A series of new Sb3+ doped-(DETA)InCl6 organic–inorganic hybrid metal halide single crystals were synthesized. The PLQY of single crystals doped with 10% Sb was up to 100%, and white light emission was achieved when the Sb doping amount was 0.005%.

This research aims to discover information underlying the historical records of marine incidents in order to develop an effective marine traffic management system and rescue resource allocation system in the harbours and waters surrounding Taiwan. Data were collected from the official records of the Taiwanese Ministry of Transportation and Communications and the Coast Guard Administration of Taiwan. Data analysis and Google Earth were utilized to determine the locations of the occurred incidents. The results revealed that on an annual basis, the proportion of marine incidents outside of harbours was much higher than the incidents that took place within harbours. The results also showed that the rate of increase for marine incidents significantly decreased outside of harbours, but increased within harbours, both for commercial vessels and fishing boats from 2005 to 2009. Certain events, such as collisions/contacts, groundings/standings, mechanical malfunctions/failures, and fires/explosions accounted for more than half of the occurred accidents. Finally, the identification of incident locations provides visual evidence to elucidate precisely where the problems are and where rescue resources should be optimally allocated. Recommendations and implications for marine traffic management policy were discussed.

This paper presents a novel heuristic optimization algorithm for discrete optimization problems, the Bandwidth Restricted Transmission-Simulated Optimization Algorithm (BRT-S). This algorithm imitates the intellective behaviors of human in managing network transmission. BRT-S is a constructive heuristic algorithm whose optimization procedures simulate processes of data transferring and management operations over the network. A population of solution agents mimicking message transmitters on networks is deployed to quest for optimal solutions. The algorithm however restricts the resource utilized in solution search mimicking the bandwidth resource is limited in network transmission. As a result, agents must compete with others to obtain solution construction resources. Due to the mimicked bandwidth restriction, not every agent is able to complete a solution construction. Only constructed solutions are subject to objective value evaluations. In each evolution iteration, bandwidth resources are separately modulated by conducting bandwidth deterioration, enhancement, or depletion, on the basis of the solution qualities obtained. To illustrate the operation procedures of the algorithm, a BRT-S computation model for solving the Traveling Salesman Problem is presented and the solving system is implemented for benchmark testing. Numerical results of the tests indicate that given similar computation resources, the algorithm generates better solutions than other meta heuristic algorithms, such as ACO and GA.

According to the Huaxi Group 2# blind inclined shaft hoisting machine adopts TKD-A control system in speed control performance is poor, the control circuit is complex, high noise, stability and low reliability, this paper proposes a SCR-D system to replace the original scheme of reforming the electric control system. The paper introduces the structure and working principle of SCR-D system, shows the main equipment selection of the main circuit, and gives the system installation and adjustment. The result shows, the reformed electric control system has characteristics of perfect protection, control with high precision, good energy saving effect. It achieved the expected goal.

Undoped and Eu 3+ activated Ln 3 BWO 9 (Ln=Y, La, Gd) were prepared by the Pechini method and characterized with X-ray diffraction (XRD) and ultraviolet (UV) spectroscopy. All the samples have the hexagonal phase after heat treatment in the range of 850–1000 °C. The Eu 3+ doped samples emit high-purity red light with peak maximum at about 617 nm under excitation of UV light (∼285 nm) at room temperature. When the doping concentration of Eu 3+ is about 20–30%, luminescence intensity reaches the maximum. Luminescence decay curves indicate that Ln 3 BWO 9 :Eu 3+ exhibits a fast decay time of about 0.5 ms. A possible luminescence mechanism has also been proposed. It is worth noting that both the absorption of host lattice and the charge transfer (CT) transition of Eu 3+ are of great importance to the promising luminescent performance of Ln 3 BWO 9 :Eu 3+ .

Objective To investigate the effects of Moerella iridescens polysaccharide (MIP) on expression/function of Hepatitis B virus (HBV) transfected HepG2 cells. Methods HepG2.2.15 cells were treated with different concentrations of MIP (10－2–104μg/ml), and they were cultured in vitro. The MTT assay, time-resolved fluoroimmunoassay (TRFIA), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) were used to detect the cytotoxic effect of MIP on HepG2.2.15 cells and its effects on HBsAg, HBeAg, and Pre-S1Ag secreted by HepG2.2.15 cells. The fluorescence quantitative PCR (FQ-PCR) was employed to evaluate the inhibitory effects of MIP on the duplication of HBV-DNA. Results The results indicated that MIP had no clear cytotoxic effect on HepG2.2.15 cells in the concentrations from 10－2μg/ml to 102μg/ml, and the TC50 of MIP was 4633μg/ml. MIP had some inhibitory effects at the concentrations from 10－2μg/ml to 102μg/ml on HBsAg, HBeAg, Pre-S1Ag, and HBV-DNA. The therapeutic indices (TI) of MIP on HBsAg, HBeAg, Pre-S1Ag, and HBV-DNA were 129, 28, 20, and 83, respectively. Conclusions MIP has a certain dose-dependent inhibitory effect on HBsAg, HBeAg, Pre-S1Ag, and HBV-DNA in the culture supernatant fluid of HepG2.2.15 cells; there is a dose–effect relationship, which shows that MIP has some anti-HBV activities.

Four discrete T5 cluster compounds with Cu–M–S constituents (M = In for compound 1, Ga for 2–4) have been synthesized in an ionic liquid (IL) [Bmmim]Cl (Bmmim = 1-butyl-2,3-dimethyl-imidazolium), which represent the largest molecular clusters in a Tn series. The in situ decomposition of the IL generates the Bim ligand (Bim = 1-butyl-2-methyl-imidazole) that directly coordinates to some of the corner Ga3+ ions of the T5 clusters in 3–4, leading to the formation of the first inorganic–organic hybrid T5 clusters. 2–4 show significantly broad photoluminescent emission bands ranging from 500 to 800 nm with a full width at half maximum (fwhm) at about 180 nm. This research provides a new method for synthesizing molecular metal chalcogenides that uses ILs as a reactive solvent and stabilizer.
