In order to clear up causes of late detection of pulmonary tuberculosis 772 outpatients' case histories, materials of centralized new cases control and results of untimely case-finding analysis were studied in Vinnitsa region for the period from 1989 to 1992. Neglect of normative demands aimed at early tuberculosis case-finding, general practitioners' unwatchfulness and poor quality of fluorography service were established to be the main causes of untimely diagnosis of the disease.
