La investigación educativa basada en las artes (IEBA) incorpora nuevas metodologías para la investigación cualitativa y educativa que nos permiten superar las fronteras y ampliar el repertorio de los métodos más tradicionales. Las autoras combinan los fundamentos teóricos, con actividades y con su experiencia con la representación visual como el dibujo como acto de indagación, el acto de caminar con los participantes en la investigación, la fotografía en toda su variedad de formas, entre las que se incluyen todas las artes audiovisuales como el podcasting y los cómics. Además, nos aclaran, no consideran que se necesite ser un artista para dedicarse a la investigación educativa basada en las artes. El propósito principal de este libro es, a través de las artes, aportar a la investigación educativa nuevas formas de pensar sobre la investigación, que puedan arrojar luz sobre los retos de la educación y encontrar así alternativas que puedan ir más allá de las soluciones fáciles. Oral History and Qualitative Methodologies: Educational Research for Social Justice examines oral history methodological processes involved in the doing of oral history as well as the theoretical, historical, and knowledge implications of using oral history for social justice projects.
