ResumenLa comunidad universitaria no podía ser ajena a las actividades de cooperación,cuyo principal objetivo es la transformación de la sociedad en busca de loseternos ideales de lograr una sociedad más justa, más libre, a través del desarrollo global sostenible.La universidad va definiendo su marco de intervención afianzando progresivamente su presencia en el mundo de la cooperación. Para ello cuenta con un apreciable potencial científico, técnico y organizativo en continua evolución.Se presentan las ideas básicas del marco de intervención específico orientadoa la mejora del acceso a servicios básicos.ResumoA comunidade universitária não pode estar afastada das atividades de cooperação, cujo principal objetivo é a transformação social em busca do eterno ideal de alcançar uma sociedade mais justa e livre, através do desenvolvimento sustentável global.A universidade vai definindo seu rol de intervenção garantindo sua presença,progressivamente, no mundo da cooperação. Para isto, tem isto um apreciável potencial científico, técnico e organizacional em evolução contínua.Neste trabalho, apresentam-se as ideias básicas do âmbito de intervenção especificamente orientado à melhoria do acesso à água e ao saneamento.

Introduction. Socioeconomic and demographic changes pose a future crisis in the provision of care. The family is still con-sidered the primary source where such care will be received and as future main caregivers to today’s young generation. Objectives. Identifying the value and experience of the family care of young people, as well as analyzing their vision of the caretaker family. Methodology. We used a qualitative design. We performed 9 interviews of law students and nursing students at the University of Granada. The field work was carried out between June and July 2012. The analysis of the information is made with the help of Atlas-ti 5. Results. Those interviewed expressed some knowledge about what was family care. They showed they had experience in family care and concern for its future status if they were to reconcile their working lives with their role as carers. Conclusion. Family care is important for young people, they have experience in family care and they believe that the family should work in it., Introducción. Los cambios socioeconómicos y demográficos plantean una futura crisis en la provisión de cuidados. La familia se sigue considerando la principal fuente donde se recibirán esos cuidados y como cuidadores principales futuros a la generación de jóvenes de hoy. Objetivos. Identificar el valor y la experiencia del cuidado familiar de los jóvenes, así como analizar su visión del cuidador familiar. Metodología. Se utilizó un diseño cualitativo. Se realizaron 9 entrevistas semiestructuradas a alumnos de Derecho y Enfermería de la Universidad de Granada. El trabajo de campo se realizó en-tre Junio y Julio de 2012. El análisis de la información se hizo con la ayuda de Atlas-ti 5.O. Resultados. Los entrevistados expresaban tener conocimiento sobre qué era el cuidado familiar. Manifestaban tener experiencia en el cuidado familiar y preocupación por su situación futura si tuvieran que conciliar su vida laboral con su faceta de cuidadores. Conclusión.El cuidado familiar es importante para los jóvenes, tienen experiencia en el cuidado familiar y creen que toda la familia debe colaborar en el mismo

[EN] The naphthoquinone shikonin, a major component of the root of Lithospermum erythrorhizon, now is studied as an anti-inflammatory agent in the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC). Acute UC was induced in Balb/C mice by oral administration of 5% dextran sodium sulfate (DSS). The disease activity index was evaluated, and a histologic study was carried out. Orally administered shikonin reduces induced UC in a dose-dependent manner, preventing the shortening of the colorectum and decreasing weight loss by 5% while improving the appearance of feces and preventing bloody stools. The disease activity index score was much lower in shikonin-treated mice than in the colitic group, as well as the myeloperoxidase activity. The expression of cyclooxygenase-2 was reduced by 75%, activation of NF-kappa B was reduced by 44%, and that of pSTAT-3 by 47%, as well as TNF-alpha, IL-1 beta, and IL-6 production. Similar results were obtained in primary macrophages culture. This is the first report of shikonin's ability to attenuate acute UC induced by DSS. Shikonin acts by blocking the activation of two major targets: NF-kappa B and STAT-3, and thus constitutes a promising potential therapeutic agent for the management of the inflammatory bowel disease.
