Calcification of the gallbladder wall (porcelain gallbladder) is rare. Its appearance is quite characteristic on plain films, ultrasonography and computed tomography. Sporadic cases of cholecystitis have been described in porcelain gallbladders. Enterobiliary fistula may complicate acute or chronic cholecystitis in non-calcified gallbladder. We report a unusual case of acute cholecystitis with cholecystoduodenal fistula in a porcelain gallbladder.

Helicobacter pylori is strongly associated with chronic gastritis and duodenal ulcer. Some authors have claimed that omeprazole is effective against H. pylori [1–8], and certainly omeprazole has been described as being one of the best treatments for duodenal ulcer disease.

A 62-year-old woman presented with massive right-sided hydrothorax associated with cirrhosis of the liver. Chest scintigraphy after intraperitoneal injection of labelled tracer showed movement of the tracer from the peritoneal to the pleural cavity. Medical therapy and thoracocentesis were successful in this case.

With reference to a new case of pancreatic cystadenoma, the authors review the literature on the subject. These tumors are a relatively uncommon form of cystic lesion of the pancreas. They find the origin from pancreatic acinar cells or from ductal epithelium. Histologically, there are two different forms: benign, serous, microcystic adenoma and potentially malignant, mucinous, macrocystic adenoma. The type of the tumor is demonstrated by ultrasonography and computed tomography. but these examinations could not make a difference between benign and malignant form. Treatment of choice is complete tumor resection. Internal or external drainage of these cysts should not be done.

Los autores han utilizado la escleroterapia para tratar las hemorragias digestivas severas de origen ulcerosa gastroduodenal. Su experiencia acumulada es presentada en dos estudios, uno retrospectivo, otro prospectivo y los resultados son alentadores. Los diferentes metodos de hemostasis endoscopica de uso habitual son recordados. La escleroterapia esta explicada en detalle y discutida. Se trata de un metodo eficaz y seguro, cuyo uso tecnico es facil y barato. Es util y puede ser aconsejada.

La presence de Campylobacter pylori (CP) a ete recherchee en comparant les techniques morphologiques (cytologie d’empreinte et histologie) et microbiologiques (test urease) par rapport a la culture, prise comme reference, chez des patients referes pour examen endoscopique qui souffraient d’une maladie ulcereuse duodenale resistante au traitement classique ou d’une dyspepsie non ulcereuse. Cent vingt sept patients sont etudies. Six biopsies antrales sont systematiquement realisees pour la culture, le test urease (24h), l’histologie (coloration de Giemsa) et la cytologie d’empreinte. Un brossage de l’antre a ete realise chez 41 patients. Les vingt cinq patients ulcereux duodenaux resistants montrent tous une gastrite antrale de type B. Le C. pylori est retrouve a la culture chez 72 %, a l’histologie et a la cytologie chez 76 % et au test urease chez 88 %. Parmi les cent deux patients dyspeptiques non ulcereux soixante douze ont une gastrite et trente en sont indemnes. Parmi ces derniers patients normaux, le C. pylori n’est jamais retrouve ni a la culture, ni a la cytologie, ni a l’histologie. Cinq patients seulement ont un test urease positif. Chez les 72 patients ayant une gastrite, 55 ont un test urease positif, 54 une cytologie positive, 49 une histologie positive et 45 une culture positive pour le C. pylori. La presence de C. pylori est significativement plus importante chez les patients ulcereux duodenaux resistants et les dyspeptiques non ulcereux. L’utilisation combinee des methodes morphologiques et microbiologiques decrites sont utiles pour le detecter.

Clinical manifestations of cystic dilation of biliary tracts, a rare affection usually detected in young patients, are described and 2 recent cases reported. Surgical treatment is outlined as a function of morphology of cysts, with emphasis on the high risk of cancerization of biliary tracts, even after bypass operations.
