PURPOSE :- To assess how neural slump mobilization affects hamstring flexibility BACKGROUND :- Thirty adult individuals in good health with restricted right hamstring flexibility (minimum of 15 degrees less active knee extension assessed with femur held at 90 degrees of hip flexion) were divided into two groups at random. METHOD:- Subjects in Group A will engage in non-ballistic static stretching for 30 seconds, which will be followed by static stretching for 30 seconds after a 5-minute rest period for two weeks. Group-B: Over the course of two weeks, the subject will complete static stretches maintained for 30 seconds, repeated five times, with a 1-second break in between each stretch. STATICAL ANALYSIS :- To compare the mean value for pre-treatment and post-treatment ROM across groups as well as the comparison of the mean values for pre-treatment and post-treatment ROM within the group, independent sample t-test and paired t-test were employed, respectively. A value of p was chosen.05 RESULT:- According to a within-group analysis, group A's mean range of motion was larger after therapy than it was before treatment (53.83 2.43), and this difference was determined to be statistically significant (p=0.00). The difference between the mean post-treatment range of motion value for group B (51.44 2.63) and the mean pre-treatment range of motion value (38.49 3.26) was determined to be statistically significant (p=0.00). The results of the between-group analysis showed that group A's mean post-treatment range of motion value was greater than group B's (53.83 2.43 vs. 51.44 2.63), and this difference was judged to be statistically significant (p=0.016). CONCLUSION :- The results of the current study showed that static stretching combined with the neural slump posture improved hamstring flexibility in adults more than static stretching alone, resulting in changes in the accuracy of the active knee extension measurement. Background: The COVID-19 pandemic is having worldwide impact including mental and physical health. The objective of this study is to evaluate the mental health and musculoskeletal pain in postrecovered patients. Methods: A 4-week exercise program including warm-up exercises, strengthening exercises, relaxation exercises, deep breathing exercises, and cool down exercises was designed for this interventional study. A total of 100 corona-recovered patients were selected from the physiotherapy department of the hospital. All the patients were instructed to come to the department for postassessment and then the data were analyzed. Results: The significant results were seen in the following variables on the basis of comparison between week 1 and week 4: Visual Analog Scale score (week 1: 2.11 ± 1.77 and week 4: 0.79 ± 1.21), modified Borg Dyspnea Scale (week 1: 2.07 ± 1.65 and week 4: 0.79 ± 1.21), Warwick–Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale (week 1: 42.5 ± 4.6 and week 4: 59.4 ± 6.7), and Cornell Musculoskeletal Discomfort Scale (week 1: 8.32 ± 6.1 and week 4: 1.68 ± 2.42). Introduction: Idiopathic adhesive capsulitis is characterised by gradual onset of pain in shoulder and its limited mobility of motion due to a thickened capsule with an unknown cause. The peak incidence rate is between the ages of 40 and 60 years with less chances of occurrence in the younger group and individuals, who engage in physical labour are far less likely to experience it. In order to determine whether the kinetic chain approach is more effective, researchers tested it on individuals with adhesive capsulitis. Aim: To assess effectiveness of the kinetic chain approach for treating primary adhesive capsulitis. Materials and Methods: This pre and postexperimental study was conducted at the Department of Physiotherapy, Santosh Medical College and Hospital, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India, for a period of one year from January 2020 to December 2020. A total of 60 patients with primary adhesive capsulitis were included in the trial and were divided into Group-A and Group-B using a systematic random sampling process. Group A received traditional physiotherapy in addition to the Kinetic chain technique. In Group B, regular physiotherapy was the only treatment provided to patients. The Range of Motion (ROM), Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI) were measured in both groups pre, mid and posttreatment groups. Non parametric statistical techniques were used to analyse the data owing its originality. Results: A total of 30 patients in each Group (A and B) were provided with Kinetic chain approach (mean age=53.93 years) and conventional physiotherapy (mean age=55.40 years), respectively. For comparing data within the same group, Wilcoxon signed-ranks test was used for this. Mann Whitney U-test was used to compare the data between groups. The p-values for the VAS, SPADI, and ROM showed statistical significance at the 0.001 level. In terms of pain, functional impairment, and range of motion, with Group A showing greater strides than Group B. Conclusion: The combination of kinetic chain technique and traditional physiotherapy was more beneficial than either group when used singularly to reduce discomfort, increase the range of motion, and enhance functional capacity in adhesive capsulitis patients. Objective: To determine the frequency and associated factors of physical activity and sleep with depression in college going students. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted among students of various universities, colleges, and institutes of Delhi from April to July 2022. Students aged between 18-26 years, consisting of both males and females were included. Physical activity level was assessed by the International Physical Activity Questionnaire- Short Form (IPAQ-SF), depression level was assessed by the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression (CES-D) survey, and sleep quality was measured by the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Results: Of 120 participants, there were 48 (40.0%) males and 72 (60.0%) females. Most of the students had moderate/high physical activity 88 (73.3%), 63 (52.5%) had no symptoms of depression and 70 (58.3%) had no difficulty in sleep. A significant association of physical activity was found with gender (p-value 0.036), smoking (pvalue 0.022), alcohol (p-value 0.033), pocket money (p-value 0.033), and depression (p-value 0.007). Sleep dysfunction was found higher in those students who had depression as compared to students who did not have depression i.e., 34 (59.6%) vs. 16 (25.4%) respectively (p-value <0.001). Conclusion: Most students demonstrated sufficient physical activity, no symptoms of depression and difficulty in sleep. However, significant associations of physical activity and sleep were seen with depression. Students with symptoms of depression had higher prevalence of sleep dysfunction. The causal connections between levels of physical activity, sleep quality, and mental health require further research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Context: The use of a pelvic inclinometer in medical practice to evaluate pelvic inclination angle is speedy, noninvasive, and easy to use. There is currently no goniometer available for objective measurement of innominate bone inclination in standing. In clinical assessment, it is necessary to employ portable, reliable, low-cost, and safe measurement apparatus for the measurement of pelvic inclination. Aims: To assess the inter- and intra-tester reliability of a tripod-mounted pelvic inclinometer and a hand-held inclinometer with smartphone application for measuring the angle of pelvic inclination in the sagittal plane. Study Setting and Design: Design of assessing and measuring reliability of pelvic inclinometer in India. Materials and Methods: A total of 160 individuals aged between 18 and 30 years volunteered to participate in the study. Pelvic inclination angle was measured on both sides using two newly developed pelvic inclinometers in the sagittal plane. One was tripod-mounted wooden arm inclinometer and the other was hand-held inclinometer with smartphone software application. Reliability was assessed for the tripod-mounted pelvic inclinometer apparatus that is based on the idea of measuring pelvic tilts with caliper. Further, reliability was also assessed for hand-held pelvic inclinometer with software application in a mobile cell device. Statistical Analysis Used: Cronbach's alpha (C-alpha) and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) were used to test reliability. Results: The intratester reliability of the tripod-mounted wooden arm inclinometer on both left (C-alpha - 0.98; ICC - 0.94) and right sides (C alpha - 0.97; ICC - 0.93) was high. Similar findings were noted with the hand-held inclinometer with smartphone software application, with intrarater reliability being high on both right (C-alpha - 0.98; ICC - 0.95) and left sides (C-alpha - 0.98; ICC - 0.96). Conclusion: Both the newly designed pelvic inclinometers, i.e., tripod-mounted wooden arm inclinometer and hand-held inclinometer with smartphone software application, are reliable and consistent for measuring pelvic inclination in the sagittal plane.
