However, there is a notable lack of research in Colombia addressing this phenomenon. This study contributes to the emerging field by considering the roles of involvement and emotional impact. Objective: To analyze the psychometric properties of a ghosting scale in romantic relationships, designed and applied to a Colombian sample. Methodology: The research is instrumental, cross-sectional, with a single group. The incidental sample consisted of 691 participants, aged between 18 and 40 years (M = 24.03; SD = 4.47). A 62.4% (n = 431) were women. Results: Adequate evidence of reliability and content and construct validity was recognized. Additionally, the scale is correlated with social media addiction. The scale is distributed into three factors according to the proposed theoretical framework. Conclusions: Romantic Ghosting Scale demonstrates optimal psychometric properties in terms of content and construct validity, along with excellent reliability values. The scale has a solid theoretical foundation and can be used to measure ghosting in romantic relationships, its roles, and its emotional impact on young Colombian adults.

To minimize potential distractions for deployed military service members (SMs), some nondeployed romantic partners have reported engaging in protective buffering, or intentionally withholding information or concerns to protect their deployed partner. This study assessed the associations of protective buffering and psychological distress and marital satisfaction for military couples during and after deployment. Additionally, the study explored whether protective buffering was related to SM reports of being distracted during deployment by family matters. A total of 54 couples provided data before, during, and after an Army deployment. In multilevel models, higher protective buffering by partners was associated with higher psychological distress and lower marital satisfaction for both SMs and partners during, but not after, deployment. Additionally, partners reported frequent use of protective buffering during deployment; however, protective buffering was not significantly correlated with family related distraction for SMs during deployment. Limitations and implications of these findings are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This exploratory study aimed to verify the impact of the attachment network on dealing with potential disruptive experiences. For this purpose, sought for possible relations between attachment representations and the experience of break-up of romantic relationships. Forty-four adults engaged in semi-structure interviews and questionnaires on attachment, coping and responses of grief. Results indicated that the representations of attachment mediated patterns of coping strategies and responses of grief. This study concluded that poor socio-emotional network increases the experience of vulnerability and the ability for effectively coping.

- Abstract
Men and women present differences that go beyond evolutionary mechanisms of reproduction and species maintenance; social and cultural dimensions are indicated as modeling agents of different configurations of romantic relationships. This study presents the results of relationship quality models based on Sternberg’s triangular love theory. There were 335 subjects involved in romantic relationships, of whom 190 (56.7%) were male and 145 (42.3%) were female. Mean age of the participants was 29 years (SD = 9.1 years). The results of the study point out that love components predict relationship satisfaction differently per gender. For women, the intimacy, passion and commitment variables are significant predictors, whereas for men the commitment variable was not significant., Homens e mulheres apresentam diferenças que vão além de mecanismos evolutivos de reprodução e manutenção da espécie; dimensões sociais e culturais são indicadas também como agentes de diferentes configurações de relacionamento romântico. Se analizan y discuten los resultados., During the past several decades, a number of theories studying romantic relationships and love styles have emerged. Based on these theories, it seemed interesting to study the romantic relationships of 120 students of the Faculty of Education at the University of Granada and confirm the correlation with gender difference, determining if they differ in the importance they attach to different styles of love. To do this, we administered the Scale of Attitudes on Love (LAS). The results indicate that among women the most accepted style of love is Eros while in men it is Ludus. In the Agape and Mania styles there is a clear difference between women and men, as the men obtained higher scores than expected. In the styles of Pragma and Storge love indifference, regardless of gender is shown. We analyze and discuss the results., Departamento de Psicología Social
