We fabricate field-effect transistors (FETs) from low-layer molybdenum ditelluride (MoTe2) in the nanometer range and study its optoelectronic properties. In particular, we investigate the mechanisms of photocurrent generation in MoTe2 FETs using gate and bias-dependent photocurrent measurements. The results obtained show the photocurrent effects and signals generated in the MoTe2-electrode junctions, which identify the effect of amplifying the photoconductor in the off and on modes. This is different from those conventional MoTe2 FETs, which exhibited a continuous increase in photocurrent with no back gate voltage. These results play an important role in the fabrication of direction dependent field effect transistors based on MoTe2 crystals.

The main functional part of the supercapacitors and nanogenerators made up of various types of nanostructured materials. The contemporary devices have been manufactured employing different kinds of nanomaterials based on nanoflake and nanowire structures. These hierarchical materials show high efficiency on engineering electrodes for supercapacitors as well as piezoelectric for nanogenerators. Here, we have successfully synthesized NiCo2O4 nanowires on ZnO nanoflakes by applying two-step hydrothermal method which is absent similar analogous to date. The microscopic analysis has shown the uniform growth of NiCo2O4 nanowires on ZnO nanoflakes. This fabricated material might be used in above mentioned purposes in the future.

Introduction: Targeting tumor microenvironment is beneficial and present an ideal setting for the development of futuristic immunotherapy. Here, we make use of Nuclear prelamin A recognition factor (NARF), a protein linked to the coactivation of transcriptional regulators in human breast cancer stem cells (CSC) in our investigation. Methods: In this study, we initially computed the epitope regions possessing the ability to stimulate both T and B cells within the NARF protein. These identified epitope areas were fused with an adjuvant such as RpfB and RpfE as well as linkers like AAY, GPGPG, KK, and EAAAK. The constructed vaccine was further characterized by assessing its physicochemical properties and population coverage. The potential interactions of the designed vaccine with different toll-like receptors were examined by a sequence of computational studies. Of note, docking study were employed to understand its mechanism of action. Molecular dynamics and immune simulation studies were conducted to comprehend more into their structural stability and immune responses. The resultant vaccine was back-translated, codon-optimised and introduced into pET-28 (+) vector. Results and discussion: We hypothesize from the results that the designed NARF protein-based vaccine in our analysis could effectively provoke the immune responses in the target organism through TLR-7 binding and promotes MHC class-II mediated antigen presentation. Indeed, comprehensive evaluations conducted in both in vitro and in vivo settings are imperative to substantiate the safety and efficacy of the developed vaccine. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Recently, it is been shown that cold atmospheric pressure plasmas Cold Atmospheric Plasma effectively inactivate the 2019-nCoV virus. Despite this promising finding, the precise mechanism of this inactivation remains unclear due to the limited number of studies conducted on the subject. Consequently, this paper focuses on the spike protein, a crucial part of the novel coronavirus, and the various reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) generated by the plasma. The study employs reactive molecular dynamics simulation and ReaxFF potential to explore the reactions between the spike protein molecules and different reactive oxygen nitrogen species (including H2O2, OH, O, O3, HOONO, and 1O2). The findings suggest that when a single RONS interacts with the spike protein, 1O2 and HOONO have the most potent ability to sever the spike protein. Additionally, the combined effect of long-lived and short-lived RONS presents a more potent decomposition impact. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

2H MoTe2 (molybdenum ditelluride) has generated significant interest because of its superconducting, nonvolatile memory, and semiconducting of new materials, and it has a large range of electrical properties. The combination of transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) and two dimensional (2D) materials like hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) in lateral heterostructures offers a unique platform for designing and engineering novel electronic devices. We report the fabrication of highly conductive interfaces in crystalline ionic liquid-gated (ILG) field-effect transistors (FETs) consisting of a few layers of MoTe2/h-BN heterojunctions. In our initial exploration of tellurium-based semiconducting TMDs, we directed our attention to MoTe2 crystals with thicknesses exceeding 12 nm. Our primary focus centered on investigating the transport characteristics and quantitatively assessing the surface interface heterostructure. Our transconductance (gm) measurements indicate that the very efficient carrier modulation with an ILG FET is two times larger than standard back gating, and it demonstrates unipolarity of the device. The ILG FET exhibited highly unipolar p-type behavior with a high on/off ratio, and it significantly increased the mobility in MoTe2/h-BN heterochannels, achieving improvement as one of the highest recorded mobility increments. Specifically, we observed hole and electron mobility values ranging from 345 cm2 V−1 s−1 to 285 cm2 V−1 s−1 at 80 K. We predict that our ability to observe the intrinsic, heterointerface conduction in the channels was due to a drastic reduction of the Schottky barriers, and electrostatic gating is suggested as a method for controlling the phase transitions in the few layers of TMDC FETs. Moreover, the simultaneous structural phase transitions throughout the sample, achieved through electrostatic doping control, presents new opportunities for developing phase change devices using atomically thin membranes.
