The forecasting of development trends and the timely revealing of new technical (technological) fields are the key prerequisite for an effective development of modern economy. Only reliable results of technological analysis (forecast) allow identifying new technologies, understanding the evolution of entire industries, carrying out strategic investment planning at the state level, and also planning R&D correctly. The aim of this work is to justify one of the possible approaches to the classification of technical (technological) fields in terms of assessing their relevance, novelty and short-term prospects. This approach is based on patent analysis, in particular, on the study of the time series features of US invention patents (1976-2018) for more than seventy-three thousand main groups (subgroups) of the 17th edition of the International Patent Classification (IPC17). The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has been selected as the primary source of information because it is one of the world’s largest and constantly updated patent resources, providing direct access to full-text descriptions. In the authors’ opinion, a feature analysis of the US patent issue dynamics at time intervals (1976-2015, 2009-2018 and 2016-2018) allows dividing the IPC groups (subgroups) into the following three main clusters: “unpromising”, “promising” and “breakthrough”. In terms of the timely revealing of new, previously unknown, technologies or solutions in the technical field, or of the steadily growing technological trends, the “breakthrough” and “promising” subgroups are of the greatest practical interest. The article presents the results of an empirical classification of 71,266 subgroups (with a non-zero number of the issued patents since 1976 to 2018) in eight sections of the IPC17. These data may be useful for developers, researchers and R&D planners in solving complex scientific and technical problems, as well as for making short-term forecast estimates of a specific technical (technological) field development.

F.I. Peregudov graduated from Tomsk Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Radio Engineering in 1953, then done his postgraduate studies at Tomsk State University and worked at Tomsk Polytechnic University: he was one of the organizers and leaders of the first research projects in the field of radiolocation. In 1961 he organized the Tomsk Design Bureau «Project», in 1966 1970 became Director of the Tomsk Radio Engineering Plant, in 1970–1981 took the position of Deputy Director and Director of the Research Institute of Automation and Electromechanics at Tomsk Institute of Automated Control and Radioelectronics (TIASUR), in 1981–1984 took the lead as Rector of TIASUR. In 1984–1985 he continued his career as Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR), in 1985–1990 was appointed the USSR Minister and Deputy Chairman of the USSR State Committee for Higher Education. F.I. Peregudov applied a systematic approach in all areas of his activity. During the times he headed Tomsk Design Bureau «Project» F.I. Peregudov organized the development of passive radar equipment. Working as director of the Tomsk Radio Engineering Plant, he created one of the country's first automated control systems (ACS) for production. During his work at the Research Institute of AEM, he initiated the creation of one of the first territory automated control systems in the country. In 1973, the Research Institute of Automation and Electromechanics was designated as the head organization for the development of Tomsk region automated control system, and F.I. Peregudov becomes its chief designer. He made an appeal to many leading scientists from Tomsk to create the Tomsk region automated control system, on his initiative, a computing center for collective use of the Tomsk regional statistics department was established as an integral part of the Tomsk region automated control system. During his work in Moscow, Felix Ivanovich maintained constant contact with Tomsk. In 1990, he contributed to the opening in Tomsk of the first Science Park in Russia

Main features of this design are high steep performance, high level of rejection out of band (in comparison to conventional topologies), high filter order and small occupied area. For industrial enterprises, an important area of activity is the use of non-destructive testing in assessing product quality. One of the most developed approaches in practice are optical methods (visible or infrared spectral regions) and associated algorithmic approaches to computer vision. Today a large number of industries use a manual method for detecting defects, which is labor-intensive, slow and subjective. The article presents a description of an automated optical control system to detect imperfections in bricks on a conveyor belt during their production. The optical control is based on RGB images from digital cameras. The processing algorithm is shown and the results obtained are presented

The paper considers the features of frequency-pulse-width control in a resonant LCL converter with an active rectifier in the mode of parametric stabilization of the output current. The analysis of the properties of the LCL converter during regulation by the rectifier is carried out, the phase frequency characteristic and the coefficient of parametric stabilization are obtained. It is shown that the rectifier introduces a reactive component into the impedance of the resonant circuit. It is illustrated that the introduction of the control angle leads to the loss of roots by the equation on a part of the load range. The estimation of the frequency adjustment in the converter is carried out, the control characteristic is obtained, the energy advantages of frequency-pulse-width control are demonstrated, which consists in the zero phase of the inverter current and minimization of the recuperation interval

The paper presents a semi-analytical method for calculating the shielding effectiveness (SE) of an enclosure with an aperture filled with a dielectric or magnetic material. The method is based on a combination of quasi-static analysis of coplanar strip lines (CPS) and an analytical model of an enclosure equivalent circuit. A simulation of a CPS is reduced to solving a simple electrostatic problem and can be performed by any available numerical method. The SE calculation can be performed using any of the existing models of an enclosure equivalent circuit. In the range up to 1 GHz, a validation of the proposed method was carried out using a standardized enclosure 300×120×300 mm3 as an example. To show the capabilities of the method, the paper presents the results of SE for enclosures with a PVC ventilation grill and a glass in the aperture. Using this method in conjunction with a previously published analytical model, the SE calculations for the enclosure with a conducting plate were also performed. The results show that the proposed method has an acceptable accuracy, and the average value of the absolute error does not exceed 6.4 dB

The methods to form a two-frequency inductor current in a resonant converter with multiple pulse-width modulation for systems of induction heating of complex surface shape bodies are considered. The study of the methods used to form and to regulate the frequency components of the inductor current is carried out. The approaches to assess the energy efficiency of two frequency converters are proposed and its assessment is carried out for multiple PWM by the values of power factors and overall power. It is shown that the high-frequency harmonic is formed by two components: the one that is generated by multiple modulation and the one contained in the rectangular voltage of low frequency, the latter significantly affects the energy characteristics. The algorithm to calculate the azimuth and the elevation angle on the source of radio emission in the topocentric system of coordinates is suggested according to the measurements done by the phase direction finder located on board a mobile object. The position of an aerial system direction finder to the earth topocentric system of coordinates can be changed. The change in the position of the aerial system influences the accuracy of calculating the bearings. The method to reduce the errors of bearing by iteration method is considered. The checking procedure of the algorithm by mathematical modelling is carried out.

Numerical solution of the wave parabolic equation on a rectangular grid is analyzed, when the method of discrete split-step Fourier transform (FT) is used to calculate the values of the field in an inhomogeneous medium at the next step in the range. The goal was to identify the limiting possibilities of the FT method itself, so studies were carried out for the case of radio wave propagation in free space. Two related problems were solved: what is the minimum value of the root-mean-square error (RMSE) of the field calculation and what should be the values of the transfer coefficients of the Fourier series harmonics and the values of the coefficients of the artificial absorbing layer (AL) both depending on the parameters of the computational scheme. It is shown that the dependence of the RMSE on the distance to the source always has the maximum. The forms of the optimal AL differ from those traditionally used primarily due to the presence of a significant imaginary component.

The paper considers the application of the Prony analysis for processing digital data in a sliding window. The stages of the algorithm are stated; the basic equations are given. On a model example, the features of constructing the Prony spectra are shown. Particular attention is paid to biometric data (EEG recordings). For them, the method of windowing with the extraction and visualization of complex roots is discussed. The possibility of using window processing to identify mental correlates in EEG records is shown and substantiated. Isolation of features in individual sections of the EEG can be of significant importance in the problems of biometric identification

Maintaining human’s health or doing sports, for example, requires an accurate assessment of a person's physical activity, and especially the way the person moves (gait). The natural age-related changes or diseases cause a disfunction of the musculoskeletal system, and limits human movement. Traditionally, the medical diagnostics consists in examination of a person in a static position or with a minimum level of movement. This article proposes a solution to the problem of assessing the parameters of a person's walking using several accelerometers fixed on the human body. This solution allows obtaining correct data on a human limb movement in time and space. The authors believe that this approach can be used to diagnose the state of the human musculoskeletal system

Automation of activities leads to a reduction in paper document flow, reduction of errors in work related to the human factor, reduction of time to search for the necessary information, as well as an increase in the efficiency of employees. Information systems serve as the optimal mechanism for automating the above-mentioned needs. In addition, information systems allow you to quickly get up-to-date data from various departments in the organization and use the information obtained for management purposes, as well as store large amounts of information and data. Automation of work with information also allows you to conduct analytical work, in particular on the study of the psychological state of employees of the organization, monitoring of cognitive processes. The basis for the development of an information system for recording employee data was a detailed study of the modern business community, as well as offers on the software market in the field of automation of personnel service employees. The identified basic needs for information and data when informatizing the activities of employees in various organizations or companies allowed the authors to develop an information system that meets all modern requirements.

Steganography allows to ensure the confidentiality of information by organizing covert data transmission channels. However, the effectiveness of steganographic information protection directly depends on the invisibility of a secret message, both for the human eye and for steganalysis methods. The paper proposes an approach that allows solving the problem of vulnerability of the popular QIM embedding method to statistical steganalysis. For this, it is proposed to use a variable quantization step, which is adaptively selected for each block of the JPEG cover image. The experimental results demonstrate an increase in the security level of steganographic embedding due to the application of the proposed approach.

The paper discusses the methods for harmonic current formation in DC to AC converters. The authors propose a timepulse method for control of switches in a half-bridge inverter for formation of the harmonic load current in a wide range of amplitude and output current frequency adjustment.

The paper compares two methods of user authentication based on a handwritten signature. The first is based on the extraction of local signature features as functions that depend on the time of its application. The second extracts global signature features that characterize it entirely without reference to the moments of application. Authentication algorithms are presented for each of the methods; experiments are carried out on real handwritten signatures obtained during the study.

A generalized diagram of an acoustic emission diagnostic system is presented and a set of programs for its design is proposed. The propagation of an acoustic wave simulation is carried out by COMSOL Multiphysics in plane case under various conditions and the coincidence of the results with the COSMOS / M modelling system results is shown.

The large number of social media users results in a huge amount of unstructured data (by time, type of communication, type of message and geographic location). This article aims to discuss the problem of analyzing social networks and obtaining information from unstructured data. The article discusses information extraction methods, well-known software products and datasets.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the challenges that characterize the transformation of threats to the national security of the state. The types of stochastic threats to the country's security associated with globalization, information and transport accessibility, labor and educational migration are determined. Examples of occurrence of stochastic processes with predictable consequences are considered. Problems in the creation of research tools and services are identified.

The systems intended for detecting objects of artificial and natural origin are widely used while implementing the remote sensing methods. In this case, such different frequency ranges of sounding signals as radar, acoustic and optical ones are used. This article presents the results of patent analysis of the detection systems for such groups of the International Patent Classification as G01S13, G01S15, G01S17. The analysis has been carried out using the database of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) inventions registered from 2015 to 2019. The aim of the given study was to compare the development trends of the object detection systems using the reflection or reradiation of radio-, acoustic or electromagnetic waves. It is shown that the proposed approach makes it possible to identify the promising (breakthrough) technological directions, as well as to form predictive estimates of their development in the short-term.

At present, the practice of supporting many types of human activities requires the use of the spatial data infrastructure. Such an infrastructure integrates spatio-temporal sets from many sources of information within itself, providing the user with various types of processing, analysis and visualization methods. This article describes the architecture of the software system and the processes for managing sets of spatio-temporal data to solve agricultural problems. Measurement data using multispectral satellite systems, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as well as a priori information (meteorology, agrochemical information, etc.) are taken as input information. The User of the Software System is provided with the opportunity to control the spatial information of the territory of agricultural fields, sets of temporal data from various spatial data. An important achievement of the work is the combination of the results of satellite and UAV images according to the controlled parameters, that makes possible to expand the area of use of UAVs and verify them. The results of real data processing are presented.

The matrix of criteria (priorities) and methods of its construction are considered. The application of a matrix of criteria (priorities) for evaluating the effectiveness of software is proposed. The analysis results for the analogues of software to account and control contracts at an enterprise using a priority matrix are presented.

The feature selection is an important step in constructing any classifier. Binary versions of metaheuristic optimization algorithms are often used for selection. However, many metaheuristics are originally created to work in the continuous search space, so they need to be specially adapted to the binary space. In this paper, the authors propose fifteen ways to binarize the Shuffled frog leaping algorithm based on the following methods: modified algebraic operations, merge operation, and transformation functions. The efficiency of the binary algorithm was tested in the problem of feature selection for fuzzy classifiers on data sets from the KEEL repository. The results show that all the described methods of binarization allow reducing the features, while increasing the overall accuracy of classification.

The article discusses the problem of infringement of academic ethics among students of universities. The author compares the perception of this problem by scientists, university administration, teachers and students. The prospects of applying punitive measures to counteract fraud, measures aimed at correcting the corporate culture of the university, as well as measures to reorganize independent work that makes attempts at plagiarism impossible or unprofitable are evaluated. Based on the application of the change formula, or the Glaicher's formula, the differences between the characteristics of students who choose a cheating strategy in training and students who prefer honest work and cooperation are revealed. The first steps aimed at changing the behavior of dishonest students and involving them in the cooperation strategy are proposed.

Asymmetric coupled double-shielded lines in an inhomogeneous dielectric medium, which have special properties that allow us to create microwave hybrids of a given directionality type are investigated. For the first time, a new model and method of synthesis are proposed, which takes into account both the asymmetry and the inhomogeneity of the dielectric, which makes it possible to synthesize co-, counter- and transdirectional couplers that have both the transforming and required phase properties. The research results will be useful for finding new design solutions of the next generation microwave circuits.

The operation of a solar cell resonant converter at operating modes in the power supply system of a small spacecraft is investigated. The resonant converter with pulse-code regulation simulation model has been developed, and the operation point by stabilizing charge current mode and stabilizing output voltage mode is considered. The converter regulating characteristics in various operating modes are obtained.

Currently, an active deployment of radio access networks for mobile communication systems 5G New Radio is being observed. The architecture of networks is developing rapidly, where significant part of the functions is performed in a virtual cloud space of a personal computer. The computing power of a personal computer must be sufficient to execute network protocols in real time. To reduce the cost of deploying 5G NR networks, the configuration of each remote computer must be optimally matched to the scale of a particular network. Therefore, an urgent direction of research is the assessment of the execution time of the 5G NR protocol stack on various configurations of computers and the development of a mathematical model for data analysis, approximation of dependencies and making recommendations. In this paper, the authors provide an overview of the main 5G NR network architectures, as well as a description of the methods and tools that can be used to estimate the computational complexity of the 5G NR protocol stack. The final section provides an analysis of the computational complexity of the protocol stack, obtained during the experiments by colleagues in partner institutions.

The numerical-analytical model of the voltage regulator based on full-bridge LLC resonant converter is proposed in this paper. In the text of the article LLC converters operation algorithm on each working interval is investigated. The proposed mathematical model describes key elements behavior on duty cycle and allows the study of nonlinear dynamic characteristics of these type power converters. Also, the results of mathematical and simulation the modeling main parameters of the LLC converters, which confirm the adequacy of the proposed mathematical model are given.

The article describes the types of distortion of the QPSK signal and the algorithms for measuring the parameters of distortions in the conditions of their simultaneous presence in the signal.

New formulas and graphs for modal parameters are given, which are necessary for the synthesis of unequal coupled lines with arbitrary dielectric filling. The choice of modal parameters, such as characteristic impedance, coupling coefficient, modal voltages and dielectric constants, as initial data for the calculation allows optimal synthesis of the coupled line parameters, and followed determination of the geometric dimensions of the structure.

The article presents the results of modeling an analog radio path of a fifth-generation cellular base station in the NI AWR Design Environment. The validation of the power amplifier model was performed in the AWR software environment. The validation is based on the comparison of measurement results for the nonlinear parameters of the amplitude characteristics of the microwave amplifier obtained on the amplifier model, with the results obtained during mathematical modeling of the nonlinear amplifier. The results of measuring the vector magnitude error between the input and output signals in the radiopath model are presented.

In the presented article, the results of the research of the spreading spectrum technology are given and its use in communication systems based on the data transmission over power lines is considered. One of the currently existing problems of data transmission systems over power lines is the absence of a compromise solution in ensuring the required data transmission rate and communication range. Ready-made solutions existing on the market provide either high data transmission rates over short distances or a communication long-range with rates not exceeding several tens of kilobits per second. The purpose of the article is to research the application of spread spectrum technology in data transmission systems over power lines. In the course of the experiment, it was found that the joint use of OFDM technology and the spread spectrum technology makes it possible to form a solution that provides communication over power lines over a distance of tens of meters with a data transmission rate of at least 5 Mbps. This article compares the TP-Link 500 Mbps modem for broadband high-speed data transmission, and the NWEPLC-1-G3M modem for narrowband low-speed data transmission. The results of modeling a communication system with different lengths and types of spreading sequences for BPSK and QPSK modulations are presented. An assessment of the interference protection was carried out. The results of an experimental research of the spectrum spreading technology on a model of a data transmission system over power lines in terms of range and transmission rate in comparison with existing devices on the market are presented. The results obtained can be used in the design of communication systems over power lines.
