Цель исследования заключается в получении информации о психическом здоровье молодых финских спортсменов старшего школьного возраста с точки зрения профилей состояний настроения. Было описано шесть разных профилей. Общий показатель настроения был выше у женщин, чем у мужчин. Энергетический индекс был самым высоким у мужчин в индивидуальных видах спорта и самым низким у мужчин в командных видах спорта. У женщин в индивидуальных видах спорта он был ниже, чем у мужчин в индивидуальных видах спорта, и выше в командных видах спорта, чем у мужчин. Он был выше у женщин в индивидуальных видах спорта, чем у женщин в командных видах спорта. The aim of the study is to obtain information about the mental health of young Finnish athletes of high school age in terms of mood state profiles. Six different profiles were described. The overall mood score of women was higher than of men. The energy index was the highest for the men in individual sports and the lowest one was for the men in team sports. For the women in individual sports, it was lower than for men in individual sports. For the women in team sports it was higher than for men in team sports. The energy index was higher for women in individual sports than for women in team sports.

В исследовании выявлены особенности адаптивности к карьере в старших классах спортивной школы. В статье представлены данные относительно того, в какой степени самооценка и пол связаны с адаптивностью к двойной карьере, определены профили адаптации к карьере спортсменов-подростков, выявлены как ожидания студентов-спортсменов в зависимости от их успехов в спорте и учебе и соответствующие ожидания их родителей связаны с их профилями адаптации к карьере. Получены новые данные относительно того, как организационная культура спортивной школы влияет на построение карьеры спортсменов-подростков. The purpose of the scientific research was to study the career growth and well-being of adolescent athletes in conditions of dual career growth. The study revealed the features of adaptability to a career in high school of sports school. The article presents data on the extent to which self-esteem and gender are associated with adaptability to a dual career, the profiles of adaptation to the career of adolescent athletes have been defined, it is also revealed how the expectations of student-athletes depending on their success in sports and studies and the corresponding expectations of their parents are associated with their profiles of adaptation to a career. The new data on how the organizational culture of a sports school affects the career development of teenage athletes have been obtained.

В статье даются результаты исследования о роли тренера в мотивации спортсменов на построение двух карьер, а также их взглядов на двойную карьеру девушек и юношей. Результаты показали, что учащиеся-спортсмены в старших классах спортивных школ часто воспринимали созданный тренером мотивационный климат как нацеленный на достижение спортивного результата. Опрошенные спортсмены объяснили, что такой подход не мотивировал их на учебный процесс, а скорее обесценивал их образовательные цели. Выявлено, что тренеры, хотя и подчеркивали важность получения спортсменами среднего образования, не могли обосновать, как данные идеи включены в тренерскую практику. Тренеры согласились с тем, что те спортсмены, которые переходят в элитный спорт, должны сосредоточиться на развитии своей спортивной карьеры, при этом требования элитного спорта и высшего образования часто считались как несовместимые. Результаты показали, что стили коучинга играют важную роль в поддержке мотивации спортсменов к достижению целей двух карьер. The article presents the results of a study on the role of a coach in motivating athletes to build two careers, as well as their coaches’ views on the dual careers of girls and boys. The results have showed that student-athletes in high school of sports schools often perceived the motivational climate created by the coach as a process aimed at achieving sports results. The interviewed athletes explained that this approach did not motivate them to the learning process, and moreover, devalued their educational goals. It was revealed that although the coaches emphasized the importance of receiving secondary education for athletes, they could not justify how these ideas were included in coaching practice. The coaches have agreed that those athletes who switch to elite sports should focus on developing their sports career, while the requirements of elite sports and higher education were often considered incompatible. The results have showed that coaching styles play an important role in supporting the motivation of athletes to achieve the goals of two careers.

Abstract

Heusler-type Ni–Mn–Sn glass-coated microwires (mws) with the average chemical composition Ni41.7Mn47.7Sn10.6 were prepared by the Taylor–Ulitovsky technique; a basic characterization of their structural, microstructural, and magnetic properties is presented. Polycrystalline mws samples had a nearly uniform circular cross section with an average diameter of around $200 ~\mu \text{m}$ and a microstructure formed by micronic in size globular in shape grains. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis shows that the as-prepared samples crystalize into a highly ordered $\text{L}2_{1}$ -type austenitic crystal structure with a lattice parameter ${a}$ = 5.96 Å. However, the thermomagnetic analysis curves, which were measured under a low magnetic field of 10 mT, denote the occurrence of two successive magnetic transitions at 248 and 265 K which leads to a broad thermal dependence of the magnetic entropy change.

24. Implications of the Identity Position for Dual Career Construction: Gendering the Pathways to (Dis)continuation

Abstract

Objectives To examine how gender functions in the narrative construction of dual career styles, and how these styles impact the (dis)continuation of a dual career pathway. Design Longitudinal qualitative study. Method Life story interviews with 18 talented Finnish athletes (10 cis women, 8 cis men) at four points in time – when they averaged 16, 17, 19, and 20 years of age – followed by an integrative narrative-discursive analysis. Results (a) contrapuntal style was gender-typically female; (b) monophonic style was gender-typically male; and (c) dissonant style was an important pathway to dual career discontinuation through which gender ideologies impacted the emergent adults with differential outcomes. Although all adolescent athletes aspired to construct a dual career pathway into adulthood, less than half (7 of 18) sustained dual career on and after graduation from upper secondary school. The life course and performance master narratives provided gender-specific scripts for life story and identity development. Conclusions Our findings signpost that dual career discourse practices are organised along the gender binary, which may be fortifying the assumed normalcy of gendered life choices instead of opening up the field of possibilities. To facilitate cultural change in dual career development environments, we urge for the critical examination of socio-cultural constraints on adolescent athletes' choices

Abstract

The focus of dual career (DC) research has shifted from exploring individual experiences within Athletic Talent Development Environments (ATDEs) toward understanding the impact of the environment and the broader cultural context on individuals' developmental trajectories in Dual Career Development Environments (DCDEs). To comply with national and EU recommendations for socially responsible elite sport, many successful ATDEs list DC as one of their primary values and advertise themselves as DCDEs in order to attract more athletes. The present study aimed to evaluate whether and how a talent development environment for youth athletes in Finland has transformed from an ATDE to DCDE by exploring the environment's success factors and organisational culture. This study is grounded in the theoretical framework of Holistic Ecological Approach and follows the Real-Time Case Method. Principal methods of data collection included interviews, observations, and documents. The results indicated that the environment was characterised by an incoherent organisational culture, and the environment was identified as an ATDE rather than a DCDE. We suggest that for the Finnish sports environment to successfully transform into a functioning DCDE, changes in the organisational culture are necessary and DC recommendations should be integrated into the environment to provide resources for student-athletes to develop a balanced life and the prerequisites to succeed in future endeavours. Abstract

This work was supported by the project n. 38 Virtual human body model for prevention, therapy and rehabilitation of shoulder disease realised within the frame of the Program INTERREG V-A: Cross-border cooperation between the Czech Republic and the Federal State of Germany Bavaria, Aim European Cross-border cooperation 2014-2020. The realisation is supported by financial means of the European Regional Development Fund (85% of the costs) and the state budget of the Czech Republic (5%). The aim of this study is to contribute to the development of personalized musculoskeletal human shoulder model for the prevention, therapy and rehabilitation strategies. Namely, we participate in the development of the virtual shoulder model in the AnyBody Modeling System (AMS). This model consists of bones that are interconnected via kinematic joints, muscles with corresponding tendons and ligaments. The bones are considered as rigid bodies. Each muscle with corresponding tendon is represented with several virtual elements in the model that are usually referred to as lines of action. These lines are considered as hill-type models and allows for the active motion of the model as a whole. An important task in the model development is setting realistic muscle paths in order to predict accurate acting forces and moments. To achieve that, artificial obstacles are used in the AMS model to avoid unreal muscle shapes and excessive sliding. Namely, the torus obstacle method is used. It means that for each muscle line, tori obstacles are defined. The path is then given as a shortest connection of muscle attachments, closely wrapping the torus surface. Hence, the key issue of the model development is to define proper position and radii of each torus obstacle. These parameters differ in general for different individuals. The aim of this study is to develop methodology for setting the parameters of tori obstacles based on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of a particular shoulder. That is, patient-specific approach is adopted.

The structural phase transformation in a non-stoichiometric shape memory Fe42.8Mn27.6Ga29.6 Heusler glass-coated microwire was experimentally observed using indirect magnetic, permeability, and electrical resistance measurements. While the temperature dependence of magnetization revealed hysteresis of magnetization during the heating and cooling process, magnetic hysteresis loops point to the change in the direction of the easy magnetization axis of the low- and high-temperature phase. Additionally, the unusual behavior of the permeability and electrical resistance measurements are in good agreement with the magnetic measurements. The x-ray diffraction profile measured at room temperature revealed the coexistence of a high-temperature L21 phase (a = 5.88 Ă...) and low-temperature phase with the L12 structure (a = 3.71 Ă...) and can be considered as another proof of the shape memory effect that is expected in the Feâ€"Mnâ€"Ga-based Heusler alloys. In the presented glass-coated microwire, it is not only possible to shift the transformation temperature with the external magnetic field, but from its initial permeability value, it is possible to determine whether the alloy has undergone the structural transformation. Abstract

The expansion of repressive epigenetic marks has been implicated in heterochromatin formation during embryonic development, but the general applicability of this mechanism is unclear. Here we show that nuclear rearrangement of repressive histone marks H3K9me3 and H3K27me3 into nonoverlapping structural layers characterizes senescence-associated heterochromatic foci (SAHF) formation in human fibroblasts. However, the global landscape of these repressive marks remains unchanged upon SAHF formation, suggesting that in somatic cells, heterochromatin can be formed through the spatial repositioning of pre-existing repressively marked histones. This model is reinforced by the correlation of presenescent replication timing with both the subsequent layered structure of SAHFs and the global landscape of the repressive marks, allowing us to integrate microscopic and genomic information. Furthermore, modulation of SAHF structure does not affect the occupancy of these repressive marks, nor vice versa. These experiments reveal that high-order heterochromatin formation and epigenetic remodeling of the genome can be discrete events.
