Abstract

International audience; This paper presents a particular technique of reconfiguration of coupled line resonators. The reconfigurability is obtained by doping one or more parts of the silicon substrate located at the level of the coupled lines, thus creating one or more distributed diodes. The entire circuit goes through a co-design offering great flexibility and a considerable reduction in losses linked to the interconnection between the passive and active element. A first two-state resonator is presented, it has a resonance frequency close to 2.5 GHz in the OFF state and a frequency of 1.5 GHz in the ON state; the latter being adjustable as a function of the position of the doped zone. A second three-state resonator is also presented, its resonant frequency switches from 2.5 GHz in the OFF state, to 1.62 GHz in the ON1 state then to 2.13 GHz in the ON2 state.; -Ce papier présente une technique particulière de reconfiguration de résonateurs à lignes couplées. La reconfigurabilité est obtenue par le dopage d'une ou plusieurs parties du substrat silicium situées au niveau des lignes couplées, créant ainsi une ou plusieurs diodes distribuées. L'intégralité du circuit passe par une coconception offrant une grande flexibilité et une réduction considérable des pertes liées à l'interconnexion entre l'élément passif et actif. Un premier résonateur deux états est présenté, il possède une fréquence de résonance proche de 2,5 GHz à l'état OFF et une fréquence de 1,5GHz à l'état ON ; cette dernière étant ajustable en fonction de la position de la zone dopée. Un deuxième résonateur trois états est également présenté, sa fréquence de résonance commute de 2,5 GHz à l'état OFF, à 1,62 GHz à l'état ON1 puis à 2,13 GHz à l'état ON2.

Abstract

International audience; This paper presents preliminary de-vices and results of tunable microwave microsystem associating RF circuits and microfluidic components. Dielectric fluids are used to disrupt the permittivity of a microstrip structure and thus change its operating frequency. In this approach, stop-band metallic stubs are placed on top of SU8 structured substrate. Without changing the shape of RF function, its frequency shift is more than 20% when deionized water is flowing in fluidic channels.

Abstract

International audience; This paper presents a C-Band Inductive Post Substrate Integrated Ceramic Filter for a Space Application. As a strong rejection is needed, it is a 6th order folded filter in which a cross-coupling is introduced between non adjacent resonators in order to allow the creation of finite transmission zeros. A technique based on a thick film microstrip line approach to realise the cross-coupling was used. The filter proved to be compatible with planar technology through use of specific transitions. The filter was realized on a ceramic substrate (h = 380 μm, εr = 9.9, tanδ = 0.0003) under industrial process. Simulations and measurements over a large range of temperature are presented.

Abstract

International audience; This paper describes an original filtering solution for specifications in the Ultra Wide Band (UWB) (3.1 to 10.6 GHz). This 7th-order filter is based on an association of series- and parallel-resonators, where open-ended coupled-lines are used as series resonators, and open-ended stepped-impedance half-wavelength stubs as the parallel ones. Addition of open-ended half-wavelength stubs enhanced the rejection level close to the band edges. This UWB filter was realized in microstrip technology on a 254-μm-thick alumina substrate of permittivity 9.9. It was also strongly miniaturized to be put in a 0.32 x 0.32 inch2 Stratedge package and mounted on a FR4 plate for measurements: its insertion loss is 5 dB, and rejection in the lower and the upper bands is 31 and 20 dB, respectively. The measured return losses are better than 11.8 dB.

Abstract

International audience; This paper presents a novel technique of cross-coupling based on a thick film microstrip line. This cross-coupling, which is introduced between non adjacent resonators on a folded version of a substrate integrated filter (SIW), allows the creation of finite transmission zeros aimed at increasing rejection. This technique was applied to a C band 6th-order inductive post SIW filter. Its performances are compared to those of another filter based on a cross-coupling through a classical coplanar line. Both filters proved to be compatible with planar technology through use of specific transitions. All filters were realized on a standard ceramic substrate (h = 380 μm, εr = 9.9, tanδ = 0.0003). Experimental results are in agreement with those from simulations.
