Indonesia telah mencanangkan program sertifikasi halal sejak tahun 2014. Program ini dimaksudkan untuk memberikan kepastian kehalalalan sehingga konsumen muslim terhindar dari produk haram. Ketentuan mengenai jaminan halal tercantum dalam undang undang Nomor 33 tahun 2014 tentang Jaminan Produk Halal (JPH). Dalam Undang-undang tersebut ditegaskan bahwa produk yang masuk, beredar, dan diperdagangkan di Indonesia wajib bersertifikasi halal (Pasal 4), oleh karena itu pemerintah bertanggung jawab dalam menyelenggarakan JPH (Pasal 5). Selanjutnya, kebijakan tentang halal dikuatkan dan dimudahkan pelaksanaannya melalui UU No. 11 Tahun 2020 tentang Cipta Kerja. Semua produk yang beredar di Indonesia wajib bersertifikat halal pada tahun 2024. Melalui kedua undang-undang tersebut dapat dipahami bahwa produk pangan yang bersertifikasi halal memiliki potensi pasar yang lebih luas dibanding produk yang belum bersertifiaksi halal. Selain perusahaan besar, produk makanan dan minuman yang beredar di Indonesia juga diproduksi oleh usaha kecil mikro kecil dan menengah (UMKM). Usaha kecil mikro kecil dan menengah (UMKM) merupakan jenis usaha yang terbukti sangat kokoh menghadapi berbagai goncangan ekonomi. Pemulihan ekonomi nasional secara cepat dapat dilakukan dengan menggulirkan kembali roda UMKM. Berdasarkan data yang terhimpun di Asosiasi Pengusaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah Banyumas (ASPIKMAS), jumlah pengusaha UMKM di Banyumas mencapai kurang lebih 3500 orang. Jumlah ini menghasilkan produk makanan dan minuman yang cukup banyak. Sebagian kecil produk sudah memiliki sertifikat halal dari MUI, namun sebagian besar dari produk makanan dan minuman yang dipasarkan saat ini belum mendapatkan sertifikat halal dari BPJPH. Kendala utama dari permasalahan ini adalah, umumnya anggota ASPIKMAS belum memiliki wawasan yang cukup mengenai ruang lingkup kegiatan yang dapat memudahkan untuk mendapatkan sertifikasi halal. Beberapa upaya telah dilakukan Asosiasi dalam membina anggota melalui pertemuan dan kegiatan pelatihan rutin. Namun demikian karena jumlahnya yang banyak dan tersebar, maka masih dipandang perlu untuk melakukan kolaborasi dengan institsusi pendidikan agar akselerasi pembinaannya semakin cepat. Oleh karena program IbM ini bekerjasama dengan ASPIKMAS mengadakan kegiatan pelatihan sistem jaminan produk halal. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan IbM menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan UMKM dalam menyusun sistem jaminan produk halal. Hal ini dapat dievaluasi dari peningkatan hasil rata-rata post-test yang mencapai 81 poin. Nilai ini naik 31 % dibandingkan sebelum peserta mengikuti pelatihan.

The activation of activated carbon using microwave-assisted hydrochloric acid (HCl) has been carried out. This objective of this study was to investigate the effects of the concentration of HCl (1M to 6 M) and time of microwave irradiation (5 to 25 mins) on the iodine number and urea adsorption. The results showed that the concentration of HCl had a significant effect on the quality of the activated carbon. Activation of carbon using 6 mol/L of HCl resulted the iodine adsorption capacity of 1002 mg/g and urea adsorption of 99 mg/g. Microwave irradition time also has a significant effect on the quality of activated carbon. The best microwave irradiation time showed at 25 minutes that resulted in iodine adsorption capacity of 1112 mg/g and urea adsorption capacity of 97 mg/g.

Slow release urea fertilizer (SRF) had been made by wet granulation on a pan granulator. The current study was to understand how the variable wet granulation process of disk granulators affects the physical properties of granules, such as granule durability, density, granule yield, and water absorption. The response of variation two factors was observed, namely adhesive concentration and granulation time. The chosen adhesive is starch from cassava flour. The type of adhesive, composition of the formulation, angle of slope, speed of rotation, and weight of the material are kept constant to minimize their influence on the properties of the granule. To find out the effect of changing variables on the response, a single factor ANOVA analysis was performed. Furthermore, a linear regression model was built to understand the impact of variables on physical properties. The results showed that the impact of adhesive concentration had a positive influence on the response of water absorption, bulk density, yield and durability. In addition, the higher the concentration of the adhesive, the more dispersion time will increase. The same thing happens with variations in granulation time. SEM images of granules showed that compact sphere granules were produced at higher adhesive concentrations.

Natural zeolite activation from Cikalong, Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia, has been investigated experimentally. The activation process is carried out with a solution of sodium chloride (NaCl), which is utilized by ultrasound cavitation. The purposes of this research are to determine the effect of variation of process variables on the physical-chemical characteristics of zeolites. There were two variables studied, namely; sonication time and NaCl concentration. The study was conducted with the one factor at a time (OFAT) method, which is observing responses to changes in one variable at other constant. The range of sonication time of 20 - 60 minutes, while the NaCl concentration is 0.25N - 4N. Natural zeolites and activated zeolites are then characterized using SEM, XRF, FTIR, iod number, and cation exchange capacity to test their physical-chemical characteristics. Characterization results showed that activated natural zeolite had better quality than natural zeolite. The results of the SEM analysis showed the crystal type of natural zeolite minerals in the form of elongated crystals and others, which indicate the shape of quartz and mordenite. XRF analysis results prove that the elements of Ferrum, calcium, magnesium, and potassium are cations that can be exchanged with other metal elements. The results of the volumetric analysis showed an increase in iodine number and cation exchange capacity, along with an increase in sonication time and decreased along with the increasing of NaCl concentration. Based on these properties, zeolites have excellent performance as an adsorbent.

Bahan Tambahan Pangan (BTP) akan kita jumpai dalam makanan kita sehari – hari. Perlunya pengetahuan tentang penggunaan BTP bagi remaja tentunya akan menghindari konsumsi jajanan yang berbahaya. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah : 1) Meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang perilaku hidup sehat, 2) Meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang bahan tambahan makanan yang berbahaya, 3) Meningkatkan keterampilan mengidentifikasi kandungan borak dan formalin dalam makanan,. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendidikan masyarakat melalui ceramah, simulasi, demonstrasi, Kelompok sasaran kelompok Remaja Masjid Baitul Arqom (RIMBA) Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa : 1) ada peningkatan pengetahuan tentang perilaku hidup sehat dan pengetahuan mengenai bahan tambahan makanan yang berbahaya Kata Kunci : perilaku, hidup sehat, pengawet, formalin, boraks ABSTRACT Food Additives (BTP) will encounter in our daily food - today. The need for knowledge about the use BTP for adolescents will certainly avoid eating snacks that are dangerous.
