Abstract

The article offers information on substance misuse in older people, commonly known as drug misuse, given by professor Ilana Crome and physician Tony Rao. It informs that alcohol and prescription drugs are the two most commonly misused substances in older people as the highest alcohol-related deaths in Great Britain are in the people aged between 55 and 74 years. It also informs that pharmacological treatment for substance misuse should be monitored regularly in older people.
