The purpose – This research aims to investigate responsible environmental behavior intention of travelers formed upon visiting ecotourism sites in Indonesia. Nowadays, ecotourism has become a popular concept of tourism in Indonesia due to its rich potential of natural and cultural resources. Nevertheless, it is undeniable that not all travelers visiting ecotourism objects demonstrate positive environmental behavior. Several previous studies have already revealed that travelers’ behavior may alter after visiting tourism sites. Unfortunately, there has not been much discussion on travelers’ positive behavior formed after visiting an ecotourism site. In this research, four variables regarded as significant in shaping responsible environmental behavior intention included destination image, trip quality, perceived value, and satisfaction. Design/Methodology – This research applied a survey method. The research sample consisted of travelers who had visited ecotourism sites in Indonesia, while the number of respondents amounted to 210 travelers. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was selected as the technique of analysis. Finding – This research confirmed that five proposed hypotheses were supported. Hence, this study clearly contributes to the development of the theory and concept of ecotourism useful for practitioners associated with ecotourism activities. Originality of the research – Research on ecotourism in developing countries has not been much done. Similarly, the research on ecotourism related to intention to behave environmentally responsible is still not much to investigate, while the ecotorurism activities in Indonesia began in earnest. Therefore, research is expected to contribute ideas and implementation of ecotourism in developing countries.

Objective: To analyze predictors of survival involved in liver retransplantation (LRT), including the Rosen Model (RM)., Materials and Methods: This was a descriptive, observational, and unicentric study based on predictors of survival including patients who underwent LRT in a tertiary medical center between April 2002 and December 2018. Recipient, donor, and transplant data were collected, and RM score was calculated for every patient. Fisher exact test and Student t test were used for qualitative and quantitative variables, respectively. The Shapiro-Wilks test was applied to verify the normality of the sample. Survival differences between subgroups were checked using the log-rank test. Statistical significance was stated at P < .05., Results: Among 32 retransplanted patients in this period, 17 (53.1%) survived more than 12 months after LRT. The results of statistical associations between prognostic factors and overall survival highlighted that an older recipient age was significantly correlated with a lower overall survival. The 3-month overall survival was 84.3%. Nineteen patients had a low risk according to RM, with a 3-month survival rate of 78.9%. Eight had a RM intermediate risk, with a survival rate of 21%. Despite the aforementioned data, the log-rank test did not find statistical differences in survival (P = .488)., Conclusion: We should consider older recipient age as a negative prognostic factor of overall survival. Also, we should contemplate intermediate risk according to RM as an adverse predictor regarding survival in LRT. Aim: To analyze the causes of liver retransplantation (LRT), which mostly depend on recipient factors., Materials and Methods: A descriptive, observational, and unicentric study including patients who underwent an LRT in a tertiary medical center between April 2002 and December 2018. Recipient, donor, and liver transplant data were collected., Results: During the period under review a total of 468 transplants were made; among them, 32 (6.8%) were LRT. The most common indication (25%) was hepatic artery thrombosis (HAT) developing ischemic cholangiopathy followed by chronic rejection (21.8%). Late LRT was performed in 71.8%. A total of 96.8% of donations were after brain death with a donor median age of 65 years. Six patients (18.7%) had HAT as a postoperative complication. The recipients' 3-, 6-, and 12-month overall survival was 72.7%, 54.6%, and 51.5%, respectively, and the 5-year was 46.8%. Leading cause of death was septic shock (42.1%)., Conclusion: In our patients, the most common cause of LRT is HAT. The growth of compound semiconductors on silicon has been widely sought after for decades, but reliable methods for defect-free combination of these materials have remained elusive. Recently, interconnected GaAs nanoscale membranes have been used as templates for the scalable integration of nanowire networks on III-V substrates. Here, we demonstrate how GaAs nanoscale membranes can be seamlessly integrated on silicon by controlling the density of nuclei in the initial stages of growth. We also correlate the absence or presence of defects with the existence of a single or multiple nucleation regime for the single membranes. Certain defects exhibit well-differentiated spectroscopic features that we identify with cathodoluminescence and micro-photoluminescence techniques. Overall, this work presents a new approach for the seamless integration of compound semiconductors on silicon.

GaAs nanomembranes grown by selective area epitaxy are novel structures. The high refractive index of GaAs makes them good candidates for nanoantennas. We numerically studied the optical modal structure of the resonator. The nanomembrane geometry introduces a strong light-polarization dependence. The scattering is dominated by an electric dipole contribution for polarization along the nanomembrane long dimension and by a magnetic dipole contribution in the orthogonal direction. The dependence on the geometry of the resonances close to the GaAs band gap was modeled by a single coefficient. It describes the resonance shifts against up-to 40% changes in length, height, and width. We showed that the nanomembranes exhibited field enhancement, far-field directionality, and tunability with the GaAs band gap. All these elements confirm their great potential as nanoantennas.

Objective: The objective of this study was to compare liver transplantation outcomes as a function of donor age., Material and Methods: We performed 212 liver transplantations between 2008 and 2014. We described a prospective cohort study and grouped the patients by liver donor age. We compared quantitative and categorical variables using statistical analysis., Results: No statistically significant differences were found among any graft age groups in gender (always more males), time on waiting list, age, height, Child Pugh Turcotte (CHILD) score, Model for End-stage Liver Disease (MELD) score, need for intraoperative blood products, or intensive care unit stay. The most frequent etiology of liver failure was alcohol. A brain-dead donor was the most frequent type in all groups. The whole graft was used except in 4 cases. No statistically significant differences were found among groups in the surgical technique, postreperfusion syndrome, arterial complications, biliary complications, venous complications, acute rejection, and retransplantation. The 3-year patient survival rate was 64% in the <60-year graft age group, 48% in the 60- to 69-year group, 64% in the 70- to 79-year group, and 40% in the ≥80-year group (P = .264). The 3-year graft survival rate was 62% in the <60-year graft age group, 47% in the 60- to 69-year group, 65% in the 70- to 79-year group, and 40% in the ≥80-year group (P = .295)., Conclusions: Given the need to increase the pool of liver donors, older donors should be considered as a source for liver transplantation, although careful selection is required., (Copyright © 2016 Elsevier Inc. We performed a retrospective cohort study between 2002 and 2014 to compare liver transplantation outcomes between recipients of grafts from donors older than and younger than the age of 80 years. Numerical variables were compared with the Student t test when their distribution was normal and the Mann-Whitney test when it was not, whereas categorical variables were compared with Pearson chi-squared test or Fisher test, as appropriate; P < .05 was considered significant. The study included 312 patients with organs from donors younger than 80 years of age and 17 with organs from older donors. The 2 recipient groups did not significantly differ in weight, height, gender, body mass index (BMI), CHILD or MELD score, intensive care unit (ICU) or hospital stay, need for intraoperative hemoderivatives, postreperfusion syndrome, biliary or vascular complications, ischemic cholangiopathy, number of repeat surgeries, graft rejection, retransplantation, or survival at 6 months. Although earlier studies considered livers from elderly donors to be suboptimal, our results support the proposition that octogenarian donors can be an excellent source of liver grafts., (Copyright © 2015 Elsevier Inc. In this work we examined MoS₂ sheets by aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) at three different energies: 80, 120 and 200 kV. Structural damage of the MoS₂ sheets has been controlled at 80 kV according a theoretical calculation based on the inelastic scattering of the electrons involved in the interaction electron-matter. The threshold energy for the MoS₂ material has been found and experimentally verified in the microscope. At energies higher than the energy threshold we show surface and edge defects produced by the electron beam irradiation. Quantitative analysis at atomic level in the images obtained at 80 kV has been performed using the experimental images and via STEM simulations using SICSTEM software to determine the exact number of MoS2₂ layers., (Copyright © 2014 Elsevier B.V.
