Abstract Objectives Bovine seminal plasma proteins perform several functions related to sperm function. Changes in the expression pattern or abundance of seminal proteins are related to changes in the fertilizing capacity of bulls. Considering the role of seminal plasma proteins in sperm function and animal reproduction, we investigated changes in the protein abundance profile in response to sperm morphological changes using a proteomic approach. Datadescription In our present investigation, we employed liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry to elucidate the proteomic composition of seminal plasma obtained from Nellore bulls exhibiting varying percentages of sperm abnormalities. Following semen collection, seminal plasma was promptly isolated from sperm, and proteins were subsequently precipitated, enzymatically digested using porcine trypsin, and subjected to analysis utilizing the Acquity nano UHPLC System in conjunction with a mass spectrometer. This dataset encompasses a total of 297 proteins, marking the inaugural instance in which a comparative profile of seminal plasma proteins in young Nellore bulls, categorized by their sperm abnormality percentages, has been delineated using LC-MS/MS. The comprehensive nature of this dataset contributes pivotal proteomic insights, representing a noteworthy advancement in our understanding of the reproductive biology of the Nellore breed.

The present study shows the development of computational algorithms to represent aircraft instruments such as the attitude indicator or the turn-and-slip indicator; moreover, the algorithms represent a magnetic compass and other instruments that function according to other physical theories. These instruments work by using the gyroscope and magnetic principles and help the pilot in navigation. These are considered to be the basic instruments required to provide location-related and positional information about the actual aircraft attitude. The algorithms developed in this study are capable of working in concordance with other instruments and the physical conditions established. The programming language used was C++ and the algorithms were compiled in independent files and subroutines for computational efficiency, eliminating unnecessary code. The display options were successfully tested. Additionally, an analysis that evaluated the error and approached flight simulation as a function of step time (Δt) is also described.

This study offers a comprehensive review of the impact of blockchain technology on healthcare, focusing on electronic medical records, electronic prescriptions, and the issue of medication errors. The implementation of blockchain guarantees the traceability and authenticity of medications, improving security in delivery to patients and preventing the introduction of fake products. The security and privacy of medical records and prescriptions using blockchain is highlighted, with examples such as VIDwallet highlighting the protection of patient privacy. To support these claims, the PRISMA methodology is adopted in an analysis of articles from various databases, such as Scopus, Web of Science Group, Plos One and ScienceDirect. Inclusion and exclusion criteria are applied, prioritizing review type documents and considering the distribution of publications by authors, subject areas and years. This rigorous methodological approach contributes to the reliability and validity of the results presented in the review.

This study aims to establish the validity and reliability of the prone Yo-YoIRL1 in elite female rugby league players (part one) and determine the anthropometric and physical characteristics contributing to 15m prone Yo-YoIRL1 performance (part two). Part one, 21 subjects completed one Yo-YoIRL1, one 20m and two 15m prone Yo-YoIRL1 tests over four sessions, with 7-14 days in-between. Part two, ten subjects completed a testing battery, including body mass, height, dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry, isometric mid-thigh pull, isometric bench-press, 10m and 20m sprints and an incremental treadmill test ([Formula: see text]). The 15m prone YoYoIRL1 demonstrated poor reliability with a typical error of 68m (21%) and a smallest worthwhile change of 54m (9%). Validity analysis found the prone versions of the YoYoIRL1 were not sensitive measures of intermittent running performance. Both prone YoYoIRL1 test distances demonstrated large mean bias (76% and -37% respectively) and typical error of the estimate (19% and 21%, respectively) in comparison to the YoYoIRL1. Body mass (r = -0.89), lean mass (r = -0.64), body fat % (r = -0.68), [Formula: see text] (l∙min-1) (r = -0.64), IMTP (r = -0.69), IBP (r = -0.15), 10m (r = -0.77) and 20m (r = -0.72) momentum displayed large negative relationships with 15m prone Yo-YoIRL1 performance. Due to the poor validity of the 20m prone YoYoIRL1, the poor validity and reliability of the 15m prone YoYoIRL1, and the anthropometric and physical characteristics which negatively impact performance, practitioners should reconsider the use of the prone YoYoIRL1 test to monitor high intensity intermittent running performance.

The aim of this study was to investigate the reliability and validity of an affordable wireless force sensor in measuring mean and peak forces during resistance training.A Suiff Pro wireless force sensor (Suiff, Spain) and a MuscleLab force platform (Ergotest, Norway) were used concurrently to assess tensile load and the ground reaction force resulting from an upright row exercise. Thirteen participants (28.2 ± 5.7 years, 76.2 ± 9.6 kg, 178.2 ± 9.2 cm) performed the exercise under three velocity conditions and isometrically. Each condition involved three sets of exercise. Mean (Fmean) and peak (Fpeak) force values from both sensors were collected and compared.Suiff Pro exhibited excellent reliability for Fmean and Fpeak (ICCs = 0.99). When compared to the criterion measures, Suiff Pro showed trivial standardized bias for Fmean (Mean = 0.00 [CI 95% = 0.00 to 0.01]) and Fpeak (-0.02 [-0.04 to 0.00]). The standardized typical error was also trivial for Fmean (0.03 [0.02 to 0.03]) and Fpeak (0.07 [0.05 to 0.09]). The method used was the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology to choose and select the relevant studies that contribute to this research, with special emphasis set on maintaining the integrity and security of the blockchain while tackling the potential and efficiency of cloud infrastructures. The study’s focus is to provide a comprehensive and insightful examination of the modern landscape concerning the integration of blockchain and cloud advances, highlighting the current challenges and building a solid foundation for future development. Furthermore, it is very important to increase the integration of blockchain security with the dynamic potential of cloud computing while guaranteeing information integrity and security remain uncompromised. In conclusion, this paper serves as an important resource for analysts, specialists, and partners looking to delve into and develop the integration of blockchain and cloud innovations.

This manuscript describes the computational process to calculate an airplane path and display it in a 2D and 3D coordinate system on a computer screen. The airplane movement is calculated as a function of its dynamic’s conditions according to physical and logical theory. Here, the flight is divided into maneuvers and the aircraft conditions are defined as boundary conditions. Then the aircraft position is calculated using nested loops, which execute the calculation procedure at every step time (Δt). The calculation of the aircraft displacement is obtained as a function of the aircraft speed and heading angles. The simulator was created using the C++ programming language, and each part of the algorithm was compiled independently to reduce the source code, allow easy modification, and improve the programming efficiency. Aerial navigation involves very complex phenomena to be considered for an appropriate representation; moreover, in this manuscript, the influence of the mathematical approach to properly represent the aircraft flight is described in detail. The flight simulator was successfully tested by simulating some basic theoretical flights with different maneuvers, which include stationary position, running along the way, take off, and some movements in the airspace. The maximum aircraft speed tested was 120 km/h, the maximum maneuver time was 12 min, and the space for simulation was assumed to be without obstacles. Here, the geometrical description of path and speed is analyzed according to the symmetric and asymmetric results. Finally, an analysis was conducted to evaluate the approach of the numerical methods used; after that, it was possible to confirm that precision increased as the step time was reduced. According to this analysis, no more than 500 steps are required for a good approach in the calculation of the aircraft displacement.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the validity of a low-cost friction encoder against a criterion measure (strain gauge combined with a linear encoder) for assessing velocity, force and power in flywheel exercise devices. Ten young and physically active volunteers performed two sets of 14 maximal squats on a flywheel inertial device (YoYo Technology, Stockholm, Sweden) with five minutes rest between each set. Two different resistances were used (0.075 kg·m 2 for the first set; 0.025 kg·m 2 for the second). Mean velocity (V rep ), force (F rep ) and power (P rep ) for each repetition were assessed simultaneously via a friction encoder (Chronojump, Barcelona, Spain), and with a strain gauge combined with a linear encoder (MuscleLab 6000, Ergotest Technology, Porsgrunn, Norway). Results are displayed as (Mean [CI 90%]). Compared to criterion measures, mean bias for the practical measures of V rep , F rep and P rep were moderate (-0.95 [-0.99 to -0.92]), small (0.53 [0.50 to 0.56]) and moderate (-0.68 [-0.71 to -0.65]) respectively. The typical error of estimate (TEE) was small for all three parameters; V rep (0.23 [0.20 to 0.25]), F rep (0.20 [0.18 to 0.22]) and P rep (0.18 [0.16 to 0.20]). Correlations with MuscleLab were nearly perfect for all measures in all load configurations. Based on these findings, the friction encoder provides valid measures of velocity, force and power in flywheel exercise devices. However, as error did exist between measures, the same testing protocol should be used when assessing changes in these parameters over time, or when aiming to perform inter-individual comparisons.

Kanihua and quinoa are closely related Andean grains that are unconventional starch sources. Starch was extracted from two kanihua and three quinoa genotypes and their physicochemical properties (proximate analysis, scanning electron microscopy, distribution and particle size, X-ray diffraction, FTIR, solubility, swelling power, pasting and thermal properties) were investigated. Kanihua and quinoa grains presented spherical shapes and regular sizes (1.05 - 1.30 mm). The starch granules show asymmetric monomodal distribution for all cases. Meanwhile, Sauter diameter values in kanihua were smaller (0.961 µm) than quinoa (1.099 µm). Regarding structure, all samples showed Type A polymorphism and similar FTIR spectra behavior. In addition, amilose content was around 11-14% and 8-12% for varieties of kanihua and quinoa respectively. Starch solubilities were less than 13%, and kanihua starches had less swelling power than quinoa starches. However, the maximum swelling power values were reached around 70 °C. The variety and type of grain influenced pasting properties, with an inverse relationship between the breakdown and setback values for the evaluated starches. Analyzing the thermal properties, gelatinization enthalpy and retrogradation were similar for all starches. Even though the kanihua and quinoa starches present similar structural characteristics, the pasting properties and swelling power were different. The insight into the morphological, thermal, and pasting properties of native Chenopodium starches could be helpful in the preparation and development of new food formulations.

Context: Currently, a wide variety of cars use Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) to activate the security system by radio frequency. Problem: RKE systems have security vulnerabilities with attacks such as brute force, replay, spoofing, and replay. Objective: This study proposes a replay-type attack detection system using SDR and intelligent algorithms. Method: The present dataset was obtained from an RKES type Key-fob of a 2016 model vehicle taken with different antenna polarizations at different distances. There were used three test and configuration systems based on two neural network identification models. Results: The proposed designs with the different classification models were able to detect replay-type vulnerabilities. In the first system, retransmitted indicators were detected with a maximum identification percentage of 90.9% and original signs of 90.9%; for the second system, 100% of the retransmitted signals and 89% of the original ones were detected, and for the third system, detected 100% of the retransmitted signals and 89.09% of the first signs. Conclusion: The models used in the system's design showed an identification percentage of more than 87% in all cases, managing to detect and identify the replay-type attack on the vehicles. System 1 presented better results with the VGG 16 system than in system 2, within the VGG 16 and SVM models having identical identification percentages obtained and, in system 3, which has the characteristics of the previous two, attained better results with SVM. The reception of signals with SDR is an effective tool for detecting vulnerabilities in vehicle security systems.

The use of the orthogonal array L4 allows a determination of the effect between the welding parameters peak current (Ip), background current (Ib) and frequency (f) on the porosities in a dissimilar welded lap joint of CP800 and XPF1000 steel weldment by the gas metal arc welding process with the transfer pulsed mode. According to the results, modifications in the welding parameters affect the heat input during welding. A heat input higher than 0.30 KJ/mm generates up to 0.32% porosity in the weld metal, while a heat input lower than 0.25 KJ/mm generates up to 28% porosity in the weld metal. The variation in heat input generated by the process allowed the observation of the final microstructure of the welded joints and the effect of mechanical properties such as hardness because the results show values of hardness from 300 Hv to 400 Hv in the heat affected zone (HAZ).

The main objective of this project was to develop a remote monitoring solution using an open-source platform, the e-health platform V2.0, which served as the foundation for this solution due to its capability to integrate various tools and technologies. The project involved measurements from six sensors including "temperature, electrocardiogram, airflow, beats per minute, blood oxygen saturation", and focused on finding a method to implement these communications. WebSockets were identified as a suitable solution, facilitating the task of interconnection. Leveraging backend frameworks like Express and frontend frameworks like React allowed for a seamless integration of different components within the project. The integration of these frameworks enhanced project development efficiency and enabled an easy implementation of new functionalities. By utilizing the e-health platform V2.0 and leveraging WebSocket along with backend and frontend frameworks, this project successfully developed a remote monitoring solution for the seamless management of biosignals. The purpose of this study was to quantify the total energy expenditure (TEE) of international female rugby union players. Fifteen players were assessed over 14 days throughout an international multi-game tournament, which represented two consecutive one-match microcycles. Resting metabolic rate (RMR) and TEE were assessed by indirect calorimetry and doubly labelled water, respectively. Physical activity level (PAL) was estimated (TEE:RMR). Mean RMR, TEE, and PAL were 6.60 ± 0.93 MJ·day−1 (1578 ± 223 kcal·day−1), 13.51 ± 2.28 MJ·day−1 (3229 ± 545 kcal·day−1), and 2.0 ± 0.3 AU, respectively. There was no difference in TEE (13.74 ± 2.31 (3284 ± 554 kcal·day−1) vs. 13.92 ± 2.10 MJ·day−1 (3327 ± 502 kcal·day−1); p = 0.754), or PAL (2.06 ± 0.26 AU vs. 2.09 ± 0.23 AU; p = 0.735) across microcycles, despite substantial decreases in training load (total distance: −8088 m, collisions: −20 n, training duration: −252 min). After correcting for body composition, there was no difference in TEE (13.80 ± 1.74 (3298 ± 416 adj. kcal·day−1) vs. 13.16 ± 1.97 (3145 ± 471 adj. kcal·day−1) adj. MJ·day−1, p = 0.190), RMR (6.49 ± 0.81 (1551 ± 194 adj. kcal·day−1) vs. 6.73 ± 0.83 (1609 ± 198 adj. kcal·day−1) adj. MJ·day−1, p = 0.633) or PAL (2.15 ± 0.14 vs. 1.87 ± 0.26 AU, p = 0.090) between forwards and backs. For an injured participant (n = 1), TEE reduced by 1.7 MJ·day−1 (−401 kcal·day−1) from pre-injury. For participants with illness (n = 3), TEE was similar to pre-illness (+0.49 MJ·day−1 (+117 kcal·day−1)). The energy requirements of international female rugby players were consistent across one-match microcycles. Forwards and backs had similar adjusted energy requirements. Mezcal is an alcoholic beverage obtained by distilling musts and juices fermented by spontaneous or cultivated microorganisms, which are extracted from ripe stems of cooked Agaves and harvested in Mexico. Both raw material and production practices differ markedly between producing regions, locations, and even factories, resulting in a very distinctive set of products. The state of Oaxaca is the top producer worldwide of mezcal, and 35,000 families are involved in the production of this aromatic alcoholic beverage. Fermentation is the most important stage of mezcal production and is performed by different yeast and bacteria. In this study, the yeast strains were isolated from fermentation containers of four mezcal factories (palenques) in Oaxaca. Taxonomic determination was verified by ITS, and an analysis of the biotechnological process through personal interviews and principal component analysis was performed. Eighteen different isolates of eight different genera (Candida, Clavispora, Meyerozyma, Metarhizium, Pichia, Saccharomyces, Torulaspora, and Yarrowia) were identified. According to the biotechnological process analysis and principal component analysis, the artisanal palenques (palenques 1, 3, and 4) are more like each other than and differ radically from palenque 2, which is where the artisanal process has changed towards technical production.

The aim of this study was to identify between-position (forwards vs. backs) differences in movement variability in cumulative tackle events training during both attacking and defensive roles. Eleven elite adolescent male rugby league players volunteered to participate in this study (mean ± SD, age; 18.5 ± 0.5 years, height; 179.5 ± 5.0 cm, body mass; 88.3 ± 13.0 kg). Participants performed a drill encompassing four blocks of six tackling (i.e. tackling an opponent) and six tackled (i.e. being tackled by an opponent while carrying a ball) events (i.e. 48 total tackles) while wearing a micro-technological inertial measurement unit (WIMU, Realtrack Systems, Spain). The acceleration data were used to calculate sample entropy (SampEn) to analyse the movement variability during tackles performance. In tackling actions SampEn showed significant between-position differences in block 1 (p = 0.0001) and block 2 (p = 0.0003). Significant between-block differences were observed in backs (block 1 vs 3, p = 0,0021; and block 1 vs 4, p = 0,0001) but not in forwards. When being tackled, SampEn showed significant between-position differences in block 1 (p = 0.0007) and block 3 (p = 0.0118). Significant between-block differences were only observed for backs in block 1 vs 4 (p = 0,0025). Movement variability shows a progressive reduction with cumulative tackle events, especially in backs and when in the defensive role (tackling). Forwards present lower movement variability values in all blocks, particularly in the first block, both in the attacking and defensive role. Entropy measures can be used by practitioners as an alternative tool to analyse the temporal structure of variability of tackle actions and quantify the load of these actions according to playing position.
