The follow-up timing observations were carried out for 24 pulsars discovered with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) in Commensal Radio Astronomy FAST Survey. We report their phase-connected timing ephemeris, polarization pulse profiles, and Faraday rotation measurements. With their spin periods spanning from 2.995 ms to 4.34 s, their period derivatives were determined to spread between 7.996(8) × 10−21 and 9.83(3) × 10−15 s s−1, which imply that they have characteristic ages from 1.97 × 106 to 5.93 × 109 yr. It is inferred that PSRs J0211+4235 and J0518+2431 are beyond the ‘traditional death line’. PSR J0211+4235 is beyond the ‘death valley’. The death line model of Zhang et al. also cannot explain the radio presence of PSR J0211+4235. This suggests that radiation theory needs to be improved. Besides, ten of the 22 canonical pulsars show nulling phenomena. Moreover, PSR J1617+1123 exhibits variation of emission and J0540+4542 shows subpulse drifting. The DM of five pulsars is larger than the estimated by the YMW16 electron density model, which could suggest that electron density models need updates for higher Galactic latitude regions. PSRs J0447+2447 and J1928−0548 are isolated millisecond pulsars. With their flux densities spanning from 5(1)–553(106) μJy, some of these new pulsars found by FAST are distant, dim, and low-$\dot{E}$ ones and are suitable for testing pulsar emission theories.

We report the phase-connected timing ephemeris, polarization pulse profiles, Faraday rotation measurements, and Rotating-Vector-Model (RVM) fitting results of 12 millisecond pulsars (MSPs) discovered with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) in the Commensal Radio Astronomy FAST survey (CRAFTS). The timing campaigns were carried out with FAST and Arecibo over 3 yr. 11 of the 12 pulsars are in neutron star–white dwarf binary systems, with orbital periods between 2.4 and 100 d. 10 of them have spin periods, companion masses, and orbital eccentricities that are consistent with the theoretical expectations for MSP–Helium white dwarf (He WD) systems. The last binary pulsar (PSR J1912−0952) has a significantly smaller spin frequency and a smaller companion mass, the latter could be caused by a low orbital inclination for the system. Its orbital period of 29 d is well within the range of orbital periods where some MSP–He WD systems have shown anomalous eccentricities, however, the eccentricity of PSR J1912−0952 is typical of what one finds for the remaining MSP–He WD systems.

The multi-band observation, from radio to gamma-ray, plays a crucial role in constraining the emission physics and geometrical magnetospheric models of the pulsars. In this paper, We use three-dimensional magnetospheric model, with the joint of the annular gap (AG) and core gap (CG) model, to simulate the radio and gamma-ray light curves for two representative pulsars, a millisecond pulsar J2302+4442 and a young pulsar J0659+1414. It is found that for PSR J2302 + 4442, the simulated magnetic inclination angle α and viewing angle ζ are 34 ∘ and 46 ∘ , and for PSR J0659 + 1414 are 45 ∘ and 33 ∘ . This implies that the radio and gamma-ray pulse emission originates from different magnetospheric regions and the radiation geometry for millisecond and young pulsar is different. The studies show that the joint of the AG and CG model can describe the light curves not only for millisecond pulsars but also for young pulsars, and hence it can be used to explain the multi-wavelength observations of pulsars.

We report a detailed study of polarization characteristics and subpulse drifting in PSR J1110−5637 with the observations of the Parkes 64 m radio telescope at 1369 MHz. The observations revealed that the trailing component of the pulse profile has obvious subpulse drifting, while the leading component has no subpulse drifting. Using the two-dimensional fluctuation spectrum (2DFS), we detected three distinct emission modes in the trailing component (modes A, B and C). The emission in mode A is chaotic and indistinguishable, while modes B and C have obvious subpulse drifting. The vertical modulation periods P3 of modes B and C are around the mean values of 12 P and 8 P, respectively. The subpulse drifting of PSR J1110−5637 will expand the pulsar sample with multiple subpulse drifting rates, and this will help future systematic studies on the physical origin of the subpulse drifting phenomenon.

The radio radiation mechanism is one of the open questions in pulsar physics. Multiband observations are very important for constraining the pulsar radiation mechanism. In this paper, we investigate the pulse profiles of PSR B1737+13 and its evolution with the frequency. The integrated pulse profiles are obtained from the European Pulsar Network and the Australia Telescope National Facility data, together with recent observations from the largest dish Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope. The radiation components are separated with the squared hyperbolic secant functions, and the radiation altitudes of each radiation component at different frequencies are calculated. It is found that the radio radiation at different frequencies comes from different altitudes. The frequency evolutions of separations for the inner and outer cone components are studied. It is found that the separations of the inner and outer cone components have opposite frequency dependence. We simulate the RFM of PSR B1737+13 with the inverse Compton scattering (ICS) model and find that the RFM can be naturally described by the ICS model. Through the simulation, the radio radiation region of PSR B1737+13 is determined, and the result shows that the radio radiation of this pulsar may be generated in the annular gap region.

In this paper, we have proposed and investigated a humidity sensor based on perfect metamaterial absorber. The sensor is composed of three layers, which are metallic particle array on the top, porous silicon in the middle layer and metallic film at the bottom. According to the effective medium approximation, the effective permittivity of porous silicon is mainly determined by the filling fraction of water condensation. It is shown that the resonant wavelength displays significant red-shift with the increasing effective permittivity of porous silicon. Furthermore, the simulation results indicate that the refractive index sensitivity of absorber is high to 249 nm/RIU, which makes our structure be an ideal candidate for evaluating the humidity of environment.
