Abstract

Game theory is of substantial significance in diverse domains, acting as a potent instrument to comprehend and assess strategic engagements among rational decision-makers. It formulates mathematical models to represent strategic interactions among rational decision-makers in the competitive world. Due to ambiguity in the real-world problems, acquiring the precise payoff values of a matrix game proves challenging. However, in numerous scenarios, these payoffs fluctuate within specific ranges, making them suitable for consideration as interval numbers. This leads to the formulation of a special form of game problem known as the interval valued game problem (IVGP). Some methodologies exist in the literature to find the optimal strategies as well as the value of game for IVGP, but most of them possess some limitations, resulting in the need for proposing a new methodology to find the optimal strategies and value of game. Thus, in this paper, a new solution method for game problems with payoffs represented as interval numbers is presented, utilizing the fuzzy concept. The process begins by transforming the interval payoffs into fuzzy numbers using a ranking function. Subsequently, these fuzzy payoffs are converted into crisp values, leading to the formulation of the crisp matrix game. The resulting crisp matrix game is then solved using linear programming approach. Additionally, MATLAB code for the proposed method is developed and proposed to streamline the computation process, enhancing comparison and decision-making efficiency, particularly when dealing with large payoff matrices. Furthermore, three numerical examples are provided to illustrate the validity of the proposed approach as well as its MATLAB code. A real-life example of IVGP in the realm of tourism industry is also provided. Finally, a comparative analysis is conducted, comparing the proposed method with some existing methods. 26. Water-assisted absorption of CO2 by 3-amino-1-propanol: a mechanistic insight.

Abstract

The mechanism of the proton transfer in the reaction between CO2 and 3-amino-1-propanol with and without water molecules is investigated quantum-mechanically. Studies revealed that water molecules and the hydroxy group of 3-amino-1-propanol explicitly participate in the proton transfer, forming carbamic acid. It is found that water has a high impact on the energetics of CO2 absorption by reducing the barrier for proton transfer. Apart from the water molecules, the hydroxy group of alkanolamine significantly affects the energetics of the reaction. Five cases involving two, three, and four protons are discussed, and it is found that the proton transfer occurs in a concerted manner that depends on the initial configuration of the reaction complex. The present study unequivocally confirms the role of water molecules in the CO2 capturing via amine-based solvents. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

These materials are prepared by thermal treatment of biomass precursors at elevated temperatures and further activation for effective charge storage capabilities. Herein, we show how the nature of carbon precursors tunes the charge storage of various carbohydrate-derived carbon materials. The specific capacitance showed a significant difference with the monosaccharides or the type of glycosidic linkages between the monomeric units in disaccharides. Among the prepared amorphous carbon materials, maltose-derived carbon showed a maximum specific capacitance of 278 F g−1due to a high surface area, porosity in sub-microporous region, and oxygen containing heteroatom functionalities. The charge storage analysis of the as-prepared carbon materials provides insight into the supercapacitor properties of these materials, which will help build intricate electrochemical devices from biomass-derived carbon precursors.

Glass-fiber reinforced concrete (GRFC) is a fabric product of a cementatious matrix composed of cement, sand, water and admixtures, wherein brief duration glass fibers are dispersed. It has been broadly used within the creation enterprise for non-structural factors, like façade panels, piping and channels. GRC gives many advantages, inclusive of being lightweight, heat resistance, appropriate look and strength.
