This study investigated social media use for information dissemination by librarians in federal university libraries in Southwest Nigeria. A descriptive survey method was adopted for the study, while the sample consisted of all 82 librarians in the selected universities. A questionnaire was the instrument used for data collection, while the data collected was analyzed through SPSS. The study established that there was a high level of awareness of social media tools like Facebook, Google+, Twitter, LinkedIn, Academia.edu, and the other social tools found in the study, but Facebook, Google+, and Twitter were the mostly used for disseminating information. Based on the findings, conclusion and recommendations were made.

The study investigated the factors hindering knowledge sharing practices among librarians in Nigerian federal university libraries. Methods: The study was based on post-positivism research paradigm with survey research design. The UTAUT was employed as the theoretical lens underpinning the study. All the librarians from the six federal university libraries in Southwest constituted the study population. The questionnaire and semi-structured interview were adopted for data gathering. SPSS was used to analyse the questionnaire, while the semi-structured interview was analysed through thematic content analysis. Results: The study found that majority of the respondents 80(78%) disagreed that they will not share knowledge owning to poor communication and interpersonal skills. The respondents interviewed also confirmed that trust, collaboration, reward/incentives, lack of time and fund, space and so on were identified as some factors inhibiting knowledge sharing practices among the respondents. Conclusion: The study concluded that of all the identified factors responsible for knowledge sharing practices among librarians, organisational factor received the highest ranked. This study examined e-resources usage among polytechnic students in Southwest Nigeria. A descriptive research design was adopted for this study and the population consisted of polytechnic students from The Polytechnic, Ibadan and Federal Polytechnic, Ede. There were 9671 students from both polytechnics. A multi-stage sampling technique was employed with a sample fraction of 5% was drawn from the total number of students in each faculty amounting to 381. A structured questionnaire was the major instrument used for data collection and the questionnaire was pre-tested using Cronbach-alpha to determine the reliability co-efficient. Data obtained was analyzed using SPSS. The study found that the students from both polytechnics are aware of the e-resources and that the e-resources were mainly used for research, class assignment and to update knowledge. The problem such as epileptic power supply, poor internet connection and so on was identified. The study concluded that polytechnic students could benefit immensely from the enormous usage of e-resources particularly for teaching, learning and research. This study investigates the influence of demographic factors on use of online library resources by undergraduate students in two private Nigerian university libraries. Descriptive survey design was adopted for the study and the study population consisted of 7500 undergraduates from Babcock University and 2200 from Redeemer's University. Random sampling was used to select a sample of 291 and questionnaire was the main instrument used for data collection. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics consisting of tables of frequency and percentage for the demographic characteristics and spearman non-parametric correlation was used for the hypotheses. The findings revealed that there was significant relationship between level of study and utilization of online library resources (r=.933.; P= 0.05). There was no significant relationship between gender and use of online library resources (r=.95.; P0.05). The internet and e-journals were important sources of information for the university undergraduate students. Students' demographic factors should not be a barrier to e-resources use and as a result, students of all ages and gender should endeavor to acquire knowledge required to enable them make effective use of online library resources anytime and anywhere. Both young and old students should be encouraged and sensitized on the benefits available in the use of library online resources.
