Sacha inchi seeds (Plukenetia Volubilis L.) collected from different ecological regions of Vietnam (the Northern Mountainous region, the North Central region, and Central Highlands Area) were sown in the spring crop (March 2020) in Gia Lam district, Hanoi city, Vietnam. Checking variety S18, which was copyrighted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam in 2019 as a special medicinal plant variety. During the period of 26 months after planting, we evaluated agronomical parameters, growth and development characteristics (leaf form, number of inflorescences per branches, number of female flowers per inflorescences, etc.), pests and diseases, yields and yield components (number of seeds per fruit, seed weight, seed grain, etc.), ratio of kernel per seed and ratio of oil per seed. The evaluation results show that the collected sacha-inchi lines have a time from sowing to flowering and fruiting of 108–125 days, a fruiting to ripening of 123–125 days, and a time from sowing to harvesting the first batch of 244–250 days. The annual harvest has two main times: May–June and November–January. The actual yield of the first two periods is high (2.66-3.07 tons per hectare), and the highest yield is collected in the Northern Mountainous area is 3.07 tons per hectare (in Tuyen Quang province) and 3.01 tons per hectare in the North Central region (in Thanh Hoa province). In the nursery, root rot caused 2.1-5.3% of deaths and green wilt caused 3.1-4.8% of deaths of seedlings. In the planting garden, fruit borers, stem borers, cavity worms and red spiders were discovered, causing more serious damage than other types (from 5 to over 50%). The results of evaluation of growth, development, yield components and yield were selected sacha-inchi lines collected in the North Central region (in Thanh Hoa province) and the Northern Mountainous region (in Tuyen Quang province) is the best.

Abernethy malformation, also known as Congenital absence of the portal vein (CAPV), is a very rare malformation. There are some reports of liver transplantation as a treatment for CAPV, and our report is the first case in Vietnam. A 10-year-old boy, diagnosed with Abernethy type 1b malformation (portal vein draining directly into the inferior vena cava) and liver tumor. Living donor liver transplantation was performed using a right liver graft from his mother. Histopathological examination of the native liver showed a huge mass lesions within the right liver and absence of portal vein in portal space. Postoperatively, the patient attained optimal liver function and at a 13-month follow-up has returned to normal life. Abstract: The large-scale nanowire-like (NW) structure of tungsten oxide is synthesized by the deposition of tungsten metal on the substrate of porous single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) film, followed by thermal oxidation process. The morphology and crystallinity of the synthesized materials are analyzed by SEM, TEM, XRD, and Raman spectroscopy. Results showed that tungsten oxide NWs deposited on SWCNTs have a porous structure with an average diameter of about 70 nm and a length of up to micrometers. The NH3 gas-sensing properties of tungsten NWs were measured at different temperatures. A maximum response of 9.7–1500 ppm at 250 °C with rapid response and recovery times of 7 and 8 s are found, respectively. In addition, the gas sensing mechanism of fabricated NWs is also discussed in term of surface resistivity and barrier height model. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

The on-chip growth and surface-functionalization have been recently regarded as promising techniques for large-scale fabrication of high performance nanowires gas sensors. Here we demonstrate a good NO2 gas-sensing performance of the tungsten oxide nanowires (TONWs) sensors realized by scalable on-chip fabrication and RuO2-functionalization. The gas response (Rg/Ra) of the RuO2-functionalized TONWs to 5 ppm of NO2 was 186.1 at 250 °C, which increased up to ∼18.6-fold compared with that of the bare TONWs. On the contrary, the responses of the bare and functionalized sensors to 10 ppm of NH3, 10 ppm of H2S and 10 ppm of CO gases were very low of about 1.5, indicating the good selectivity. In addition, the TONW sensors fabricated by the on-chip growth technique exhibited a good reversibility up to 7 cycles switching from air-to-gas with a response of 19.8 ± 0.033 (to 1 ppm of NO2), and this value was almost the same (about 19.5 ± 0.027) for 11 cycles after three months storage in laboratory condition. The response and selectivity enhancement of RuO2-functionalzied TONWs sensors was attributed to the variation of electron depletion layer due to the formation of RuO2/TONWs Schottky junctions and/or the promotion of more adsorption sites for NO2 gas molecule on the surface of TONWs, whereas the good reversibility was attributed to the formation of the stable monoclinic WO3 from the single crystal of monoclinic W18O49 after annealing at 600 °C.
