Digital transformation is performed through the integration of information technologies into all areas of a business. The changes are radical, comprehensive and as such, they affect workplaces as well. Many authors overemphasize the use of technologies and regard them as central to the digital workplace. On the other hand, the position of the authors who argue that the digital workplace should coordinate technologies, processes and people is more correct. Theoretical research often does not clearly define the term digital workplace. Furthermore, the studies often overemphasize only the benefits while omitting the challenges presented by the digital workplace implementation. Therefore, the paper presents the requirements for a workplace to be considered digital, its advantages and challenges, and it shows how to balance the positive and negative repercussions of workplace digitalization.

This paper presents the results of a research which involved analysis of spreadsheets collected from 40 Serbian SMEs. Based on related research, the collected spreadsheets were analysed for presence of errors and assessed in terms of quality criteria, defined in line with the literature review. The final results are consistent with related research and point to various aspects of spreadsheet use that should be improved by the respondents for the purpose of reducing risk associated with development and use of spreadsheets.

Presenting a part of the results of a broader research into the use of spreadsheet programs in micro, small and medium sized enterprises on the territory of the Republic of Serbia, the article examines the differ-ences in the manner and purpose of use of spreadsheet programs by respondents of various levels of knowledge and experience through creating clusters of rarely, moderately and frequently used functionalities of these programs. The research results have shown that greater experience, better awareness about the possibili-ties of spreadsheet programs, and being better versed in the use of spreadsheets do not necessary result in a more frequent use of functionalities that can significantly mitigate the risks of their use.

Parallel with the official IT infrastructure, which is developed, procured, and maintained by the IT sector, most organizations have the so-called Shadow IT coexisting with it. These are autonomous systems and processes developed or procured without the knowledge, approval and support of IT sector, developed by staff members who are not IT experts and who are employed in some of the company's business sectors. Such systems potentially disrupt the IT sector's intention and task to provide optimal support to business processes by continuous improvement of quality and productivity of the IT processes, but they can also be the source of innovation and guidelines how to improve the processes of using IT. After a brief insight into the forms and causes of emergence of Shadow IT, the article presents a chosen proposal of taxonomy of concepts used in this area, to secure unambiguity, precision and well-foundedness of the conceptual denotation in future research.

Development and proliferation of graphical user interface and interactive software environments significantly contributed to the already present trend of end-user application development, which enables endusers who are not IT professionals to build applications and adjust software products to their needs up to a certain extent. According to some estimates, one third of business data generated in 2014 originated from applications developed by end-users. This paper examines the reasons that stimulate end-user application development, lists its potential benefits and introduces a delineation between specific categories of end-users.

Volatile market and legislative conditions impose constant changes on business processes, also demanding a change in the requirements set before information systems. As a solution to a situation in which the existing information systems cannot reach an adequate level of quality to keep up with the changes set up before them, user developed applications emerge, which are often developed in spreadsheet programs. Without questioning the benefits and utility of user developed applications in spreadsheet programs, practical experience nevertheless testifies to the consequences of errors in the development. The aim of this article is to give specific examples which draw attention to the seriousness of this issue and the need to introduce a framework for building and using user developed applications in spreadsheet programs.

The article discusses the application and optimal adaptation of technological tools to support efficient operations and successful positioning companies and enterprises in the market competition. The strategy for superior execution of business processes implies technical support and integration of software solutions as well. Supply chain management is becoming increasingly significant in business, thus this article is concerned with analyzing and proposing one method for its implementation. Supply chain management is viewed through the implementation of ERP systems, since these systems can significantly improve the control over operations throughout the company or enterprise. Opting for open source, as a modern business paradigm, has its benefits, since the costs of open source software tools are much lower, and the software itself is reliable and efficient enough.

Motivated both by reports on devastating financial and reputation-related consequences of spreadsheet errors and the results of previous studies suggesting a significant lack of users' awareness of spreadsheet risks, this paper provides insight into factors that influence users' perception of risks associated with creating and using spreadsheets. The survey was conducted on a sample of 161 spreadsheet users, whose attitudes were analyzed in accordance with 17 attributes. Statistically significant differences were detected among groups with different levels of self-estimated proficiency in spreadsheets, groups of users that spend different amount of time working with spreadsheets during a typical workday, groups of users who attribute greater subjective significance to spreadsheets in the tasks they perform, as well as groups of users from different management levels. Results of the statistical analysis also suggest that the perception of risks associated with spreadsheets is influenced by existence of standards and rules for spreadsheet development and uses within an organization. Results of the research presented in this paper, which point to an alarmingly low rate of use of spreadsheet features useful for risk mitigation, as well as to a prevalent lack of standards and rules for development and use of spreadsheets among the surveyed organizations, may stimulate managers to introduce such initiatives. Shadow IT coexists with mandated information systems. Developed and applied by non IT domain experts, it is as a rule, but not exclusively, used for resolving non routine issues, for which mandated IS does not have appropriate functions. Shadow IT solutions are not supported or controlled by IT departments. The aim of the paper is to show to which extent shadow IT has been researched, as this area has not yet received the necessary attention from both academia and business. A systematic literature review was conducted in order to find the papers covering the topic of shadow IT. The following electronic databases were searched: Web of Science (Thomson Reuters), Scopus (Elsevier), and AIS Electronic Library (The Association for Information Systems (AIS)). More than half of the analysed papers are case studies in one or more organizations. The papers were published mostly in scientific conferences and in scientific journals. Based on the literature review, the reasons for shadow IT occurrence, the possibility of its management are presented. Given the literature review, the author proposes a project called "illuminating" shadow IT, which would comprise three phases.
