Under the premise that revitalization can be attained through multi‐, inter‐, or transdisciplinary fields, this article posits that teaching English as a foreign language (EFL) can aid in revitalizing the Aymara, an indigenous community in Northern Chile, to avoid their cultural and linguistic extinction. This qualitative study explored how EFL teachers' practices can contribute to revitalizing the Aymara culture and language in schools located in Northern Chile. Ten teachers participated in individual semi‐structured online synchronous interviews and a group interview. The findings revealed two types of practices: (a) non‐intercultural teaching practices that were mediated by personal, educational, and institutional factors, and (b) approximations of intercultural teaching practices where the teachers valued and included Aymara culture, yet they did not generate spaces for intercultural dialog in the classrooms. The study concludes that the approximations of intercultural teaching practices contribute to an initial stage in revitalizing indigenous languages and culture, an implication that should be considered valuable in teacher education programs and the EFL classroom. El apoyo activo de una comunidad y su capacidad para organizarse en un fideicomiso de tierras comunitarias (Community Land Trust, CLT) son la piedra angular de esta colaboración duradera y fructífera. Durante más de una década, el colectivo multidisciplinario Assemble ha trabajado con el CLT Cuatro Calles de Granby en Liverpool, contribuyendo a una iniciativa ejemplar de regeneración urbana bottom-up. Su participación abarca desde la remodelación de casas abandonadas para arriendo asequible, el establecimiento y asociación con el Taller de cerámica Granby hasta el diseño del jardín de invierno Granby, todas ellas iniciativas orientadas a la regeneración urbana centrada en la comunidad.

The present research is focused on the revitalization of the traditions and customs of the Chugchilán parish. To obtain the desired results, a situational analysis of the parish was carried out, methods and techniques such as direct observation, use of data sheets were used. INPC inventory where it was possible to identify 3 oral expressions, 2 social uses, rituals and festive acts, 2 in knowledge and uses related to nature and 1 in traditional craft techniques, in addition, surveys were applied where the information collected shows the problem of the devaluation of cultural manifestations of communities, factors such as unemployment, migration and globalization have caused new generations to distance themselves from their cultural identity, having a different way of perceiving their behavior, leading to the loss of value cultural heritage. The entire study allowed us to conclude that: the devaluation of traditions and customs is evident within the parish because young people have chosen to practice a culture that does not belong to their own, causing cultural manifestations to be in a state vulnerable to loss because there is no interest in maintaining its cultural practices over time, despite having great cultural potential, it has not yet been used to offer it as a tourist activity and propose a proposal for the revitalization of traditions and customs, which consists of prepare audiovisual material with themes of oral expressions that exist within the parish translated into the Kichwa language that is aimed at young people who are unaware of cultural manifestations, in this way to capture the attention of youth to rescue the cultural heritage of Chugchilán. This article explores the use of qard al-hasan as a crowdfunding instrument to finance Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. The research analyzes the internal and external aspects necessary for successful implementation, including system management, customers, and authority. The findings aim to improve the quality and sustainability of qard al-hasan financing, ultimately increasing access to financing for MSMEs. The article also discusses the challenges faced by MSMEs in Indonesia and recommends measures to strengthen qard al-hasan as a wealth redistribution instrument. Overall, the research provides insights into alternative financing options for MSMEs and emphasizes the importance of good governance and customer focus in the revitalization process. A pesar de la influencia que tuvo la expansión del alemán estándar y el declive de la liga Hanseática en la situación del bajo alemán, esta variante lingüística cuenta desde 1998 con el estatus de “lengua regional”. Presente en gran parte del territorio del norte de la República Federal Alemana, y más concretamente en la isla de Pellworm, este trabajo persigue dos objetivos fundamentales: conocer el ámbito de uso de esta variante y las percepciones de los propios hablantes de esta isla. Los resultados muestran que la situación de esta variante lingüística ha mejorado en los últimos años. Esto, según ha podido observarse, se debe en parte al carácter de cercanía emocional, además de al sentimiento de identificación que le otorgan los propios hablantes, los cuales dicen poder expresarse mejor en ella que en alemán y emplearla mayoritariamente en situaciones familiares.

The management of historical centers (HCs) in Latin America is formed according to parameters established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). This entity granted legitimacy to HCs, promoted their recognition, and advocated for parameters of action for their development, preservation and consolidation. This led to an interest in a documentary and bibliographic approach, based on institutional historical analysis, of the forms of sustainable management of HCs in Latin America, based on recognized experiences. The conclusions reveal the existence of intervention criteria that point out towards the new paradigm of sustainability, leaving open the possibility of doing research, in the case of the HCs of Venezuela, particularly HC Barquisimeto. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo describir el proceso de revitalización lingüística y cultural del maya yucateco por medio de la socialización del lenguaje, en una familia bilingüe, extensa y migrante en la ciudad de Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo, México. Esta investigación lingüística y etnográfica aborda el análisis de la lengua desde la perspectiva de su uso social, con énfasis en el fortalecimiento y la revitalización. Los resultados sintetizan la experiencia familiar de once años de trabajo continuo sobre la revitalización del maya yucateco y explican cómo una familia focal ha logrado detener y revertir el desplazamiento intergeneracional de la lengua, para restablecer su uso en el hogar y en los espacios públicos. Se presenta también la operación de las políticas lingüísticas de la familia que han permitido la crianza de hijos bilingües formados para seguir revitalizando la lengua maya desde el hogar, de manera constante y continua.

El artículo se propone analizar la relación que con el relato de tradición oral tienen las narradoras y narradores «urbanos y contemporáneos» (profesionales que durante las últimas décadas han visibilizado la práctica de la narración en diferentes espacios culturales y educativos) que residen en Argentina y España. Se atiende al grado de presencia que tienen los relatos de tradición oral en los repertorios y a los modos en que son transmitidos y seleccionados, con especial atención al carácter de las fuentes. Ello nos lleva a profundizar en la consideración que este material tiene dentro de la profesión y a plantear si la narración de estos relatos en un contexto urbano y contemporáneo implica su revitalización.

In the latter half of 2000, the youth were questioned by political party organizations in a context with renewed expressions of militancy. This youth revitalization process was studied at the national level with an emphasis about meanings and values associated with youth and the building forms of militancy commitment. From a qualitative approach, this paper recovers the militant youth experiences from four political party organizations in the city of Resistencia, Chaco (Argentina), with the aim of analyzing their forms of participation and demands in order to identify the processes of inclusion and possible transformations inside the organizations. We highlight as main findings that the context of youth mobilization has limited influences in the case of the organizations analyzed, and the revitalization processes that militant youth can mobilize are strongly dependent on the relationship between traditional ways of the organization in terms of local-national performances and the role of party elites. This supports the image of a youth that disputes positions and internal transformations as generational demands on the most conservative organizations compared to others where they are located in higher hierarchical spaces. Decades of experience with closed, relocated, and renamed venues, make punks very familiar with cycles of gentrification. Often established in edge neighborhoods, punk venues participate in reproducing the "grit" of urban decline and subculture. Urban revitalization plans that promise community, livability, and culture, rarely leave spaces for established punk community and subculture. The newly branded Retail, Arts, and Theatre District in Ottawa, Canada is a case study in cultural urban development that operationalizes creative placemaking and its future-oriented visions of urban revitalization through cultural spaces and activities. Although the city's Official Plan celebrates that existing cultural venues add diversity to the district, the pressure placed on punk venues by surrounding development reveal that not all venues are to be recognized by the city as legitimate or desirable forms of either diversity or culture. Close readings of official city planning documents, urban histories, development proposals, and marketing literature are juxtaposed with auto-ethnographic, storytelling, punk histories, and song writing. I argue that punk counter-cultural placemaking practices provide counter-information, counter-environments, and counter-temporalities to space in the city to resist gentrification and refuse displacement as endings. En Chile, la revitalización y puesta en valor de patrimonio urbano enfrenta desafíos de gobernanza urgentes y hace necesario el desarrollo de criterios de intervención adecuados. Para una conveniente gestión, se requiere coordinación entre procesos de protección, revitalización y desarrollo urbano, con metodologías de monitoreo que retroalimenten la toma de decisiones y fundamenten planes y proyectos patrimoniales apropiados a diferentes tipos de barrios patrimoniales. En este marco, proponemos un Índice de Evolución de Barrios Patrimoniales (IEBP), desarrollado en el marco de la investigación “Impacto de los instrumentos de protección patrimonial sobre la dinámica de barrios metropolitanos” (2019), que permite comparar procesos específicos en diferentes tipos de barrios. Se plantean conclusiones sobre la utilidad del IEBP para diferenciar dinámicas posteriores a la protección y proyectar políticas de revitalización que conjuguen la protección de los bienes culturales y el desarrollo urbano.

Existen en España diversas situaciones de empleo y trabajo que acarrean serias dificultades para que los trabajadores puedan tener representación colectiva. Varias de estas situaciones vienen de lejos, como las de los trabajadores autónomos dependientes y falsos, las de los empleados en centros de trabajo pequeños y las de los trabajadores con empleos de corta duración. Otras situaciones son nuevas, como las de los trabajadores de plataforma. El artículo analiza las estrategias y prácticas desarrolladas por los sindicatos y por organizaciones de riders, de cuidadoras a domicilio y de limpiadoras de habitaciones de hotel para responder a dichas dificultades. Al respecto, se constata una creciente experimentación en estrategias y prácticas dirigidas a estos colectivos de trabajadores, tanto por parte de los sindicatos mayoritarios, como de los minoritarios. Además, se muestran las experiencias alternativas de representación efectuadas por las organizaciones mencionadas.

From the re-significance of a local museum, the articulation between nature, human beings and technology proposed by the Human Scale Development and the integrated and participatory management of community-based tourism, it is proposed to reflect on an emerging biocultural revitalization experience, inserted within the Los Ríos Community- Based Tourism Program. Thus, from a qualitative research approach complemented with Participant Action Research tools, different elements of Mapuche biocultural interest are identified between the territories of Challupen to Liquiñe in the commune of Panguipulli (Los Ríos Region) in southern Chile - which are articulated in a network, on a life scale, that makes visible the complexity of territorial contexts, integrated indistinctly, both by biotic and abiotic diversity, as well as by the diversity of cultural and organizational wealth. The purpose of this study is to contribute with the debate about a recurrent practice throughout the development of geography, namely the discussion about categories, themes, terms, and other specificities that make up the field of Geography research. In this context, we present a discussion about the uses of the term "urban revitalization", which is routinely used by scholars of the aforementioned science as a synonym for a practice known as resurrection of theoretically degraded and/or abandoned urban spaces. However, analyzing its conceptualization and some practices carried out, which have been guided as urban revitalization, during this research study, we found an inconsistency. Resumen Se analiza la relación entre la inversión inmobiliaria institucional que procede de los sistemas de previsión social, tales como fondos de pensiones, compañías aseguradoras, mutualidades laborales, etc. y la regeneración y activación del patrimonio arquitectónico, dotándolo de nueva vida y utilidad para el conjunto de la sociedad. La discusión estriba en la dicotomía entre Patrimonio Activado (Asset) y Patrimonio Museizado, entrando en las consideraciones pertinentes sobre la reutilización del patrimonio arquitectónico y su rentabilidad social y económica, frente a la situación de obsolescencia y consiguiente deterioro (“Edificios Muertos”). El texto pretende añadir un enfoque adicional, para avanzar en las buenas prácticas a llevar a cabo en relación con la conservación del patrimonio, que ocupará un papel relevante en los próximos años. Abstract This article analyses the relationship between institutional real estate investment from social welfare systems, such as pension funds, insurance companies, mutual labour unions, etc., and the regeneration and recycling of architectural heritage, endowing it with new life and utility for society at large. The debate is focused on the dichotomy between Activated Heritage (Asset) and “Museumised” Heritage, and delves into architectural heritage reuse and its social and economic profitability, contrasting with the situation of obsolescence and its resulting deterioration (“Dead Buildings”). This work seeks to add a complementary approach to advance good practices in heritage preservation, which will become crucial in the coming years.

Buscar la conservación de los sistemas productivos tradicionales en el territorio de Puracé implicó identificar los principales factores que los han afectado y definir estrategias, que posibiliten su conservación. En el resguardo, el esfuerzo de conservación, se realiza a través de una organización, de hecho, que pertenece al cabildo indígena, denominada custodios de semillas. Por esta razón, el trabajo se focalizó con ellos, con quienes se realizaron talleres, entrevistas y trabajo de campo, que involucraron observación participante, etnografías, caracterización etnobotánica y análisis cartográficos, lo que llevó a generar una Ruta biocultural de conservación de las semillas nativas y criollas. Se identificaron 156 semillas, que fueron etnoclasificadas, 90 de uso culinario, 37 medicinales, 16 usadas para alimento y medicina y 13 con otros usos; los factores bioculturales que afectan la conservación, se agruparon en 5 categorías; el relevo generacional es el principal factor cultural, sobre el cual, es necesario trabajar para la conservación de las semillas nativas y criolla, por lo que constituye el eje estructurante de la Ruta que se propuso.

Since the crisis with the agriculture and livestock sector, which took place in the late 1990s and early 2000s, various state and non-state actors have tried to stimulate, socially and economically, rural towns in Argentina. In this context, tourism is becoming increasingly frequent in initiatives and programs as a revitalization strategy, considering its positive aspects. However, the tourism development process entails a number of material and symbolic transformations that can provoke tensions. Hence, in this article we propose to critically analyze how these processes are generated through the construction of a "cultural biography". Countless urban revitalization or urban renewal projects have been implemented in innumerous cities around the world. The results cause what social scientists call gentrification. There is, however, a great debate about the use of this term. While some criticize its indiscriminate use, others believe it is necessary to make the concept a little more complex. This paper intends to discuss the definitions and the use of the gentrification term. Este artículo tiene por objetivo analizar la emergencia de Nuevos Movimientos Sindicales (NNMMSS) vinculándola a la oportunidad de revitalización que puede suponer para las contemporáneas centrales sindicales mayoritarias, hijas del taylorismo-fordismo. Para ello, nos centramos en el análisis de sus aportaciones. A nivel teórico, estudiamos el alcance de las críticas vertidas al actual modelo de representación salarial, resaltando la necesidad de asumir la teoría de la oferta y la importancia de los factores internos para afrontar la citada revitalización. Y a nivel práctico, señalamos su apuesta por la horizontalidad en las tomas de decisiones de colectivos con menor representación histórica y por prácticas de afiliación múltiple que cuestionan tanto el reparto del poder como los límites de la negociación colectiva. Estas son las principales conclusiones extraídas de un estudio llevado a cabo en Cataluña. Cualitativamente nos hemos basado en la realización de entrevistas semiestructuradas a representantes cualificados de sindicatos mayoritarios y minoritarios, de NNMMSS y miembros de asociaciones empresariales y expertos académicos, junto al análisis crítico de la literatura científica vinculada. Este estudio ha analizado la información oral, escrita y fotográfica existente, frente al inquietante interés por conocer detalladamente y aportar a cada una de las dinámicas pedagógicas y comunitarias desarrolladas por la comunidad educativa en la producción de diversos materiales pedagógicos. Se trata de una Revitalización del proceso pedagógico del proyecto educativo comunitario, mediante la comunicación propia y las Tecnología de la Información y Comunicación, realizada en la comunidad educativa del Colegio Ángel María Liz, Resguardo Indígena Nasa de Santa Rosa de Capicisco, Municipio de Inzá, Departamento del Cauca - Colombia. En este proceso sobresale, la integración de la gente en las distintas dinámicas comunitarias organizativas como puentes para el fortalecimiento y enriquecimiento de la tradición oral acompañada de herramientas tecnológicas con las cuales se ha dinamizado y consolidado el Proyecto Educativo Comunitario.

Los molinos de viento tradicionales son unas construcciones singulares de la arquitectura tradicional que pertenecen al Patrimonio Industrial y que no son útiles para la sociedad actual ya que han desaparecido los modos de vida a los que iban ligados, por lo que se facilita el abandono y la no conservación de los mismos. Como método alternativo de conservación se propone recuperar el funcionamiento de estos molinos de viento, dotándoles de un nuevo uso que consiste en producir energía eléctrica a través de la energía renovable del viento. Esta iniciativa posibilitaría recuperar y conservar lo que aún no se perdido de estas construcciones procedentes de la cultura industrial tradicional canaria.

It is in the culture where each nation finds the key essence for its identity and at the same time it becomes a safe shield for the maintenance of independence and existence as a country. Promoting the tenth and suddenness is one of the priorities that culture has in Cuba to protect its heritage. In this line the present article is inscribed, which as a scientific problem asks about the contribution of the community-based "Pequeños Cantores del Lomerío" sociocultural project to the revitalization of the tenth and the suddenness in the Bamburanao Turquino Plan and on this basis evaluates the results of the implementation of the project, focused on the revitalization of the tenth and suddenness in this mountainous territory, belonging to Yaguajay municipality in the Sancti Spíritus province. With the implementation of the project, it was possible to impact on the strengthening of the community socio-cultural promotion activities for the revival of traditional Cuban peasant popular music in the study scenario and at the same time incorporate children and young people in the creation and practice of the tenth and suddenness as an expression of the continuity of the cultural identity values of the region. This paper brings together geographic literature on homelessness and theories of aesthetics to analyse how city beautification projects in contemporary American cities promote the displacement of homelessness. Based on research conducted in Fresno, California, I argue that the seemingly innocuous realm of aesthetics often undergirds anti-homeless politics. In Fresno, officials sought to create a visual landscape that was conducive to middle-class consumption and leisure, such that the project of building a desirable city was deeply influenced by market pressures. In turn, homeless encampments were framed as unpleasant objects that must be removed to make way for economic opportunities. Efforts to reinforce this 'live play work' aesthetic resulted in a politics of displacement and criminalisation. Yet people who resided in encampments championed an alternative aesthetic practice grounded in reuse, survival and collective appropriation of urban space. Thus, the example of Fresno shows that aesthetic norms not only reinforce revanchist politics, but simultaneously present the possibility of resistance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Este artículo presenta la historia vivida de la reestructuración de las provincias jesuitas en España en los últimos años desde claves espirituales, apostólicas y jurídicas. Sin duda, el proceso de integración de Provincias es una llamada a actualizar el carisma y la misión de la Compañía de Jesús en el contexto de la sociedad actual, de ahí la necesidad de cuidar los elementos espirituales y apostólicos porque la Compañía nació por una misión y para una misión. Esta unificación de Provincias nos cuestiona y nos abre al magis ignaciano, es decir, nos interpela sobre nuestra capacidad de servir mejor en la misión, en nuestro servicio a la Iglesia y a la sociedad. Por otro lado, no hay que olvidar que los cambios estructurales y los documentos jurídicos son una ayuda necesaria para vivir dichos procesos, pero siempre al servicio de la revitalización de la vida y misión de las instituciones religiosas. La elaboración de los diferentes instrumentos y documentos jurídicos ha facilitado la creación de la nueva Provincia de España.
