Dissertação para obtenção do grau de Mestre no Instituto Universitário Egas Moniz A Sociedade atual está cada vez mais atenta às plantas e aos seus benefícios em diferentes áreas da Saúde, Estética, Alimentar, etc, o que explica que a exploração e utilização do Aloé Vera tenha vindo a aumentar nos últimos anos, com a comunidade científica a incentivar a investigação das suas propriedades e possíveis utilizações no campo da Medicina Dentária. Aloé Vera, uma planta cujo interesse já remonta há vários anos, mas a relevância das suas vantagens e aplicações químicas e biológicas em Medicina Dentária continua uma questão recente e incerta, que devia ser mais explorada, com diversos autores responsáveis por diversos estudos neste campo a incentivar o mesmo. Por ser uma fonte de 19 aminoácidos essenciais que são exigidos pelo nosso corpo e rica em vitaminas e minerais, a Aloé Vera ganhou uma boa reputação e é considerada campeã entre os medicamentos de saúde, mas também o melhor alimento saudável do século XXI. Tem propriedades em diversos campos: medicinais, alimentares, mas poucos efeitos secundários relatados em estudos recentes, provando ser uma mais-valia muitas vezes em comparação com outros produtos conhecidos e mais utilizados em Medicina Dentária. No futuro, deverá ser feito um esforço conjunto na comunidade científica de investigar mais profundamente as possibilidades que esta planta oferece, devido à escassez de artigos disponíveis na internet, de forma a acompanharmos a preocupação atual com a natureza, com as alterações climáticas, preservando e valorizando mais aquilo que o planeta Terra nos oferece, o que vai de encontro às ideologias desta nova geração de futuros médicos dentistas, mas também conseguirmos uma opção mais natural, pois compostos naturais são um substituto mais seguro no tratamento de infeções orais e são também uma abordagem na dissuasão e tratamento de doenças adicionais, incluindo as cáries dentárias. Today's society is increasingly more attentive to plants and their benefits in different areas of Health, Aesthetics, Food, etc., which explains why the exploration and use of Aloe Vera has been increasing in recent years, with the scientific community encouraging research into its properties and possible uses in the field of Dental Medicine. Aloe Vera, a plant whose interest goes back several years, but the relevance of its advantages and chemical and biological applications in Dentistry remains a recent and uncertain question which should be further explored, with several authors responsible for several studies in this field encouraging the same. Being a source of 19 essential amino acids that are required by our body and rich in vitamins and minerals, Aloe Vera has gained a good reputation and is considered a champion among health medicines, but also the best health food of the 21st century. It has properties in several fields: medicinal, food, but few side effects reported in recent studies, proving to be an asset often compared to other known and most used products in dentistry. In the future, a joint effort should be made in the scientific community to investigate more deeply the possibilities that this plant offers, due to the scarcity of articles available on the internet, in order to keep up with the current concern with nature, with climate change, preserving and valuing more what planet Earth offers us, which is in line with the ideologies of this new generation of future dentists, but also to achieve a more natural option, as natural compounds are a safer substitute in the treatment of oral infections and are also an approach in the deterrence and treatment of additional diseases, including dental caries.

Em plena pandemia, perante o encerramento abrupto das escolas e a consequente suspensão das atividades letivas e não letivas facilmente se percebe que, se existem dificuldades em trabalhar com a generalidade dos alunos, elas ganham maior relevância quando se trata de alunos com necessidade de mobilização de medidas seletivas ou adicionais de suporte à aprendizagem e à inclusão. Esta preocupação motivou a questão de partida deste estudo: que respostas educativas foram dadas pela Educação Especial, durante a pandemia, na modalidade de ensino a distância aos alunos com medidas seletivas e/ou adicionais? Desta questão emergiu o objetivo geral: conhecer a resposta educativa no âmbito da Educação Especial, num Agrupamento de escolas do Algarve. O estudo enquadra-se num paradigma qualitativo, sendo um estudo exploratório na forma de estudo de caso centrado num Agrupamento de escolas do Algarve. A recolha de dados foi realizada através de entrevistas semiestruturadas a seis professores de educação especial, a três técnicas especializadas, à representante da Direção do Agrupamento na equipa multidisciplinar de apoio à educação inclusiva e a cinco encarregadas de educação de alunos a usufruírem de medidas seletivas ou adicionais e procedemos, ainda, à análise de documentos do Agrupamento. Este estudo permitiu perceber que durante o ensino a distância são os alunos com medidas adicionais que sofrem mais perdas a nível académico, pessoal e social. A extensão e profundidade desses prejuízos estão diretamente relacionadas com o nível de autonomia do aluno, com as dificuldades individuais, com o acesso e capacidade de utilização de meios digitais e também com as competências familiares. O ensino presencial é a situação preferencial, mas perante circunstancias em que o ensino a distância é uma necessidade, a implementação de planos com características inclusivas contribuem para a mitigação desses impactos negativos. In the midst of a pandemic, faced with the abrupt closure of schools and the consequent suspension of teaching and non-teaching activities, it is easy to see that, if there are difficulties in working with most students, they gain greater relevance when it comes to students in need of mobilization of selective or additional measures to support learning and inclusion. This concern motivated the starting question of this study: what educational responses were given by special education, during the pandemic, in the distance learning modality to students with selective and/or additional measures? From this question emerged the general objective: to know the educational response within the scope of Special Education, in a school cluster in the Algarve. The study fits into a qualitative paradigm, being an exploratory study in the form of a case study centered in a school cluster in the Algarve. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews with six special educational needs teachers, three therapists, the representative of the school board in the multidisciplinary team to support inclusive education and five parents/guardians of students benefiting from selective or additional measures and we also proceeded to the analysis of documents of the cluster. This study allowed us to understand that during distance learning, students with additional measures suffer more academic, personal and social losses. The extent and depth of these losses are directly related to the student's level of autonomy, individual difficulties, access and ability to use digital media and also family skills. Face-to-face teaching is the preferred situation, but in circumstances where distance learning is a necessity, the implementation of plans with inclusive characteristics contribute to the mitigation of these negative impacts.

© 2020 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC., Positive Youth Development (PYD) presents a strength-based conception of transition to adulthood that has been well-supported by literature to date. However, research is needed to integrate the pathways to PYD and the possible moderators. This study aimed to analyze the relationships between internal resources for resilience and PYD and to examine the moderating role of short-term and long-term self-regulation by gender. To reach this overall aim, a cross-sectional study was performed with a national sample of 2700 youths (73.3% girls; Mage = 21.3, SD = 2.79) from Portugal, who completed self-report measures. Regression-based moderation models were developed. Results indicated that greater presence of internal resources for resilience was related to higher PYD. Long-term self-regulation and gender moderated this relationship, such that a greater effect was observed in men with high levels of long-term self-regulation. Resumo Este trabalho pretende analisar os cidadãos que viviam em Portugal durante a pandemia COVID-19 2020/2021, a saúde subjetiva, o risco percebido e a perceção relacionada com o surto, a motivação para a proteção e adoção de comportamentos preventivos, e suas expetativas de futuro. Foram incluídos 225 indivíduos, 81,3% do sexo feminino (18-83 anos; M = 36 anos; DP = 13,42), 49,8% solteiros, e 53,3% empregados. Os dados foram analisados através do software SPSS v. 26 e teste Qui-quadrado. Os resultados mostram que as mulheres se destacam numa maior perceção de probabilidade de infeção, apresentando maior motivação para a proteção e comportamentos como desinfetar o telemóvel. São também, a par dos jovens, quem menos se sente protegido por parte das ações tidas pelas autoridades locais. Com menor perceção de probabilidade de infeção, os jovens foram quem menos aumentou os seus comportamentos de proteção como evitar tocar a face. Semelhantemente aos adultos +55 anos, são quem apresenta expectativas mais positivas do tempo que a situação do país levará a melhorar. As mulheres e grupo 35-44 anos, são quem perceciona maior severidade dos impactos na saúde. Com base nos resultados, espera-se contribuir para o desenvolvimento e adaptação de políticas de saúde pública e de prevenção e promoção da saúde relacionadas com a pandemia, repensando-se a adaptação e desenvolvimento de estratégias de promoção da saúde e bem-estar para grupos-alvo específicos, como os jovens e mulheres.

Mestrado Bolonha em Ciências Empresariais Este trabalho final de mestrado apresenta dois objetivos principais: perceber as motivações dos Millenials na escolha de emprego, entre recompensas financeiras, condições de trabalho e ambiente social; e compreender as perceções desta geração quanto à importância da dimensão das organizações presentes no mercado de trabalho português. Com suporte na literatura existente sobre as gerações presentes no mercado laboral, os atributos preferenciais na procura de emprego e o impacto da dimensão das organizações na escolha de emprego, procurou compreender-se quais os atributos prioritários na escolha do trabalho ideal pelos Millenials, e relacionar essas preferências com a dimensão das organizações e a sua capacidade para satisfazer as exigências planeadas. Foi utilizada uma amostra de 275 pessoas das diversas gerações presentes no mercado laboral português, com idades compreendidas entre os 19 e os 70 anos. Através do SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), foram analisados os dados e testadas as hipóteses de investigação, fundamentadas na literatura existente, aproveitando também para comparar os resultados entre as diferentes gerações. Este estudo permitiu concluir que os Millenials dão maior importância às recompensas financeiras do emprego e que acreditam que estas serão mais facilmente correspondidas em grandes organizações; e percebeu-se que os Millenials consideram as grandes organizações como escolha ideal na procura de emprego. Foi também possível compreender que se está a viver uma inversão de tendências quanto à perceção do papel do trabalho na vida, e que o impacto do emprego e a exigência de condições se estão a alterar, verificando-se novas preferências e prioridades na escolha de emprego pelas gerações mais novas face às gerações mais velhas presentes no mercado de trabalho português. This master's final work has two main goals: to understand the Millennials motivations in job search, related to financial rewards, working conditions and social environment, and to understand the perceptions of this generation regarding the size of organizations in the Portuguese labor market. Based on the existing literature, the preferential attributes in job search and the impact of the size of organizations in the choice of employment, we sought to understand which are the priority attributes in the choice of the ideal job by Millenials and relate these preferences to the size of organizations and their ability to meet planned the requirements. It was used a sample of 275 people from different generations present in the Portuguese labor market, aged between 19 and 70 years, was used. Through SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), the data were analyzed and the research hypotheses were tested, based on the existing literature, also taking opportunity to compare the results between generations. This study allowed us to conclude that Millennials attach greater importance to the financial rewards of employment and believe that these will be more easily matched in large organizations. It was also felt that the Millenials consider large organizations to be the ideal choice when looking for a job. It was also possible to understand that there is an inversion of trends and mentalities regarding the perception of the role of work in life, and that the impact of employment and the demand for conditions are changing, with new preferences and priorities in the choice of employment by the younger generations, compared to the older generations, present in the Portuguese labor market. info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion
