Background The pathophysiology of takotsubo syndrome (TTS) is not well understood, however, it is often precipitated by psychological or physical stress. Marital status is related to emotional stress, but its associations with TTS are limited. Aim To explored the potential association between marital status and TTS. Methods We conducted a case-control study using data on patients aged ≥ 40 years with marital status data in the National Hospital Discharge Survey (2006-2010). The International Classification of Diseases Ninth Revision codes were used to identify cases with TTS and other comorbid conditions. Each case was matched to 5 controls by age, sex, year of TTS diagnosis and bed size of hospital. Two sets of controls were selected: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) controls and non-cardiovascular disease (CVD) controls. Conditional logistic regression was used to estimate odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) for the association of marital status with TTS. Results The 59 patients with TTS who had information on marital status were matched to 295 controls with AMI and 295 non-CVD controls, resulting in a sample of 649 patients. The average age of cases was 69.7 ± 11 years with 90% being women and 88% reporting White race. In multivariable-adjusted models, compared to singles, patients who were married had lower odds of TTS (OR = 0.86, 95%CI: 0.79-0.93) while those who were widowed (OR = 1.14, 95%CI: 1.05-1.23) or divorced/separated (OR = 1.32, 95%CI: 1.21-1.45) had elevated odds for TTS when compared to non-CVD controls. Similar results were observed when cases were compared to controls with AMI. Conclusion In this study, being married was associated with lower odds for TTS while being divorced/separated or widowed was related to elevated odds for TTS. These novel findings that underscore the potential importance of social factors like marital status in the development of TTS need confirmation in larger studies.

This study addresses the brand repositioning of Banco Intermedium. The objective of the study was to understand what the brand positioning was like for some years and how it has been working its repositioning since 2017. We also seek to investigate how the repositioning contributed to the improvement of the institution's image and performance in the marketplace. As a methodology, secondary data searches were adopted through the Internet, through the brand's websites and online social networks, and as a method for obtaining primary data, interviews were conducted with clients, and with a branding specialist and employee of Banco Inter, in order to understand the internal and external perception of the brand.

Considerando os diferentes aspectos e aplicacoes das ferramentas estatisticas, este artigo propoe a aplicacao de ferramentas estatisticas, bem como da qualidade para analise e busca da causa raiz de um problema de qualidade, por meio de um estudo de caso realizado em uma empresa automobilistica multinacional. Essas ferramentas sao de grande importância para auxiliar tanto na compreensao das analises do problema, como dos resultados esperados, servir de guia para melhorias do processo e controles internos necessarios para antecipar e evitar derivas da producao, reduzindo retrabalhos e, consequentemente, os custos. Para alcancar o objetivo final da empresa, foram estabelecidos planos de acao, guiados pelas ferramentas estatisticas, e mudancas no processo buscando evoluir a qualidade do produto, atendendo assim, os requisitos dos clientes, o que leva a manutencao do mercado automobilistico e ate mesmo a conquista de novos clientes.

Nitrocellulose (NC) is a polymer of great interest in the aerospace and paint/coating fields. However, there are gaps regarding quantitative analysis. Fast and accurate methodologies for the quality control of raw materials are limited. In this context, the determination of the nitrogen content in NC and the contents of different acrylic/styrene components in formulations with NC were assessed. The applicability of non-conventional Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) techniques, using the universal attenuated total reflection (UATR) mode, in the medium infrared (MIR) region and of the transflectance in the near infrared region (NIRA) were evaluated. For nitrogen determination, FT-MIR/UATR analysis proved to be the most accurate methodology. For the analysis of acrylic/styrene components in NC, it was possible to determine, with good precision, the contents of most samples by FT-MIR/UATR and FT-NIRA.

Ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber is used as flexible thermal protection for rocket engines, as well as in blends with polychloroprene, which can be applied in the aeronautical sector, and with great potential in the defense sector. However, there is not a considerable number of studies considering both polymers as a blend. In general, elastomer content quantification in blends is done by more complex instrumental methods. When performed by Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy, the conventional transmission mode is used, usually without including the developed methodology error. Therefore, the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) methodology is proposed using the universal attenuated total reflection mode, with sample treatment (pyrolysis) to determine polychloroprene content in the mixture with ethylene propylene diene monomer. In accordance with the infrared spectrometer precision limits and rubber blends studies data found in the literature, the methodology error analysis shows a value close to 2%. In addition, it has the advantage of being a less complex methodology. This actual study uses a simple FT-IR analytical tool, scarce, especially for the rubber research community, to determine the content of rubber minor phase within the major phase. It is valuable in weapons reverse engineering, aiming at the knowledge of new thermal protections.

Obtiveram-se 23 artigos, divididos de acordo com seus perfis e agrupados em tabelas, respectivamentes: artigos que contem propostas e desenvolvimento de softwares (n=6); informacoes sobre a informatizacao da enfermagem (n=13); a informatizacao na educacao em enfermagem (n=4). A enfermagem esta constantemente em busca de melhorias para a assistencia e ensino e que a mesma ve atraves da utilizacao das TICs um novo meio de realizar a assistencia de forma a diminuir seu tempo na area gerencial e aumentando por conseguinte na assistencia. We obtained 23 articles, divided according to their profiles and grouped into tables, respectively: articles containing proposals and software development (n=6); information on nursing computerization (n=13); computerization in nursing education (n=4). The objective of this work is to analyze the productivity of different Brazilian research promotion agencies by using the Method of Interactive Decision Making and Multicriteria (Acronym TODIM in Portuguese), which is based on the Prospect Theory. The proposed model classify of 22 Brazilian research agencies (two federal and twenty state agencies) under six different criteria. The result shows that some small state agencies are more efficient than bigger ones in terms of the funding/scholarship ratio. This suggests that the winner model could be further investigated to be promoted among the other agencies of this country.

Instrumental techniques such as Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) constitute well-studied methodologies for polymer characterization, including polymeric fibers. However, a relatively short number of scientific publications involve the characterization of commercial Poly [(4-hydroxybenzoic)-ran-(2-hydroxy-6-naphthoic acid)] (Vectran™) fiber and its surface species. The majority of the published infrared studies uses the medium infrared region (MIR) associated to the Attenuated total reflection (ATR) method. In this scenario, this short review addresses the characteristics of Vectran™ fiber, sample depth data of each FT-IR spectrum mode, reflection and photo-acoustic spectroscopy (PAS), including near infrared (NIR) analysis. This paper addresses also researches on the characterization of Vectran™ by several FT-IR analysis conditions aiming to contribute to future studies. This brief review deals with methodologies developed in the last decade and published by several scientific research groups, emphasizing studies conducted in the last five years. A critical assessment and trends are also included.

The article aims to understand through interviews with Disney park goers and prospects the strategies that the multinational company The Walt Disney Company uses to become a brand that enchants, using the so-called experience marketing. The project also looks at how The Walt Disney Company's strategies can influence not only customers but also prospects to trust and desire the brand. The survey pointed out that more than 90% of visitors had their expectations surpassed, even though they had a high level of expectation of knowing the parks.

The article aims to study and understand the tools available on the web and relate these tools to the concept of digital marketing, introducing new ways of business, through the creative economy and entrepreneurship. The methodological procedure chosen for the investigation of this work was the exploratory research. The research was developed through the qualitative method, with interviews as instrument of data collection. The type of research technique was classified as semi-structured interview, in which communication professionals in the company Rock Content answered a questionnaire, with a view to obtaining previously information about the demands of the advertising market, the difficulties and the challenges encountered in the daily life of these professionals. In this perspective, the present study discusses concepts raised by the literature on the web and entrepreneurship, insofar as this scenario of the advertising market in the web is analyzed.

The strategy of involving consumers and prospects through tales or stories in advertising, known as storytelling, has been widely used by organizations and well accepted by the general public. One of the companies that bet on this format was the brazillian ice cream and popsicle maker, the Diletto brand. However, the strategy of storytelling used by the organization had a negative repercussion, because the story told was not exactly the real story about the beginning of the company. Thus, this article intends to identify the true reasons that made Diletto's strategy detrimental to the brand. To that end, the paper tackled how a non-assertive storytelling strategy can compromise the organization's image. The research identified, through data collection research and the theoretical basis of authors who are specialists in the subject, the factors that led to the failure of the strategy and why the negative repercussion involving the brand, after the true story became public knowledge.

This study aimed to examine the relationships between trust, perceived value and loyalty in tourist services. As the ecommerce has been increasing, it’s important to evaluate if trust in front line employees and trust in management policies and practices are central determinants of loyalty. From the standpoint of the consumer, the Internet is a tool for decision making and used to establish comparisons to help their buying decision. The literature review sought to contextualize commerce, trust, perceived value and loyalty in tourism, services marketing and relationship marketing. We conducted a quantitative and descriptive research, with 201 valid interviews, through an electronic survey. The collected data was analyzed using the Partial Least Squares method, allowing working with a small sample size. As results, we concluded that trust in frontline employees influences positively perceived value and loyalty, management policies and practices drive directly only perceived value, and perceived value influences loyalty.

In the Information Age, social networks play an important role in spreading the word of mouth communication among consumers. The question is whether word of mouth may also interfere with affective commitment of the client in relation to a brand or product, as well as their purchasing choice. The sample for the research has been any person participating actively in any consumer social networks. The questionnaires were answered by personal and professional contacts of the author, who accessed the link to the google docs. What is noticed now is a spontaneous articulation between clients in the search for justice in consumer relations between companies. Consumers are mobilized on social networking sites in search of assistance and quality products, ready to alert other consumers when companies do not keep their promises or recommend services and products that have met their goal of excellent value in exchange for their money.
