[ES] Las abejas son un grupo extremadamente diverso con más de 1000 especies descritas en la península ibérica. Además, son excelentes polinizadores y aportan numerosos servicios ecosistémicos fundamentales para la mayoría de ecosistemas terrestres. Debido a los diversos cambios ambientales inducidos por el ser humano, existen evidencias del declive de algunas de sus poblaciones para ciertas especies. Sin embargo, conocemos muy poco del estado de conservación de la mayoría de especies y de muchas de ellas ignoramos cuál es su distribución en la península ibérica. En este trabajo presentamos un esfuerzo colaborativo para crear una base de datos de ocurrencias de abejas que abarca la península ibérica e islas Baleares que permitirá resolver cuestiones como la distribución de las diferentes especies, preferencia de hábitat, fenología o tendencias históricas. En su versión actual, esta base de datos contiene un total de 87 684 registros de 923 especies recolectados entre 1830 y 2022, de los cuales un 87% presentan información georreferenciada. Para cada registro se incluye información relativa a la localidad de muestreo (89%), identificador y colector de la especie (64%), fecha de captura (54%) y planta donde se recolectó (20%). Creemos que esta base de datos es el punto de partida para conocer y conservar mejor la biodiversidad de abejas en la península ibérica e Islas Baleares, [EN] Bees are a diverse group with more than 1000 species known from the Iberian Peninsula. They have increasingly received special attention due to their important role as pollinators and providers of ecosystem services. In addition, various rapid human-induced environmental changes are leading to the decline of some of its populations. However, we know very little about the conservation status of most species and for many species, we hardly know their true distributions across the Iberian Peninsula. Here, we present a collaborative effort to collate and curate a database of Iberian bee occurrences to answer questions about their distribution, habitat preference, phenology, or historical trends. In total we have accumulated 87 684 records from the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands of 923 different species with 87% of georeferenced records collected between 1830 and 2022. In addition, each record has associated information such as the sampling location (89%), collector and person who identified the species (64%), date of the capture (54%) and plant species where the bees were captured (20%). Aim: Much research has focused on the separate and combined effects of habitat and geography on species communities, both in mainland and island ecosystems. However, few studies have looked into the differences among communities inhabiting different island habitats. Here we aim to determine the contributions of habitat filtering and dispersal to the differences in taxonomic structure of island communities across geographic scales. Location: Sixty plots in two habitats (forest and dry habitat) across eight islands of the Macaronesian archipelagos of the Azores, Madeira, Canary Islands and Cabo Verde. Taxon: Spiders (Araneae). Methods: We generated community data by using the optimised and standardised COBRA sampling protocols. We tested the differences in three beta diversity metrics ( βTotal, βReplacement and βRichness) for each habitat and dispersal category separately, across geographic scales through nested non-parametric PerMANOVA. We tested if dispersal and habitat influenced differences between the communities of the same area by applying a PERMDISP to βreplacement, and using the distances in linear mixed models. We tested the effects of habitat and dispersal on species relative abundances (SADs) and rarity by building Gambin models for each community and dispersal group separately. Results: Communities grouped according to archipelago and habitat, in terms of taxonomic similarity. In general, β diversity increased with geographic scale, and was greater in dry habitats. βReplacement among communities of the same region was greater in dry habitats than in forests, and this difference was stronger for rare ballooners. Dry habitat communities showed more species with low abundances (rare species) at different spatial scales. Main conclusions: Our findings reveal that habitat type does not only condition the processes behind community assembly but also the scale at which they occur. Campiglossa sororcula (Wiedemann, 1830) Material examined. Remarks. Campiglossa sororcula was previously placed in the genus Dioxyna Frey, 1945. However, a study on DNA barcoding by Smit et al. (2013) showed that this genus was placed within the genus Campiglossa and was recently formally synonymized by Han & Ro (2019). This species is distributed in tropical and subtropical regions. Larvae attack flower heads of Bidens sp. and other weeds (Kapoor 2005; Starr & Starr 2011). This fly can be found in a variety of habitats from natural to urban areas (Kapoor 2005) and is the most common and widespread tephritid in Madeira Island (Smit 2006). Campiglossa producta (Loew, 1844) Material examined. Remarks. This species belongs to one of the largest genera of the family Tephritidae present in the Palaearctic (Norrbom et al. 1999). Campiglossa producta can be found from Central Asia to the Mediterranean Basin and also in Madeira and Canary Islands (Merz 1992; Korneyev & Dirlbek 2000; Merz 2001; Smit 2006; El Harym & Belqat, 2017). It is associated with open habitats and its larvae feed on a wide range of Asteraceae (White 1988; Mohamadzade Namin & Nozari 2015). In Madeira this species is distributed throughout the island and is frequent at high altitudes (Smit 2006). Oedosphenella bob Smit new species (Figs. 1C, 1G, 2A–D, 3A–D) Material examined. Holotype ♂: Original labels: “1851- 1 ♂ / Vereda Eira do Serrado to / Curral das Freiras / 17.vi.2004 / leg. F. Aguiar ”, “ Holotype / Oedosphenella / bob sp. n. / det. J.T. Smit 2019” (MMF). The holotype is in good condition and was photographed prior to dissection of the abdomen. Paratype ♀. Both types are deposited in the collection of MMF. Description. Male. Wing length: 3.8 mm (Fig. 2A, 2C) Head. Yellow, frons slightly darker and with a few setulae above the lunule. Basoflagellomere orange. The following setae acuminate and black: frontal, anterior orbital, medial vertical, ocellar setae, genal setae and some of the shorter postocular setae, all others are lanceolate and white. Subvibrissal setulae black. Proboscis spatulate and yellow, palpi yellow with few black setulae, otherwise with white setulae. Thorax. Black, entirely dusted, golden dorsally, more greyish anteriorly and laterally predominantly greyish. All major setae black and acuminate, all setulae lanceolate and white. One pair of dorsocentral setae posterior to transverse suture and one pair of prescutellar acrostichal setae. Two pairs of equally developed scutellar setae, with a few white setulae in between. Scutellum slightly convex, not shiny but dusted, more or less concolorous with scutum. Legs. Entirely orange-brown, including coxae. Setulae predominantly black. Profemur with a row of strong black setae posteroventrally, hindfemur with a row of strong black setae anteroventrally. Wings. Pattern strong, apical band isolated and without hyaline indentation posteriorly (Fig. 1C, 2A). Cell cup with a short but broad extension, bent in vein Cu2 about halfway. Abdomen. Tergites all black, without a narrow grey-brown posterior edge, black setulose except for syntergite 1+2, the lateral edges of the tergites as well as a single row of slightly longer setulae on the posterior edges; these are all white. Terminalia: Surstyli each with two prensisetae, and a strong, triangular posterior prong (Fig. 3A, 3B). Vesica well developed, broadly rounded but with a clear triangular projection (Fig. 3C). Distiphallus as in Fig. 3D. Description of female (Fig. 2B, 2D). Wing length: 4.5 mm. Very similar to male, except for the obvious sexual differences. Abdominal tergites narrowly grey-brown at posterior edge. Oviscape entirely black. Diagnosis. This species is immediately distinguished from its congeners by the tomentose and non-shiny scutellum and the wing pattern, with the posterior band entire, without a hyaline indentation posteriorly. Etymology. This species is named in honour of the late Bob van Aartsen, friend and mentor of this species’ author. The specific epithet should be treated as a noun in apposition. Biology. So far, all host plant records for species in the Sphenella group of genera are confined to the plant genus Senecio (Asteraceae) (Freidberg 1987; Freidberg & Kaplan 1992). As for the genus Oedosphenella, Munro (1939) stated that O. auriella develops in spindle-shaped stem galls of Senecio sp. and Merz (1992) reported O. canariensis from flower heads of Senecio steetzii. It is therefore believed that O. bob sp. n. most probably develops in Senecio too. Trupanea stellata (Fuessly, 1775) Material examined. Desertas: Ilhéu Chão (3 females, 1 male) Remarks. Trupanea stellata is widely distributed all over the Palearctic (Norrbom et al. 1999). It breeds in a variety of Asteraceae (White 1988). Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann, 1824) Material examined. Madeira: Porto Novo (1 female, 3 males). Remarks. Ceratitis capitata is one of the major fruit pests. Native to the Afrotropical region, it has successfully established in other parts of the World, mainly in tropical and subtropical areas (Malacrida et al. 2007). This species is a key pest of fruit production in Madeira and Porto Santo. This is a rare endemic species of Madeira and the Canary Islands. In spite of the few records, this species has been found in different habitats such as the laurel forest (Merz 1992) or along the coast on sea cliffs (Smit 2006). Larvae of T. insularum have been reared on Andryala spp (Merz 1992; Smit 2006). Sphenella marginata (Fallén, 1814) Material examined. Madeira: Calheta (1 female): Ponta de São Lourenço (1 male); Porto Santo: Cabeço da Ponta (1 male); Morenos (1 female, 6 males). Remarks. This species naturally occurs in the Palearctic, from Europe to Afghanistan (Norrbom et al. 1999). Adults are usually found in dry habitats, where their larvae feed exclusively on Senecio plants (Smit 2006; Mohamadzade Namin & Nozari 2012). It is an uncommon species in the Madeira archipelago, restricted to the south of Madeira Island.
