Human identification via dental comparison is only possible if sufficient antemortem dental records are available. These records are sourced from dental practices. New 3D digital technologies are increasingly being used by dentists in Australia for routine clinical procedures and offer significantly more data for individualizing people than traditional 2D records. However, it is uncertain whether clinicians are aware of the importance of these records for forensic purposes. The collection of antemortem records from clinical practices is critical to successful identification by forensic odontology. A survey across 71 dental practices in South Australia explored both the availability of 3D dental records and the level of awareness among practitioners regarding their significance in forensic investigations. While 3D dental records are frequently produced in dental settings, there is a notable lack of awareness among practitioners of their critical value in forensic contexts. Retention practices for all records were highly variable. Despite the production of 3D records, their potential remains underutilized due to gaps in knowledge of forensic applicability. The findings highlight a significant opportunity for enhancing forensic identification through better education and management of 3D dental records. Thanks to the MAC addresses, determinations can be made to the manufacturer of a device, up to which country it is sold to. MAC addresses of the devices can be determined with forensic software. However, despite the continuous development of operating systems, the progress of forensic software remains insufficient in terms of Mac operating system (macOS). The aim of this study is to analyze the MAC address records of the phones connected to a computer with macOS, to detect the problems which occured during the analysis and to offer solutions to these problems. In order to achieve this goal, this article suggests a methodology consisting of the preparation of the working environment, the collection of data, the analysis of the data and the evaluation of the results. In accordance with this methodology, a total of ten different applications were used by phones with iOS and ANDROID operating systems. Obtained results showed that the MAC address records falling to the operating system did not work correctly every time, the connection type affects the results, and there are multiple MAC address records for one phone. Quantum states containing records of incompatible outcomes of quantum measurements are valid states in the tensor-product Hilbert space. Since they contain false records, they conflict with the Born rule and with our observations. I show that excluding them requires a fine-tuning to an extremely restricted subspace of the Hilbert space that seems "conspiratorial", in the sense that (1) it seems to depend on future events that involve records (including measurement settings) and on the dynamical law (normally thought to be independent of the initial conditions), and (2) it violates Statistical Independence, even when it is valid in the context of Bell's theorem. To solve the puzzle, I build a model in which, by changing the dynamical law, the same initial conditions can lead to different histories in which the validity of records is relative to the new dynamical law. This relative validity of the records may restore causality, but the initial conditions still must depend, at least partially, on the dynamical law. While violations of Statistical Independence are often seen as non-scientific, they turn out to be needed to ensure the validity of records and our own memories and, by this, of science itself. A Past Hypothesis is needed to ensure the existence of records and turns out to require violations of Statistical Independence. It is not excluded that its explanation, still unknown, ensures such violations in the way needed by local interpretations of quantum mechanics. I suggest that an as-yet unknown law or superselection rule may restrict the full tensor-product Hilbert space to the very special subspace required by the validity of records and the Past Hypothesis. The use of routinely collected electronic healthcare records (EHR) for outcome assessment in clinical trials has been described as a 'disruptive' new technique more than a decade ago. Despite this potential, significant methodological issues and regulatory barriers have hampered the progress in this area. This article discusses the key considerations that trialists should take into account when incorporating EHR into their trials. These include considerations of the clinical relevance of the outcome, data timeliness and quality, ethical and regulatory issues, and some practical considerations for clinical trials units. In addition, this article describes the benefits of using EHR which include cost, reduced trial burden for participants and staff, follow up efficiencies, and improved health economic evaluation procedures. We also describe the major regulatory and start up costs of using EHR in clinical trials. This article focuses on the UK specific EHR landscape in clinical trials and would help researchers and trials units considering the use of this method of outcome data collection in their next trial. When the book Wild mammals of Myanmar (Tun Yin 1993) was published, a total of 252 mammal species were reported. Since that publication, numerous new species have been described, taxonomic revisions published, and additional distribution records produced that have expanded Myanmar's mammals considerably. Therefore, we aimed to provide an updated checklist of the mammals of Myanmar, which includes the scientific and common names, global and Myanmar distributions, remarks on taxonomy, and conservation information including the IUCN Red List status and legal protection status under The Conservation of Biodiversity and Protected Areas Law 2018 of Myanmar. Our new checklist includes 365 (33 marine and 332 terrestrial) mammal species belonging to 13 orders and 49 families. We also confirmed that Myanmar is home to at least nine endemic mammal species. The name of the Los Perros river alludes to the once abundance of otters in its bed. However, in the last six decades there are few systematic records and the information obtained between collaborators from different communities seemed to confirm the disappearance of the Neotropical otter in said ecosystem. In order to know the current status of the species in the area, from June 1 to 6, 2023, tours were carried out to obtain data that would allow evaluating and relating the characteristics and quality of the habitat with respect to its population abundance. At different points and covering almost nine kilometers, the track and photo-trapping records resulted in obtaining 84 excreta and 5 anal secretions that confirmed their presence in the tributary, and thus evaluated their abundance (1.3 otters/Km). A main objective is to obtain useful information that allows socializing and implementing various community conservation actions for the mustelid, whose importance in this and other regions of Mexico is not only biological, but also cultural. AbstractIn the present paper, we provide the density-mass functions of record times and values obtained from samples of independent and non-identically distributed random variables. By making use of these density-mass functions, we then present a record generation algorithm for the non-identical case. This algorithm was first proposed in the paper of S. A. Petukhov and A. V. Stepanov (2023) Generation of records obtained from sequences of independent and non-identically distributed random variables. The algorithm applies the Markovian property of records, which is known in the case when the initial observations are independent and identically distributed and which extends to the non-identical case. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the appropriateness of the emergency referrals made by primary care clinicians and determine the factors contributing to inappropriate referrals. Methods: This crosssectional study utilises referral notes review between October 2019 and March 2020. Patients referred to Khawla Hospital's emergency department by a primary care clinician in Muscat Governorate were randomly selected; their referral notes were reviewed by five family physicians. The appropriateness of the referrals was evaluated according to the primary care referral protocol. Any referral that deviated from the protocol was classified as inappropriate. The prevalence and characteristics of inappropriate referrals were identified, and the factors contributing to inappropriate referral were determined using multivariable logistic regression. Results: In total, 591 referrals were reviewed; 354 (59.9%) of them were classified as inappropriate due to inadequate medical notes (291, 82.2%), lack of provisional diagnosis (176, 49.7%), misdirected to a non-concerned emergency (30, 8.4%) or misclassification of urgency (107 [30.2%] were classified as urgent and 45 [12.7%] as routine). After adjusting for multiple variables, insufficient clinical notes, unavailability of referral guidelines and lack of expertise were found to be strong determinants of inappropriate referral, with an odds ratio of 62.52 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 32.04-121.96), 2.88 (95% CI: 1.40-5.92) and 9.37 (95% CI: 4.09-21.43), respectively. Conclusion: While most of the referrals required emergency management, the majority were inappropriate, mainly due to insufficient clinical documentation. The epistemic arrow of time is the fact that our knowledge of the past seems to be both of a different kind and more detailed than our knowledge of the future. Just like with the other arrows of time, it has often been speculated that the epistemic arrow arises due to the second law of thermodynamics. In this paper, we investigate the epistemic arrow of time using a fully formal framework. We begin by defining a memory system as any physical system whose present state can provide information about the state of the external world at some time other than the present. We then identify two types of memory systems in our universe, along with an important special case of the first type, which we distinguish as a third type of memory system. We show that two of these types of memory systems are time-symmetric, able to provide knowledge about both the past and the future. However, the third type of memory systems exploits the second law of thermodynamics, at least in all of its instances in our universe that we are aware of. The result is that in our universe, this type of memory system only ever provides information about the past. We also argue that human memory is of this third type, completing the argument. We end by scrutinizing the basis of the second law itself. This uncovers a previously unappreciated formal problem for common arguments that try to derive the second law from the "Past Hypothesis", i.e., from the claim that the very early universe was in a state of extremely low entropy. Genealogy necessitates historical records, the majority of which derive from government sources, despite families' "private" lives. State records weren't intended to service future family historians, but were a means to state-formation and power. Consequently, records used by family historians reflect statist concerns, not state subjects'. Genealogy databases and censuses were analyzed to determine how many derive from state sources. An individual, anecdotal example focused upon a US Census record illuminates genealogical insight and misunderstanding; despite relevance, interpretation problems confront family historians. On 12 October 2019, Kenyan runner Eliud Kipchoge became the first person to run a 'marathon', known as the INEOS 1:59 Challenge, in less than 2 hours in a time of 1:59:40.2. However, his time was not ratified as a world record by World Athletics. We not only explain why this phenomenal achievement was not recognized as a legitimate record but argue his sub 2-h 'marathon' run produced a meaningless 'record' because the feat was not part of a contest. His run was an experiment or time trial spectacle backed by the best scientists, technology, organizers, athletes, conditions, and media coverage money can buy. Four areas buttress our argument: the selective use of technology, the concept of a record, the distinction between a test and contest, and the meaning of a marathon. Recent research has widely emphasized the role of public written records and data-managing strategies in late-medieval governmental growth. The necessity to control information and to assure that a timely stream of news and communications circulated among the various components of a composite domain became central for princes and governments. Such a need was translated into new documentary techniques and archival organization by the endless work of many professionals at various territorial levels. However, the increasing recourse to recorded information was a multifaceted phenomenon. To better understand its complexity, the essay will investigate the intersection of spoken and written strategies of information-gathering and negotiation. Secondly, the paper will also take into account the ambivalent dynamics underlying the recording of the various means required not only to rule a composite territorial domain, but also to control its administrative, judicial and fiscal geography. Whereas the use of written records became the norm for the establishment of a new political order, that practice sometimes, and for different reasons, also contributed to preserving the memory of a different past. In order to adequately capitalize on late-medieval Italy's complexity, the essay will examine different records and different contexts. The examples will be taken from a set of composite polities in post-communal northern and central Italy (ranging from Milan to Florence or Mantua) which shared some common features, but which were also different in size, strength, ideological models and material constitution. Commonly known as “sea spiders”, pycnogonids are a group of exclusively marine arthropods. In Mexico, 62 species of Pycnogonida have been reported from almost all the coastal Mexican states. This data is the result mostly of investigations carried out by foreigners and recent studies of sporadic collections focused on meiobenthos fauna. The aim of this paper is to disclose the samples of pycnogonids contained in the National Collection of Mites (CNAC), which was part of PhD. Anita Hoffmann’s collection and which was collected from two different locations in the Mexican Pacific by PhD. Federico Bonet in the 1940s. Three species were identified from the total of 20 specimens: Achelia sawayai (Montagu, 1808), Anoplodactylus californicus Hall, 1912, and Endeis cf. spinosa Marcus, 1940. For the first species, a record is added to the already known wide distribution. E. cf. spinosa was recorded for the first time in the Mexican Pacific, and for A. sawayai, records of its distribution in the country are expanded. Public surveys can be valuable tools to collect information on wildlife distribution. Our objective was to improve the knowledge on the distribution and expanding areas of the Egyptian mongoose (Herpestes ichneumon) in central Spain by using an on‐line questionnaire to hunters. We assessed the reliability of information that hunters provided by comparing it with reports from wildlife professionals. Our results show a high overall congruence but significantly different information provided by hunters and professionals on the distribution of the Egyptian mongoose, suggesting that both sources provide unique data for the management of non‐game species. For example, hunters reported greater mongoose presence than professionals in areas to the east of Toledo and Ciudad Real provinces, for the whole distribution and core area of the species, suggesting that hunters could help to detect other areas where the species exists. Overall, our findings stress the importance of engaging hunters in wildlife conservation, as they can share valuable information on wildlife species, including those that are not hunted. The first review of the Tomoderinae Bonadona, 1961 (Anthicidae Latreille, 1819) from the Philippine Islands is presented. Two genera, Macrotomoderus Pic, 1901 and Tomoderus LaFerté-Sénectère, 1849, are confirmed for the archipelago. Descriptions of the following 13 new species are provided: Macrotomoderus damaskai, M. davawenyo, M. hamiguitan, M. kirscheyi, M. maranao, M. subanen, M. unicus, Tomoderus agta, T. medinai, T. mindanaor, T. minor, T. penicillus, T. shavrini spp. nov. A new synonymy is proposed for Tomoderus longithorax Krekich-Strassoldo, 1929 = T. elegantithorax Telnov, 2001 (both from Luzon). Additional records and type material images are provided for the poorly known species. An annotated checklist of the Philippine Tomoderinae is provided. The study investigates perceptions of placements amongst placement students, higher education program providers, placement host institutions, and accreditation bodies. Records kept by security authorities documenting potentially violent encounters are generally characterized by technocratic language and parsimonious content, which is intended to project an image of objective and impartial state officials. A qualitative analysis of 688 records covering interrogations of suspects in terror activities by the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) presents a very different picture. They consist of representations of (1) hospitality—caring for the well-being of the person under interrogation; (2) camaraderie—amicable conversations between interrogator and interrogee; and (3) moral conviction—impassioned political or moral debates regarding the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. The analysis shows how unconventional documentation techniques in security interrogations may be used to preserve legitimacy; bolster professional prestige and makes a sophisticated use of a sense of secrecy. A study conducted a decade ago indicated the susceptibility of the archival profession to automation and ranked it as a high-risk profession. Indeed, the digital era has brought significant changes to the archival profession, including new technologies, new forms of records and new expectations for access and preservation. However, these changes also bring new challenges for archival professionals in terms of education and training. This paper aims to provide insight into the issues facing archival professionals in the digital era, and to help organisations and institutions develop effective education and training programmes that meet the changing needs of the profession. Through a literature review and content analysis, this paper provides an in-depth examination of the challenges faced by archival professionals in the digital era and the impact of these challenges on education and training. This study was based on the education and training of records and archives management staff in the public sector organisations of Lusaka, Zambia. The population of the study was drawn from four government institutions in Lusaka. The main purpose of the study was to assess the level of records management training for the records management staff in Lusaka, Zambia. Specifically, the study assessed the level of educational training in records management assessed the knowledge levels of records management of the participants and looked at the challenges encountered in the management of records and archives by public sector organisations. A survey approach was adopted for this study and employed a quantitative approach. Simple random sampling technique was used to select the 60 participants. Data were gathered using closed-ended questionnaires and analysed statistically using Statistical Package for Social Science 23.0 (SPSS).The following findings came out of the study: 65% of the participants had not attended formal training in records and archive management; 55% of the participants were not very conversant in the management of records and archives; and, finally, the study revealed that 66% of the participants encountered challenges, which included a lack of support from management, a lack of knowledge on how to appraise records and how to design the records retention and disposition schedule. However, 34% of the respondents did not encounter any challenges. The study concluded by recommending what should be done to mitigate the identified challenges, such as management should facilitate further training for the members of staff managing records and archives, create more storage space for records and ensure that policies on records and archives management are updated regularly. While the butterfly stroke has received considerable attention in sports science, the origin of the fastest master butterfly swimmers remains unknown. The present study investigated which geographical locations produce the top-performing master butterfly swimmers within their age groups and gender. A total of 26,512 master butterfly swimmers (11,288 women and 15,224 men) competed in 50 m, 100 m and 200 m races in World Masters Championships held between 1986 and 2019. From each swimmer, the year of competition, first name, last name, age group and distance were recorded. Descriptive data were presented using mean, standard deviation, maximum and minimum values, and/or confidence intervals. The top 10 race times for master butterfly swimming and gender were identified for descriptive purposes. Nationalities were then grouped into six categories: the top five nationalities with the most appearances in the top 10 fastest times in butterfly swimming by distance each year and one group consisting of all other nationalities. In the event of a tie, the nationality with the most participants overall was selected. Generalized linear models (GLMs) with a gamma probability distribution and log link function were used to assess the effect of age groups and gender on swimming time. In summary, Germany had the fastest women butterfly master swimmers across all distances, while the USA had the fastest men butterfly master swimmers for all distances. Men covered all distances faster than women and younger swimmers were quicker than older swimmers. The results of this study can be utilized to determine the countries that produce the most successful master butterfly swimmers, providing a foundation for further research to explore the factors that lead to their success. Human resources are a very important factor in the office administration and records management in company or government office. Performance in the archives and administration section is a unique function that requires high motivation to function as a managerial support in terms of providing archives, documents, and the production of manuscripts both in companies and in government. One important factor in human resources in the archives and music section is the influence of job discipline on performance. This study uses articles that identify the performance of administrative and archive employees in private and government companies. The results of the meta-analysis conducted on 30 research articles obtained a summary effect (average effect size) of 0.860, which means that there is a significant positive effect of increasing performance discipline on performance. Meanwhile, if the research is conducted by dividing the participants into two sections, namely private employees and civil servants, it is found that the summary effect value of private employees is greater than that of civil servants (0.933 and 0.761, respectively), which means that disciplining work can have a greater impact on performance in private company employees compared to government employees. The objective of this study was to assess how well the NOUN complies with international best practices for records management in Open and Distance Learning Institutions (ODL). The development of records management policies and procedures, designing and implementing the records system, file planning, records management processes and controls, disposal of records, and record retention were all among the International Best Practices mentioned in this article. Observations, document surveys, and oral interviews were the main approaches utilized to gather data. The paper's main finding was that the National Open University of Nigeria's records management procedures complied with global best practices. The institution has the framework, rules, and assistance systems needed for records management. However, the Records unit of the organization is still in its infancy and lacks enough office space, equipment, and information technology resources. The NOUN should consolidate the strides it has achieved in records management by investing in more office space and equipment. The study suggests, as an institution for open and distance learning, the organization should also spend money on records management software and hardware so that it may efficiently manage its electronic records. This study was on a survey of records management practices in state ministries in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The survey design was used for the study, with the questionnaire as the instrument for data collection. The population of the study was one hundred and six (106) records management staff of the ministries studied. Two research questions were posed for investigation. The study revealed that various records are created by the ministries which include records on general administration, accounts and finance, sports, health, laws, education and environments. The study also revealed that the ministries used such facilities as wooden shelves, metallic cabinets, steel shelves, filling cabinets for the storage of the records. The study recommended that if sufficient funds are provided for records management, all other problems can be taken care of. The study recommends that Akwa Ibom State Government should set up a records management empowerment Programme (RMIP) which ultimate goal should be to establish an Integrated and holistic records management programme. Cooperatives in Tanzania's Lake Zone generate many records that have archival value, but they face challenges in managing them when they become inactive. This study aimed to assess the status and experiences of managing inactive records by cooperatives in Lake Zone and the prospects for improving their management. A mixed methods approach with crosssectional research design were employed in which data were collected from board members of eight cooperatives through focus group discussions, face-to-face interviews, observation, and document review. Thematic content analysis was used to analyse the data. The study revealed that Tanzania has a rich collection of inactive cooperative records, but they are scattered in various cooperative societies across the country without proper management. Consequently, most of inactive records were dumped in rooms and wet places with insects that were inaccessible to users. The board members did not recognise the importance of the generated records in the cooperative movement. In addition, they were unaware of the availability of Records and Archives Management Policy as a guiding tool to ensure proper management of the generated cooperative records. This study established that the Records and Archives Management Policy was silent about managing cooperative records. The study concluded that cooperatives need to develop legal frameworks for cooperative records keeping, provide resources and training for records management, and create awareness of the value of archival records among cooperative members. Archival buildings play a pivotal role in the management of records and archives. This paper highlights the findings of a case study that investigated the effect of converted buildings on the management of records and archives in the Eastern Cape Provincial Archives in the Eastern Cape province in South Africa. The study population consisted of all archives and records personnel in the Eastern Cape Provincial Archives. The sample comprised 13 purposively selected participants. The participants had the requisite knowledge and experience pertaining to the management of records and archives in their respective records and archives in the provincial archives offices. These included the director, assistant directors, archivists, and assistant archivists. Data were collected using interviews, observations, and document analysis. Collected data were analysed using emerging themes based on the objectives of the study. The findings of the study revealed that all archival offices and repositories of the Eastern Cape Provincial Archives are housed in converted buildings. There was a clear lack of adequate and suitable office and working space, and repositories for effective management of records and archives. This has serious implications for adequate processing, storage, access to, and preservation of, records and archival materials. It was recommended that more resources should be allocated for the management of records and archives by revamping the existing facilities while resources are provided for planning and building of requisite infrastructure for records and archives management for the Eastern Cape province. Studies have established that all forms of organizations that do not have a well-coordinated records management system face a variety of risks and challenges that can collapse the business operations of these organizations. This qualitative study employs interview and observation guides to analyse records management practices at the Northern Region Water Board, a public organization in Malawi. Specifically, the study focuses on establishing records creation practices, records management strategies and the challenges that that affect records management. The study establishes that the institution creates both electronic and paper-based records. The electronic records are stored and preserved in a networked system called Enterprise Resource Planning; some are kept in free standing devices such as personal computers. Paper-based records are kept in files and folders locked in drawers and cabinets while some are kept on shelves. The institution faces four key challenges in managing its records namely, lack of management support, lack of records management skills, poor infrastructure and absence of formal policies, strategies and guidelines. Freshwater algae (Chlorophyceae-except Zygnematales) were collected from 18 sites (12 springs and 6 streams) in Shaqlawa district within Erbil Province, Kurdistan Region of Iraq from September-2019 to August-2020. Aim of this study isolation and identification new algal species. 27 new algal genera with 40 species records at first time in Kurdistan Region and others provinces of Iraq, which include the following, Scenedesmus considered the most abundance than others algae which seven species identified followed by genus of Chlamydomonas, genus of Chlorophyceae, genus of Characium with three species for each one recorded, but genera Geminella have two species, finally the remaining genera have one species identified for each one. The proportional hazard rate models have wide acceptance in modeling complex data from different engineering, reliability, and survival applications. The hazard rate function of such models is able to model data with a monotonic or a bathtubshape hazard rate. In this paper, we propose a subclass of proportional hazard rate models with three-parameters for which we have proved the existence and uniqueness of the maximum likelihood estimators based on upper kth record values. The proposed inference is found especially useful in some real illustrations within mechanical and medical analysis. Finally, several remarks are presented in the final stage of this paper. The carefully curated, small-scale world of literary manuscripts in institutions such as The British Library is far removed from the vast scale of government archives where documents are measured by the kilometers of shelf space they offer. The sheer scale of the surviving archives can mean that thousands of records remain in sacks for centuries, unsorted and unlisted. We might assume that the life-records gathered together for a figure such as Geoffrey Chaucer are fairly complete and that there are unlikely to be significant new documents. The discovery of the new Chaucer–Chaumpaigne documents presented in this issue demonstrates that there is more to be found among the vast collections of medieval legal material at The National Archives. Here we present two approaches to researching these complicated collections and demonstrate their potential for uncovering new life-records, literary and otherwise. This response to Euan Roger and Sebastian Sobecki's discovery of two new King's Bench documents proposes two new directions for Chaucerian feminist scholarship. First, it argues for the importance of focusing on the servant women who populate Chaucer's texts, analyzing the obligations that are placed on them and the conditions they are expected to endure. Second, it suggests that scholars use the rich multiple meanings of the capacious Middle English verb endure as a set of ethical charges for approaching structural attitudes toward rape and consent in Chaucer's work. This article reviews the surviving evidence for the life of Cecily Chaumpaigne in light of the new discoveries relating to the litigation against her and Chaucer. Her father, William, had been a well-to-do merchant who was not simply a street baker but a dealer in corn. Her mother, Agnes, was aspirational and ambitious, and married after William's death the wealthy saddler William Pickerel, who had been Edward III's saddler. Cecily's eldest brother, Robert, was a valet in the royal household at the same time as Chaucer was an esquire there. He also sought unsuccessfully to take over the saddlery business of his stepfather and mother, but quickly ran into financial difficulties. Much of our understanding of Chaumpaigne is defined by the surviving information about her family, but some facts are clear. She came from a well-to-do, perhaps even prosperous background. This article introduces two records that clarify the relationship between Geoffrey Chaucer and Cecily Chaumpaigne. The new documents also demonstrate the relevance of a known Chaucer life-record that previously had not been associated with this case. Our findings offer a radically different understanding of the documentary evidence and establish that Chaucer and Chaumpaigne were not opponents but belonged to the same party in a legal dispute with Chaumpaigne's former employer, Thomas Staundon, who had sued them both under the Statute of Laborers. Chaumpaigne's quitclaims for Chaucer offered the most expedient legal path under the Statute of Laborers for both Chaucer and Chaumpaigne to demonstrate that she had left her employment with Staundon voluntarily, as opposed to being coerced or abducted (raptus), before commencing work for Chaucer. In this article, we estimate stress-strength reliability of a system containing K components of type p when non-identical strength variates and common stress variate follow proportional reversed hazard rate (PRHR) family of distribution for lower records. The maximum likelihood estimator, an asymptotic distribution and logit-scale transformed asymptotic confidence intervals of the stress-strength reliability are studied for unknown and known θ. Further, the Bayes estimates of stress-strength reliability with squared error loss function are obtained for unknown and known θ. In the deficiency of the explicit forms of the Bayesian estimators, the Lindley's approximation method and Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods are followed. Further, the credible interval with the highest posterior density is obtained through Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods. The performance of the estimators is carried out through simulation technique. This paper explores how the Art-Tune Records Company (Yisheng changpian gongsi 藝聲唱片公司), a Hong Kong-based private corporation and a shadow agent of the People’s Republic of China (PRC)’s China Records Factory, fostered the circulation of Chinese music to Hong Kong and Overseas Chinese audiences in the 1950s and 1960s. Against the colonial government’s political censorship and US-imposed sanctions on the PRC, Art-Tune sought to remaster and reproduce the recordings of China Records Factory by deploying tactics of depoliticisation and underscoring Chineseness. It also delivered gramophone music with multiregional and multilingual versions to foster listeners’ emotional sympathy with cultural China and the new PRC regime. The successful migration of PRC music abroad contributed to dynamic intermedia practice with the reformulation of socialist Chinese music into Hong Kong martial arts movies. This article is an exploration of the zine as a form of practice that is radical and disruptive. It takes the form of six sections and has its own zine armature. It describes a zine workshop held in Kampala, Uganda, during lockdown, and constitutes a record of that event. The authors argue that zine-making is itself a form that can offer a queering of the status quo and can make authors of us all. Although there was no complete census in England until 1801, there had been counts of people for various purposes in towns and villages since the sixteenth century, and by the end of the seventeenth century political arithmeticians were trying to calculate the total population and its demographic characteristics from a range of documents, old and new. There had even been projects to collect new data from parish registers which in some respects anticipated the civil registers of vital events finally established in 1837. The aim of this paper is to look again at the invention in the sixteenth century of the sources later used for demographic investigation, especially parish registers and bills of mortality; to demonstrate that their value for such purposes was appreciated by contemporaries earlier than has often been assumed; and to show why, when their utility declined in the eighteenth century, it proved impossible to reform them. Pressure from political arithmeticians and a growing sector of the medical profession to redesign the established machinery of registration had no effect because it had become a monopoly in the hands of an ecclesiastical establishment determined to defend it. In the 1530s England acquired a precocious system of national registration, potentially adaptable to multiple uses, but it scarcely changed at all for three hundred years because there was no agreement on how to adapt or replace it. In the history of music there are mystical figures or characters that through rituals and ceremonies full of sounds, songs and dance have been leading different human groups through different emotional and spiritual states. These figures are often called sorcerers or shamans, a term that refers to "the quality of diviner, mediator or healer", i.e., a chosen being; it defines those who invoke powers through the mind and body, which music regulates and merges. This definition presented by González R (2008) in his book "El mundo en el oído" evidences an alliance between the uncertain and music: the magical. These figures could it be present in the cities of the 21st century? Where would we place this character? During the 20th century, the presence of music, its technological development and reproducibility, and the appearance of multiple musical genres changed the way of approaching and enjoying it. Thus, it is how towards the decade of the 50's a figure began to become popular that was linking different musical samples through the radio, live performances, etc.; that were influencing through the sound to the listeners. In this way, the following essay addresses the figure of the DJ as the one who leads, connects and communicates different individualities under a common sound rituality that besides exalting emotions creates alternative spaces of connection and timeless catharsis, that is to say, a shamanic experience in the present. Oral testimony, oral tradition and documents, as represented by written accounts of the facts and the material instruments of the acts and the records, are all ways of indirectly accessing the past. In both cases of oral and written records, what is considered ‘true’ is entirely dependent on the trustworthiness of its source. African societies have been communicating and storing valuable information through memory, murals and rock art paintings since time immemorial. The dominant Western canons have previously classified this memory as prelegal and nonlegal. This study, using a literature review, mainly through previous work of this author, explores oral memory as a trusted record in troubled times. It is concluded that, like digital records, oral memory requires proactive efforts to be preserved, as in both instances the content migrates from one carrier to another. Therefore, oral memory is trustworthy when transmitted in its context. Oral memory, it is argued, perfectly fits the description of a record and thus cannot be classified as either prelegal or nonlegal. The transmitter of information through oral history is no different from other media of records. Contribution: The study contributes to the ongoing academic discourse of decolonising and Africanising archives. This paper reports on the findings of a Master of Information Science dissertation. The purpose of the study was to determine the Road Accident Fund's readiness for electronic records. The study was qualitative, and a case study was used as the design for the investigation. Data were collected through document analysis. The findings revealed that two business units in the organisation have similar record-keeping mandates, which is confusing. Records Management forms part of the Information Governance unit at head office, while Correspondence and Document Management Services are responsible for performing records management functions in the regional offices. These business units do not form part of Information Governance, as is the case at head office, but are stand-alone regional units entrusted with records management. There is one such unit in every regional office across the country. The organisation has a central records manager who operates from the head office in Centurion. However, these regional records management business units exist and operate in isolation. As a result, there is dis-integration between paper records and the electronic processing of claims, which hinders the institution from providing timely services to motor vehicle accident victims. To improve its records management practices, the study recommended developing and implementing a records management programme, which will facilitate records management policy implementation and the development of standard processes and procedures within the organisation for managing paper and electronic records in an integrated manner. In this paper, the problem of interval estimation is considered for the parameters of the generalized inverted exponential distribution. Based on upper record values, different pivotal quantities are proposed and the associated exact and generalized confidence intervals are constructed for the unknown model parameters and reliability indices, respectively. For comparison purposes, conventional likelihood based approximate confidence intervals are also provided by using observed Fisher information matrix. Moreover, prediction intervals are also constructed for future records based on proposed pivotal quantities and likelihood procedures as well. The paper continues the author's long-term studies on extremes of random particle scores in branching processes. It is assumed that multiplication of particles is described by an immortal supercritical discrete-time branching process, the particle scores are dependent due to general heredity, and this dependence is a function of the degree of their relationship. The case of heavy-tail distributions of scores is considered. The max-linear model for scores formation is used. Background: Effective referral of maternity cases, which cannot be managed at the primary healthcare level, with detailed referral forms is important for reducing possible delays in the provision of higher-level healthcare. This is the first study to audit documentation or referral forms that accompany referred maternity cases to a referral hospital in the northern region of Ghana.Materials and Methods: This study employed an explanatory sequential mixed-method design, starting with a quantitative review of referral forms that accompanied all patients referred to four units (antenatal, antenatal emergency, labour and neonatal intensive care) of a referral hospital in northern Ghana. In-depth interviews were held with the heads of the four units afterwards. Descriptive statistics were computed for the quantitative data. The qualitative data was subjected to content analysis. Integration of the data occurred at the data interpretation/discussion level.Results: A total of 217 referral forms were analysed. Nearly half of the cases were referred from the Tamale Metropolis (46.5%) and 83.9% were referred for advanced care, whilst 8.3% were referred due to a lack of medical logistics and equipment such as oxygen and skilled personnel (6%). Completion rates of the referral forms were as follows: < 50% completion (n = 81; 37.3%), 50-75% completion (n = 112; 51.6%) above 75% completion (n = 24; 11.1%). Some of the handwriting were not legible and were quite difficult to read. The key informants stated that incomplete forms sometimes delay treatment. The head of the antenatal care unit at the referral hospital suggested professional development sessions as a strategy for supporting clinicians to fill the forms as expected.Conclusion: The Ghana Health Service should conduct regular audits, develop job aides and provide incentives for health professionals who accurately complete referral forms. Completing forms and digitizing health records can help ensure further efficiencies in the health information system and sustain good maternity referral documentation practices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
