Purpose: The purpose of this research is to assess the importance and difficulty of particular knowledge management processes in the NPI before and during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The focus of interest are the issues of knowledge flow in the organization, concerning creation and exchange of knowledge and the relationship between knowledge management practices and the creation and introduction of new knowledge in NPI. Design/methodology/approach: The methodology is based on structured individual interviews that were conducted with 12 employees of companies involved in NPI processes. This format allows for better understanding and assessment of KM processes and reasons for change. The interviewees were inquired directly about the importance and difficulty of the KM processes. Findings: The results have confirmed the crucial role of Knowledge Management in NPI. The processes of knowledge sharing and knowledge application are of greatest importance. The pandemic has affected knowledge flow processes; however, the perceived importance of individual KM processes during pandemic has not changed significantly, yet coding and knowledge-sharing processes require more attention. Research limitations/implications: Results may not reflect the entire NPI field due to limited number of interviewed companies. It is advisable to carry out research that will take into account the division into different areas of companies' activities and analyze other processes of knowledge management. Practical implications: The results are useful for adjusting by enterprises the KM processes to meet the changing conditions during NPIs, especially in the context of remote working. Social implications: By adapting the KM in NPI to the presented current circumstances companies may improve not only the business outcomes, but also the well-being of employees, as a results of decreasing their stress connected with inadequacy of work processes to the real requirements. Originality/value: Based on quality research, the article shows trends emerging in the KM during the NPI, which are useful for companies that run New Product Introductions, as well as for researchers by providing a starting point for further research. This comprehensive systematic review examines the evolution of teaching quality research globally from 1990 to 2019. Analyzing 182 studies, the review identifies key trends, highlighting a significant rise in academic interest since 2012. Notably, the study underscores the cross-disciplinary nature of teaching quality, emphasizing its departure from isolation. The geographical landscape of research reveals an expanding focus, particularly in Asian countries. The review further explores thematic concentrations, research designs, and authorship patterns, revealing insights into collaboration trends. Journal analysis showcases a diverse academic interest in teaching quality across various disciplines. The conclusion urges researchers to diversify perspectives for continued field development.

The research, the results of which are presented in this article, was inspired by the interactionist and revised theory of profession, as well as by the idea of situated and embodied cognition. The research material consisted of self-descriptions, conducted over a period of 3 months, of the daily professional activities of a day-care centre teacher on professional training. The aim of the analysis and interpretation was to reconstruct the structure (elements) of the professional working conditions of a pedagogue working in this institution, conditions that are important for the organisation and quality of this work. As the subject literature notes a tendency to perceive institutional conditions as familiar and self-evident, this excludes them from the field of reflection and blocks efforts to consciously change them. On the one hand, the research results have a practical significance; they can be used in the academic training of pedagogues, as they make the conditions of future professional work more concrete (they reduce the abstractness of the content conveyed). On the other hand, they have theoretical significance - if the proposed research perspective is used in the study of different institutions or areas of pedagogical activities, there will be an opportunity to identify common and significantly different factors, which will allow moving towards the creation of an empirically grounded theory of pedagogical professionalism. The article presents selected results of qualitative research indicating an attempt of self-construction by alumni of creating institutional and family forms of care in relation to experiences, autonomy and risk (including the risk associated with the COVID-19 pandemic). It appears that not the pandemic but adaptation to life outside institution affects the vulnerable life balance which, in light of lack of possibilities and resources necessary to overcome difficulties, sets the direction life course of the research participants. These difficulties lead to the implementation of certain functioning strategies which translate into life choices. The empirical data comes from quality in-depth interviews which make it possible to examine the world experienced and perceived by individuals.

Using artificial light at night gives a lot of benefits for humanity, but, at the same time, it has changed our planet significantly. However, the problem was not taken seriously until its scale became noticeable. Though, skepticism, even among many recognized researchers, is still present, although this is expressed mainly in personal conversations. But, in any way the number of studies on this topic is increasing quite rapidly. Unfortunately, a part of these publications is not qualitative, published apparently without proper review, and this can seriously distort the understanding of the problem, have an impact on other scientific research, and also complicate the search for optimal ways to solve the problem of light pollution. One of such recently published works with the title “The effect of nighttime lighting on the anatomical and physiological features of the leaves of linden, horse chestnut, and plane trees in garden-park and street plantings of Kyiv” has caused a desire to pay attention to this situation, and to prevent similar ones in the future. So, the critical review of the mentioned study is presented here.

While science communication is increasingly being discussed as a third mission alongside research and teaching, there is little research on how universities and research organizations deal with issues regarding the quality of science communication. This article examines, from an organizational perspective, which new forms of quality assurance processes scientific organizations in Germany apply when addressing quality risks for science communication such as exaggeration in press releases or in the online communication of individual faculty members. Six focus group discussions were conducted with 22 participants (rectors or presidents of universities, heads of communication, ombudsmen, and high-impact researchers). Based on the results, proposals were developed to extend central as well as decentral organizational structures to assure good scientific communication practice. Their possible implementation was discussed in a workshop with representatives of all abovementioned groups. In conclusion, recommendations for future institutional policy are presented. This paper is based on analyzed literature on the appraisal of the quality of research and innovations in Ugandan universities. Its purpose is to reflect on the factors that impact Uganda's ranking globally. It focuses on graduate schools where the component of research and innovation is a requirement in many programs of study. The paper is partly an appraisal of the performances of university education that revolves around the traditional functions: teaching-learning, carrying out research, and engagement in community outreach services. It attempts to articulate major challenges which Ugandan graduate students face and to propose some strategies for a way forward.

Background/purpose - This article explores the social history of flagship universities in Africa through marketing, research output, and academic knowledge. The study highlights the social, academic, political, and economic significance of each African flagship university within their respective countries. Materials/methods - The study was conducted according to three top university global rankings, the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), the QS World University Rankings (QS) and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THEs). The study attempts to analyze a hybrid list of African flagship universities listed commonly among the best between 2015 and 2017. Results - The study revealed that, between 2015 and 2017, the University of Cape Town, South Africa, maintained a higher ARWU status than the American University in Cairo, Egypt. The next-highest ranked university was South Africa's University of Witwatersrand. Regardless of each university's respective long history, the findings further highlight the universities' research innovations and achievements over time. The results that emerged from this study were that most of Africa's national elite universities strive to attract the best caliber of candidates from the competitive global academic scene, and that few African universities have achieved high global rankings. Despite innovations, Africa has produced little research, and has the lowest higher education investment level. This article suggests that governments in African countries should increase the level of research support, improve funding initiatives, and facilitate universities' research policies. These efforts would have the potential to boost academic reputations of African universities as well as curriculum innovation. Conclusion - The findings suggest that as a development marketing strategy for flagship universities in Africa, a few institutions should be selected into which significant investment could be made to bolster funding and research resources. By means of a qualitative analysis of the sixteen municipalities in the Czech Republic in which additional elections were held in 2019, five variables were identified which may explain why additional elections occurred. For analysis, we used data from the Czech Statistical Office (municipal elections 1994 to 2019), the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic and information on individual municipalities from media analysis. We have identified the following possible variables which may affect whether additional elections are held: end of elites, non -stand as a candidate again, the end of municipal representatives, incumbent decides not to defend mandate (variable Non -defend mandate) and personal disputes within the municipality. Conversely, the financial situation of the municipality, the age of the representatives, the voter turnout in the municipality, the number of voters, the number of candidate lists or associations and candidates proved inconclusive in most municipalities. A significant increase in new candidates is a consequence rather than an explanation of the holding of additional elections.

The concept of reference sample was put forward in the Guidance on CMC of Traditional Chinese Medicine Compound Preparations Developed from Catalogued Ancient Classical Prescriptions(Interim). The research on reference sample is a key link in the research and development of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) compound prescriptions from catalogued ancient classical prescriptions(known as Category 3.1 TCM). This paper discusses the content of research on reference sample by analyzing the characteristics of Category 3.1 TCM and the purpose of research on reference sample. Furthermore, suggestions on the research of reference sample are proposed according to the development and evaluation practice of Category 3.1 TCM and research achievements of TCM regulatory science, aiming to provide reference for colleagues in this industry.

We provide a list of points to consider ( PTCs) to help researchers self-assess whether they have addressed certain common issues that arise frequently in accounting research seminars and in reviewers' and editors' comments on papers submitted to journals. Anticipating and addressing such issues can help accounting researchers, especially doctoral students and junior faculty members, convert an initial empirical accounting research idea into a thoughtful and carefully designed study. Doing this also allows outside readers to provide more beneficial feedback rather than commenting on the common issues that could have been dealt with in advance. The list, provided in the appendix, consists of five sections: Research Question; Theory; Contribution; Research Design and Analysis; and Interpretation of Results and Conclusions. In each section, we include critical items that readers, journal referees, and seminar participants are likely to raise and offer suggestions for how to address them. The text elaborates on some of the more challenging items, such as how to increase a study's contribution, and provides examples of how such issues have been effectively addressed in previous accounting studies. The paper starts from the current reality, namely, the difficulties faced by the entities in the automotive industry in relation to the recruitment and retention of the required personnel. We seek to identify the causes that generated this crisis, and also the efforts the companies need to make in order to ensure the required personnel. To this aim, a qualitative research was carried out, using the interview as tool, applied to the human resources managers of the main local players in the industry, but also to the representative of a training and recruitment company in the Arges County.

Background: Malnutrition in hospitalized patients can adversely affect health outcomes and increase the cost of care. Real-world strategies are needed for prompt identification and treatment of patients at risk of malnutrition.Objectives: The aim of this quality improvement (QI) study was to measure the impact of a nutrition-focused program on the malnutrition care processes of participating hospitals. Secondary objectives were to determine whether improvements in these nutrition-related processes reduced hospital readmissions and length of stay (LOS) in patients ≥65 years.Methods: A group of 27 US hospitals ("The Collaborative") implemented the Malnutrition Quality Improvement Initiative (MQii), as guided by a Malnutrition QI Toolkit and 4 electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs), including (1) nutrition screening; (2) nutrition assessment following detection of malnutrition risk; (3) nutrition care plan for patients identified as malnourished after completed nutrition assessment; and (4) documentation of malnutrition diagnoses. Multivariate analyses identified the variables best correlated with patient outcomes.Results: Improvements were observed for all 4 eCQMs. The greatest improvements were achieved as a result of timely nutrition assessment (P = .06) and malnutrition diagnosis (P = .02). Patients ≥65 years with a malnutrition diagnosis and nutrition care plan had a 24% lower likelihood of 30-day readmission but a longer mean LOS than did those without a care plan.Conclusions: In this study, the implementation of MQii practices significantly improved the identification of malnutrition. The prompt identification and treatment of patients at malnutrition risk can improve patient care and health, as well as reduce costly readmissions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Indian higher education institutions (HEIs) are struggling hard to get a berth among top-rated HEIs in the world. One of the important parameters that restrict our HEIs from the list of top-notch global HEIs is 'contribution to research'. It does not mean that Indian HEIs don't have quality researchers to produce world class research output. Had that been the case, Indian researchers doing research abroad would not have done miracles with their unique research output in varied domains. The hindrance for researchers in India could be owing to improper communication facility that fails to exchange ideas and outcomes of research among peers. Thus, the urge for formation of sound institutional electronic repositories, i.e., electronic research corners (e-research corners) has crop up. Mere formation of e-research corners won't suffice to address the issue. Besides formation, e-research corners need to be open accessed. University Grants Commission (UGC) of India has established an Inter-University Center called Information and Library Network Center (Inflibnet), which is the best example of open access institutional repositories. While some HEIs of India do have their research corners that are accessed by only the internal stakeholders, some other HEIs don't have any such repositories as such. On the backdrop of the necessity of formation and open access of institutional electronic repositories, this paper focuses on unfolding how open access to sound e-research corners promote quality education. Besides, it has also designed a framework that will assist the HEIs to build sound e-research centers. For the purpose, in-depth interviews are conducted with 50 researchers working in reputed HEIs in Bhubaneswar to ascertain how open access e-research centers facilitate quality research. Focus Group Discussion are also conducted among experts in the field like research heads of selected HEIs, Chief Librarians of established Libraries and reputed educationists of the State for designing the framework to form eresearch centers. This paper considers the role and responsibilities of a scientific association in promoting and supporting high quality research, particularly with regard to providing guidance on research ethics. The paper reports on a survey-based study commissioned by the European Educational Research Association in 2015 which focused on educational researchers' experiences with, and attitudes toward, the research ethics review scope and practice. The study provides insight into the role and activities of the European Educational Research Association in fostering high quality educational research. The analysis reveals the perception of academics that the European Educational Research Association might further high quality educational research for the benefit of education and society in the following ways: (i) leading the development of guidelines on ethical education research that are applicable across Europe whilst recognizing varied transnational contexts; (ii) promoting free, open dialogue and critical discussion on ethics in educational research; (iii) taking a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to ethics in educational research; (iv) informing the public about current developments in educational research; (v) developing practices of reviewing educational research in the context of research ethics; and (vi) promoting debate on ethics in the academic field of educational research. Universities have used an array of incentives to increase academic publications, which are highly rewarded in the South African higher education funding formula. While all universities use indirect incentives, such as linking promotion and probation to publication, the mechanisms used in some institutions have taken a very direct form, whereby authors are paid to publish. This process has paralleled a large rise in publication outputs alongside increased concerns about quality. Significantly, there are ethical questions to be asked when knowledge dissemination is so explicitly linked to financial reward through the payment of commission to academics. Based on an analysis of institutional policies and data from an online survey and interviews with academics from seven South African universities, we argue that when money is the main means used to encourage academics to contribute to knowledge, numerous unintended consequences may emerge. These include a focus on quantity rather than the quality of research, a rise in predatory publishing, and resentment among academics. We argue that incentives, in particular direct payment for publications, undermine the academic project by positioning publications in terms of exchange-value rather than their use-value as a contribution to knowledge building. Objective To study the preparation technology and quality of cefotiam hexetil hydrochloride tablet. Methods The disintegration time limit and dissolution of drug were taken as the main index. The original piece of reference was used to optimize the prescription process and preliminary study on its quality . Results The best prescription was determined by experiments : cefotiam hexetil hydrochloride tablets were prepared by dry granulation with anhydrous citric acid, alpha-cyclodextrin， microcrystalline cellulose,hydroxypropyl cellulose, silica,magnesium stearate and film-coated premix (gastric-soluble) . The indexes of cefotiam hexetil hydrochloride tablet conformed to the Japanese Pharmaceutical Bureau Prescription (JPXV) standard. Licorice, one of the oldest traditional Chinese medications, is widely used in the treatment of various diseases. With the development of science and technology, an increasing amount of analytical techniques have been applied to the quality control of licorice. Herein, we summarize several of the quality control methods developed in recent years. These approaches include sample preparation processes, high-performance thin layer chromatography, gas chromatography, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, high-performance liquid chromatography, and liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS). Rural attractions has increasing opportunities to act as a basic resource for tourism, organised and sustained through locally owned small enterprises. Rural hospitality enterprises (RHEs) are a rapidly expanding and dynamic sector of the rural tourism industry, largely associated with the concept of sustainability in which local communities are increasingly proactive in facilitating the regional development. The research was aimed to determine the real condition of the accommodation capacity in rural tourism of Serbia. The authors employed a questionnaire to obtain data on the RHEs in thirteen (13) municipalities in Serbia. Thanks to the obtained results, the current condition of RHEs and potentials for more prosperous rural tourism development in the researched municipalities, can clearly be noticed.

While many past studies focus on service quality research, especially using the “SERVQUAL”, little is known about the mechanics of this model. Motivated by the need to gauge the contribution of the SERVQUAL model, this study reviews 367 SSCI and SCI articles that are related to the SERVQUAL model from 1998 to 2013. We identify key factors and conduct a survey to search for related articles in the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) Web of Science (WOS) database. Research contributions are measured, ranked, and presented based on quantity and quality metrics. The trends of SERVQUAL model research from our results are discussed. This study shows that the SERVQUAL model was one of the hot research topics by academic re-searchers and significantly contributed to service quality research.
