However, there is limited research on the predisposition to MHR and prediabetes. Hence, we conducted a study to investigate the relationship between MHR and the prevalence of prediabetes.Methods: In total, 85,293 participants were included in our cross-sectional observational study. Multivariable regression analysis, subgroup analyses, and interaction testing were used to determine the relationship between MHR and prediabetes. To explore the non-linear association of MHR with prediabetes risk, generalized additive model (GAM) and smoothing splines were applied. The threshold effect analysis of MHR on the risk of prediabetes was further employed to identify the turning point.Results: After controlling for covariates, the results indicated that a positive correlation persisted between MHR and prediabetes (odds ratio (OR) =1.64, 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.48– 1.82), and subgroup analyses found a more robust correlation between MHR and prediabetes in individuals with lower age, SBP, DBP, TG, TC and higher values of BMI and LDL-C than in their counterparts. Additionally, the correlation between MHR and the risk of prediabetes was found to be non-linear, with a turning point of − 0.4 (Log-Likelihood Ratio, P< 0.001). The impact of variables on the two sides of the turning point were 1.94 (1.72, 2.19) and 0.88 (0.69, 1.14).Conclusion: The positive correlation between MHR and the risk of prediabetes in Chinese participants was observed to be non-linear, and MHR ≤ − 0.4 was strongly positively correlated with prediabetes risk. The primary endpoint was the occurrence of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), which included recurrent ACS or unplanned revascularization, all-cause death, or ischemic stroke during a 27-month follow-up period.Results: Patients with ESC-defined high-risk showed a significantly higher risk of MACE (HR 2.75, 95% CI 1.78– 4.25), all-cause death (HR 2.49, 95% CI 1.14– 5.43), and recurrent ACS or unplanned revascularization (HR 2.80, 95% CI 1.57– 4.99) than those with ESC-defined low/medium-risk during follow-up. The results of landmark analysis showed that patients in the high-risk group had a significantly higher risk of MACE (HR 2.80,95 CI% 1.57– 4.97), recurrent ACS or unplanned revascularization (HR 3.19,95 CI% 1.47– 6.93) within one year, and a higher risk of MACE (HR 2.69,95 CI% 1.38– 5.23) after one year. There was no significant difference in the incidence of MACE between patients with a DAPT score ≥ 2 and a DAPT score < 2. The C-indices of ESC criteria and DAPT score for prediction of MACE were 0.63 (95% CI 0.57– 0.70) and 0.54 (95% CI 0.48– 0.61), respectively. The predictive value of ESC criteria for MACE was better than the DAPT score according to the DeLong test (z-statistic=2.30, P=0.020).Conclusion: Patients with ESC-defined high-risk had a higher risk of MACE compared to those with ESC-defined low/medium-risk. The discriminant ability of the ESC criteria was better than the DAPT score for MACE. As a result, in order to compete in today’s global economy, businesses are contemplating incorporating behavioural components of human psychology into their decision-making processes. Corporations are masters of quantitative analysis, but they rarely pay attention to behavioural elements of organizational success. Emotional intelligence is important in many parts of life; therefore, it is crucial to look at its dimensions when it comes to corporate financial decision-making.Methods: A simple random sampling technique was used to collect data from 200 senior-level managers from the corporate sector located in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad of Pakistan. SPSS version 22 was used to test the hypotheses.Results: Results of the study show the gender-based variation in corporate financial decision-making detailing the higher impact of EI of males on CFD than their counterparts in the corporate sector organizations. The elements of self-awareness, empathy, motivation and self-regulation affect the financial decision-making of both the genders with varying degrees of influence, whereas social skills do not affect CFD of both genders.Conclusion: The study findings explicate that the influence of self-awareness and empathy constructs of EI on corporate financial decisions is stronger in female managers than their male counterparts. However, male managers exhibit a significantly stronger influence of motivation, social skills, and self-regulation dimensions on their financial decisions compared to female managers in a corporate setting. Overall, the impact of EI on CFD is slightly higher in male managers. These empirical outcomes imply that organizations should assess the employees not only for technical skills but also based on their emotional intelligence during the recruitment process.Keywords: emotional intelligence, self-awareness, self-regulation, social skill, empathy, motivation, corporate financial decision, recruitment process, training and development

This study assessed the regional differences of PM2.5 (fine particulate matter) concentration and secondary components in China. Through chemical analysis (Thermal/Optical Carbon Analyzer and ion chromatography) and statistical tools (SPSS and Origin software), PM2.5 samples' concentration and main components were estimated and compared in Tianjin and Guangzhou in December 2016. The average PM2.5 mass concentration was 148 μg/m3 in Tianjin and 62 μg/m3 in Guangzhou, indicating heavy air pollution in both cities. Organic carbon constituted 15% of PM2.5 in Tianjin, while that accounted for 25% in Guangzhou. The concentration of the secondary organic carbon accounted for 40% and 33% of organic carbon in Tianjin and Guangzhou, respectively. The ionic components in Tianjin made up 49% of PM2.5, while those of Guangzhou were responsible for 36% locally. The sulfate oxidation ratio reached 0.41 in Tianjin and 0.53 in Guangzhou while the nitrate oxidation ratio was 0.23 and 0.14 in the two cities, respectively. These results indicated high secondary conversion rate in PM2.5 pollution in both cities and suggested that PM2.5 mass concentration could not fully reflect its environmental and health effects, and so more attentions should be paid to the effects of its components, especially secondary components. In addition, the results could provide a scientific basis for making policies concerning air pollution control and developing strategies of air quality improvement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
