For a local suitable weak solution to the Navier-Stokes equations, we prove that if the vorticity vectors belong to a double cone in regions of high vorticity magnitude, then the solution is regular. Roughly speaking this implies that, near a potential singularity, the directions of vorticity cannot avoid any great circle on the unit sphere. Our method, based on the control of local vorticity fluxes, is inspired by the classical Kelvin-Helmholtz law for ideal fluids and the Type I regularity theory for axisymmetric Navier-Stokes solutions.

We prove the global well-posedness and scattering for the 3D incompressible Euler-Coriolis system with sufficiently small, regular and suitably localized initial data. Equivalently, we obtain the asymptotic stability for "rigid body" rotational solutions to the pure Euler equations. We consider some new estimates for general steady Navier-Stokes solutions in plane domains. According to our main result, if the domain is convex, then the difference between mean values of the velocity over two concentric circles is bounded (up to a constant factor) by the square-root of the Dirichlet integral in the annulus between the circles. The constant factor in this inequality is universal and does not depend on the ratio of the circle radii. Several applications of these formulas are discussed.

Edges, binding together nodes within networks, have the potential to induce dramatic transitions when specific collective failure behaviors emerge. These changes, initially unfolding covertly and then erupting abruptly, pose substantial, unforeseeable threats to networked systems, and are termed explosive vulnerability. Thus, identifying influential edges capable of triggering such drastic transitions, while minimizing cost, is of utmost significance. Here, we address this challenge by introducing edge collective influence (ECI), which builds upon the optimal percolation theory applied to line graphs. ECI embodies features of both optimal and explosive percolation, involving minimized removal costs and explosive dismantling tactic. Furthermore, we introduce two improved versions of ECI, namely IECI and IECIR, tailored for objectives of hidden and fast dismantling, respectively, with their superior performance validated in both synthetic and empirical networks. Finally, we present a dual competitive percolation (DCP) model, whose reverse process replicates the explosive dismantling process and the trajectory of the cost function of ECI, elucidating the microscopic mechanisms enabling ECI's optimization. ECI and the DCP model demonstrate the profound connection between optimal and explosive percolation. The interplay among Coulomb interaction, electron-phonon coupling, and phonon-phonon coupling has a significant impact on the low-energy behavior of three-dimensional type-I tilted Dirac semimetals. To investigate this phenomenon, we construct an effective theory, calculate one-loop corrections arising from all these interactions, and establish the coupled energy-dependent flows of all associated interaction parameters by adopting the renormalization group approach. Deciphering such coupled evolutions allows us to determine a series of low-energy critical properties for these materials. At first, we present the low-energy tendencies of all interaction parameters. The tilting parameter exhibits distinct tendencies that depend heavily upon the initial anisotropy of fermion velocities. In comparison, the latter is mainly dominated by its initial value but is less sensitive to the former. Variations in these two quantities drive certain interaction parameters toward the strong anisotropy in the low energy regime, indicating the screened interaction in specific directions, and others toward an approximate isotropy. Additionally, we observe that the tendencies of interaction parameters can be qualitatively clustered into three distinct types of fixed points, accompanied by the potential instabilities that induce certain interaction-driven phase transition. Furthermore, approaching these fixed points leads to the critical behavior of physical quantities, such as the density of states, compressibility, and specific heat, which exhibit quite different from their non-interacting counterparts and even deviate slightly from Fermi-liquid behavior. We have performed a spectral-timing analysis on the black hole X-ray binary MAXI J1535--571 during its 2017 outburst, with the aim of exploring the evolution of the inner accretion flow geometry. X-ray reverberation lags are observed in the hard-intermediate state (HIMS) and soft-intermediate state (SIMS) of the outburst. During the HIMS, the characteristic frequency of the reverberation lags $\nu_0$ (the frequency at which the soft lag turns to zero in the lag-frequency spectra) increases when the spectrum softens. This reflects a reduction of the spatial distance between the corona and accretion disc, when assuming the measured time lags are associated with the light travel time. We also find a strong correlation between $\nu_0$ and type-C Quasi Periodic Oscillation (QPO) centroid frequency $\nu_{QPO}$, which can be well explained by the Lense-Thirring (L-T) precession model under a truncated disk geometry. Despite the degeneracy in the spectral modellings, our results suggest that the accretion disc is largely truncated in the low hard state (LHS), and moves inward as the spectrum softens. Combine the spectral modelling results with the $\nu_0$ - $\nu_{QPO}$ evolution, we are inclined to believe that this source probably have a truncated disk geometry in the hard state.

Empirical networks possess considerable heterogeneity of node connections, resulting in a small portion of nodes playing crucial roles in network structure and function. Yet, how to characterize nodes' influence and identify vital nodes is by far still unclear in the study of networks with higher-order interactions. In this paper, we introduce a multi-order graph obtained by incorporating the higher-order bipartite graph and the classical pairwise graph, and propose a Higher-order Augmented Random Walk (HoRW) model through random walking on it. This representation preserves as much information about the higher-interacting network as possible. The results indicate that the proposed method effectively addresses the localization problem of certain classical centralities. In contrast to random walks along pairwise interactions only, performing more walks along higher-order interactions assists in not only identifying the most important nodes but also distinguishing nodes that ranked in the middle and bottom. Our method outperforms classical centralities in identifying vital nodes and can scale to various tasks in networks, including information spread maximization and network dismantling problems. The proposed higher-order representation and the random walk model provide novel insights and potent tools for studying higher-order mechanisms and functionality.

GRB 221009A is the brightest gamma-ray burst ever detected since the discovery of this kind of energetic explosions. However, an accurate measurement of the prompt emission properties of this burst is very challenging due to its exceptional brightness. With joint observations of \textit{Insight}-HXMT and GECAM-C, we made an unprecedentedly accurate measurement of the emission during the first $\sim$1800 s of GRB 221009A, including its precursor, main emission (ME, which dominates the burst in flux), flaring emission and early afterglow, in the hard X-ray to soft gamma-ray band from $\sim$ 10 keV to $\sim$ 6 MeV. Based on the GECAM-C unsaturated data of the ME, we measure a record-breaking isotropic equivalent energy ($E_{\rm iso}$) of $\bf \sim 1.5 \times 10^{55}$ erg, which is about eight times the total rest-mass energy of the Sun. The early afterglow data require a significant jet break between 650 s and 1100 s, most likely at $\sim950$ s from the afterglow starting time $T_{AG}$, which corresponds to a jet opening angle of $\sim {0.7^\circ} \ (\eta_\gamma n)^{1/8}$, where $n$ is the ambient medium density in units of $\rm cm^{-3}$ and $\eta_\gamma$ is the ratio between $\gamma$-ray energy and afterglow kinetic energy. The beaming-corrected total $\gamma$-ray energy $E_{\gamma}$ is $\sim 1.15 \times10^{51} \ (\eta_\gamma n)^{1/4}$ erg, which is typical for long GRBs. These results suggest that this GRB may have a special central engine, which could launch and collimate a very narrowly beamed jet with an ordinary energy budget, leading to exceptionally luminous gamma-ray radiation per unit solid angle. Alternatively, more GRBs might have such a narrow and bright beam, which are missed by an unfavorable viewing angle or have been detected without distance measurement., Comment: Submitted to National Science Review. We prove a logarithmic improvement of the Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg partial regularity theorem for the Navier-Stokes equations. The key idea is to find a quantitative counterpart for the absolute continuity of the dissipation energy using the pigeonhole principle. Based on the same method, for any suitable weak solution, we show the existence of intervals of regularity in one spatial direction with length depending exponentially on the natural local energies of the solution. Then, we give two applications of the latter result in the axially symmetric case. The first one is a local quantitative regularity criterion for suitable weak solutions with small swirl. The second one is a slightly improved one-point CKN criterion which implies all known (slightly supercritical) Type I regularity results in the literature.

We study the decays $B_{c,u,d}\to X(3872)P$ in the perturbative QCD (PQCD) approach, where the puzzling resonance $X(3872)$ is involved and $P$ represents a light pseudoscalar meson $K$ and $\pi$. Assuming the $X(3872)$ as a $1^{++}$ charmonium state, we find the following results: (a) The branching ratios for the decays $B^+_c\to X(3872)\pi^+$ and $B^+_c\to X(3872) K^+$ agree with the results predicted by the covariant light-front approach within errors, but are larger than those given by the generalized factorization approach; (b) The branching ratio for the decay $B^+\to X(3872)K^+$ is predicted as $(3.8^{+1.1}_{-1.0})\times10^{-4}$, which is smaller than the previous PQCD calculation result, but still slightly larger than the upper limits set by Belle and BaBar. So we suggest that the decays $B^{0,+}\to X(3872)K^{0,+}$ should be precisely measured by the running LHCb and Belle II experiments, which is very helpful to probe the inner structure of the $X(3872)$; (c) Compared with the decays $B_{u,d}\to X(3872)K$, the decays $B_{u,d}\to X(3872)\pi$ have much smaller branching ratios, which drop to as low as $10^{-6}$; (d) The direct CP violations for these considered decays are very small, only $10^{-3}\sim 10^{-2}$, because the penguin contributions are loop suppressed compared with the tree contributions. Testing the results for the branching ratios and the CP violations including the implicit $SU(3)$ and isospin symmetries in these decays by experiments is helpful to probe the nature of the $X(3872)$., Comment: 11 pages, 2 figures

We prove exterior energy lower bounds for (nonradial) solutions to the energy-critical nonlinear wave equation in space dimensions $3 \le d \le 5$, with compactly supported initial data. In particular, it is shown that nontrivial global solutions with compact spatial support must be radiative in the sense that at least one of the following is true: (1) $\int_{|x|> |t|} \left( |\partial_t u|^2 + |\nabla u|^2 \right) \mathrm{d}x \ge \eta_1(u) > 0, \ \mathrm{for} \ \mathrm{all} \ t \ge 0 \ \mathrm{or} \ \mathrm{all} \ t \le 0,$ (2) $\int_{|x|> -\varepsilon +|t|} \left( |\partial_t u|^2 + |\nabla u|^2 \right) \mathrm{d}x \ge \eta_2(\varepsilon, u) > 0, \ \mathrm{for} \ \mathrm{all} \ t \in \mathbb{R}, \varepsilon > 0.$ In space dimensions 3 and 4, a nontrivial soliton background is also considered.
