Purpose: To use a large nationwide administrative database to directly compare usage, complications, and need for revision stabilization surgery after medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction (MPLFR), tibial tubercle osteotomy (TTO), and combined MPFLR and TTO (MPFLRTTO). Methods: The PearlDiver Mariner database was queried for all reported cases of MPLFR, TTO, and combined MPFLRTTO performed between 2010 and 2020 using Current Procedural Terminology codes. Subsets from those cohorts with laterality-specific International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, codes for patellar instability were used to evaluate 2-year incidence of infection, stiffness, fracture, and revision stabilization with MPFLR and/or TTO. Multiple linear regression and χ2 analysis were used to analyze incidence trends and to compare complication rates. Results: A total of 70,070 patients were identified. MPFLR was found to be the most common procedure (73.1%), followed by TTO (19.2%) and then MPFLRTTO (7.6%). MPLFR was observed to have the lowest overall complication rate (5.4%), whereas both TTO (7.5%) and MPFLRTTO (7.1%) had greater complication rates (P < .001). MPFLR had the greatest rate of revision stabilization surgery at 3.7% compared with TTO at 2.7% and MPFLRTTO, which carried the lowest risk for revision at 2.4% (P < .001). Conclusions: Isolated MPFLR is the most common modality used for patellar instability, with increasing prevalence and the lowest 2-year complication rate. Isolated TTO was unchanged in its use and had the greatest overall complication rate. Combined MPFLRTTO increased the overall complication rate but had a lower 2-year rate of recurrent instability requiring revision than MPFLR alone. The purpose of the study is to assess the impact of expenditure practices during festivities and various social ceremonies on the financial anxiety of the rural poor. Based on the study’s findings, a social work intervention was proposed to combat the financial anxiety arising due to the unregulated spending patterns of rural households. For the present study, we have deliberately adopted a descriptive research design; 640 structurally poor respondents were interviewed from rural Karnataka. The Households Financial Anxiety Assessment Scale developed by Archuleta, Dale, and Spann (2013) (FAS) was used to assess respondents’ financial anxiety. The study found that the spending patterns of poor rural households on festivities and social ceremonies lead them towards financial anxiety, financial vulnerability and continued poverty. We have attempted to draw the attention of professional social work educators to adopt the Financial Social Work model in the curriculum. We have proposed interventional strategies for Practitioners in Government and Non-Governmental organisations to practice in the field. The present study’s findings highlight the significant relationship between festivities and spending on social ceremonies and the consequent financial anxiety.

We report a one-pot synthesis method to synthesize Cu2O nanocubes (NCs) and octahedra (Oh) using mild reducing agents such as ascorbic acid (L-AA), and D-glucose, respectively. The shape-dependent nanostructures of Cu2O have been characterized using various spectroscopic and microscopic techniques exhibiting an average size of 450 and 650 nm for Cu2O NCs and Oh, respectively which is influenced by their size and presence of various facets. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns reveal the crystalline nature of Cu2O nanostructures. The synthesized Cu2O NCs and Oh were investigated for their catalytic potential in phenylacetylene homocoupling organic reaction. The aryl alkyne homocoupling reaction demonstrates excellent efficacy under optimized reaction conditions. This work highlights the potential of (111)-bound Cu2O Oh in achieving high organocatalytic activity for aryl alkyne homocoupling transformations. Furthermore, Cu2O Oh demonstrated efficacy in catalyzing a wide range of substituted aryl alkynes under optimized reaction conditions, underscoring the importance of facet engineering in nanocatalysts for organic coupling reactions. The study found that Cu2O Oh exhibited enhanced catalytic efficiency, achieving a yield of 95.6 %, which is significantly higher than the 54.3 % yield obtained with Cu2O NCs. This superior performance of Cu2O Oh is attributed to the high catalytic activity of the (111) facets.
