Using the Rescaled Adjusted Partial Sums (RAPS) and spectral analysis methods, the study aimed to extract subperiods (a break point analysis) based on data from 18 meteorological stations in Montenegro and determine the elementary periodicity using the Lomb periodogram of mean seasonal and annual air temperatures and precipitation totals for the period 1961–2020. Prior to this, trend calculations were performed, which showed a significant increase in mean seasonal and annual temperatures, with the most intense warming occurring in the summer (from 0.30 to 0.75 °C/decade). Trends in seasonal and annual precipitation totals are insignificant. According to RAPS values, two subperiods are clearly distinguished for temperatures, and a sudden increase in mean annual temperatures at 11 stations (61.1%) occurred only in 1997 and 1998. The year 1991 was a break point in 22.1% of cases. For seasonal and annual precipitation totals, a minimum of 4 subseries can be distinguished at all stations. According to the RAPS method, the years 2002 and 2003 most frequently appear as the last pivotal points leading to an increase in annual precipitation totals. In terms of precipitation, the most prominent periodicity observed is at 2.1 and 3.6 years, suggesting a quasi-biennial oscillation. Additionally, a 14.7-year periodicity is noted in winter precipitation, and a 3-year periodicity signals ENSO. Regarding average annual and seasonal temperatures, short-term (2–3 years), medium-term (4–5 years) and long-term (6, 8 and over 20 years) periodicities are distinguished. The robot selection process for the welding industry has been one of the most difficult issues over the past several decades. Due to an upsurge in complexity, advanced technologies, and features that are continuously being added to robotics by several manufacturers, the decision-making process for robot selection is becoming increasingly complicated. Multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) is crucial because it impacts the effectiveness of a robotics ranking and an operation as a whole. Given the circumstances of Vietnam's businesses, it makes sense to have a process that makes robot selection more convenient. This paper proposes a novel procedure to identify the best spot-welding robot for Vietnamese enterprises. To be more specific, two MCDM methods, including ranking alternatives based on median similarity (RAMS) and ranking alternatives by perimeter similarity (RAPS), have been established. Each MCDM method is integrated in turn with two variants of the method based on the removal effects of criteria (MEREC-G and MEREC-H) to identify the optimal alternative. The results indicate that the proposal process can determine the best and worst alternatives, similar to other processes. Furthermore, when applying the proposed ranking process, adding or removing alternatives does not affect the ranking order. In addition, the alternative shuffle phenomenon does not appear during the ranking process. It reveals that the proposed procedure is more stable compared to the other MCDM approaches. The variability of river flow depends on environmental changes that are due to either natural or human causes. Measuring river flow is an essential activity in the domain of hydrology that gives valuable information on river conditions. An appropriate understanding of the conditions of the water courses and a good anticipation of all possible situations and problems that may arise are essential. The average daily river flow time series will be analyzed on the case study of river Gornja Dobra in Croatia. Rescaled Adjusted Partial Sums (RAPS) analysis with correlation analysis will be applied to the time series provided by two available limnigraph measurement stations, Turkovići and Luke. The examples will give insight into the ability to forecast river flows in the analyzed case study and other regions in Croatia and the world. The presented methodology could be used for flood protection, determining the hydro-energy potential of the rivers, irrigation, and many other purposes.

This article presents a robust analysis based on the data obtained from a genuine microgrid in operation, simulated by utilizing a diesel generator (DG) in lieu of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to meet the same load during periods of elevated energy costs. The study reveals that the BESS significantly outperforms the DG and the conventional electrical grid in various financial and environmental aspects. Environmentally, BESS accounts for zero CO2 emissions, compared to the 67.32 tons of CO2 emitted annually by the DG. Financially, the total cost of BESS over 20 years (USD 1,553,791.31) is lower than that of DG (USD 1,564,965.18) and the electrical grid (USD 2,726,181.09). Furthermore, BESS displays a lower Required Average Discharge Price—RADP (USD 0.38/kWh) and Required Average Price Spread—RAPS (USD 0.18/kWh) compared to DG (RADP: USD 0.39/kWh; RAPS: USD 0.22/kWh) and the electrical grid (RADP: USD 0.71/kWh; RAPS: USD 0.38/kWh). During periods of high-energy tariffs, BESS provides significant environmental benefits, but it also offers a more economically advantageous option to meet the load. What can man do in his environment to reduce the harmful impact of contamination on the environment, and thus the immediate effect on groundwater? Agricultural production is an ongoing source of groundwater contamination due to the increasingly frequent use of nitrates in fertilizers, which are washed out from the soil into groundwater due to precipitation. This paper investigates three wellfields in the north of the Republic of Croatia near the town of Varaždin. With the application of the RAPS method, the dependence of nitrate concentration in groundwater on the amount of precipitation was established. The analysis results show the connection of the observed parameters, especially in the upper aquifer layer. In this layer, the coefficients of correlation are greater than 0.80 at all locations, which shows a strong positive connection between the parameters. In the lower aquifer, the values of the coefficients of correlation are lower, and the results mostly indicate a weak correlation. The obtained results will serve as a starting point for future studies, which will aim to precisely determine the factors that influence groundwater quality in the observed area.

The paper investigates streamflow trends in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH). Long-term (1961–2020) average annual and monthly streamflow trends were elicited on the basis of data from seven hydrological stations which are positioned on most of the largest rivers in BH. Trend disclosure was conducted by utilizing the Mann–Kendall (MK) test, the modified MK (mMK) test, and the Sen's slope estimator (SSE). The decreasing trend in annual streamflows is present across all studied rivers in BH in the range from − 0.07 to − 0.84 m3/s/year. Significant negative tendencies in summer months (June, July, and August) streamflows were determined at almost all stations. July is the month in which significant negative trends were recorded at six out of seven stations (− 0.11 to − 0.66 m3/s/year). The insignificant negative tendency was, in general, present throughout the year, whereas negligibly positive trends were present during March and October at a couple of stations. The Rescaled Adjusted Partial Sums (RAPS) analysis revealed that 1981/1982 was the year when most hydrological stations started exhibiting negative streamflow tendencies. Our results point out that the water resources of BH require sustainable management and that this is one of the essential tasks for decision-makers at both the state and local levels Also, this study represents the starting point for further research in water resources, given that so far this is the first and most comprehensive long-term analysis of average streamflows at the national level of BH. Background: Appropriate triage is an important component of patient management in emergency departments. The risk scoring system used for triage purposes in emergency departments should be obtained quickly and based on parameters directly related to prognosis. Aims: To investigate the success of the Rapid Emergency Medicine Score (REMS) and Rapid Acute Physiology Score (RAPS) as triage scoring systems and the Mortality Probability Model (MPM II0) as an intensive care scoring system in identifying critical patients visited to the emergency department (ED) triage and predicting mortality, and to evaluate their superiority over each other, if any. Methods: This research was planned as a single-center and prospectively. The data of the study were obtained by screening the medical records of all patients who presented to the ED triage between January 1, 2020 and January 31, 2020. Patients under the age of 18 years, those with missing information in their files and pregnant women were not included in the study. Only the patients for whom the REMS, RAPS, and MPM II0 scores could be calculated were included in the sample. Results: After excluding the patients who did not meet the inclusion criteria, the study was completed with 12,210 patients. The mean age of these patients was 44.7 ± 18.7 years, and 47.3% were male. The area under the receiver operating characteristics curve values for the prediction of 24-h, 30-day, 90-day, and 180-day mortality were determined as 0.979, 0.921, 0.904, and 0.897, respectively, for REMS; 0.929, 0.778, 0.75, and 0.725, respectively, for RAPS; and 0.925, 0.888, 0.866, and 0.861, respectively, for MPM II0. Conclusions: In this study, it was concluded that the REMS score was superior to the MPM II0 and RAPS scores in predicting the short-term and long-term mortality status of patients and determining the discharge and hospitalization status of the patients. Forecasting upstream flow amount based on downstream flow values is a new way of managing flood risk. This kind of prediction of the flow, size, and intensity of rivers in the alluvial aquifers is, in most cases, a challenging task due to climate change, as well as anthropogenic impacts on river flows. The presented methodology allows for organizing and preparing measures for flood protection, the operational work of hydropower plants, and many other usages. The methodology consists of correlation, cross-correlation, and a rescaled adjusted partial sums (RAPS) method. Although all methods are known, they have not been used in a methodology like the one presented. Research is conducted on a real case study of the river Bednja, on five consecutive hydrological measurement stations in the northwestern part of Croatia, for an available time series of the average daily flows from 2007–2018. High correlations were observed between the five stations along the Bednja River, with values of the correlation coefficient between 0.85 and 0.97 for the average daily flows, and between 0.88 and 0.99 for the RAPS values. The presented analysis gives information about similarities and connections between all five hydrological stations, which is significant and can be used to predict flow intensity. Section III studies the performanceof the binary RAPS approach for vehicle state estimation. Background/aim: In low-income or underdeveloped countries with conflict and internal unrest, healthcare facilities and staff are limited. For these reasons, it is necessary to use the most straightforward scoring systems to ensure that health facilities and staff are used effectively and to expedite processes through early and effective interventions for patients. In this study, we evaluate and compare the scoring systems used to predict patient prognosis for Emergency Department (ED) patients in northern Syria, which is an area marred by conflict and internal unrest. Materials and methods: In this study, patients hospitalized in the Afrin, Azez Vatan, Jarablus, Tel Abyad, Rasulayn, El Bab, and Çobanbey hospitals in northern Syria were investigated. Only patients that were hospitalized in the emergency departments of these hospitals, including wards and intensive care units, were included in the study. Patients that were hospitalized from 03/01/2021 to 08/31/2021, the study period, were prospectively analyzed. Vital signs, medical histories and demographic data of the patients were recorded by calculating National Early Warning Score 2 (NEWS2), Rapid Acute Physiology Score (RAPS), Rapid Emergency Medicine Score (REMS), and HOTEL Score (hypotension, oxygen saturation, low temperature, electrocardiogram, loss of independence). Acceptance parameters and scores were analyzed using statistical methods and by comparing groups. Results: All four scoring systems were found to be effective in predicting mortality regarding ROC curve analysis. However, the statistical significance of the RAPS was slightly stronger than that of the other scores and REMS had the highest sensitivity and specificity amongst the four systems, at 86.2% and 84.1%, respectively. Regarding the risk of hospitalization in the ICU (p < 0.05), the sensitivity values of the cut-off values offered by the scoring systems remained below 0.70 regarding ROC curve analysis. RAPS had the highest sensitivity (65.2%) of the four systems with a cut-off value of 1.5. Conclusion: This study in northern Syria has shown that although RAPS had stronger statistical power, REMS had better sensitivity and specificity for the prediction of mortality. Additionally, RAPS had better sensitivity for ICU risk. This study will contribute to the evaluation of healthcare in similar regions and to cost-effective healthcare delivery by using scoring systems for ED patients’ admission. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Concerning the media's properties, there is always a possibility of changing groundwater flow conditions surrounding hydroelectric power plants. Causes for such events could be natural or anthropogenic, which is, in many cases, not so obvious to determine. In addition, determining a period when changes in the groundwater flow occur is a complex task. All of the above mentioned are of crucial importance due to the operational work of hydropower plants, i.e., the optimization of the inflow and outflow of the water in the turbine, regardless of the hydropower plant type. All types listed require a particular approach for solving such issues. Rescaled Adjusted Partial Sums (RAPS) is an appropriate time-series analysis method. In this specific case, observed fluctuations in the time series of the groundwater levels could lead to conclusions about possible irregularities in the shallow as well as the deep zones of the underground water. The concept was shown in this paper in the example of the hydroelectric power plant Mostar dam in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It should be noted that the defined methodology was a novel procedure for analyzing and determining the pathways of the flow of groundwater in the surrounding hydropower plant dams. Current practice around, and challenges facing, energy provision in Australia's Northern Territory (NT) remote communities are discussed: hydrogen energy is introduced as a solution to alleviate the challenges therein. Options for hydrogen supply in NT remote areas are economically evaluated and their feasibility is discussed. While current capital expenditure limits pose the main barrier to hydrogen supply in remote areas of the NT, it was found promising in terms of environmental effects, long-term economic return, reliability of energy supply, and community empowerment. This action research study aims to show how chants, raps and songs can enhance language memorisation in an English as a Foreign Language classroom and what contributes to it. During my second practicum period I collected data through questionnaires, worksheets, observation grids, a learning journal and students’ interviews. These tools helped me understand what is behind chants, raps and songs when teaching a foreign language. I learned that my students loved rhythm, rhymes, repetition, gestures, imitation, body language, intonation and that all of these combined were a booster to language memorisation. There was language appropriation and children were able to recall chants, raps and songs taught in the class through repetition, gestures and rhythm. These contributed to “maximise language pronunciation, intonation, ear training…” (Brewster, Ellis & Gerard, 2002, p.164). They have beats that contribute to language learning through the repetition of chunks, enhancing memory ability.

The purpose of our research is to assess the potential and conditions for the development of health tourism based on the therapeutic mud of salt lakes of West Kazakhstan. Using classical methods of hydrological and hydrogeological research, the certification of mineral waters and therapeutic mud (raps and peloids) of the lakes Inder, Aralsor, Alzhansor, Hakisor, Sorkol, Bolshoy Sor, was carried out and the qualitative components of the raps and mud of these lakes were investigated. The analysis of the obtained data showed that a strongly sulphide salinized class of mud prevails in the two lakes studied: the Inder and the Alzhansor (Elton type). The Aralsor and Lake Hakisor are characterized by a sulphide weakly alkaline class (Karachi type). The mud of salty Lake Sorkol (Medvezhinsky type) and the Bolshoy Sor (Cheder type) belongs to the class of weakly sulphide. The expediency of sanatorium-resort and medical-health tourist use of studied salt lakes has been revealed.

Nutzarthropoden und deren Förderung sind Teil des Konzeptes des integrierten Pflanzenschutzes. Sie sind von einer Vielzahl pflanzenbaulicher Verfahren betroffen, auch von denen, die eine vorbeugende Wirkung gegenüber Schadorganismen haben. Die Möglichkeiten der Förderung von Arthropoden in Fruchtfolgen, durch Zwischen­früchte und Untersaaten, Bodenbearbeitungsverfahren, Stickstoffdüngung, Aussaatzeitpunkte sowie Aussaatdichten in den Hauptkulturen des Ackerbaus (Getreide, Winterraps und Mais), wurden anhand einer Literaturrecherche untersucht. Das Vorhandensein von struktureller Diversität auf der Bodenoberfläche sowie eine kleinräumige Verteilung der Anbauflächen und die Störungsintensität durch die Bodenbearbeitung sind wichtige Elemente für die Förderung von Nutzarthropoden. Je höher die Strukturvielfalt auf dem Feld durch Ernterückstände oder Mulch, desto mehr Lebensräume entstehen. Eine kleinräumige Verteilung der Fruchtfolge in der Landschaft ermöglicht es Arthropoden bei Störungen auf benachbarte Flächen auszuweichen. Eine wich­tige Ergänzung bilden nützlingsfördernde Maßnahmen. Damit Arthropodengesellschaften in der Agrarlandschaft überleben und die Ökosystemleistung von Nutzarthropoden auch abgerufen werden können, müssen die Bedingungen auf dem Feld entsprechend angepasst werden.

Beneficial arthropods and their promotion are part of the concept of integrated pest management (IPM). Numerous agricultural practices effect beneficial arthropods, also those which are applied as preventive plant protection measures. In a literature review we searched for effects of measures, such as crop rotation, cover crops and under sowing, soil cultivation, Nitrogen fertilization, adapted sowing dates and crop densities on the promotion of arthropods or their conservation. Structural diversity as well as the intensity of disturbance by soil cultivation are important elements for the enhancement of beneficial arthropods. Increased structural diversity through management provide hiding places and habitats for arthropods. A small-scale diversified crop rotation in the landscape allows arthropods to migrate to adjacent fields in case of disturbance by cultural measures. The aim of this study was to assessment of the impact of EU climate and energy policy changes on the biofuelssector, with particular emphasis on the impact of these changes on rape production prospects. The researchwas carried out on the basis of the reports of the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Agriculture and RuralDevelopment, the Energy Regulatory Office, National Support Centre for Agriculture, the Central StatisticalOffice of Poland, the EU Commission. Tabular and descriptive methods were used. Analyzes covered the years2005-2017 with perspective until 2030. As a result of these changes, the rapeseed area may be limited. Theresearch shows that lowering the NCW implementation by 1% will result in a reduction of the rapeseed areaby 42.28 thousand. ha. In 2030, the area occupied for the cultivation of this plant may be smaller by 14.3%compared to 2021.

Currently, most communal utility management companies continually and automatically follow the changing trends in the drinking and wastewater quality (DWWQ) within their area of activity. Different control systems and applications are used for this purpose. Efficient monitoring of DWWQ should also include the analysis of water-quality parameters, such as the range of changes and trends. The method of Rescaled Adjusted Partial Sums (RAPS) is very suitable for the visualization and determination of the readily apparent features, which may be hidden from the common time-series plots of values. This paper presents different approaches for the tracking and analysis of the DWWQ parameters using a combination of the open-source spatial database, PostgreSQL, and the open-source GIS software. The proposed approach has not yet been used in the management of communal utilities. The main advantages of this modern system are the use of opensource programs and the high efficiency of water-quality monitoring with large datasets. The purpose of our research is to assess the potential and conditions for the development of health tourism based on the therapeutic mud of salt lakes of West Kazakhstan. Using classical methods of hydrological and hydrogeological research, the certification of mineral waters and therapeutic mud (raps and peloids) of the lakes Inder, Aralsor, Alzhansor, Hakisor, Sorkol, Bolshoy Sor, was carried out and the qualitative components of the raps and mud of these lakes were investigated. The analysis of the obtained data showed that a strongly sulphide salinized class of mud prevails in the two lakes studied: the Inder and the Alzhansor (Elton type). The Aralsor and Lake Hakisor are characterized by a sulphide weakly alkaline class (Karachi type). The mud of salty Lake Sorkol (Medvezhinsky type) and the Bolshoy Sor (Cheder type) belongs to the class of weakly sulphide. The expediency of sanatorium-resort and medical-health tourist use of studied salt lakes has been revealed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

O presente artigo propõe pensar o trabalho das Redes de Atenção Psicossocial a partir da perspectiva de Baruch de Espinosa e de Fernand Deligny. A proposta é mostrar o quanto a questão do aprendizado dos afetos, apresentado por Spinoza é determinante em um trabalho comum entre profissionais de saúde e usuários da Rede. Os profissionais de saúde, ao aprenderem a respeito da capacidade de pensar e agir dos usuários, descobrem do que eles próprios são capazes. A rede se constitui através da conexão entre diferentes serviços de saúde e entre profissionais de diferentes áreas. Trata-se da construção de uma maneira de agir e viver junto, o que diz respeito a uma ideia de rede que vamos encontrar na obra de Fernand Deligny.

O presente artigo apresenta a experiência de implantação de novos dispositivos ligados a Rede de Atenção Psicossocial, voltados principalmente ao usuário de drogas na cidade de Vitória-ES. A partir do paradigma de Reforma Psiquiátrica Brasileira, reconhece-se que nos anos mais recentes, os agravos de saúde referentes ao uso abusivo de álcool e outras drogas passaram a ganhar destaque. O Ministério da Saúde passou a financiar através do SUS, projetos tais como de Consultórios Móveis de Rua, Casas de Acolhimento Transitório, o que propiciou o surgimento de experiências de diversificação de dispositivos assistenciais para além dos CAPS AD. Tais mudanças resultam de uma disputa pelo modelo de atenção em saúde mental no país em que está em jogo afirmar práticas a favor da vida, em que o outro, moribundo ou não, seja acolhido em suas dores visíveis e invisíveis.

Seawater level changes are affected by natural and anthropogenic impacts. While climate changes are considered to be a cause for all significant recent variations in meteorological and hydrological parameters, there is still a need for the analysis at the smaller regional scale, especially of the seawater level changes. A regional analysis is essential for early warning of upcoming changes that could, firstly, affect islands and coastal areas and, subsequently, expand on larger areas. The determined regional changes could affect the salinity of drinking water sources, increase the presence of natural flooding, and impact land degradation. In this paper, an analysis of local seawater level fluctuations is provided for three available locations in Croatia distributed along the Adriatic Sea’s coast. The rescaled adjusted partial sums (RAPS) method was used and applied on time series of the average daily seawater levels for each location. Visual interpretation of the RAPS method indicated the appearance of common regularities of the observed quantities, in this case, averaged daily seawater level changes. Also, it was shown that the regional shape and indentation of the coast did not have a strong effect on the seawater level’s rise. Seasonal changes in the sea level are mostly periodic and, therefore, have symmetry visible in its behavior. Fluctuations in the dynamics of sea level studied in this paper were not regular and predictable with simple linear equations, but the symmetry was also found to be present in the irregularities identified with the RAPS method.

Water is an important factor in human health and an essential ingredient of living organisms. The increase in population and living standards has led to increased water consumption, consequently causing an increase in wastewater, as well as greater quality impairment. Wastewater treatment of the public mixed drainage system of the city of Čakovec (Croatia) and surrounding suburban settlements is carried out by mechanical and biological procedures, with the final treatment of separated sludge. In this paper, we analyzed the input and output values of annual time series for chemical oxygen demand (COD) on the wastewater treatment plant in 2015 using the RAPS method (Rescaled Adjusted Partial Sums). The results showed that the input series contained more pronounced subseries with respect to their mean values and trends of increase and decrease, respectively. When comparing the input and output subseries, the output subseries does not oscillate to a large extent given that they express the output quality of wastewater. A significant reduction in the output values of the indicators determines the quality treatment of incoming wastewater.

Aim: To compare the ability of the most used Early Warning Scores (EWS) to identify adult patients at risk of poor outcomes in the emergency department (ED)., Methods: Single-center, retrospective observational study. We evaluated the digital records of consecutive ED admissions in patients ≥ 18 years from 2010 to 2019 and calculated NEWS, NEWS2, MEWS, RAPS, REMS, and SEWS based on parameters measured on ED arrival. We assessed the discrimination and calibration performance of each EWS in predicting death/ICU admission within 24 hours using ROC analysis and visual calibration. We also measured the relative weight of clinical and physiological derangements that identified patients missed by EWS risk stratification using neural network analysis., Results: Among 225,369 patients assessed in the ED during the study period, 1941 (0.9%) were admitted to ICU or died within 24 hours. NEWS was the most accurate predictor (area under the receiver operating characteristic [AUROC] curve 0.904 [95% CI 0.805-0.913]), followed by NEWS2 (AUROC 0.901). NEWS was also well calibrated. In patients judged at low risk (NEWS < 2), 359 events occurred (18.5% of the total). Neural network analysis revealed that age, systolic BP, and temperature had the highest relative weight for these NEWS-unpredicted events., Conclusions: NEWS is the most accurate EWS for predicting the risk of death/ICU admission within 24 h from ED arrival. The score also had a fair calibration with few events occurring in patients classified at low risk.
