1. Twenty-five years of global research publications trends of novel coronavirus: A scientometrics assessment

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the trends and characteristics of the publication on the novel coronavirus. A total of 2661 publications from Scopus downloaded in the bib.text andCVSformat for 25 years to analyze by using scientometrics analysis software, namely Bibliometrix and Vosviewer. The results show that there is very little research conducted before 2002, but exponentially increased after 2003 and 2020 shows the highest number of publications (779). The result reveals that the 1806 publication is in the form of research articles, i.e., 68%. "University Of Hong Kong" has produced the highest publication, i.e., 362. The "Journal of Virology" (JIF = 4.324) has ranked1 interms of the number of total publications (173), total citation (9618), g index (90), and h index (57) respectively. "Yuen KY" found as the prolific author (75) and has more collaborative publication (62) as well. The author's keyword "coronavirus" considered the more reliable keyword. The most cited (TC = 2194) article is "A Novel Coronavirus Associated with Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome" by Ksiazek TG (2003). The study is beneficial for researchers who are currently doing or planning research on coronavirus.

Abstract

This paper aims to examine research practice and performance on the electronics resources in India during the year 2011 to 2020 on different parameters namely yearly research growth, relative growth rate and doubling time, forms of research, most prolific authors and Institutions, Collaborative country, degree of collaboration, and funding agency etc. The data of the current research paper about electronic resources indexed in the Scopus database have been retrieved. The records with topic search (includes Title, Abstract, Keywords and Keywords Plus) "Electronic resources" were extracted. MS Excel and VOS viewer have analyzed these data. The search result shows that a total of 1482 papers have indexed in the Scopus database during 2011-2020. The study reveals that numerous research papers have been published on electronic resources in India. 2019 is the leading (288 papers) producer of research papers," Library Philosophy and Practice" is the leading (64 papers) source of publications, Bhat, N.A, Jha, M.K and Thanuskodi, S are the prolific authors, the United States is the highest (78 Papers) collaborated country and degree of collaboration (DC) = 0.92, "Department of Science and Technology, Government of Kerala" is the highest (13 papers) funding agency for the topic electronic resources research in India. 3. Quality Assessment of Nuclear physics journals by comparing bibliometrics indicators.

Abstract

Purpose: The present study aimed to assess and review the quality of journals from the field of nuclear physics based on some selected high-quality bibliometrics indicators, namely Journal Impact Factor (JIF), Eigenfactor Score (ES), SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) and H5-index. Methodology: Nineteen (19) nuclear physics journals from the Web of science core collection and Scopus database have been retrieved and tabulated under each mentioned indicator as per the ranks and values for the analysis. The analysis has done by using IBM SPSS (21.0). Findings: Bivariate correlation coefficient have been considered, a high Pearson's (r) observed between JIF and SJR (r = 0.957) while the lowest observed between JIF and ES (r = 0.033). Spearman's rank correlation coefficient (ρ) found very high between JIF and SJR (ρ =0.963) and very low between JIF and ES (ρ = 0.281). Thus, JIF and SJR show a strong correlation with each other. Limitation: The journals considered for assessment only from the field of nuclear physics indexed in Web of science core collection, hence only 19 journals have found for the evaluation. Originality/Value: This study will be helpful for the researchers and academicians from nuclear physics, looking for highly cited quality journals to publish their scientific research paper, as well as for the librarians/information scientists looking for high-quality collection development.
