The proper or co-moving frame provides deeper insights into the relations between kinematical quantities and their rates of change. Using an orthonormal set of basis vectors in this proper frame, constructed from the tangential and orthogonal components of the velocity and acceleration, general relations are revealed between kinematical quantities and their rates of change. The component of the timederivative of a kinematical quantity perpendicular to it is the same as the triple product of its time-derivative sandwich between its unit vectors. One may verify if this pattern persists to higher orders. These self-referring relations naturally include higher kinematical time-rates like the jolt, jounce, etc.. which receive insufficient attention in kinematics. The time-derivatives of the proper orthonormal basis is written in terms of the same orthonormal basis, in terms of the radius of curvature and torsion of the trajectory. The results conform with the kinematical relations using the Frenet-Serret coordinates. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
