Abstract

The paper presents a unique approach to addressing the conversion of power requirements for standalone photovoltaic (PV) systems through the development of a multiport multi-bus power converter with partial power processing (PPP) capability. The primary objective is to improve the overall performance and efficiency of the PV system by effectively integrating multiple energy sources and loads. Maximum PPP method is applied by connecting one of the primary converter ports in series between the input and output. The aim is to optimize the converter's performance and achieve maximum power conversion efficiency. The performance of the converter is studied for various solar intensities. The effects of duty ratio of the converter are examined, and the optimum modulation index to maintain AC output constant for different intensities is identified. The results are discussed in detail. Abstract

This paper presents Switched-Capacitor based Quadruple Boost 9-Level Inverter topology which possesses several advantages over conventional MLI types, SCMLI topologies. The self-voltage balancing capability of switched capacitors which reduces complexity in control is compared with existing SCMLI topology. The simulation study of the SCQB9LI topology is carried out. Switched capacitors are designed for selfvoltage balancing nature. The MLS-PWM strategy is employed for generating gate pulses. The performance of the chosen inverter topology is investigated for different modulation indices and its results are presented. A comparative study with conventional SCMLI topologies proves the effectiveness of SCQB9LI topology.

30. Power flow analysis of a grid connected PMSG based direct driven wind electric generator.

Abstract

This paper proposes a large scale wind energy conversion system comprising a direct driven PMSG connected to the grid through a power electronic interface. The variable voltage variable frequency output from the wind generator is rectified, boosted and converted in to a fixed voltage fixed frequency output. The boost chopper maintains a constant DC at the inverter terminals. The modulation index of the inverter is adjusted to extract maximum power from the wind. The system components such as wind turbine, PMSG, power electronic interface are modeled in MATLAB/SIMULINK. The performance of the system is investigated for different wind velocities. 31. Comparison of different PWM schemes for n-phase VSI.

Abstract

This paper presents the development of three different generalized PWM schemes for a n-phase voltage source inverter (VSI) in matlab/simulink. Multiphase (n-phase) voltage source inverters are dominantly used to supply the multi-phase drives which are used for high power applications. It is necessary to develop suitable switching schemes for the inverters to provide required output voltages to a multiphase machine.The schemes namely SPWM, PWM technique with mth harmonic injection and offset injection are discussed. The performances of the inverter with 5, 7 and 9 phases are analyzed with these switching techniques. The output voltage, THD and current ripple are observed through simulation.
