America, to analyse the production through scientometric tools and to present some of the agendas and lines of the discipline. This study departs from the problem of lack of clarity in classification of research areas in Arabic Language Education. This study aims to describe and create a concept map in the research areas of students majoring in Bachelor of Arabic Language Education of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, UNSIQ Wonosobo, UNNES and UMY. This is a descriptive qualitative and quantitative research. Data were collected by way of documentation to be analyzed inductively with content analysis. The qualitative data were analyzed using an interactive analysis, particularly through data reduction, data submission, and conclusion drawing. Meanwhile, the quantitative data were analyzed using a frequency distribution. From the study, it is clear that students taking the Bachelor of Arabic Language Education in several universities in Indonesia mostly conduct their research on the following eighteen topics, namely: learning methods (34.4%), learning media (21.7%), learning materials (10.5%), psycholinguistics (6.1%), syntax (5%), morphology (4.4%) curriculum (3.9%), reading skills (3.3%), science of balaghah (2.8%), translation (2%), learning evaluation (1.1%), dictionary (1.1%), sociolinguistics (1.1%), listening skill (0.5%), speaking skill (0.5%), writing skill (0.5%), phonology (0.5%) and semantics (0.5%). In addition, the concept mapping reveals that teaching and learning serve as the most widely addressed topics in Arabic language education.

Recent studies have indicated an increased interest in understanding the overall influence of research output on economic growth. Unfortunately, much of the empirical studies carried out were primarily focused on developed countries. Given the recent rise in government spending on research and development in developing countries, it is highly important to examine the impact of academic research output on economic growth. It enables policy makers to evaluate the return of capital invested in research activities. Using two-step SYS-GMM dynamic panel estimation, the present study examines the impact of quantity and quality of research output in all research areas for 15 MENA countries for the period from 2000 to 2017. Our empirical results give evidence of a negative impact of quantity, and positive impact of quality of research output on economic growth in almost all areas of research. Moreover, results support an important and statistically significant impact of research output on economic growth in the following research areas: Biochemistry, Genetics and Molecular Biology, Business, Management and Accounting, Computer Sciences, Energy, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics and Astronomy. The study results have important policy implications. Policy makers in the MENA countries need to focus on improving the quality not quantity of research output, especially for these research areas, to realize the expected impact of research on economic growth. The industrial transformation led by digitization-related technologies has attracted research attention in recent decades, enhancing its application in different sectors. The transport industry is a crucial driving force for economic growth and social development. It is still necessary to make transportation infrastructure and services safer, cleaner, and more affordable to cope with increasing urbanization and mobility. This paper systematically examines the science mapping of building information modeling and digital twins technologies in the digitalization of transportation. Through the bibliometric and content analysis approaches, 493 related documents were screened and analyzed from the Web of Science and Scopus databases. The software programs VOSviewer and Bibliometrix were used to determine research trends and current gaps, which will be beneficial to future research in this vital field. The results showed that over 80% of the relevant documents have been published since 2018. China is the most productive country, followed by the United States and Italy, and Germany is the most cited and influential country. Moreover, research also revealed the leading authors, top journals, and highly cited papers. The findings may be used as a guide for: (1) improving the efficiency of intelligent transportation system element management; (2) the development and application of digital technologies; (3) the flow and goals of entire-life-cycle management; and (4) the optimization of related algorithms and models. Scientific reviews are a publications type, which is very important for the world scientific community. This article considers reviews positions in the world publication flow (within the database «Wed of Science Core Collection» (WoS CC) array) for six natural sciences research areas (physics, chemistry, mathematics, geology, biology, computer science) during the period 2010–2019 for the leading countries of the world and Russia. The article considers additionally this type documents citation specialties depending on the research area.By means of the WoS CC database, bibliometric parameters of publication flows of scientific reviews for the six mentioned research natural sciences areas were determined: the number of records, it’s percentage in the total publication flow, the place of Russian reviews in the world flow, the average citation rate, the proportion of not cited records, the period of active citation. The dynamics of changes for these parameters over time (2010–2019) is considered.The article establishes the following features of scientific reviews, as a specific publication type:the percentage of reviews in both the world and Russian information flow is relatively small, it significantly depends on the research area, but over time it increases for all research areas;the trends of changes for the Russian reviews flow over time and in all research areas, follows world trends;Russian reviews occupy places, in terms of quantity, from 6–9 to a place in the fifth ten in the world array of WoS CC documents (depending on the year and research area), but they show a large spread in average citation terms. Sometimes, Russian reviews average citation is approaching and even exceeds the world average citation for some years and some research areas (and sometimes significantly);the non-cited reviews publications share is significantly lower than even for articles (the most cited type of publications);the reviews active citation period reaches 9–10 years and is significantly longer than (from some publications opinion) for scientific publications in general.

In this article, we study the evolution of the computer science research community over the past 30 years. Analyzing data from the full Scopus database, we investigate how aspects such as the community size, gender composition, and academic seniority of its members changed over time. We also shed light on the varying popularity of specific research areas, as derived from the ACM's Special Interest Groups and IEEE classifications. Our analysis spans 19 nations (all members of the G20 group, excluding the EU) and involves a total of 728,374 authors and 8,412,543 publications. This work shows that the overall size of the computer science community has increased by a factor of ten in the time period 1991–2020, with China and India enjoying the highest growth. At the same time, this increase has not been uniform across research areas. Female participation has also increased, but more slowly than expected and not uniformly across countries and areas. This article investigates the implementation of inquiry-oriented instruction in 20 undergraduate mathematics classrooms. In contrast to conventional wisdom that active learning is good for all students, we found gendered performance differences between women and men in the inquiry classes that were not present in a noninquiry comparison sample. Through a secondary analysis of classroom videos, we linked these performance inequities to differences in women's participation rates across classes. Thus, we provide empirical evidence that simply implementing active learning is insufficient, and that the nature of inquiry-oriented classrooms is highly consequential for improving gender equity in mathematics. The aim of this paper is twofold: (1) contribute to a better understanding of the place of women in Economics and Management disciplines by characterizing the difference in levels of scientific collaboration between men and women at the specialties' level; and (2) investigate the relationship between gender diversity and citation impact in Economics and Management. Our data, extracted from the Web of Science database, cover global production as indexed in 302 journals in Economics and 370 journals in Management, with, respectively, 153,667 and 163,567 articles published between 2008 and 2018. Results show that collaborative practices between men and women are quite different in Economics and Management. We also find that there is a modest positive and significant effect of gender diversity on the citation impact of publications. Mixed‐gender publications (coauthored by men and women) receive more citations than nonmixed papers (written by same‐gender author teams) or single‐author publications. The regression analysis also indicates that there is, for Economics, a small negative effect on citations received if the corresponding author is a woman. The main aim of this work is to provide insight into a bibliometric analysis of Data Journals and Data Papers in terms of research areas, disciplines, publication year and country. In particular, we calculated many bibliometric indicators, especially: the number of publications and citations. Furthermore, this work also investigated the top 20 journals in which scientists published the largest number of Data Papers. It was found that the first Data Paper in Medical and Health Science was published in 2006. Our results indicate that about 64% of Data Papers are cited and about 30% of Data Papers are articles that have international co-authors. We also found that a significant number of Data Papers were published in top quartile (Q1) Open Access journals. Furthermore, most Data Papers were published in Multidisciplinary Sciences, followed by Biological Sciences, Earth and related Environmental Sciences as well as Computer and Information Sciences. Our analyses show that the largest number of Data Papers were published in journals with an Impact Factor ranging from 5 to 6. Additionally, the largest number of Data Papers were published in the USA, China, the United Kingdom, Italy and France. From the point of view of scientists, this work is needed because scientists can check information about journals in which they may publish research data. Moreover, they can find Data Journals with a high Impact Factor and MEiN points. This analysis is also interesting because scientists/publishers can compare the disciplines and countries in which researchers have published the greatest number of Data Papers. Finally, it is worth noting that this work gives insights into the various bibliometric indicators related to citations and the number of publications. This information can be useful for people associated with bibliometric analyses.

The paper analyzes the mapping of research trends and author productivity of global literature on coronavirus output of research publications as indexed in the Web of Science from 1996 to 2020. A total of 12,706 publications were published on Coronavirus during 1996–2020. The highest number of publications, 783 or 6.162% was published in 2004. A total of 33,814 authors contributed to the 12,706 publications (i.e. the total publications shared by 37.57% of the authors). The most prolific authors were Yuen KY with 213 publications; Perlman with 179; Enjuanes with 160; and Baric with 59 publications. The data of one person to 25 people and the study witnessed accordingly measured the value of n = 334.6630. The University of Hong Kong was the most productive institution; it contributed 519 (4.085%) of the publications. The United States of America (USA) holds the highest share of 4,541 (35.73%) of publications followed by the Peoples Republic of China with 21.23%. The research area of virology produced the major share with 3,998 (31.46%) publications globally followed by Veterinary sciences with 1,908 (15.01%). The most productive journal was the Journal of Virology with 1,130 (8.89%); Virology published 480 (3.77%) from the top 25 ranked journals. Furthermore, most Data Papers were published in Multidisciplinary Sciences, followed by Biological Sciences, Earth and related Environmental Sciences as well as Computer and Information Sciences. Our analyses show that the largest number of Data Papers were published in journals with an Impact Factor ranging from 5 to 6. Additionally, the largest number of Data Papers were published in the USA, China, the United Kingdom, Italy and France. From the point of view of scientists, this work is needed because scientists can check information about journals in which they may publish research data. Moreover, they can find Data Journals with a high Impact Factor and MEiN points. This analysis is also interesting because scientists/publishers can compare the disciplines and countries in which researchers have published the greatest number of Data Papers. Finally, it is worth noting that this work gives insights into the various bibliometric indicators related to citations and the number of publications. The concept of city information modeling (CIM) has become increasingly popular in recent years. A literature review of previous CIM studies is presented in this paper. First, a bibliometric analysis of the current global CIM research is described, revealing that CIM has become a significant research hotspot. Next, three main research areas of the current CIM technique, namely data collection, integration, and visualization, are summarized to describe the characteristics of CIM research. Furthermore, some widely used CIM platforms are compared, and typical application cases of the CIM technique at different stages of the city life cycle are summarized. Finally, the current issues in CIM research are discussed, and future development directions are proposed. The findings of this study are expected to help researchers understand the current state of CIM and identify future development directions, thereby promoting CIM research development. These topics offer great potential for IS researchers in terms of business and societal impacts and it would behoove IS researchers to study them more fully. The aspects of the research topics that are related to IS are discussed and potential research areas and questions are suggested.

The industrial transformation led by digitization-related technologies has attracted research attention in recent decades, enhancing its application in different sectors. The transport industry is a crucial driving force for economic growth and social development. It is still necessary to make transportation infrastructure and services safer, cleaner, and more affordable to cope with increasing urbanization and mobility. This paper systematically examines the science mapping of building information modeling and digital twins technologies in the digitalization of transportation. Through the bibliometric and content analysis approaches, 493 related documents were screened and analyzed from the Web of Science and Scopus databases. The software programs VOSviewer and Bibliometrix were used to determine research trends and current gaps, which will be beneficial to future research in this vital field. The results showed that over 80% of the relevant documents have been published since 2018. China is the most productive country, followed by the United States and Italy, and Germany is the most cited and influential country. Moreover, research also revealed the leading authors, top journals, and highly cited papers. The findings may be used as a guide for: (1) improving the efficiency of intelligent transportation system element management; (2) the development and application of digital technologies; (3) the flow and goals of entire-life-cycle management; and (4) the optimization of related algorithms and models.

This article gives an overview of the development of psychology of religion in post-Soviet Russia from the 2000s to the present. The author evaluates this period as a stage of reviving of research in the fi eld in question. This trend is supposed to be associated with the infl uence of the personal factor and the objectively existing white spot in this fi eld rather than with a social request or the improvement in the fi nancialsituation of Russian science compared with the 1990s. There is positive dynamics in the nuber of defended academic theses in the fi eld of psychology of religion. The number of publications has also been increasing. The article outlines key thematic areas of research on psychology of religion, discusses the problem of developing methodological instruments, analyses the educational literature published in 2000‒2010 as well as signifi cant scientifi c events. The author of the article states that psychology of religion in Russia is currently going through the phase when the scientifi c community of psychologists and researchers of religion begins to identify itself and to consolidate its research eff orts. However, despite the clear though moderate growth, psychology of religion still remains in the shadow of institutionalised Christian psychology on the one hand and a range of other religious disciplines on the other hand.

This study explores emerging trends of student theses in English language teaching master degree programs in Colombia. In this study, we categorized 156 abstracts into their research context, research areas, and research method, adding to the tapestry of ELT novice research worldwide. The results demonstrate that the majority of the theses reviewed were practical in scope and smaller-scaled projects, focusing on language skills and subskills, teacher-related aspects such as methodology, beliefs, etc., and curriculum. A small percentage delved into more complex or broader aspects of education inside the language classroom. They also were mainly qualitative, case studies or action research using a variety of data collection techniques that corresponded with the main research design. As a conclusion, an increased balance in research topics and methods is suggested to strengthen novice research and encourage more participation in the worldwide conversation on English language teaching and learning.

Abstract Plants, and the biological systems around them, are key to the future health of the planet and its inhabitants. The Plant Science Decadal Vision 2020–2030 frames our ability to perform vital and far‐reaching research in plant systems sciences, essential to how we value participants and apply emerging technologies. We outline a comprehensive vision for addressing some of our most pressing global problems through discovery, practical applications, and education. The Decadal Vision was developed by the participants at the Plant Summit 2019, a community event organized by the Plant Science Research Network. The Decadal Vision describes a holistic vision for the next decade of plant science that blends recommendations for research, people, and technology. Going beyond discoveries and applications, we, the plant science community, must implement bold, innovative changes to research cultures and training paradigms in this era of automation, virtualization, and the looming shadow of climate change. Our vision and hopes for the next decade are encapsulated in the phrase reimagining the potential of plants for a healthy and sustainable future. The Decadal Vision recognizes the vital intersection of human and scientific elements and demands an integrated implementation of strategies for research (Goals 1–4), people (Goals 5 and 6), and technology (Goals 7 and 8). This report is intended to help inspire and guide the research community, scientific societies, federal funding agencies, private philanthropies, corporations, educators, entrepreneurs, and early career researchers over the next 10 years. The research encompass experimental and computational approaches to understanding and predicting ecosystem behavior; novel production systems for food, feed, and fiber with greater crop diversity, efficiency, productivity, and resilience that improve ecosystem health; approaches to realize the potential for advances in nutrition, discovery and engineering of plant‐based medicines, and "green infrastructure." Launching the Transparent Plant will use experimental and computational approaches to break down the phytobiome into a "parts store" that supports tinkering and supports query, prediction, and rapid‐response problem solving. Equity, diversity, and inclusion are indispensable cornerstones of realizing our vision. We make recommendations around funding and systems that support customized professional development. Plant systems are frequently taken for granted therefore we make recommendations to improve plant awareness and community science programs to increase understanding of scientific research. We prioritize emerging technologies, focusing on non‐invasive imaging, sensors, and plug‐and‐play portable lab technologies, coupled with enabling computational advances. Plant systems science will benefit from data management and future advances in automation, machine learning, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence‐assisted data integration, pattern identification, and decision making. Implementation of this vision will transform plant systems science and ripple outwards through society and across the globe. Beyond deepening our biological understanding, we envision entirely new applications. We further anticipate a wave of diversification of plant systems practitioners while stimulating community engagement, underpinning increasing entrepreneurship. This surge of engagement and knowledge will help satisfy and stoke people's natural curiosity about the future, and their desire to prepare for it, as they seek fuller information about food, health, climate and ecological systems.

The article presents the analysis of the two classification schemes that are integrated in Web of Science Core Collection - the “Web of Science Categories” and “Research Areas”. Our study was facilitated by the often conflicting information about these classifiers in periodicals and blogs on the Internet. Since the question of choosing a classifier for searching documents is of fundamental importance, the relevance of the answer to the question of how these classifiers differ from each other is obvious. It is revealed that both classifiers do not contain fundamental differences: 136 categories (directions) have a similar designation, and the search for documents revealed the complete identity of the results for 115 of these categories. Documents on narrow areas of “Web of Science Categories” are included in wider “Research Areas”. The article shows what the maximum shares they are included in these areas. Both classifiers are based on the principle of classifying the journal to a particular subject category, and the documents inherit all those thematic categories that have been assigned to primary journals. The only difference found in the classifiers “Web of Science Categories” and “Research Areas” is the breadth of subject categories (research areas).

The main purpose of this study is to provide a comprehensive picture of the current status of audit research in Iran. In addition, this study seeks to present more clear directions about the research opportunities by examining the trends of research themes overtime as well as identifying research areas which have been less considered by researchers. This paper reviews 457 audit research articles published in 16 accounting and auditing scientific journals as well as publications of economic, management and financial groups from 1992 to autumn of 2017. In order to make a literature review map, the conceptual framework of the articles was examined and independent and dependent variables were identified. Based on the matrix of relations examined in the papers, a comprehensive conceptual framework of audit research in Iran was obtained and 11 research areas were identified along with the frequency of studied relationships in each area. More than 60% of the research has used the archival method and 33% of the research has used the survey method. Audit quality has been a major part of past studies and 70 percent of the research conducted in this area has examined the consequences of audit quality. After audit quality, audit fees and auditors' opinions are ranked second and third. Professional Skepticism, judgment and decision making, fraud, ethics, and professional conduct have been less considered by researchers.

The article analyzes the activity of Siberian medical higher education institutions in the development of the research areas in the late 50’s – early 90’s XX century. The paper explores the most significant achievements of medical scientists of the region in the leading fields of medical science: therapy, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, dentistry, genetics, microbiology and other areas. It is shown that the most significant volume of research was carried out in Tomsk, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk and Omsk medical institutes where there were formed the authoritative scientific schools. The teachers and researchers of medical institutes actively participated in the implementation of regional programs including the program “Human Health in Siberia”, which was a part of the superprogram “Siberia”. The author dwells on the experience of establishing business ties in conducting research, using of experimental and clinical base between university and academic medical science. Forms and methods of interaction in this field of scientific activity, such as scientific and practical associations, interdepartmental laboratories, creative contracts and agreements, participation of scientists in the work of elected academic and higher educational institutions are analyzed. The author affirms that along with the strengthening of business contacts between university and academic medical institutions, there were many difficulties: communications were often spontaneous, a great deal depended on the relationship between the governing structures of medical institutions and academic research institutes, there was a disunity in solving some scientific issues. The obtained data allow to draw a conclusion that the research work of medical universities in Siberia in the period under review was aimed at increasing the scale of research, the growth of scientific potential and raising the its effectiveness in the interests of socio-economic development of the region and the country as a whole. The work is based on archival sources and materials, which are for the first time are being introduced into scientific circulation.

Publications on fuzzy set theory and its applications have grown exponentially. The increasing rate of developments in the field is a response to diverse factors, including the need for robust mathematical approaches that model human-like perceptions, values and decision-making processes in complex and dynamic systems. This study presents a citation analysis of 22 narrowly targeted fuzzy set theory journals with a focus on leading authors and research areas. In this paper, bibliometric tools are used for the treatment and analysis of a large amount of data retrieved from the rigorous Web of Science scientific database. The aim of the paper is to offer a general overview of the influence that fuzzy set theory has on academicians and diverse scientific fields. Its objective is to identify connections, trends and opportunities for synergies. The results of over 62,000 published documents, which represent more than 1,300,000 citations in the selected journals, show computer science and engineering as the top citing research fields and authors Xu, Pedrycz and Herrera as the top citing researchers. Purpose: The objective of the paper is to use text mining to identify leading research domains concerning the smart city following an analysis of research articles with a high citation index according to the Web of Science. Design/methodology/approach: An original method is proposed for analysing academic texts using the R language, tokenisation, lemmatisation, n-grams and correspondence analysis. The author analysed fifty of the most cited articles indexed in the Web of Science from 2014 to 2019. Findings: The paper presents the advantages and drawbacks of the proposed method of analysing research publications. The assets include automation and repeatability of the analysis of a large number of documents and improved knowledge about links among the articles in terms of research domains. The disadvantage is the loss of information from diagrams and figures. The method identified two leading research domains related to the notion of the smart city, technologies and systems. The analysed publications were categorised by selected keywords. Research limitations/implications: Future work should include further refinement of the assumptions for the method, analyses of a more significant number of research texts and a narrowing down of the domain of the smart city. It is desirable to consider other functional domains of the city, such as energy, public health, environmental protection or transport. Practical implications: The proposed method can complement a standard literature analysis regarding the smart city. The leading research domains related to the smart city in the analysed articles were systems and technologies employed to improve how the city operates. Social implications: Text mining can be employed by various experts focusing on the smart city and constitutes a refreshing complement for other research methods, such as questionnaire surveys, interviews or observations. Originality/value The publication can be useful for researchers from various fields and managers seeking to create and use simple, useful methods and tools for analysing unstructured text documents for decision-making. The paper proposes a separate text mining analysis of abstracts and whole documents using n-grams. This yielded a more precise list of areas relevant to the smart city.
